Comicon. Was. Fabulous.

I had such an amazing time this year. The panels were wonderful, I got to meet my long-time idols Kevin Murphy, Bill Corbitt, and Mike Nelson (MST3K) and (of course) visited Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins (Penny Arcade) as well as Gus Sorola and the gang (RedvsBlue). When we, my co-conspirator and I, cosplayed as Cynn and Devona on Friday, we were greeted with an overwhelming amount of fan-ism. It was soooooooo nice to hear what people had to say about my costumes, and to have so many pictures taken! We had well over fifty photographs taken of us, which I gotta say is about twenty-five times more than the last time I cosplayed! It's such a rush, and such a compliment; I remembered that weekend how much I love cosplaying.

And, needless to say, we didn't win anything at the Masquerade. HOWEVER, I had SUCH a wonderful time!! Oh man, everyone was just phenominal! If it weren't for the amazing make-up ninjas on staff, Elphaba would never have been green in time to go on stage! I'd also like to do a shout-out (am I too old to say things like 'shout out'? I don't know) to the Hairspray group. They went above and beyond for us. Not only were they, without precident, the nicest group of individuals that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, but they really bolstered our confidence and made the whole Masquerade just a blast for us. There were many others who were wonderful too, who spoke to us and reinforced the feelings of comraderie that we hadn't anticipated, that I would like to thank, but I just don't have space to mention all of them.

And on an even happier note, the Hairspray group recieved "Judges Choice" at Comicon. YAY! Good job, you guys! I can't WAIT to see you next year!! ([link])

I officially hate NBC.

[link]

... I had a long rant, but it won't post. So here's the condensed version.

1) Veggietales has many great values for all children

2) If you don't believe in Christianity, either don't let your children watch the show, or talk to them about your personal family values

3) It was not wrong for NBC to be sympathetic after the Mohammed comics, et al.

4) It IS wrong to allow everything from the f-word during family television, not censoring some of the more racey skits on Saturday Night Live, etc.

I reiterate: If you don't believe in Christianity, either don't let your children watch the show, or talk to them about your personal family values. Just don't rip apart a perfectly good show because (Heaven forbid!) it has to do with God.
