I know it's been a damn long time since I've really showed any activity on deviantART, but I'm going to more or less hang around here more....which I've said in the past, but now I've got a MySpace <3
I never thought I'd cross over to that side, but hey, there you go.

Exams finished all right for year 10, I did average so in year 11 it's time to start working. I chose Physics, Chem and Construction Technology (and Pure Mathematics). I don't know how I'll cope though, since we've got broadband and 40GB of downloads a month, I think we'll start having a lot more spare when it comes time to study etc.

Not much has changed this year. Or, you could say a lot. *Akira-Yamano has disappeared off the face of the earth, and only recently it's been sort of resolved. He's taking a break. From the net. I've made a bunch of awesome friends, and not limiting that to school I've got awesome mates like ~DISTORTED-TRUTH who I've really got to know.

I've had a lot more parties and more of a social life this half of the year as well, which is always good.

And my music taste has changed somewhat, with more love for bands such as The Killers, a bit of The Verve, and The Doves, i don't know....but damnit I still love Wolfmother!

But, for the important part, Merry Christmas! I'm wishing everyone on here a happy and joyful Christmas, and while it's definitely depressing for a lot, it's also happy, and...I don't know. Also, I read somewhere on someone's journal that dA was a bit touchy about people's cultural beliefs or whatever. I respect that, but fuck the rules....Merry Christmas all! Peace and love to everyone, hope you get presents, and =4G0NY hope you can visit us sometime and tell us how things are going with your sweet!

]]> ~me-myself Condolences http://me-myself.deviantart.com/journal/9973925/ http://me-myself.deviantart.com/journal/9973925/ Tue, 05 Sep 2006 07:20:40 PDT A few days ago, on the 4th of September, Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, was out in a boat filming a documentary on ocean wildlife, called 'The Ocean's Deadliest'. Steve and the crew had been filming it for a few days, and this particular day it was rainy and it wasn't good for filming.
Unhappy to simply sit around on the boat all day, Steve and the cameraman headed off in the shallows of Batt Reef, which is close to Port Douglas, near Cairns in Australia. They were doing this extra shooting for his daughter's own TV show on marine wildlife, and they went near a stingray to do a shoot on it. Steve jumped out and swam with the stingray, when all of a sudden the stingray reared its tail up and struck Steve, with its poisonous barb, directly in the heart.

This is the first incident of a fatal stingray attack since 1945.

Steve Irwin, or The Crocodile Hunter, brought joy and happiness to millions of people across Australia and the globe. He was the face of Australia for most people in other countries such as America, and he was well known by everyone in Australia. I think I can personally say that, while not knowing him, I felt like I knew him; he was a true blue Aussie spirit. I looked up to him as a legend, a figure in my life that can't be replaced. I share my condolences to the rest of Australia, his wife and kids.

He has two children, Bindie Sue who is 8 and Bob, who is 2. His wife, Terri, was in Tasmania at the time.

Crikey. Who saw this one coming. He was a figure, he was The Crocodile Hunter, and he was larger than life; I don't think that anyone would have expected this. The story spread around the internet like wildfire.

Went and saw The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. I guess it was as I expected, not all that bad. Some of the driving was kickass, and some of it [intentionally] really sucked. And it also had a good line of humour, right up until the Fortune RX-7 got ploughed into, and then it kind of blew up. All in all, I think the way they portrayed drift was kind of....I don't know, different. Off somehow.

And I also saw Cars

That is so the coolest movie as! You have to see it!

That the amount of people who are interested in dA increases daily?

And the fact that so many artists have found a platform to dicuss and present their work to others?

Without a doubt it's a big, interesting and versatile community.

But isn't it amazing to always see the same artists on the frontpage every single day concerning the fact that so many new deviations have been submitted?

We're all aware of that and believe that this has to change. It is already quite difficult for the "unknown" artists to promote their work and gain more attention.

Clearly, we do not intend to deny the skills of those great artists who enrich the community by sharing their magnificent work. But we do intend to enhance the platform in such a way that "unknown" artists might get a real chance to draw the public attention to their own pieces of work by promoting it on the front page of the community.

In our opinion we think it unjust to only have the chance to be represented on the front page if one has the luck of having many watchers.

We would like a better system which allows a deviation to be seen on the front page if, for example, it has 'only' reached about 40 favourites and about 200 views.

Take a look at the actual situation: You have uploaded an impressive piece or art that gets faved according to the number of your total views/watchers. Then, however, a more popular deviant uploads a more or less 'average' deviation and automatically reaches more than the double of your favourites/views in a mere moment.

A new structure of the frontpage could enhance the actual competition on dA, i.e. popular deviants wouldn't be able to best the "unknown" artists by posting a rather average deviation.

A reasonable alternative to present the "daily top favourites" on the front page would be a bigger amount of thumbs which would show the 40 best deviations of the day in a random order.

We think it's in everyone's interest to change the current situation and make dA a place where creating and sharing unique art plays a far bigger role than scrambling for new watchers.

This one I've just written, I waited a few days before uploading because I wanted to see if deviantART could change the 10 megapixel upload limit (since the tutorial is over that, and I didn't particularly want to scale it down). Did I mention I had fun cutting iPod cables? That's why I opened it up with a pocket knife and crumbled away the battery cords. So, I put it back together and gave it to Apple. They fired one right back at me with a brand new one, under warranty. So, all youse who want a new iPod, send it to me and i'll keep it.

I'm back folks. camp was damn awesome, so i'll tell you about it. The camp's at the Elcarim site, a christian campsite.

On monday we went to the camp, unloaded, i drove kamonji (a friend) there. Then we went down to the camp (i swear, the hills were frickin huge and heaps bad) and got a tree bed (which is a rectangle of sturdy wood with mesh across it so you can sleep on it). I strung it to a tree with dan's help, put tarpaulin over it and then got comfy. So, we went down and did some stuff i can't remember, then i slept through the night (fucking cold!)

In the morning we had to go for a swim in the lake at like 6 am because i'm in the Elite challenge part of camp. Of course, i slept in regardless of being tipped out of the bed. This cost me a trial in the court, which is like a joke and really funny. So i got the capital punishment from the jury, a full head-to-toe coverage in the mud pool. Seriously the mud is pure brown and i was covered in it, me and a mate went in it. So then we got a hot showa which rawks.

Later on we had lunch which was like fruit, and then we did activities and then cooked our own tea on the hobo stoves. (no joke that's what they're called).
Afterwards we did the evening activity, which is the challenging night walk. we walked in the pitch black moonlight through blackberries, up 86 degree slopes, raced down hills, got wedgies and the like

Bedtime.

Next day was weet-bix and porridge for breakfast. Then we do the activites, have recess, activities, lunch, activities, make dinner, make next day's lunch, do the night activity. I'll just tell you the highlights.

On thursday night we had to wake up for the elite challenge at 0100 hours (1 AM). We took off our shoes and crept around trying to get past the girls' camp nightwatch and stuff (MAJORE F*ING FUN)!!!!!

oh yeah, that reminds me. new kfc slogan.
KFC = All we need is U!

so then we went to bed. Friday night come we had packed up all our beds and luggage, so we got a tarp and slept under a tree under the moonlight (i had to sleep downhill on top of a stick, couldn't be f*d moving it). The actual challenge was to stand on a tiny paver for the whole night (about 10:30 PM till 6 AM) but i crashed at 11:30 PM and slept on the tarp, with 2 pairs of socks, 2 jeans, 2 shirts, jacket, scarf (thanks jess) and shoes. I barely took off my shoes while we were there. So that was that.

Basically the camp is all about fending for ourself.

in the same night as the outdoor sleep, the year 10's, 11's, 12's, and staff had a major party with coke, pepsi, and all the confiscatized lollies from us. I tried to smuggle in a packet of starburst inside an empty shampoo bottle. Well, we weren't allowed shampoo so they took that, and later on i got busted. But from what i hear the lollies taste like shampoo so sucked in.

Also made lots of friends _{and lots of hugs}

take for example paul, who came along, he's finished year 12 and studying at uni. He was there helping out as a volunteer, with lots of udda ones. He's awesome on the acoustic guitar, which makes me want to go out and buy a cheap $20 one that i can just strum on whenever i want one. he's a legend, was heaps nice to me and all.

Then at the final devotion, while big old Mr D was praying he became all emotional and choked on his words, poor bloke. It really touches you to see a grown man cry. I'm coming back to camp next year to help out. definitely.

What else? Hmm i can't think of much else. oh yeah, we raided the year 10's tent because they confiscatized our lollies, so we stole a block of chocolate and marshmallows. I hope next year if i go to camp that the little bastards don't steal mine.

BACK UP.

before you screw with your partitions, as i recently found out. It's such an awesome idea to install a secondary Windows XP on your hard drive specifically for gaming, until partitionmagic fucks up and you're stuck with scrambled partition tables and a piece of shit hard drive that doesn't want to boot.

But shit happens huh.
So i basically lost everything. a few years' worth of websites, lots of photos, ALL MY GRAPHICS WORK PSDs, all my programs, the lot.
Thank god for iPods.

Because they're so cool, i can keep all my music on there (and i later copied it back to my computer), plus a bunch of apps, photos and games. So thankfully not everything was lost. My photos contain just my vector work, stock car images, and some other ones.

Now, let us assume that my music on the iPod somehow screwed up.

I would just die.

But i am alive, so yeah.
Now I'm off to try that XP installation again.

see a longa time ago in australia before yo mama was born when i was about 4, they had Dr Pepper. Then they stopped importing it and made me unhappy.
so i went to the indian shop round the corner from our hotel the other day (before we rented the motorhome) and they sold Dr Pepper, liek OmFgZzZzZ!! i haven't seen any of it around new zealand (we've done a round trip) so maybe everyone can donate me a can. I'm gonna go back there and buy the whole shop out of mista pepper. love that stfu...oops

It rawks. That means I have the first and second season on DVD. it was $70 australian. $110 on OC seasons total.
It's a boxed set, by the way. 6 DVDs. and that's 6.5 GB on each DVD. So that also means I only have 18 GB left on my main partition, that's with a couple of DVDs plus the OC season 1 and some of season 2.
But that's not imporntant.

Nope, not healthy.

Ahh.
But there's no school today.

Well, there is for the other suckers. But that's because I'm sick. I ate too much fruit salad last night, and then in the middle of the night I think my stomach exploded or something, but now I'm ok. So a free day off school, home made milkshake, deep-fried hash browns and potato gems.
I don't have this stuff all the time, really, I don't.
I just "aquired" some new songs, teh new Shannon Noll song is good, Thirty Merc is awesome *headbangs* and that other Rob Thomas one, This is how a heart breaks. All good.
And I'm halfway through aquiring Nero 6, which I hope is the latest one, I have to get it because my current one is screwing up, won't let me burn camera movies to DVDs, which is a problem, because my Dad's gonna pay me $20 for the DVD. So now I just need the new one to burn the DVDs, 4 of them.

It says it'll be done in 4 hours, 173 MB and if it's a fake then ... that sucks.
Dad also said he would buy it from the shop, so I wonder what's gonna happen. He reckons work (PIRSA) will reimburse him for it, but neways.

Ooh, I just got disconnected. 4 hours I've been on so far....well, not quite. I've been watching movies and stuff, and just hopefully having maximum bandwidth for Nero.

Okay, folks. Here's the deal.

By now, you've heard that Scott Jarkoff, aka °jark, is now a FORMER Staff Member.

I'm not privy to the whys, wherefores, and whatever-the-hells are going on behind the scenes here. Don't ask me anything about that. I know probably just as much as you do.

DeviantArt, in my opinion, is becoming less about COMMUNITY and more about CORPORATION.

So what we need to do is bring back THE COMMUNITY.

Here's my suggestion.

On August 7th, DA turns five years old. Five years for a website like this should be a grand affair, one big event.

So don't submit anything on August 7th.

I'm talking a print, a deviation, a scrap...nothing.

Instead, just leave a comment. Visit a user's page and just say hi.

If someone wants to buy a subscription that day, I'm all in favor or it. It'll keep the servers going, and anything that keeps the hamster running is a good thing.

BUT...I think folks shouldn't buy any prints. No print subscriptions. That goes against the COMMUNITY theme for the day.

We want to put the COMMUNITY back into DA.

If you're in favor of this, if you believe in the power this COMMUNITY has, then join me. Post this in your own journal. Spread the word to everyone, with a

We might be touting at windmills like Don Quixote.

On my trip back from Queensland, I took some shots of very nice cars, which happen to be ones parked in the carpark XD
But I won't include plates.
In my vectors.
And anyway, the car I'm vectoring now is a stock V8 Supercar.
It's a Holden *notes that half his readers turn away and smiles* VY Supercar. It has a bunch of vinyls and decals, which is mainly why I chose it. Yep, it might be a challenge, but pssh; it's black, and it was taken in harsh afternoon sunlight, with lots of reflections, so yeah, it might be interesting. I finished the windows and the base of the body. And the spoiler and the right mirror.

aggghhh I'm kinda tired, wanna go to bed, so bed I think might yes.

Hewwow

Got back from DreamWorld a couple of minutes....or maybe about 45 minutes ago *checks microwave clock* yep

It was really good, the best one ^^
I went on the Giant Drop at the end, end we were just sitting at the top for about 2 minutes, 39 storeys high if I'm not mistaken.
And then I ask the people "Is that the Big Brother House?" because that's where Big Brother is, Dreamworld.
I look at the person next to me, and then I suddenely drop at 135 km/h to the bottom.

it's fun, I feel kinda wierd....4 G's it is, and I can still feel the pressure or whatever, I feel wierd. But yeah, it was great.
Lots of rides, lots of fun, but I won't crap on.

So I've been to all the theme parks, and I went to the Ginger Factory the other day, and the Big Pineapple, and they were fun...I brought back 3 bottles of Ginger Beer, drunk one this mornin and I'll crack another one tomorrow night.

Mum's giving me daggers to hop in the shower now, and in a sec we go and celebrate my little cousin's birthday. Fun. Cake. ^^

Well, that's all I have time for, other than I'm back on late Thursday, missing my computer baby

YEASH! This is how to live! Okay, maybe it's gonna be a long journal. Maybe not. Maybe. Most likely maybe.

Okay, I'm typing on my Dad's laptop, which sucks, so I'm not very accurate. No audio, but TV's going. No mouse. No keyboard.

The weather's been alright, had a few showers, but hey; it's winter, so very nice. Today I went to Wet 'N' Wild, which is one of the theme parks. It was a little cold near the end, but a Hot Chocolate helped that. $3.50. $3.50!!! Who pays that much for 250mL of stuff? o.O

But I never knew I could see so much cleavage in one day. Whoa man. The wave pool was awesome, and kinda deep. I was also wiff my cousins as well. There was this Terror something II ride, which was pitch black with a couple of fairylights in it. It was great, but I only went once v.v
Umm....there was the Something Something, which was a really tall ride, with white plastic. You fit about 5 people in each boat thingy, and I went with some cousins, my aunt & uncle. It kicked a$$, you felt like you were gonna tip over near the sides, it was amazing.
I also went in the Aqua Race, and the Twister, and they cained! It was so fun, I tell ya.
And so many bikinis dude, I'm talkin this was amazing.....

this is unexplainable ^^ OK, I won't go on.

So I'm at the hotel room. I've had food, yummeh. It's 7:18 PM, and also...what is it....oh yeah, I went to get my Pizza, and I ordered small. They page you when it's finished, and they accidentally made me a big one!

Large size. ³/₈th's of it and I was out. A chocolate bar and 2 SOLO's later, here I am. No wait....3 chocolate bars. 2 liddle ones. ^_^
So we got internet in our room for my Dad's laptop, which is good. We shift to another hotel tomorrow, so this could be my last time to update teh journal. Parents are out for tea, all my cousins and my sister are out at the kid's club. I'm in the room. All alone. I need company v.v

Yesterday we had a relax day, and the day before that we went to Movie World, another Theme Park. We were going to DreamWorld, but it was packed with people, so we decided to go another day, and we went to Movie World. It was great. The Scooby Doo ride sounds gay, but it was REALLY good. All the kids abandoned me though, it wasn't funny, I was lonely

But the Wild West ride was great as well, we got some photos, or prints, because they take your photo. The first time, we had a leaking boat XD my shoes, sandshoes, with socks, were FULLY soaked through! Saturated! Fully! It was ghey, but it's ok now. And they had the Matrix performance presentation thing, where they just did some acting of fights. They had the actor look-alikes, so they had the same costumes and stuff, and it was OK I suppose. We get to go back to any of the 3 theme parks unlimited, so I wanna go and see the Police Academy thing. Me and Hannah, my cousin, went on a bunch of rides, which was good. I was gonna go on the Lethal Weapon, but we both chickened out

I'm going on it when we go back for the second day.

Everybody Loves Raymond is on next.

Tomorrow we go to SeaWorld, which rocks.
And also, the plane flight was kinda ok, not too great. We've hired this 12-seater-bus in which we all go around in, it's ghey but funny lol.
We go back in 5 days I think, give or take a few. Today, while we were waiting for Wet'N'Wild to open, we went to the retirement home place to have a look at the shops, it was cool. Suu maneh cars! The retired people sure have a lot of moneh!!! I saw:

So yeah, I finished the S2000, but now I really wanna vector something else

I'm hopeless, but I have so much spare time on my hands. Better to "get" Partition Magic 8 and screw around with Linux ^^
I'm also looking into internet accelerators, but they dun really work...so yeah.
And also, I killed some of the old stuff from my gallery, because it was taking up space.

Schapelle Corby, I dunno if you've heard of her for all of you folks not from Indonesia or Australia, but she was persecuted (which i think means be prosecuted for something you didn't do) for drug smuggling into Indonesia, which she didn't. The other day (27 May) she was condemned to 20 years in hell (which is in Indonesian prison) and maybe an extra 6 months if she can't pay the AUS$14,000 fine for what she didn't do, smuggling 2.1 kg of marijuana. The evidence speaks for itself.

a) the bag weight was different in the Australia airport than Indonesia

b) she's got no record of any crime

c) the drugs are worth more in australia

d) the stupid thing is, the guy who blew up 209 people in Bali (the bombings) got a 2 month jail term i think, might be 2 years, and she gets 20 years for something she didn't do

And there was something else which i forgot to mention........................

......oh yeah, obviously someone slipped the drugs into her bag, backed up with evidence item (A).

In other news, I'm back in business with keyboard. Currently vectoring a Holden Monaro, Nice shiny red in colour, coming along nicely. And 71 message center items from barely 2 weeks is........i don't know. High?

2 pepsis down. 3 Nesquicks. hmm and also i did a model VW beetle for my mum, it's a kit i bought her for mothers day. She wasn't gonna do it, I had no computer so 1 + 1 = Shiny red VW Beetle.

And I've also tried modding the X-BOX, shutup I can't even open it.

And the computer, I've been opening it etc. Cleaned out the side fan, took off the motherboard fan and cleaned the half a kilogram of dust behing it. And I'm proud, I got a light bulb out of one of our cupboards (a little one, 3000hours of light XD and hooked it up to PC, so i got *counts* 9 sources of light, but then i took it out for some reason. I don't know.

And I'm gonna overclock it soon, ~ synthroeaesiac might come over if he doesn't hate me *hopeful* to help me with it, I just need more cooling.

Maybe on my birthday, which is the 22nd of June ^ ^

_{Yep, I'm back at school on Monday, which sucks. I haven't really done much in the holidays, and they're already over. Bummer.

But it is sad, and hopefully he'll come back sometime soon.

_{Grrrrrrr, this annoys me. Molly I hope you don't mind me takin a leaf out of your journal and using your font.

We've got this swing at our house, it's attatched to a rope, and you sit on it and swing. It's hanging on to a tree, of which our decking surrounds. Well, mah sis was swinging on it and she was doing some really dangerous stuff, so me the sensible one says "Elle, you gotta be careful - you could do a backflip and land on your neck." which IS quite possible because she was taking a run-up and then in the air she was sitting on it, meaning halfway through the air she was only holding on via the rope and not the bit where you sit. Confusing I know but I told her to be careful, and she started questioning me and sayin all this crap. Well, she's 9 and I'm 12 and I don't like to get spoken up to, you may or may not know that, and so she was saying things like "What's the difference between having a run-up and just sitting, then swinging?" and I'm like "Well let me show you," and she stays sitting on it, and I say hop off. Well I got her off it and I'm swinging on it, showing her how to and then my Mum says "Right Harley, log off the Internet." and Dad says "You don't treat your family like that."

I'm extremely annoyed, she shouldn't question me - and it sounds selfish, and this sounds untrue, but all I really do is try to help people. That's it, and some people may think otherwise but I do a lot more than most people realise, for the group and whatever. And she's there questioning me, when it's for her own benefit, and then there's other times when she's smart to me and then she stalks off and gives me the rude finger. It's pathetic, she can't even do it properly, she points her finger at me, POINTS it but think what you will, I honestly can't stand people hating me, I don't like it (unless they're really assholes and they try to be unpleasant to me when I try to become friends, yada yada). But my point is, I know I should ignore it et cetera and I should rise above that immature behaviour, but it happens so often and GRRRRRRRR I can't explain the feelings, and what it's like

I'll try to explain it, give you some background - it's good when she's nice to me, and then I'm nice to her, and we get along ^ ^ but it always happens when I try to help her and show her the benefits, most people don't listen to me and they do what they think is best. Of course, I'm used to that, and you go with it if you think it's best, but when it's a bratty little sister saying that I should do this, I should do that and she's giving ME advice, and when I follow it and then give her advice she sticks it in my face and walks off.

It sounds like I'm the selfish one here, I think, and I don't blame you if you think so, it's just hard to say it in one journal entry. I'm not that bad really, and she is that bad really.

And now I'm going to listen to some death metal (thanks =Akira-Yamano for the suggestion of it) and I also want to say thanks to all the people who've been nice to me on dA and supported me, I} REALLY _{hate being soppy, but I still need to express it. I wonder if they have emotion-darts I'd grab a blowpipe and go pheezt! (I think it sounds like that - I hope) and then they'd understand what it's like.

Just sayin that most of my stuff is grunge and brushing, but i try other things. I also have a passion for cars, so i'm gonna be more doing that stuff. perhaps if i can get hold of cinema 4d i can try some renders...hmm...difficult but fun. and mostly car stuff is with modifying colours, adding neons, decals, tint, etc. but on the vw beetle i changed the rims but in future i'm tryin to do advanced stuff like body kits, spoilers. well - advanced for me.

and also i have a bit of poetry here and there, when i need to express emotion and stuff like that. umm...what else have i posted........*checks* u huh, i like my IDs. Usually its GIF transparency - basic but i dont reckon its too bad. oh, and i like posting lame things like this, which is funny in a twisted kind of way
