Here's an update of my meddlings...

Work so far is a blast. Already two months in and I really don't have a complaint so far. My typing skills have gotten a bit better too, I feel like one of those typists from the original GITS OVA >.>

In terms of gaming, I just started importing recently and have added some really good games to my library. GGXX/, REZ, NH3, KOFXI, NGBC and MBAC rarely leave my PS2. I still play T5DR from time to time, but right now I am mainly trying to play GGXX/ and VF4E. For RPG's i've mainly been playing Radiata Stories and am about to get XS3. I also got a Gamefly account the other day, so now outside of a few games (FFXII and some fighting games) I will not be buying anything for a long time.

I've also been watching a lot of Naruto as well. Until now I really never liked any other shonen, but for some reason I kinda like this series. In high school everyone was talking about DBZ, and until I actually got CN my senior year I never really got a chance to watch it (I've seen most of it the past couple of years though). While I do like it, there's only so much Toriyama I can take lately. Naruto isn't perfect either (whereas DBZ has its 10 episode standstills, Naruto takes the cake with its overabundance of flashbacks), so most of my fondness for it comes from the character designs and a bit of the action. And no, I will NOT wear a headband at AWA or at any other con. EVER .

Art has been a bit slow, if not a bit trying. I've been working in my sketchbook constantly now so hopefully i'm actually improving and not digressing. I've some BIG projects coming up with some really cool clients, but due to the scenario at hand I cannot say anything clear at this time.

Durandal Saga is coming along great. I have a HUGE glossary with all the information i've come up with and will soon be releasing some of it as time goes by. All four of the main characters will see some changes in their design very soon, especially Alicia. Stay tuned...

So I'm almost finished with my training at Airtran Airways. What do I do? I'm the guy that'll be on the recieving end of the telephone lines booking your flights. Please be nice, por favor XD.

From what i've experienced so far, its a blast. Although i'm stuck in the office at 8 hours at a time, it really does fly by with calls coming in at all times. I don't mind the benefits either, flying for free nationally is pretty cool. I'm looking forward to next spring though, since now I can go to Japan with little to no cost compared to the original fare. Seriously, if any of y'all are in the GA area check this job out, its solid as hell.

Once I have enough material ready I will be opening a seperate DA account for my GN, Durandal Saga. Outside of the project itself I'm really trying to stay productive art wise by making a new piece at least once a week and sketching every day. I should have a lot of time to accomplish this, seeing as how I won't be attending school this fall due to lack of funds. Boo.

My gaming repretoire is pretty much the same. Haven't finished WA4 yet, kinda don't want it to end. T5DR is hella fun, looking forward to being able to practice it on PSP once it hits the US. I've gotten back in O2Jam, anybody else out there play this gem? Looking forward to FFXII, VF5, Okami, and all the other gems coming out this fall and spring. My next purchases will be SFAA and GGX2 (...again).

School is almost over. Nothing special to say, although i'm still surprised that i've kept HOPE for this long. During the summer I plan to travel to Savannah to check out SCAD. If i'm able to acquire the funds i'll be moving down in the fall, otherwise if that fails i'll be back at UWG in the fall. I may change my major (graphic design) due to the department supposedly being a bit lacking, but who knows (need advice on this).

Art wise i've been a bit more active lately, although it may not show here. Due to inspiration I have more than a dozen WIPs at the moment, each one coming by a bit smoothly. Most of these are part of a bigger project however. In the next couple of weeks I plan to dive right into my graphic novel, Durandal Saga. Soon i'll have up character sheets, cityscapes and concept designs for the world itself. I'll also be submitting a rough summary of the background and story very soon, so if you are interested stay tuned. Outside of Saga i've got some fanart coming in, including works based on Berserk, Tekken (duh) and Kingdom Hearts. In a month's time i'll re-subscribe to DA, as well as make an account with DAPrints. I've been doing commissions on a personal level for a year now, but as of now I want to bring it up on a broader level.

Gaming wise its picked up a little. On a competitive level I still play Tekken (DR) and recentely have gotten seriously into 3S. I've quit SC3 since it is one big joke in terms of programming, but once the ARC Edition comes out i'll pick it right back up (especially since Yunsung has been beefed up even more). I tried my hand at DOA4 the other day, and it is true: This game is just so different from the other franchises that I'm really having a hard time adjusting. Hopefully once I get used to it i'll enjoy it a bit more (Ein FTW). I beat KH2 last week, and outside of the ending (...) it was fantastic. Now i'm playing WA4 and so far I like it. I recently purchased BeatmaniaUS and once I get the money i'll be importing like a fiend. ITG is also taking up a lot of my time. XD

As far as school goes, I think I'm doing okay. Art Visual Comm is doing pretty well, and I'm really liking the idea of standing up in front of people and interpreting artwork. My final for this class is find which work of Michelangelos (La Pieta and the Pieta Rondanini) is superior in both a technical and spiritual sense. English is coming along fine, although I'd rather read anything else other than Jane Austin. It's not that I don't like her writing style, its just so dry. For next semester I'll be taking a myriad of classes, including Photography, Adv. Drawing, Anthropology and World History.

As for work, I quit my job at the arcade about a month ago. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED that job but the distance between home, school, and work was killing my paycheck. If I live closer in the future I'll definately try to work there again. Right now I am a seasonal team member at Target, which will last until January. I love it although some things are a bit stressing. Your score is kept if you work register, and basically your grade depends mainly on whether or not the guest can pay fast enough. Its not a big deal, but as fast as I ring up and bag I should e penalized for a guest's slowness. Maybe I'll find someway around this in the future.

In the gaming world i'm having a blast for the little time I put into it. SC3 came out a while back and although the game is glitched to hell and back I will still stick by it until there is no one willing to play in ATL. Right now I'm using Yunsung, Cass, Mina and Hwang. I still play Tekken, although SC3's hype kinda killed it for a week or two between the guys I play with. For RPGs I am currently in the middle of play FFX? (again), SMT Nocturne, SH Covenant and VP. I've gone to the dark side and am starting to FPS as well (Killzone).

Around July I started working at the Namco Time Out in Douglasville. One the bright side I've already become a bit less lazy and I get to hang out and watch some good matches of Tekken and whatnot. On the downside, I HATE CHILDREN AND THE PARENTS THAT BREED THEM. Thats a minor downside though. Over the past month I've actually gotten back into DDR as well as Chaos (as much as I hate to say it). I also have gotten much better with a stick and have stopped my long hatred for it. Hopefully by the time i'm done with college I will be somewhere in Namco, but I doubt it through their consumer branch.

In terms of transportation I still drive the good ol' Granny Tank. But by this time next month I will be in a shiny '02 Mustang. Somehow in the past month I've been able to learn Manual Transmission, which so far is a blast. I'm getting the Mustang through my brother, and because i'm such an awesome fellow it'll only cost me $500. Fantastic.

In terms of gaming I am now a racing whore (it must be a side effect of my new obsession with the stick shift). Right now I am playing NFSU2 at home, and Max Tune 2 at the arcade. Both are really fun, so much drifting! In terms of fighters I am still playing T5 very competitevly. I've gotten a good bit better, but i've got a long way to go before I can really hang with ATL. For RPG's, I am mixed up in a triangle of Legend of Mana, Vagrant Story and Alundra. All vergy good games. After a while I may finish up Xenosaga so I can get the sequel as well.

In the art world I am still alive. Lately i've been working on a lot of commishes for some friends at GaiaOnline. Outside of that I'm working on a few reference portraits as well including Ayumi Hamasaki, David Bowie (Labrynth!!!) and another that I haven't decided on yet. After I am through with these I am going to work on some fanart for SFA3 as well as Tekken.

I have recieved word recently that one of my pictures (the latest Sephy piccie) has been featured in the October issue of PSM. Thanks to ~onewingedjrocker for pointing that out to me. Huzza!

I've sorta some across a new colouring style as of lately, hopefully some of you can see the progress. Before, I was using the smudge tool like some fool, but now I know I can better express myself via a hard brush and low opacities. Basically I block in the whole picture in b&w and go from there, cleaning up from time to time. Then I select an srea and make it its respective colour all the while cleaning and fixing. Next time I will try using colors only from here on out, wish me luck. Also, I will be attempting to practice a bit more on reference work. Expect to see a large part of my work being reffered to majorly by photgraphs, still life or other peoples work (with permission if possible). All credit will be due, of course.

A peculiar thing on the DA community has happened as of late. In general (if you haven't heard yet), there has been a theif among us. This person was simply taking another artists piece, tracing general or specific areas (complete body, some accessories, etc) and then changed various things like hair, accessories and other assets. Usually this would not be a problem as the guilty was not selling them at this point, but no credit was given. The guilty party simply said that she had never seen the original works and that all was a coincidence. If this was only one piece, I would simply look the other way or badger on depending on my mood, but over eight pieces were found to be similar. After months of bickering the guilty party was banned but unfortunately more than five of our beloved members were taken down with her due to aggressive actions. While they did go against the book to get the public to see the light, I mourn for them. All of these brave souls are very talented individuals and should definately be found of on their resptecive new or existing sites. Bless you.

I've been in a bit of a gaming draught lately. While I am still rabidly playing Lumines, things are just getting boring. Luckily this is outside of Tekken, in which totally compensates the action and competition. My yearning for an RPG has grown bigger everyday though, and so far I just feel kinda meh. I finished BOFQ in May, but don't have the inspiration to go back for the SOL cutscenes yet. Lately I've been playing Vagrant Story, which is a blast. Hopefully when some money comes in I will get Stella Deus and Atelier Iris, which both sound promising.

Nausea aside, classes are now over and I can finally get to work without any scholarly cares. I'm thinking about working at the local video store seeing as the tax office I was previously employed is now off season. If all works well I'll have enough money saved to go to Las Vegas and to particpate in the EVO tournament in Tekken 5.

Speaking of Tekken 5, I can only say that I have gotten better with each time I play someone new. Recently, me and come of the Arbor Place crew went to Raleigh, NC for a tournament. Not to sound cocky (but confident), I was probably one of the best Asuka players present, and out of the 50 people that attended I tied for 17th. Hell, as long as I have a leg up on KingJin and Wishboy, I may have the best Asuka in the SE! But I guess the only way to prove that would be more larger tournaments, so here I go!

In celebration of EVO2K5, I will be participating in the T-Shirt design. According to the rules, I have to include characters from Tekken, SF, and GG. Hopefully I am not over my head here.

My good old car, the GrannyTank (Bonneville) has yet again foiled my bank account. The other morning while picking up some medicine for me mum, my water pump fell off. IT FELL OFF. Consequently, my power steering went to shit, and I had to shell out $50 dollars on various replacements. Thankfully, both my engine and my oil will be changed with the help of my loving brother.

PSP TYME. That's right, I got a PSP aong with UL and Lumines. Go me!

The next change is my new purchase: a Graphire 3 Tablet. Why didn't I get a tablet sooner?! I really love the control, and simply from playing around I can tell this instrument is never going to leave my side. Expect big things this summer.

One of the bigger projects I'll be working on this summer is my MAX CUSTOM Tekken series, in which I am going draw one picture for each character in T5 in customized form, with atleast one costume for each character. Not only will this be great practice, but I will finally be able to all get my fanart obsession out of my system. The next character in line is the 1P costume of Asuka, so stay tuned!

Like I mention, I dropped English as of the end of February. I think it may have been the case that I had a beast of a teacher, but I can't leave out the harshness of the grading rubric. Until I can find time to go to the writing lab, I just couldn't bear to see another miserable essay grade.

Life Drawing is going by pretty fast, as well as 3D Comp. We are finally up to expressive works, even though I still can create decent proportions to save my life. We recently made Personality Cups in 3D, and my Hand Cup looks quite nice. We are doing whistles right now. I'm thinking about making something of the recorder persuasion, with the insrument being in the shape of a sword handle.

Finally, my friend (Trey) will be getting married this week, with me as the best man. I guess I gotta think of a speech, eep.

3D Comprehension: Totally different from 2D. Fun, I mean. The professor is a little monotonous, but so far the projects have been a blast and he even lets us out after 2 hours instead of 3.

Life Drawing: The professors Irish, of course the class is awesome! Actually, because the woman is so into it, I barely can tell what I am supposed to do half the time. After a month my figures are already looking a good bit better, no?

English Comp. II: Since it focuses on the literary side more than the argumentative area, I'm a bit more excited compared to 1101. We just finished "She's Come Undone", which is just about too crazy for a book belonging to Oprah's book club.

Art History II: What can I say, the woman relates everything to sex, of course I like it! I can now bullshit my way through any piece (talking about its design and philosophical meaning through Divine Numbers and Geometry) thanks to her.

My job at the tax office is getting really busy lately. Atleast i'll get paid more since the other receptionist is heading back to school.

Lately I've been spending a lot of time on the weekends at the mall hanging out with guys at Time Out. There's no telling how much money I've already spent on Tekken 5, but competitive-wise it'll be worth it.

The consequence of hanging out with both them and my job is that I haven't been back up to see my friends at the UCC, which frankly tears my heart in two. If y'all are reading this, I am truly sorry that I haven't been able to make it to the table lately, and hopefully I can crawl out of my boss's fingers soon enough to see y'all.

Art related, I am currently working on a piece for whoever wins 1st place for Tekken 5's South East Regionals. Hopefully I can get it done by the 19th.

And the worst part about the month is the fact that my best frien Trery is graduating from Basic in South Carolina on the 18th, as well as getting married that same afternoon. The trouble is that with it being mid-term season as well as tax season, I may not get to see him before he ships off to CA.

The crisis with Adam ended without a wondrous climax. After about a week my parents believed his promises and he is now back to taking advantage of our family and we are just as happy as clams. I have not uttered a word to him since that night.

I went to a shooting match with my grandfather some time after. I basically went up against a few people my age as well as a bunch of veterans and gun buffs. I took 4th on the 50 yard target, and 6th on the 100 yard target. As a result, I got bullets (wtf?) for christmas from my grandfather. Gotta love the old coot.

Christmas when by pretty well. I didn't ask for much, because for once in my life I just wanted to be with my family. Fortunately though, my selfish side got a taste of 300$ for clothes ( ). After purchasing some very sexy garments for the new year, I bought a new controller and a used copy of Spy Fiction.

My job at the tax office started up yesterday, and so far its been fun if I don't think about all the filing. I have enough time though that maybe i'll be able to finish this lovely picture for :ladydove7: 's contest. Hopefully I can make it in time!

Gaming in general has been a blast. I finished MGS3 last week, and undoubtedly it is the best thing since sliced bread. Tekken 5 has been taking up a lot of my time at the arcade. Solid all the way

Over an hour ago, my family had a fight involving my brother. My brother-"the typical sob story-(quoting my parents), is heavily in debt. Ever since he was 18, he has moved in and out of the house almost 6 times. Since last year he has been fired from a job 7 times. He has nothing, except his temper.

Well, the fight ensued mainly because Adam flew off the handle for something my mom said (nothing related to him).Talking went to yelling, and yelling went to pushing, and pushing led to Adam's door being knocked off. Dad and...him really got into it, so much I decided to play hero and and get in between them....which leads to injury number 1. Basically, while trying to calm Adam down, I kinda sorta got my arm dislocated.

Anywho, everyone calmed down. Now Round Two.

After a bit, my brother came upstairs and left in his car, saying he was going to kill himself. Don't worry, after about the third time he squealed around the driveway, you could tell he was bluffing. Next, after coming back to the house slightly intoxicated, he goes into the kitchen for a knife...and precedes to cut himself while infront of my parents. I took that as my cue to call the police.

4 squad cars, 2 ambulances, and 1 firetruck later(didn't mean to call half the county!!), Adam is still at the house due to the cops affirming that he wasn't a "threat", just drunk. With that loveable knowledge in the foreground, Adam gleefully handed his keys to dad. But here comes the part I just adore so much. After the police made the way, Adam tries to get his keys back, and thus another fight begins. This time, I wasn't letting him hurt anyone or himself.

While pinning him down, I got the usual empty drunk threats. But what set me off was an open threat to kill me, and the rest of the family, along with him. Unfortunately, while shocked, he took advantage of the moment and clawed my face. I wish they looked more like Squalls, but compared to what I left him with, I look pretty good.

So here I am in the upstairs bedroom, with my alarm clock and the only real sword in my collection, getting ready for bed. Sadly, my parents are chalking it up it drunkeness, so no one is going in a cell tonight. Don't be surprised to see my newly acquired beauty marks Monday

Our last project deals with colour. Is it fun? It can be. Basically, its a self portrait (what is it with last projects for freshman being self portraits, wtf?) but a slight twist is in order. I have to have some sort of transition in the picture. It can be anything from opposition to change of character, what have you.Another point is that it can only be in one colour and its compliment. I want to try bringing elements i've learned over this semester (creating a metal effect, feathers, etc) so right now I think i've got a really nifty idea:

Picture me (for those who don't know what I look like, imagine a really cute fat guy) in my first personality. This persona will be sitting, leaning forward. I'm thinking pain, so some sort of grimace or furrowed brow. I mention pain because he's being stabbed by my new and present persona. Now to tell them apart...The first "me" has curly, unkempt hair and all his accessories (2 bracelets and a ring) on the left hand. He also adorns tattered wings, which signifies his end. The new "me" has a more cropped stylish look about his noggin, and his accessories are on the right hand. His wings will be spanned out a bit, looking quite sharp. The stabbing weapon will probably be ornate, haven't thought into it that much. For colours i'm thinkin red and green, or blue and orange.

Anywho, outside of that horrid project, I've got a bunch to do. My next piece will probably be a real anime cg study, I can't wait to show it off! While that's going on, i'll be continuing my work for *ladydove7 's contest.

On a side note, i'm finally getting my carpet replaced tomorrow, score!!!!! I really want to throw a party for the end of this semester, so this really helps. It'll basically be a geek-fest; DDR, fighting games, anime, naught party games, the usual

Lastly, I think i've found a new hobby. From this day forward i've become a competitive range shooter. Maybe its because of my grandfather (glorified olympic rifleman/sniper) but I've taken a shine to it over the holidays. From what i've learned, I could have a good future in the sport if I put some time into it. But for now, the only reason I want to do it is to spend time with my grandfather. Sadly, its better now than never.

Heh, I wish I loved FPS more than the real thing. FPS is teh SUK!!!!

My parents and I had a little skirmish last night, nothing big. Let's just say I'll be doing some hardcore job hunting in the next few days until my tax office gig kicks up in January.

My art....bah. I really need to practice Painter. I do love the program, but the results are muddy and are not as tight as I want them to be. I've got so many sketches I want to put up and paint, but school has gotten ever so busy :tear:.

So far, I do have a few things to do. I've a got a short term project going on for *ladydove7 's contest, and so far my plans for it are pretty nifty. A lot of my future pic's will definately be scene oriented, I really want to stray from just figure drawing.

On a more serious note, one of my new friends I've met at UWG ( *catrin ) got injured in a car wreck last night. My heart goes out to her and I really hope she will get better real soon

Well, since I am finally getting a job, that means I can save up for things a really want. A Wacom Tablet, Copick (sp?) markers, and a fresh set of Micron Pens. Gamewise, my next purchases will be:

I have no idea why, but I have rekindled my semi-fanaticism with J-Pop/Rock. Especially Gackt. He may be a wierdo, and his vibrato is of the hook, but for some reason I like his work. It might be something I would use in karaoke, that's probably why I like it, I don't know .

I need to start my research on my I-search project soon (a research essay for english that reflects on what the writer's "freak" is. And lo and behold, I decided to research the field of concept artists. The whole process will be fun I'm sure, since its what I want to do.

And before its brought up, yes I know that the career field for CA is very hard to get into, and that if I tried now with my experience I'd get as far as my front door. But nevertheless, its something I'm willing to be starving for, so nyah.

The cosplay I observed was really well done. Even some of the overdone Naruto costumes looked somewhat original . * ladydove7 's costume of her original character was teh roxors, I really was blown away . Many of the popular anime's were covered, but outside of the bigwig game costumes and the Tetris cosplay, nnothing really stood out for me remember right now.

The dealers room, while pricey and somewhat redundant, was really kickass. I'm really kicking myself for not buying a mini dance pad now, Mission Mode on EX is a pisser. Anywho, the big buy for me happened saturday when I bargained the price of a Sleeping Griever necklace set form $50 to $35

Video Game rooms outside of the SC tournament were okay. Nothing crazy happened and the winstreaks were gold as long as I didn't bring out Yun against anyonhe of worthy taste. The Bemani arcade was cool though, especially the fact that I finally played BBDKOG3 mix on the 5th mix machine. Pump it Up was there too, crazy fun I tells ya.

Now for the dissapointment: the Tournament. It wasn't the fact that I lost (placed 9th out of 30 or so), but that the directors were total asshats and hypocrits all together. Rule wise, the tourny was almost decent. However, when the big day comes and we are ready to play, almost every single ruled that had been posted was turned around. 30 second matches? Infinite. Double Elimination? Single. No multiple button shortcuts? Allowed. The promise of multile controller converters? Only one.

What irked me the most was the fact that one of the directors said, and I quote,"If you can't use every type of controller for a fighting game and still win, then obviously you shouldn't be in a tournament." I feel that this is an abrupt slap to my face. What about the people that don't play on certain consoles, how does that make them suck? If I can't gaurd cancel Yun's B~K(g) into a simple A+G throw, we've got a problem. For me, Xbox and Gamecube controllers suck for fighting games harder than an alter boy before morining mass. One moment so I can vent a little more:

FUCK THEM!!!!!eleventy-one11111!1!1!!!!

I swear, if I ever see those idiot's again, I will personally put money on the line for a match and hand there asses to them. BAH!

Graduation is only 5 days away!!! I really am looking forward to going to college, but there are a few things I'll miss about high school. Anywho, the home front is okay, with the exception that instead of 4 people living here there are eight . My privacy has gone out the window, as well as my liesure time on the PC (which explains my hiatus from painting).

News for DDR:

AA all 7 and 8 footers with the exception of Vanity Angel and Waka Laka.
No AA's on catas yet, but I'm passing a new one each day! Yesterday I A'd .Orion(CivMix) and B'd HVAM on my first try. Finally, the only ten footers I've passed so far are Sakura and Bag, but hopefully they won't be the last

Next, Cordova mall sucks! I was told that it had a great arcade, and that there were a good bit of gamers to meet. Well, no there were neither of the two. No ttt, A broken T4 machine, no cvs2, a hogged up DDR machine and time crisis...boy, I sure was excited ...
