Between 2 places, in more than 1 way

I have effectively finished my studies. I do not have to study for exams, do homework, other assignments, prepare presentations or write papers anymore. I handed in my final thesis last Friday. I still need to go to University until the end of classes though.
This is where I feel like I'm in between two places. We do not have a official graduation ceremony. We go to class, hand in that thesis, write a couple of exams and then go our homes of 3 years to find someone to live there next semester. You get your certificate unceremoniously mailed by post.
I have finished studies, but I can't move on with my life. Even when I move away from here I will stay with my parents until I have found a job. Another place in between.

But now to the place I am in between, artistically speaking. John Howe (www.john-howe.com) put it into words on his forum:

This rather silly cliché of the "agony of the blank canvas/sheet" is simply expecting to do something without any preparation at all. It is overestimating and underestimating yourself, both expecting too much and selling yourself short and confusing to some degree inspiration, information and execution.

On the other hand, the nagging sentiment that [another forum member] mentions, that of having better things one should be doing, and fretting vaguely about time passed but not well spent, is, I believe, endemic to the profession, whether it be what you make your living off or not. It's a permanent state of mind when the things you do artistically depend on you and you alone. When you are creative in a group environment, it is very different.

I have to get my room ready for the prospective flatmates who will be looking at it this afternoon and I will take this as an opportunity to not only tidy up more than ever but also create a good creative atmosphere to draw and paint in. With only 12 m², things tend to clutter up rather rapidly.

My mum has commissioned me to do another wedding card for someone she knows so I hope this will kick my artistic self in the butt.

PS: I would love to use the "Keep Dreaming" Journal skin because it's got a tree and 'the other side', but I need a sub for that...
PSS:
Inkiiiiiiiiiiiii!
How cool is that, you gave me a dA sub for the three months that I will be 100% unemployed with a LOT of time at my hands! I will make your generosity known to the world :-D And I can use that journal skin that I liked so much! Weheeee how can I thank you back!?
Thanks so much again!
Mon

I am in hospital from today (Sunday late afternoon) till the end of the coming week. When I come out again, my deviated septum will hopefully be fixed and I can breathe like all you normal people I am also taking my sketchbook with me - if circumstances permit, I will sketch.

UPDATE:
I can breathe freely now, the septum is gone! Well, not all of the septum but the part that (according to my doc) touched the left outer wall of my nose. Now it's like having two metal pipes for nostrils with cool air coming through (no crooked septums in the way that warm the air up or stuff). And if you shout into them, you can hear an echo. Hehehe!
The doc also made my turbines smaller.
During last week, there were some pretty nasty moments when I seriously questioned my actions. The first night, the nose was so swollen and the blood couldnt go anywhere but through my eye where it dried and glued my eyelashes together. Not to mention the moment when they removed the packaging and the splints came out along with it.
Now, half of the swelling is gone and I "only" feel like I have a very bad flu. Circulation is bad at the moment, I get dizzy a lot and even eating makes me unbelievably tired.
The entire next week will be dedicated to recovery and maybe also reading and painting. My attention span is not very long at the moment and it's difficult to stay focused.
Anyways I am glad so many people thought of me during my hospitalisation, it made it a lot easier to have visitors coming every day - especially as my family couldn't come due to distance restrictions (except my mum, she made it and helped me come home again today).
If anything of the above doesn't make sense or is too graphic, blame my current state of health.

I hope you like it.
My to-do-list for this study break (5 weeks left) as far as art is concerned:

- a couple of Christmas cards / ideas for cards (yeah, I don't want to start working on that in November, cause that's what happened last time, and I would've been happier to come up with several cards to choose from)

- Theme of the Month on john-howe.com for March: WIP:

- draw some of those wonderful castles in the book I got for my birthday

- Illustration Fridays

- life drawings (to get my hand/eye coordination back into shape)

- ...

... erm, I should stop here before I take on too much.
So, in a nutshell, I want to be creatively productive in the next few weeks.
Feel free to keep me accountable, and if possible - inspired!

Wow, 1000 page views!
Thanks everyone, you caught me unprepared. I was going to write a super nice journal entry for the 1000th page view milestone but right now my mind is occupied with what I should have for supper. All day at University and my lunch was [insert negative term here].
Still, I can say that I have made a little progress with the illustrations and the children's story. You'll see it some time around Christmas here on dA hopefully. Also I intend to do another special Christmas thingy next weekend. Maybe. University has been keeping me too busy recently. The more that happens, the more I feel compelled to ignore studies and paint&draw instead.
So while I am off to the supermarket, have a look at this wonderful artist website I found the other day. It is really inspiring, not only the artwork!

Finally, my first journal entry most of you can probably do without. The occasion though is that there are 800 people who have viewed my dA page as of today and I just want to say Thank you to those who have commented on my doodles, drawings & paintings and have given me helpful tips, suggestions and encouragement!
I hope I can increase the Pageview number in the future when my technique has improved
Here's a couple of deviants I just love watching:
If you are not among them then that doesn't mean that I don't like your work, it just means that I don't have as much time and need to go.
