Hello all,

I hope the holidays are going great for all of you so far! It doesn't seem like it should be so close to Christmas already! Where does the time go?

I received a copy of EXOTIQUE 5 today- its mindblowing how much art can be packed into one little book! Many many beautiful arts in there; I feel very honored to have been included!

On a side note, has anyone been playing Modern Warfare 2? I can't seem to stop playing it. I've been unable to play the multiplayer mode though, it won't find a game to connect to for some reason..anyway..

I feel some MacTavish inspired art coming on..

Mac versus Windows

Apologies for the lack of activity, guys! Things have been busy lately in life and I've not had as much time to be online.

So, I'm looking into investing in a Mac as my next computer. (which will be a while from now, considering how sad my money situation is)I've never owned or used a Mac, so, for all of you Mac and Windows users alike, could you lend your honest opinion on a Mac versus a Windows PC in terms of performance and program crashes? I really need something that can hold up to my large PS files without much or any lag. Not crashing as often would be nice. Even with frequent saves crashing still gets old. Refurbished or not? Is the Apple store the cheapest place to buy, or are there better deals to be had?

Also, I mentioned to a few friends that I would do this, so I'd like to take this opportunity introduce the newest member of my furry family, Grania.

I also had the wonderful opportunity to be featured in this month's iussue of Fantasyana Publishing's AMAZING EVENTS!

Some of you may or may not remember me discussing my beagle mix in a previous journal entry. ^^ Anyway, I thought I would take a moment to introduce her to you. Meet Yuki, my precious beagle/running walker mix.

She was born with a cleft lip and palate. (its not very noticeable in this photo, but her nose area is very unique) Her mother abandoned her shortly after birth because of her difference from the rest of the litter and her inability to nurse properly. So, I took her in, and have been caring for her since her first 24 hours of life. She has lead a normal healthy life, that is, until earlier this week. Monday, she apparently injured her neck, which has triggered bouts of seizures. My sis and I have barely slept in this time, staying up all night and day caring for her. She is on medication for it now, but her veterinarian said it may take a few more days for enough medication to gather in her system to keep them suppressed. I'll keep you guys updated with her progress.

I'm sick again, how does this keep happening?!

I've recently had the honor of contributing an article for 2DArtist Magazine's May issue, which is on sale as of today! Its a walkthrough of the creation process of What a Shame. I actually haven't seen the magazine myself, my internet won't stay connected long enough to download. I'm forced to bum a connection from my aunt in order to check my mail and keep updates available to my clients.

Jobless..and broke! :O

Eh, as the title states, I am jobless...and seriously broke swimming in a mass of doctor bills..(and veterinary bills..my beagle mix just got back from surgery! Now I have to pay my parents back...agh..) I've applied for many jobs in my area to no avail. Most that I applied for weren't even art related, but they were jobs that make money that I really need. So I'm wondering, asking myself- is it possible for me to establish a living out of freelance work from my home? Am I good enough for that? Am I FAST enough for that? Would I have enough work to get by on my bills? It would be the ultimate job, at least for me....if it would work.

So now... I'm considering stepping into full time freelancing...(if anyone has any ideas on how to write a freelance work contract, please help! ) Also, if anyone has any ideas on work that I may be able to do from home, I'd really appreciate it. ^^

I just downloaded the Zbrush 30-day trial-- it is INSANELY awesome! I've been attempting to dabble in the 3D world, but the mental transition from 2D to 3D was a killer with the 3D programs I tried. This is different. Its like painting a 3D sculpture; definitely the most incredible program I've tried in a LONG time...now I want it.

Making progress.....sloooowly

Working on finishing up a few projects-- Here's the one closest to the finish..I know it doesn't exactly make up for a finished piece, but I'm working on it!

For the story background: The girl is lost in a dark forest; creatures with long, sharp claws are chasing after her. She cannot escape without the aid of the fish she carries, which acts as a compass, leading her in the right direction so that she may escape the forest. The story actually has some personal meaning.. at the time I began the piece I could really relate to the image by matters of my personal life..the glowing fish represents those that pulled me through my hypothetical forest..haha.

Any critique would be extremely appreciated.

Hello! I'm out to fulfil my news years resolution~ (auctally its #5 on the list- do NOT neglect dA account this year.) The top two are to attend at least one nude figure study class (which I have never done before,ever), and to have more fun!

I would also like to apologize to those of my watchers that witnessed my latest piece "Forgotten"'s disappearance. It was a deviation for about 15 minutes yesterday, then I decided I would make it exclusive and thus removed it. However, you may check it out at my zazzle store; I've made a huge poster of it. (yay!) I'm moving into my new home shortly and the colors go perfect with my decor..plus he's very handsome. I'll be updating the store's merchandise in the near future. I'm currently working on some new ideas that I think would make great items. Any requests for products will be considered.

Goodbye 2008

Hello!

I hope all is well and that everyone has had a wonderful holiday!The new year is almost upon us; its a shame the year has went by so quickly. Anyway, here's to a fantastic new year!

That aside, for the last months I've been feeling a bit under the weather and(to my regret!)spent that time away from painting. However, I'm beginning to feel somewhat better and have started work on some new projects. I've released a cropping of something that I've been working on this week, which you can find here~

I've been considering working towards creating an artbook of my work sometime in the future. I'm not 100% convinced on the idea, so if you think you would be interested in seeing it happen, let me know~

Also! Since I'm already writing- over the Christmas holiday, I've had the opportunity to purchase a few puzzles here at DA. Here's one puzzle in particular that I so thoroughly enjoyed putting together that I thought I would share my postive experience with you.

This deviation ROCKS and puzzle form makes it rock even more. It's super complicated because most pieces look generally the same, but it looks incredible when its finished. I love it, and now I'm encouraging any of you puzzle fans to try it out for yourself.

~8 things about me~

1. I'm right handed.

2. I work mostly digital these days, but I've discovered lately that I'm very passionate about working in carbon and charcoal.

3. I'm a procrastinator.

4. I have a very hungry sweet tooth. (I've had several root canals in this year alone as a result...)

5. I unknowingly lick my lips when I'm concentrating, especially when I paint. Bad habit. My lips stay sore for days after a good day of painting.

6. I have a cat, (Tidus, named after Final Fantasy X's Tidus) that sadly, I can never pet or hold him in my lap like most normal cats. He has quite the temper and very sharp claws. I've found ways to work around his temper though, and so, we get along as long as I don't make a habit of petting him too often.

7. I'm planning on buying a lolita outfit for halloween as my excuse to wear it year 'round. (If anyone knows of somewhere relatively inexpensive online that I can buy from other than ebay, please let me know!)

8. I'm thinking of opening commissions for custom paintings, providing that anyone is interested.

Daily Deviation

I'm at a total loss for words right now but here we go-

I logged on this morning, still half asleep. Everything was business as usual..until I looked up and saw that my message centre was overflowing! I sat for a moment, wondering if it could really be what I thought that it might be. So, slowly, I moved the mouse and visited the daily deviations page...and there it was. What a Shame!! (the title is a bit conflicting with my mood right now, haha)I cried with joy; I was shaking. (I still am!) Its just so unbelievable, I'm overwhelmed with joy and excitement right now!!

I want to give a HUGE, HUGE thank you to =missy-g and ^cosmosue! Its truly an honor. I'm so grateful to both of you. This is extraordinary.

To all that have commented, faved, watched and supported. THANK YOU ALL!! I'm so grateful for your support. I'll be replying to all messages just as soon as I can!
