A:  Style isn't something you "come up with", its an exhalation of all of the things you consume. I'm interested in fashion, architecture, design, gadgets, old movies, etc... Re:  The Tao of penciling

1. First off the storytelling stuff. Storytelling is probably more important than raw drawing talent. You could be a really fantastic artist, but If you can't sell the story to a reader then Marvel or DC isn't interested.

-You need a decent establishing shot. The reader would be a bit lost on these pages because you haven't sold them a well defined environment. Not every panel needs one, but you usually need a set up shot on every page

I experimented with penciling, inking, coloring, and painting digitally once I got my cintiq. It worked really great for everything except for the inking. And then, only because I found myself getting too wrapped up in the details. I could zoom way in on a face and spend 15 minutes on it, when I could ink it manually in a few seconds.
