ok, Who loves my work ? would you pay me for commissions? any takers? anyone? yeah, you would. can we get a raise of hands folks? i just wanna know whos interrested. as for pricing, i dunno yet what ill be charging, or what types of images ill be selling , but i know that ill be dropping outta animation as a career move. from here on in, my goal is to be an illustrator. paintings, random shit, see how it goes. ittl be all original artwork, none of this digital stuff! expect guashe paintings, mixed media ( spraypaint, inks, sketches, etc) ....the size of artwork will also vary, anywhere from printer paper to 6 foot tall canvases, im goin nuts yall!
granted the larger pieces will cost a bit of coin, so be prepared!

also, i wanna give a big appology to you all who are patiently awaiting soemthing outta me, ive been working my ass off in freelancing for fatkat animation ( i like working for them ,but i need to move on soon, concentrate on personal projects), but after next week ill be cranking out alot more for everyone. not to mention that my group is being somewhat demanding ( although our efforts there are showing, we managed to get 3 songs on UBC radio station today, and some major shoutouts! plus we may be opening for moka only in july!)

anyways, im still thinkin about this, but i think i can do this. wanna support another artist? ill make it worth your while.

ever try salvia? i tried it last night . whoa. from what i hear, its from the sage family, and scientists have been studying it since the late 70s. so far, no side effects. you come out feeling clear. the only effect is that for 3 minutes, you go through what i could only describe as a physical kolidoscope. it was fucked! i thought the room folded over like a carpet on top of me, and it felt like i was in some kind of gear mechinism that was rotating me further and further into the sofa. needless to say, everything i was thinking about prior to has been put on halt, and all i can think of is what happened! after the 3 minutes, i gathered my sanity and was back to normal, with total memory of what just happened. its strange cause i came out with a clear head, and , if anything, i think i feel much better.

anyways, i figure id better make this art relevant, so yeah, id definately reccomend it for drawing afterwards. youll come up with some fucked up stuff, believe me! ill scan some later.

im going to start posting more, but first, ill explain whats up. frankly, im tired of my style. im tired of getting responses like " dude, this looks just like clone high!" when im trying to make a style for myself, and ive identified my problem while attempting a studio test for ed edd and eddy. ive always been a huge fan of drawing real loose s-curve drawings, no real straight lines, and ive been experimenting hugely with it. im going to make an effort to refine my work into something thats more my style rather than forshadowing some other artists interpretations of previous artists work. all good things have to come to an end eventually, but dont fret, this isnt a bad thing. i find with this style im practicing, i am able to come up with more chaotic, more silly designs. fuck tight artwork, im trying to have fun with it. ill still do the hyperstylized works , of course, for my clients, but you wont be seeing any more personal stuff from me that looks like that.

after i get this week over with, ill be posting alot more. ive hit a total high point in my creative side, and once this major project im working on is finished ( which is a real pain, i tell you, having to characature every employee in the studio, all 40, can be hard when you never characature anyone!), you will all be in for a treat.

for starters, im working on a one minute short. i shall be posting up all sorts of fun shit for you all to enjoy, such as animatics, storyboard panels, concepts , bgs, the works!

if youre lucky, ill even post up my new tshirt layouts for AOC 2006!

i havent forgotten anyone, but this job can get a little intense with the workload, so bare with me for a bit, youll get whats coming to you all.

first off, appologies for not being around here lately, shits been up in my life. so im finally all settled here , a good 3000 miles from vancouver to a total baron wasteland known as miramichi new brundswick. so far, all i can say is that this place is a total blast from the past man. im living in this 120 year old house , and its oil heated ( how archaic is that?)! im having a blast with the accents here too. ive met alot of acadians, and the newfie accents is totally priceless, hahaha. this morning was classic. the people moving outta the house im in finally got all their shit outta my pad, and he had friends. this one dude: identical to santa claus, hahahahahha! i couldnt understand the fucker, all i could do was turn away and bite my lip, it was priceless!

but back to me not posting. now that im all set up, i have a brand new g5 powermac at work, and i got a scanner, so ill be posting quite a bit here again. expect some shit over the next couple of days for sure! 2006 will be interresting indeed.

secondly, if anyone can help me out with this one, I'll owe ya big time. see, i got this problem with my comp, where if i wanna use certain programs, it calls up another program called classic. now, for some reason, classic doesnt wanna open for me, saying this:

Classic cannot find a Mac OS 9 system folder on the startup disk to use. You may need to install OS 9.1 or later ( classic support) on your comp. to select a system folder on another volume, click open preferences blah blah blah.

so i do that , right? i open preferences, and it scans for something, and i get pretty much the same message. im just annoyed cause i bought the newest computer best buy had, and i already have to upgrade? i know people with like the same computer, and so far mine is the only one that is having this problem. im getting real annoyed too cause i moved to a mac to escape the problems, not find more.

anyways, it wasnt set up like guy ritchies other movies. no snappy cuts, no jokes, nothing really, and it was confusing as fuck! ray liotta kinda pissed me off in this movie, he seemed outta place, and it looked like he had facial work done, which wasnt too impressive. then in the middle of the movie there was this real bad toon shaded 3d bullshit which was ugly as fuck to look at. i dunno, all and all, it was like ritchie wanted to do his version of a kill bill ( i disliked that ).

what really annoyed me was that around 3 , all these fucking idiots from the bar came over and were doing lines in the room, and being loud as fuck, so now i dont even know how the movie ended...

i dunno. go check it out when it arrives, but really, dont expect a masterpiece. take it for what it is. really, i think thats all you can do, but do expect serious brain farts at the end of it.



oh, and i hate coke users. i diddnt understand a word of what they said, even though they were totally overpowering the volume of the movie. its like they were spewing words outta their mouths faster than their brains could calculate intellegence (or even proper words ). it was a pretty disgusting reunion from my high school class of 2001. outta shape motherfuckers.

i gotta stop. im all bitter and jaded as fuck.

i just got my costume ready for this whole holloween weekend, and i look like a dick.i decided that id go dressed like robin hood, and , as hilarious as i look, this is a bad idea. im going to be drunk walking around in longjohns and a tunic, a gericurl wig with a glued on moustache. just to add to the insanity, i added in an eyepatch, only now i find that i look like frank zappa ( minus the eyepatch, of course)....

ok, i had quite the predicament. A day after Mercury informed me about wanting me aboard, Fatkat studios in Miramichi New Brundswick emailed me, and sounded very interrested in getting me a job there. so interrested that the owner was willing to fly me out there! it was very tempting, but i still got student loan payments coming out the ass, and if i was living there, i would be paying for food, rent, and all that jazz. in the end, i wouldnt have much money left over for anything. in the end, i chose to stick around in vancouver at Mercury. I know ill be kicking myself next week though. i mean, what an opportunity! too bad it was at the wrong time... oh well.

i left it on good terms, and i think ill re-apply there in november, and hopefully i can take it up then.

it was pissing rain, and i was on my way to go to red robin to apply for a cook position, when the phone rang...

it turned out being that studio i did the test for last week, and they want me to come in to sign a contract ! ill be working full time till november, coloring cartoons!

im kinda stoked cause this studio did the coloring and compositing for the powerpuff girls movie ( by far the coolest cartoon movie ive seen in recent years, in my mind cooler than disneys recent crap)!

yay!

im gonna go have fun, probably smoke alot of weed, and i think we're done here!

fuck. i got an interview at starbucks on monday. this will be my second one. i really, really, really dont like coffee. i wouldnt be looking for work, but i got student loans jammed so incredibly far up my ass that i have to apply at shitty jobs such as starbucks.
