So I'm in the last week of the first semester of grad school. I'm engaged to my boyfriend of six years. I joined the 21st century on Wednesday and got an iphone (if you'd like the number, you can contact me). I am working as the Managing Editor of Matrix Magazine, and if all goes as planned, I'm starting a pilot project with the TAG/hexagram people at Concordia. UPDATE: Oh, and there is a notorious amount of backlogging on my part - my art is now too big to scan, so I have to go through the extra process of picture taking. Augh. I have a good 20 or so prints (photos) that need scanning to be uploaded here, and three times that number of digital photos that need to be cropped and uploaded. I have pictures to take of sculptures to show you. I have a portfolio to build.

But I can't seem to find the time...But it's on its way! eventually...I also need a scanner that can scan 16x20 photo paper...there's probably one at school, the end. (Eventually I will need to buy one...I like working that big.)

Our anniversary was nice but there wasn't time to go to the teahouse, so we're going today, and we missed The Mikado because of traffic and us being stuck in a taxi. We missed it by so little - a real shame. It made me sad.

Tom gave me some excellent presents: a thermal cup, chocolates, a super-soft teddy, a picture frame with a photo of us in it, and a dozen balloons - each balloon had inside something about me that he liked, and I got to pop 'em all.

I failed NaNoWriMo - and I finally developped my pictures from the summer. They rock socks~ I hope I won't be too lazy to scan the best ones.

I've started at Vanier in Communications. After IB, this is a joke. I got two papers back today - 5/5 and 4.5/5. They were introductory assignments.

I've met a lot of nice people and so far my humanities class and my photo class seem like they'll be the most challenging. Good God, we're doing grammar in English! -________________-

My drawing class is stupid and boring and we're drawing plants! I hope to God that changes soon.

The specialists at the children's hospital, down the receptionists, were amazing. Everyone was so nice and I really felt like I was in good hands. Since I'm still alive and have next to no pain, I guess that means I was.

They put a bandage on my tummy and made it look like a froggy. The anesthesiologist is a 2nd Dan "Shito" Ryu blackbelt - how cool is that? She talked about that to me as she put me under.

Tom was amazing too - I love him for coming over.

Get anybody you like to pose with the llama so you can take a photo. This usually works well with the people at restaurants or other stores where you've purchased something. Last year, some girls from another school actually asked us if they could take a picture with the llama.

I love the places that it's making me go, but I don't like the box it's going to go into. The process essay doesn't exactly fill me with dread as it feels like it's going to be monotonous. One huge reflection question filled with areas of interaction.

Now, I don't know this for sure.

My product is supposed to be finished by the 28th. I should be able to "technically" finish by then, but I'm probably going to re-edit all the writing that goes with this and redo one or two of the paintings. This project I have invested so much in, and I have definitely gotten a lot out of it. It's all been one huge learning experience.

A trip to the botanical gardens and the biodome sent me to China, Japan, to the forests of the First Nations, to the tropical rainforest, the laurentiennes, the antarctic, and places in between.

I took a total of 277 photos today on my trip, and I'm going to have to be very careful not to inundate everyone with them. Would you prefer to see a lot at once, or a few at a time? I'll be trying, of course, to choose my favourites.

I had quite a day...

I decided to do something crazy today, it being my birthday, so I grabbed my John Lennon/Janis Joplin round-framed mirror glasses, and decided to wear them to school..

Needless to say, I got a lot of stares. Once I got to school, I got a lot of compliments on them! To my friends, I explained that they were my birthday glasses.

I decided to keep them on and see how long it would take before a teacher or other authority figure told me to take them off.

It's settled. My favourite anime series are Gundam Wing, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Shingetsutan Tsukihime and Wolf's Rain. Wolf's Rain. My favourite anime movies are basically anything from Studio Ghibli, but also/especially Akira and Princess Mononoke.

I've been very creative lately, and have been working on a lot of projects, much to my satisfaction, including some for dA.

Much to my dissatisfaction, I've been assigned a lot of projects for school. Thankfully, this batch is the last set of large IBO projects other than my personal project.

From Tuesday to Thursday, I was in Stratford. I've already put up a few pictures from it, including the Ebola virus which I brought home to my brother. I'm sad to say that I wasn't allowed my camera in the theaters, so I have no pictures from the three plays that I saw.

I saw 'Hello, Dolly', 'As You Like It' and 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof'. 'Hello, Dolly' and 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' were extremely good. Utterly incredible...

'As You Like It' was more difficult..the setting was very odd, so nobody was sure what to make out of it in my tour group. I decided to go to MusiquePlus today with Korina and Faye, and I met Our Lady Peace. It was mostly French people, so we English people could talk to the band easily...Korina and Faye just asked for autographs. I had a conversation :).

It was awesome...lol, Korina and Faye say I'm their hero for actually talking to them...

Me, I find it tough to get starstruck.

School has got me busy in the extreme...Mostly Math 436 actually. It sounds lame, but I'm starting to believe people who tell me that Grade 10 might be the toughest year. Math 436 gives me tons of homework...but that's because I'm actually learning for the first time in years. All my other classes are pie. Cake. Whatever your favourite dessert is (although Tapioca pudding is a little complex for the imagery).

So I took off for a week to Newaygo Junction with my parents for vacation (heck, I spend so much time up there it's practically like a second home!) and now I'm back.

Before that...Shakespeare in the park with Ms. Panko and my brother, which was bloody awesome, followed by two days of being sick as a dog with headache and erm...gastronomical problems...

My sister left today...essentially moved out of the house. She's moving to Toronto after spending time in Peru and afterwards going to this training camp thing in NYC. She's moving on to bigger and better things. I'm happy for her, and for my family. I'm sure she's a great person and all underneath, but I didn't really get along with her. She was very different from me and the rest of my family, and caused a lot of fights. Now she's gone!
