Friday

We were invited to stay over at an old friend of ours. I thought I would use the time before we went to work on more DA stuff, but Doc had bought Naruto Path of Ninja Revolution 2 for the Wii. So......... I spent the whole time playing. . Around 6, our friend came by for us and we went to a haunted house. The line was like an hour long and DARVTC and his brother pretty much gave up a few minutes into it. I decided to wait it and went in. One of the best haunted houses I've seen. It actually gave me some ideas for Halloween, but I'll get to that later. We got to my friends home and we ate some Pizza and played Call of Duty 2 and 3. Once I got used to the XBox 360 controls, I was stomping ass. Made everyone else feel bad. After a while, we decided to watch Ice Age 3. I can say one thing, the movie was really funny. I laughed my ass off many times, especially with all the penis jokes. (You have to watch it to understand what I mean.) Afterwards, we watch some late night shows with Unnecessary Censorship clips and Halloween costumes until we fell asleep.

Saturday

We all woke up with our faces inked red. Doc's little brother, woke up and decided to be the artist of the day. We got up and went swimming and played some more Call of Duty. Then we were all dropped off at our home to set up our Halloween costumes. Doc had a headless man outfit while I went with a zombie costume. Our friend had a hockey mask and a detractable plastic switchblade and Doc's brother went as a ghostly wizard. Doc, his bro, and our friend went Trick or Treating while I stayed behind to scare everyone by our house. It was so epic! People were running all the way to the other side of the street after I scared them. When Doc came back (our friend left when they were done), he took the bowl of candy and sat down motionless waiting for people to come. As people came, he scared them from in front, then I came in and freaked them out (one of the ideas I got from the Haunted House of Friday). The Double Scare got more results than I could imagine. I almost got beat up a few times, but it was worth it. Doc's costume really impressed people, cause some people asked to take pictures with him. I bet they are probably up on Facebook right about now. I didn't get my picture taken cause I was to busy chasing a Power Ranger to the nearby Tennis Court . After that, we went to a party over at Doc's relatives. The costumes there were really epic and caused a hell of a lot of laughs.. We had one hell of a good time.

Sunday

After waking up confused at a morning after daylight savings has taken effect, Doc tells me his relatives have invited us to swim in a river. I really didn't want to go, but it was better than staying with Doc's parents organizing the house. We got there and went straight to the river. The water was freezing and everyone had taken a long time to get in (except for Doc who just jumped straight in and was left waiting in) We swam upstream and found a hole that (according to one of Doc's cousins) was 110 feet deep and 100 feet wide! The current was too strong for any of us to try to swim into it, so we went back downstream to eat. We just hung around a bit before returning to the water then back to Doc's house. While the adults stayed down, Doc, his bro, his younger cousins, and I went up to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl. After that, we all went downstairs to get ready for the school day. Though I actually snuck a bit more game time before going to sleep. lol.

Well, that's pretty much the gist of it. Plus I've uploaded my first game demo called Space Time Attack. [link] Go try it out and tell me what you think. That's all for now.

That doesn't mean I'm done with Team Genesis. If you've been reading, you can probably assume why. But before I start Book 2, I've got some things to say.

Book 2- Book 2 is not a sequel to Team Genesis Book 1. It's just a different way of saying the next chapter. They are separated by the general situations of each book. Example, the first book was about the beginning of the new team of heroes. The second book introduces a new conflict. Axel retaliates and goes all out on our new team. Plus, a another group appears and make the search for the emeralds impossible for either side.

Illustrations- Before I start Book 2, I'm planning on making minimum one picture per chapter of Team Genesis. So while my drafts come along, I'll make some 3D images depicting the situation. I will also consider making models of some of the villains and supporting characters, but I doubt I'll have them out before finishing Team Genesis

Yo-Yo games- I'm learning how to make games lately, so look out for some of my games on Yo-Yo games.

But the good news is that I finally am (mostly) rid of my writer's block. Team Genesis Book 1 Chapter 11 is nearly finished in its draft form. That encouraged me to go on a head and finish writing Chapter 8. I'll try to get the next chapter in by next week. But for now, I finally got something out of the way.

In other news, today is September 11th. For the U.S at least, this is a very tragic day. A couple of kamikaze bombers took some airplanes and flew it into various locals, including the Pentagon and the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Do take that into consideration and keep it in your prayers (regardless of your religion).

As of right now, I still am available for Requests and Trades. I can't accept commissions and I have limits as to what I can and cannot do. Also realize that with school, the possibility that I might get a job, and other distractions that may occur, I may take a very long time in getting something done. But go ahead and make the request; I need to practice with something that I have to build from scratch (My Team Genesis characters are edits/recolors of the Dash and Missy the fox models I made for the DashXMissy video 2[link]).

Also, I'm seeking more continuous challenges on Platform Racing 2 and I need suggestions for YouTube videos. I have planned to try :TheBlox:'s Cosmic Rush, but it might be a while before that's out. So I definetly need something. So if anyone knows of a good flash game that can be completed in minutes or can be broken up into minimum 8 sections, tell me.

When I get home, I'm probably going to have a lot more time in my hands. Most of my friends will still be out of the state/country, so I have some time to work on DA stuff. My plan now is to create illustrations for each chapter of Team Genesis. But as of now, I'll start taking requests from anyone. First off, Doc DARVTC, his cousin, two friends and I went camping almost a week back. From the top of the hill in which we stood, we saw the small town lights from above. Following the lighting of the most pathetic bonfire in the history of bonfires , we cooked platains over it like marshmellows. Why? Cause someone forgot to bring something to actually cook it with. And if that weren't enough, the second the fire went out, flies came in to attack quickly. Apperantly they like white meat, cause I got ambushed by it, despite the use of insect repellent. Then we went into the tent and ate a few sandwiches and guava juice. After a few jokes (which due to my mediocre Spanish I understanded very little), we went to sleep...... sort of. Doc couldn't sleep out of thirst and we ran out of guava juice at 11 p.m. So he woke me up and we talked a while out side. We broght a game called "Parkes", which is a dice board game very much similar to Sorry. We played like two times and I fell asleep in the middle of the third. Waking up the next morning, turned out that Doc, his cousin, and another dude got some sort of allergy or something and it looked like they had smallpox. We knew it wasn't because it wasn't itchy (or so they say). After that, we packed up, went home, and had a good, well-needed breakfast.

Last Sunday, Doc's cousin invited us to go to another city with his band to see them play and visit the city while we're at it. Since this place was high in the mountains, it was a lot colder than where we're staying, but nothing compared to a winter in the U.S. (depending where you're at.) The trip there and the stay at the mini-concert was pure laughter for everyone that spoke perfect Spanish. Since I couldn't understand, I continued to draft Team Genesis Book 1, something I left aside for a while. After the band played, Doc and his cousin went to see a soccer match. Doc translated what happened whenever there was something I missed. After that, we hung out with some people from the concert and saw the rest of the city (worth seeing according to Doc's cousin). While we were there, we decided to record us doing some practical jokes with people passing by. Doc and I even came up with one where we'd crash into the people and start speaking English. The arguing in two different languages was so increadibly frantic. After that, two chicks invited the band (what was left of it, some left early) to stay over with them since we had no where to stay. I'm not going into detail into what happened over there, but there was no promiscuous or hazardous actions for those that are thinking that.........at least not from three of us. We stayed up for longer than the camping trip just talking and listening to music. Morning came and we left.

Yesterday morning was Colombian Independence day, so on our way home we saw several cars, trucks, buses, and other vehicles with chanting people and flags all over. When we got home, we took a quick bath and headed to Doc's grandmother's place, who coincidentaly had her birthday that day. Two holidays in one, it's funny when that happens. We talked awhile about what happened, what else will happen, and about the phenomenoms of UFOs, ghosts, premonitions, and dreams. It got to be quite the riot.

Today not much was going on, so I headed over to a pharmacy owned and runned by one of Doc's uncles. Got on the internet and checked all my mail accounts, DA, Newgrounds, and YouTube. All toghether I nearly hit 100 messages........... I defenitly haven't checked my mail in a while Now we've hit current day and time and since I had nothing else to do I wrote this journal for shits and giggles. Good times.

I'll be working on Team Genesis and I might write the next chapter tomorrow or the day after. That's all for now. marjosonic, Over and OUT!

Last winter, their family went and took me along. And I had a blast! So much that when they decided to go this summer, I asked to tag along. My spanish is enough to "survive" here, so that´s not a problem. But the problem is that the brother´s family aren´t very good economically. It´s a hard life for them and us for a visit makes it a bit harder. But luckily none of us are parasites and acutally help out, and we have considerably MORE fun here than in the U.S. Guess when you have money, you can´t really enjoy yourself.

But if your wondering what I meant by the title, we were sitting down yesterday playing a game of Rummy-Q (Rummino), and it started to rain..... really hard. I´m not saying that the rain was worse than back home, but the circumstances made it a lot worse. I´m not saying the house we´re at is like those movies and TV shows where the water goes through the roof. But there are parts in the house that have no walls to keep the rain out! In other words, the rain came in and started to flood the house. The drain that´s supposed to keep the rain out was blocked up and the mops couldn´t soak up enough water to keep the levels low. We had to recur to using brooms to push the water out and dirt scoopers to throw it out. The rain lasted a good 45 minutes, but it flooded the house so bad that it took another 20-25 to finish throwing out the water and drying the floor. It was pretty frantic. To make matters worse, the electricity was knocked out for a few minutes. And the reserve water tank was knocked over, meaning we had no water to wash our hands, use the bathroom, make food, etc. It sucked, but luckily there was no real property damage besides some furniture and electronics and no one was hurt. I can see now why they don´t clog up the potholes on the roads. Thought I´d share that with you guys and remind most of you that you´re fortunate to be living in such cozy homes and (for the most part) economically stable. Be thankful for what you have and what you don´t have to go through.

In other news, I´m still writting the drafts for Team Genesis. I´m not sure whether I´ll submit some while here, but it´s coming along. Look out for it. And even here in Colombia there´s a lot of people mourning for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. May he Rest in Peace. Thank you for reading. For the most part, I have the story planned. The trick will be in putting it down on words. Plus, Doc DARVTC, his brother, and I will be heading for Colombia this Sunday and will be gone for 6 weeks. I'm going to continue writing Book 1 of Team Genesis while my stay in Colombia, but I can't guarantee that I'll be able to submit them as I make them. So there may be a drop in activity.

The way this story will work:
Team Genesis' story is composed of Four Books of at least 10-12 chapters. (That's a lot of reading yeah, but it's a lot of writting too). Book 1 marks the beginning of this rising team of heroes. Book 2 introduces a rival team. Book 3 marks a critical point where Team Genesis faces the evil coorp and discover many things. Book 4........ I'll keep that a secret.

I'm still looking for a good game to play and record for YouTube and I'm still seeking challenges for Platform Racing 2, but those are definetly coming to a halt during my stay in Colombia. That's all for now. marjosonic, over and out.

Unleashed's Day Levels were by far the best 3D Sonic experience I've had, so I was glad that they nixed Secret Rings and Adventure controls. Plus, you get to use a sword. That urged me to get it.
Storyline- For the most part, the stories in the Sonic games are pretty good. Save Next-Gen and in some parts Shadow, I like all the stories. Only the voice acting hurts it (although there are parts where 4Kids sound decent, but it's not enough).
Graphics- Even on the Wii, the graphics and the maps are incredible. If the voice acting was better, we'd have a Pixar of video games.
Music- Crush 40 is back, and I love all the music they put out for this game. The second SoaH put the music out, I got all the vocal trax.
So basically I was won over. And the problem with that is that I keep delaying making the deviations I want to make. So I hope not to get too into the game and find some time to submit a few deviations before summer is over. That's all folks.
P.S- I'm up for challenges on Platform Racing 2 and I still am looking for ideas for You Tube.

When announced her latest contest, I took the oppertunity to once again make a video to conclude the contest. Last time, it was a simple slideshow with pictures from and Missy, the top three previous contest winners, and other favorites. I don't regret making the video, but I felt like I did very little justice to the work of others. Plus, I felt that I did so little. So, I decided that this year, I'd spice it up. Initially, the video would include a few pictures and a lot of my own personal animations. However, upon completing the characters for the foxy-family (...... that sounded weird), I found that I couldn't get them to animate properly. Therefore, I found myself unable to animate like I hoped. Right when I was about to abandon the whole project, my best friend, the un-Deviant "Doctor DARVTC", who was helping me with this project, told me that I could do two things. The first was to save the models and make a picture of them. That's been done. [link] The second was to remake the entire concept to a much more simple animation without requiring complicated movement, even if it required to use more pictures. After beating my head a bit on the situation, here's what I came up with.

For this video, a sort of "house tour" scrolling around select pictures will be done, along with one small "frame-by-frame" animatic (not animation). Gameplay:
Daytime- Sonic was fast before, even on the Adventure series where the camera problems and glitches caused some slow downs. But this game fixes that and feels faster than ever with more control. The 3-D portions are a lot of fun and very realistic. 2-D portions are the "Welcome back to your roots Sonic" and deliver as it should. The Sonic Boost feature definetly adds on to the already fast gameplay. And the addition of the Quick Step and Sonic Drift definelty fixes the slowdowns SEGA has been having for a while. Not to mention the bobsled runs. And even on the Wii, the scenery and graphics are wicked. It feels like a completly new experience, yet very traditional at the same time. I do have one problem though. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk is somewhat of a pain during theses stages. You'd obviously have a better experience with the Wii Classic Controller or the Gamecube Controller, but then you take away from the Night time experience. That's one downside to it. Another is that there are only 7 day stages in this game (I don't know how many are on the 360 or PS3 version). I knew that there would be more Night time stages, but I hoped that there would be some more daytime stages than what was offered.
Night time (Werehog)- While it is true that the Werehog sections don't feel anything like a Sonic game should be, it's not bad for what it is. The fighting ability definetly works well and the level up feature adds on and makes it a bit more real to a sense that Sonic gets used to his Werehog powers the more he uses them. The Unleashed feature gave the idea of "last resort" during the game and brings a bit more to the game without over-doing it. And the use of motion control with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk gives you a full fighting experience. Graphics and scenery here definetly counted because at the pace you go, you now have a chance to appreciate it more. There are some problems of course. Sonic the Werehog is really slow at walking speed. It's better when he's dashing, but then you feel a loss of control later on, especially if your trying to jump (I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but it happens to me.) so it's a decision to go slow or somewhat uncontrollable. And after you play the fast paced daytime stages, going slow does bum you out a bit.
Music:
Two words: Loved it. The musical arrangements were very well done. Day time stages are exhillerating and fast paced like old-school Sonic music. Night time music is a bit more calm, but not peaceful. And that's how they both should be. Also not having the rock instrumentals in this game made sence. It works for Shadow the Hedgehog, but it might have been out of place here. It sure as hell didn't work for Sonic and the Secret Rings (with some exceptions). And the three main songs of the game:
Endless Possibility- By far my favorite Sonic song to date, if not personal favorite. The lyrics are great and it has a great beat. Jared Reddrick and the guys who arranged the song did a hell of a good job on it.
Dear My Friend- It's a good song, but it kinda sucks when compared to other songs out there. Whenever I listen to this song, I remember Worth a Chance, the ending theme of Secret Rings. While it was out of place there, it was a great song (I even chose this song for my video tribute to 's anniversary.) I don't think this song had that same effect, though it did feel more in place than Worth a Chance.
The World Adventure- Did anyone listen to this song and almost thought Super Mario Galaxy? lol. But seriosly, this is a great orchestral. It has that sence of adventure put into it, as it should be.
Story:
I liked it. It felt like a Sonic story from beginning to end. There was no part there that would make me say "Wait a minute, what the hell, that ain't right!" The characters involved were pretty well done. And the humorous nature of Chip during the beggining of the story really makes you want to chuckle a bit and bond with the guy all the way. Of course, 4Kids voice acting was pretty much mediocre. Thankfully, I don't put much emphasis on that because it just a minor detail that might never be fixed. Oh well

Today during passing time at school, I saw DARVTC in the top hallway (2nd floor). Out of nowhere, some guy went running and bumped him so hard that he got pushed over the rail. If I wasn't close to him when that happened, he could have died. But I was quick enough to get there and pull him back up. I was really relieved after that. Plus, I knew now that we are now officially even (We were sort of even after he made the embarassing mistake of posting a X video we made on MySpace without consent). I felt really good about myself. But before I could get a word out of him, DARVTC took off to the main office. At first, I thought he got embarrased and wanted to get away from the crowd. But he got to class a moment later as if nothing. I was left wondering what happened and I got my answer. At the end of the day, the announcements came on saying that we were not allowed to speak of this incident and the request of the student. Now I was confused and when school ended, I went to talk to him.

m- Doc (I call him Doc in RL), what was that all about?
D- What?
m- Don't play dumb with me; I'm talking about the announcment of not being allowed to talk about the inncident.

m- No jokes right now man, seriously what's up with that? You don't want people talking on how we're even now or what.

He knew I was right about that. He told me that the reason that he didn't want people talking about it is because he didn't want word to spread to his parents, who already have enough stress on their hands. I know first hand that true. His parents work their asses off just to keep their two sons and me (They're my legal guardians now) well. I feel really bad for them and promised DARVTC that they won't know about it. If they did, they'd have a panic. And that's the last thing we want. marjosonic was originally going to be mariosonic for my Newgrounds account, but it didn't allow it for some reason. I then remembered that in a flash animation, Mario's name was spelled "Marjo," so I used that instead. I joined DA because two of my favorite NG artists, and had DA and I wanted to be updated on them.
