We had a fun girl day. ^_^ She helped me put my hair up in victory rolls (popular style during WWII) and I dressed in a 40s-inspired outfit. I felt very cute all day. I wanted to post pictures to my facebook, but the camera is being stupid and won't connect to my computer. I'm pretty sure there's an evil spirit somewhere in the USB cable... Anyway, she drove my car to the Belvidere Oasis, which is where we realized that there was next to no gas in my car. Oops! So after I filled up, we headed back out on the highway. We almost go to our exit to get to Mitsuwa when Sandra got a call from her mom about her car. Long story short, we had to go pick up her mom and sister from the auto shop down the street from Mitsuwa and sort of save them temporarily.

I was really hoping to find some nice Japanese books on Disney art at Mitsuwa, but there were none, unfortunately. I ended up buying a Japanese gentleman's fashion magazine on clearance for my uncle, an orange Ramune for him, and a box of Puchi Petites for him. They're collectible miniatures that are really popular in Japan right now, and I thought he might be able to use them in his Ralph Lauren store miniature. All I got was some sushi for lunch that I couldn't finish and ended up throwing away. *sad face*

Then we stopped at the Blick Art Store outside of Woodfield Mall, and it was like we died and went to artists' heaven. Oh, if I had $100 to spend in that store... At the mall I bought a black vest to wear with my t-shirts for $20. Woot! Steal! I've been wanting a freaking vest for five years, way before they were popular. Our trip ended with a piece of Chocolate Raspberry Mousse cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Yes, you should be very jealous. *evil grin*

This past week has been really great. Last Friday Sandra, Johannes, and I went to go pick up her friend, Maria. It was a three hour trip both ways, but it was so worth it! Maria is so amazing, and I'm so glad I met her. I got to spend time with all of them this past week, and I feel so much closer to them. Especially Sandra...I've known her since I was a Freshman, but I really feel like she's one of my best friends. It's so nice having female companionship... I only just met Maria, but I can already tell that we will be great friends, too. And of course Johannes is my best guy friend. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful friends. Johannes is like my twin, Sandra is such a gifted artist and a generous soul, and Maria just makes me smile. I love you guys!

I've decided to go to cosmetology school in the fall. I want to be a hair stylist. I gave Johannes a haircut the other day, and it turned out really well. I know it's a very stereotypical female career, but I don't care. It's like I discovered a new creative outlet, and I love it!

On a lighter note, I got to see Daniel yesterday. He's getting so big! He's four months old now, and he's trying so hard to talk. It's so cute. He babbled something that sounded like "I'm so high!" In other news, Jordan is driving me crazy. He's such a jerk wad sometimes. Tonight, as he does many nights, he blew me off for one of his brother's friends even though we had plans. I'm so sick of it. I've been putting up with this shit for over a year now. Occasionally he feels enough remorse to buy me flowers, but it doesn't really help because he just keeps doing this to me. We will make plans and then without giving me a call or letting me know what's going on, he goes off with his brother and his friends. I ask him why he does this to me and he has no excuse. All he says is "I'm sorry" and then he goes and does it again a week later! Ugh.

Because of my migraines I am not able to hold a job or go to school. I was supposed to graduate with my class in May of 2007, but I could not because I had missed too much school. In January of my junior year the headaches started. They got so bad that I had to go on medical leave. They got a little better over the summer, but then I had to drop out of school completely as a senior. Those two years that were supposed to be the best years of high school for me were the worst. I had to settle for getting a GED because it was too depressing to stay there for who knows how much longer while everyone else moved on. I attempted going to college this past fall, but I ran into the same problems again. I had even gone to see a headache specialist this past summer, but the medications he prescribed me barely put a dent in my pain. I ended up dropping out of college.

This is my story, and I don’t expect anyone to understand my pain. I just hope that someday I will get better, and I hope that none of my friends ever have to deal with what I go through every day.

I went down to the hospital around 4 on Friday with Jordan. Rachael and I went to see Daniel in the ICU while Jordan and Rachael's boyfriend stayed in the room and played video games. He's in an incubator and will stay there for about a week until Rachael can take him home. She told me that she doesn't have any fondness for her son and is pretty much indifferent. Her doctor said that's normal with new mothers until they start taking anti-depressants.

Anyway, Daniel is a really skinny baby! Most babies are really chunky when they're born, but he's long and skinny. He has really long skinny feet and toes, and long skinny hands and fingers. He doesn't have very much hair, but it's medium brown. He also has really blue eyes. He was sleeping when Rachael and I went to see him, and I stuck my hand in the incubator and stroked his head, not knowing what else to do. I've always had a strong dislike for babies and small children, but Daniel is the first exception. That could be just because he's my best friend's son; I don't know. When I stroked his little hand with my finger he grabbed onto it, and he has quite a grip. When I pulled my finger away after a while he fussed a bit, and I said "Shh...it's alright." I was greatly surprised that he instantly quieted down after I said that, and Rachael was too. She looked at me and said, "Well that was easy."

I got to hold him, and I expected him to scream and cry since I wasn't his mother, and because he had done that when Rachael's boyfriend, his father, tried to hold him. He was perfectly calm and sleepy in my arms. Even Rachael's grandma who has raised two generations of babies and children couldn't quiet him when she held him. Daniel seems to only like being held by Rachael and I. I really don't understand why he's so calm when I hold him because I know absolutely nothing about babies.

Since Daniel has taken a liking to me, I hope he will be my little buddy as he grows up. I told him that we'll build castles and spaceships out of Leggos and that I'll buy him coloring books, a drawing pad, and a big box of crayons as soon as he's able to hold one. I told him that I would help teach him to drive his first car and that I would be there when he gets his first tattoo or piercing.

I asked Rachael if the birth was horribly painful, and she said that it wasn't because she was drugged up. They gave her an epidural, but it didn't kick in soon enough so they gave her Novocaine. She said that she could still feel what was happening but that it didn't hurt. She also told me that her doctor said that if Daniel had been full term and came out in February that Rachael would have had to get a C-section. Even though her son was one month early, she couldn't push him out all the way, and the doctor had to use a sort of vacuum on his head to pull him out.

I gave Rachael the nickname "Pad Queen" because she'll be bleeding a lot for the next week or so and she's had to wear these huge makeshift diapers after the birth. She told me she can't wait until the doctor says it's ok for her to shower because she feels really gross. I don't blame her. I would too after popping out a kid. Fortunately she doesn't have any stretch marks from this ordeal, and her stomach is almost completely flat again, so she doesn't have a ton of extra saggy skin. I shudder thinking about how that happens to some women. Seriously, we women get the short end of the stick in life. There's no room for debate on that one.

Anyway, I'm kind of excited about my godson, but I did tell Rachael that I don't want to babysit him until he's house broken. I've never changed a diaper or taken care of a baby and I'd rather keep it that way. I think a small child who knows how to use a toilet would be a lot easier to take care of. I love Daniel, but I'm glad he's not my kid.

The main character is a tomboyish girl from Miami Beach and is 17 years old. The story takes place in the 1960s. The main character is very carefree and not used to strict rules. In the middle of March during her junior year, she moves to a small town that's still experiencing winter. Somewhere in the midwest possibly? She moves there because of her dad's job. She attends the St. Frances Catholic High School because her parents believe it will give her a better education than the public high school there, which has somewhat of a bad reputation. At the Catholic school she finds the girls pretty dull and makes friends with three guys. Together they pull some crazy stunts that shake up the town, including one against the gym teacher who is a suspected lesbian. Of the main character's three friends, one is short and skinny and has been trying to be more than a benchwarmer on the football team, one is tall and lanky and is somewhat of a geek, and the ringleader of the group is medium-tall and comes up with a lot of their stunts and develops a crush on the main character. In gym class the main character wows everyone with her speed and skills in swimming.

What I need from you guys are some ideas. First, I need a name for my main character, something that fits her personality and a little bit New Age. Then I need names for her three guy friends and a name for the gym teacher. I also need a name for the town and some ideas for stunts that the four friends pull. Most importantly, though, I need a problem and resolution in this story! If anyone can help me out it would be very much appreciated!

Tonight was the opening night of Grease, which I went to with Jordan and Rachael. It was good and bad at the same time. The main reason it was bad was because Lindsey Hawks was cast as Sandy. Good Lord, that girl cannot act! And her singing...she may be in Concert Choir, but she should never try to sing in a 'pop' voice. It sounded simply terrible throughout the entire show. After the first few minutes I started thinking, This is not worth five bucks... Then John Swenson started singing, who plays Danny, and I found that this was worth the five dollars I had spent on my ticket. He and Aly Schaefer are who made the show enjoyable for me. Aly played Rizzo and did an excellent job. I swear that girl is practically perfect...

After the show, Jordan and Rachael and I went to Beef a Roo and played cards. Egyptian Rat Screw, to be specific. It's a really fun game. So yeah, this was a pretty good day. Oh yeah, and before we went to the show, we watched Phantom of the Opera. Yes, a very good day indeed.
