Yesterday I checked my e-mail and had a message from the girl who was selling me Nalu saying that while she was at work her husband sold her to someone else. Honestly, I don't know if I completely believe that story. She was in a big hurry for me to buy her. She said it was because three other buyers had backed out already and they didn't want the bird to get too attached to them or them to her. I told her my cousin would be sending her the money through Paypal then the next morning she tells me the bird is gone. I really think in the end it was probably about money. Whoever it was they sold her to locally was able to hand them the money on the spot. Oh well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

I have found three other people who have Quakers. Two about an hour away and one in FL (my cousin is making a trip down there soon) so hopefully one of those will pan out. They will be young and won't talk or know anything yet but hopefully it won't be too hard to teach them.

I have wanted a bird for a long time now and my wonderful cousin bought me this beautiful Quaker Parrot. Her name is Nalu (although I might change it depending on DNA test results) and I'm hopefully picking her up on Sunday.

Here's what her current owner had to say about her:

"Nalu" is a girl, we believe. She is outgoing, loves (and I do mean loves) bells, foottoys (which she will enthusiastically throw, beat, grab and fetch), and talks. She talked a lot when she first got here although she is going through a quiet phase right now. She hasn't said anything save a random "stop that" or "bye-bye" in two weeks. Her total vocab that we know of includes "hello, bye-bye, pretty bird, stop that, ouch,peek-a-boo, hahaha" a wolf whistle, and kissy noises. She learns new words quickly and is very smart. She learned to step up in just a day. She steps up onto perches or hands and is learning to step down. She is great about staying on a gym or perch and just watching you do your things but loves to ride around on your arm too.

I just found out that my 18 year old cousin, Stephan, was in a wreck and broke his neck, back and arm. I haven't seen him in 7 years because he lives in Arkansas. We don't know much yet other than he is having surgery tomorrow. The doctor hasn't told my uncle much. My mom is trying to get in touch with him, hopefully then we'll know more. I can remember when this boy was a baby, God I hope it all turns out ok.

It looks like I'll be moving out soon. My cousin wants me to start keeping her kids for her (the three little girls I submit pictures of all the time lol) She has given me a car, which will be here on the 23rd and at some point we are going to be putting a trailer on her property for me. In the mean time I have to get my driver's license. I got my permit renewed so hopefully, sooner rather than later I'll get my license. And of course hopefully she won't go back on it and call the whole thing off. Regardless, whenever I get my license I can get a job somewhere and figure out where to go from there. Right now my immediate plans are to save as much money as possible and move to somewhere I can go to Vet Tech school. I was gung ho to go into dog grooming, but after talking to a professional groomer, I'm not so sure that's what I want to do anymore.

Oh and a perk of taking care of the girls and moving out there...they live on a farm and have HORSES.

I went to a session at OCTC on the admissions process for the Health Sciences department. I missed the first deadline to turn in packets by one day, but I have until April 2 for the second one. Within that time I have to get my GED transcript, take the COMPASS and the NET or HOBET. I haven't decided what I actually want to go for yet. It's going to be ADN, LPN or Medical Lab. Tech. I really want to find out the actual differences between what an ADN does and what an LPN does before I make a decision. I also want to find out what the income for a MLT is like.

She kept harping on the fact that Medical Sciences is a very competitive department. This scares me. I am a high school drop out and haven't set foot into a school in almost five years. There are 85 slots in the ADN program and only 55 in the other two. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but that's never really been one of my strong points lol.

Out of all the Gliders I've had, George's death is by far the hardest.

But I'm back.

My dad has moved home and we have DSL now so I have reliable internet access . However, the hard drive on my PC croaked so I can only use his laptop. While I was unable to get online, my subscription expired and I really didn't like not having thumbnails lol. But now thanks to the wonderful =nethlegolas I have a sub again. Also thanks to her I have this cool new journal layout. Amanda, have I told you lately that I love you?

Leilu's joey has come OOP. It's a little boy. I took him out and held him, he didn't like it much. He cried for his mommy the whole time.

Leilu didn't seem to like it much either but I didn't keep him out for long, just long enough to look him over and find out his gender. I'll be honest and say I was hoping for a girl so that George would have a cage mate but I'm not going to complain. I'll just have to figure something out, hopefully I can keep him. Unless I decide to change it, I've named him Keoki, the meaning of which is "a form of the name George." I'm weird I know.

But if anyone comes up with something else for him let me know. I'm open to suggestions.

I knew my Sugar Glider Leilu was most likely pregnant, I just didn't know how far along. I noticed the last few nights that she was showing a lot of interest in her pouch, but she never sits still long enough for me to get a really good look at her. Tonight when I went to check on them she was sitting in the food bowl grooming her pouch. I stood on a box and looked and I could see the little joey in her pouch.

I was kinda hoping that they wouldn't have another joey, because I was planning to try to find new homes for them, but honestly, I'm happy about it. I have always wanted to raise a joey myself. I got Angel when she was probably close to five weeks old and she never really got used to me before she died. Hopefully this time will be different, and hopefully it won't be like the first time and Leilu will raise this one. I say one, because I only saw one and I only saw a lump on one side of her pouch, but I guess there could still be twins in there. If so I am only keeping one! I don't need five Gliders again lol.

Last weekend my Dad came home. It was the first time I had seen him in over a month. He's been blowing me off since May 28th, which was his birthday. He told me he would be home then, but didn't show. I really think he decided to spend the day with his "girlfriend" especially since the weekend before was when he told me about her (although I had already known for months) and told me that her birthday was that same weekend. He told me he would definitely be home for Father's Day so I bought him some gifts and he didn't show up again. After that I had pretty much given up on him ever doing what he says he's going to and was mad at myself for being stupid enough to spend my money on him, knowing that he wouldn't appreciate it.

Last Sunday he showed up out of the blue. He'd been calling but my Mom didn't answer the phone and our neighbor had told him that we weren't home. I don't really know why, because I know the kind of person he is and that he'll never be the father I want him to be, but honestly, although I hate to admit it, I was thrilled when he showed up. The first thing out of his mouth to me was, "What the hell did you do to your hair?" (it had been highlighted) So to make a long story short, being thrilled didn't last for long. Within the first twenty minutes of being here he started bitching. He opened his gifts, but didn't really seem to give a shit. He left the next day, then called from the next town and wanted to come back. I have no clue why, but he did then left Tuesday.

Wednesday he called and said that he would be coming back Thursday. At the time I had no clue why, but it turned out to be because he had a job interview down here on Friday. He wants to come back home. He has for a while now, but now he seems to be more serious about it. I haven't heard anything else about the interview, I don't think he even knows that I know about it, but he's still here. I don't know what will ultimately happen, and my mom says she doesn't either, but it sure as hell looks like they're going to "work things out". All I can say is she's a better person than I am. If my husband had done to me what he's done to her, I would have promptly beaten the shit out of him, he sure as hell wouldn't step foot back in my house for a minute much less a weekend and most likely, I would have neutered him. With no anesthesia.

Anyway, I guess the main point is that if he moves back in, I'm going to have to find a way to move out. I can't live with his bitching, complaining and treating me like a two-year old again. It's hard enough to deal with it for a weekend. The only upside I really see to him moving back is he'll have to bring the Contour back and he'll have no excuse not to give it to me. 1. My mom already told me two years ago that I can have it. 2. It's paid for. 3. He has the brand new Equinox.

If I have a car I can get a job and save some money. Then I can get the hell out of this stupid ass town. I think I'd like to move near my brother. It's a pretty big place and is close to one of the biggest cities in the state. Also, I've become good friends with his girlfriend, Jessie, and I'd get to see Adam all the time! Jessie has already mentioned several places that she thinks she'd be able to get me a job, one of them being the zoo. Talk about a dream job for me! Of course that's probably just wishful thinking on my part. Nothing ever seems to work out for me the way I'd like it to.

Im dog-sitting for my grandfather. Around midnight Friday night I took Skeeter out and Savannah slipped out the door behind me. She is so black and it was so dark that she literally disappeared. I couldnt find her for about twenty minutes. I took Skeeter in and was going to change my shoes when I heard a jingling at the back door. Thankfully, she had decided that she didnt want to be outside alone.

The next day, things only got worse. I decided it was way past time that her face be shaved. The only clippers I have are really old and arent really for dogs, but they worked before so I decided to use them again. I got her face done then did her tail and decided to do her feet. Somehow I cut her between her pads on both back feet and they bled pretty badly, so badly that I had to bandage them.

As if I didnt already feel horrible enough, Sunday she made me feel even worse. Chris left a plate on the counter after breakfast and Savannah decided to put her paws up there and eat it. Normally I would have just pulled her off and told her no. But my mom was standing there glaring at me so I popped her on the butt. She screamed like I was killing her and started limping! Theres no way I hit her that hard, but it broke my heart to see her like that, and she was scared of me afterwards. I felt like a horrible mother!

Chris, his girlfriend Jessie and her baby, Adam, came over for the weekend. Chris told me that theyll probably be married by Christmas and that he wants to adopt Adam. A lot of people in the family arent very happy about it. But as far as Im concerned, if it makes Chris happy I am thrilled for him. As an added bonus, Adam couldnt be any cuter! While they were here Jessie highlighted my hair. Ill submit some before and after pictures.

Sunday afternoon my Dad showed up out of the blue. He left the next afternoon then called and wanted to come back. I dont really know why, but he did come back and is leaving this afternoon I guess.

I have a lot of deviations I should be submitting so I guess Ill get busy on that. Hope everyone has a happy 4th!

Hi everyone! Well, I'm finally back online. I didn't have internet access for about 3 months, but thankfully I got it all squared away. This entry will be pretty brief, but I'll put a longer one up shortly. I'm fine, family's fine and the dogs are fine. I hope everyone has been doing well. When I got back on the site I had a huge amount of messages in my message center. I have looked at them all, but didn't comment or fave. Now that I've got it cleaned out, I'll be able to do that. Well as soon as I shave Savannah's face and repack my suitcase...and one for her, we're heading up to my aunt's house. I'm not sure how long we'll be gone, something like 5 days I think. My cousin is taking Kodiak, Tippy and Cain to her house and will be stopping by here in the afternoons to feed the Sugar Gliders. I think Kodi will be fine, he knows my cousin and she has four dogs his size that he can play with, the problem will probably be me missing him more than him missing me. Like I said before Savannah will have her baby sister (half sister actually) to play with. I don't see Heidi (the toy) liking her much since she doesn't like Nikki and they live together lol. Oh and I don't think I mentioned it before, but my aunt lives at the lake so it should be pretty interesting for me to keep Savannah out of it lol.

Fran is extremely excited about us coming up there but me, eh, not so much. It will be good to get Savannah out of the house and let her get used to new situations, but Fran's kids are gonna drive me nuts.

Just thought I'd let you all know that I got back this afternoon. My cousin's surgery went well and the doctor said he is 99.9% sure he got all of the cancer. She goes back in 10 days but I'm not entirely sure what for. The dogs were extremely happy to see me and were great for my mom while I was gone. Savannah even ate well which was one thing I was worried about. I'm not sure when I'm leaving to help my aunt but I've gotten caught up with everything in my message center and I'll post again before I leave.

Tomorrow I'm leaving for 4 days to stay with my cousin and her kids while she has surgery. We're staying in a cottage on the harbor and they don't allow dogs so my mom will be taking care of Kodiak and Savannah. This will be the first time I've been away from either one of them overnight, I completely trust my mom to take care of them, I just hope they behave themselves and don't pout for too long when I get back lol. After I get back Wednesday I'm going to be leaving again for probably five days or so to help my aunt get some work done in her office. Savannah is going with me for that trip. My aunt has 2 Poodles of her own, one is a Toy named Heidi and the other is a 12 week old Standard named Nikki who is actually Savannah's half sister so I'm sure they'll have a blast together, I just hope Savannah behaves herself lol. Poor Kodi will have to stay here with my mom unfortunately, I guess I'll just have to buy him something special when my aunt pays me lol.

I was getting ready to take a shower and took my hair down. I put the scrunchie on the desk and next thing I know I see Savannah with something pink hanging out of her mouth. As soon as I told her to drop it she took off running, I followed her and by the time I got a hold of her she'd already swallowed it.

I finally got in touch with Liz about an hour after it happened and was told to give her 5 ccs of peroxide and hopefully she would throw it up, but since it had already been an hour it was possible that she wouldn't.

Thankfully within about 5 minutes of giving it to her the scrunchie came back up.

I swear they all like getting a reaction out of me, her and Kodiak especially.

This morning I decided to take Kodiak for a long slow walk because he's been too hyper lately. Usually when we walk it's a pretty brisk uneventful one, but I thought maybe a little change would make an improvement. Another thing that was different this time was my mom didn't go with us.

So I put him on his leash and we left. It was pretty clear and cool which was really nice. I actually realized that for as much as I bitch, I do like living out in the country, I just get very bored. Anyway, we walked very slowly and surprisingly enough, Kodi didn't try to pull me a single time. Yes, he was wearing his gentle leader, but even then normally when we walk faster he'll try to pull ahead a little. He would get a little interested when he heard birds in the trees but didn't react with more than a passing glance. He did seem a little worried about a neighbor's basketball hoop, though, which I can't hold against him because I am pretty sure it was his first time noticing it. Usually my mom would be walking on the other side of him so his view of it would have been obstructed.

Just as an example of how quiet it is out here, we were gone for nearly an hour and not a single car went by and we didn't even see anyone out in their yards. On the way back I heard a dog barking and turned around. A brown bull-type dog came charging out of my neighbor's yard (who thankfully lives far back from the road) I just knew Kodiak was gonna go ballistic. I tried not to react other than glancing back to make sure the dog wasn't going to come tearing across the field wanting to fight, and believe it or not, Kodi glanced at it and kept right on walking. I was so proud.

When we got home he didn't seem to have any hyperness left in him. He got a drink of water then stood at the back door watching Chris clean out my dad's truck. So I think from now on, weather permitting I'm going to take him on two long slow walks every day, maybe even three if I don't have anything else to do. Hopefully when Savannah gets over her spay she can tag along too, but I'm thinking I will probably have to get another Gentle Leader before I can walk them both at the same time.

On a totally unrelated note, I am 99.9% sure that Chris took my Eminem Encore CD and no, he did not ask. Yes, however, he will pay for this...big time.

I dont know if you all remember, but since August my parents have been having problems. My dad has been working in New York for almost a year now and in August he told my mother that his feelings for her have changed and he doesnt want to be with her anymore. Shortly after that he said his feelings for her changed again and he decided he wanted to try to work things out. He kept saying that until last Thursday, which was when he told her that he wants a divorce and that hes been seeing someone else since July. Even after that he has been calling 24/7 trying to put a guilt trip on her. He says things like he has stopped taking his medication (high blood pressure) and that he just wants to die. He has always been a very controlling person and hes still trying to do it. Luckily, shes going to see her attorney tomorrow.

I havent spoken to him since that day and I really dont have any intentions to. Theres nothing I could say to him right now that would be very polite. He keeps calling crying and begging my mom to make me talk to him. I know this may sound horrible to you guys, but I dont really want a relationship with him and its not only because he hurt my mother the way he did. Hes always been a liar and a manipulator. He has always come first and hes never really cared about anyone else, family included. I know it might not be very mature for me to feel this way, but in all honesty, hes done more to make me dislike him than he ever has to make me love him. Financially hes always been there up until recently, but other than that he hasnt been what most people would consider a father.

Yesterday around 9 am, Tippy (my moms Chihuahua) suddenly started throwing up and having horrible diarrhea. My mom wasnt home at the time and I have no drivers license. She threw up and had diarrhea for at least 20 minutes. Then when my mom did get home we decided to take her to the vet. Our regular vet couldnt see her until 1 pm and the other vet has just had knee surgery. Thankfully by 11 she had stopped being sick and was resting. We took her in at 1 and he said he didnt feel anything abnormal in her abdomen. He gave us something to coat her stomach and something for nausea and told us to feed her just a spoonful of Hills i/d about 5 times a day. She seemed fine the rest of yesterday, but today she has started throwing up again, even on an empty stomach so Im pretty sure shes going back tomorrow. Im going to try to get more of the medicine into her first though. Shes only had 2 doses of the stomach coater and one of the anti-nausea drug. They are Sucralfate and Metoclopramide if anyone has any input on them. Im hoping its not a virus or something and Im definitely hoping its not contagious since she and Cain share a crate (theyre in separate ones now) and Savannahs crate is in the same room.

Last night I found out that my cousin, Liz, who is like a sister to me and is the one who has the 3 little girls (Conner, Camdyn and Carsyn), has vaginal cancer. Its a very rare form and they dont like to use radiation to treat it. So from what I gather from her mother, surgery is the only option, although she is getting a second opinion. Its in the early stages, thankfully and her mother is being very positive about it, but from what she said the prognosis seems to be pretty grave, especially since its so rare and not a whole lot is known about it. Although the research is from 10 years or so ago and I would assume technology has improved since then. I am trying to stay positive too, but its really hard. I cant imagine her not being here. Her daughters are only 8, 3 and 2 months old. I dont know what they would do without her. Her husband is already completely devastated, Im sure shes going to have to be the strong one for all of them, and thats a lot to put on her shoulders.

So that it wont seem like everything is horrible right now, Cain and Kodiak are both doing fine. Cain doesnt really like being in a crate alone at night, but hes doing ok with it. Kodi is as silly and sweet as ever and learned a new trick a couple days ago. Now hell play dead when I point at him and say bang. Savannah is going in to be spayed Thursday, but it seems like she has finally found her appetite and shes been eating very well for the past week or so, shes also much more active than she has been and has put on some weight. Ill let you guys know how much she weighs Thursday.

Well, I didn't want to do it, but since Savannah is 8 months old and is still wetting her crate every morning no matter what time of night I take her out before going to bed and I was getting tired of washing her crate and her every morning, last night I put a diaper on her before I went to bed. This morning she had not had an accident and had not messed with the diaper. I honestly don't think she really has an urge to go at least half the time. She has never let me know when she needs to go out, it's more or less a guessing game with her. However, with the diaper on she will start sniffing at it and so far every time I've taken her out when she does that she has had to go. She has not wet the diaper at all and doesn't bother it otherwise. I don't know how long this will have to last but I really didn't know what else to do. She doesn't really seem fazed by it at all...

Totally have to agree with all of you who say people are getting fake on here. So I gave in and let's see who really reposts this. This is a test to see who's paying attention. It serves to eliminate people who are desperately trying to add "friends" like its a popularity contest in High School. This will probably be a little long but here goes...

My grandfather has always loved animals and as long as I've known of has had at least one dog. Always outside dogs because my grandmother doesn't want them in the house, but he loves them and having one makes him more secure. Last year his Chow/Pit Mix, Red, and his Dachshund, Bo, disappeared. After a couple months of not being able to find either one. He asked my cousin Liz who works at the vet clinic to find him a dog. She had her husband's brother's yellow Lab that he no longer wanted and that had not worked out at any other home (he's been through 3 or 4) named Bucket living at the vet clinic. There was also another smaller mixed breed there that needed a home. She asked my opinion and I told her to give him the smaller dog, it would be easier for him to handle. Well, she gave him Bucket instead. She knew full well that he is very destructive, HUGE (probably over 100 lbs) and fully capable of getting out of the yard even though it is fenced. In her eyes she was getting rid of something that was a problem for her.

A few weeks ago Bucket started getting out of the yard, he never went far, but they live in a neighborhood where the houses are close together and he can easily get into other people's yards. He also destroyed anything and everything in the yard that he could get his mouth on and started jumping up on my grandfather to the point that he would have bleeding scratches. He also made it nearly impossible for my grandma to get her laundry done because he would jump up on her too.

I suggested that they tie him on a runner when my grandpa is not outside and when my grandma wants to go out. However, my grandpa doesn't like to see him chained and although I went and put up a runner for him...he never used it. Everyone has been pressuring him to get rid of the dog even though he is extremely attached to him. Liz told my aunt that if she took him back he would live in a kennel at the vet clinic and be a blood donor. She told this to my grandpa and he was mortified by the idea. Then my aunt said "Well if he's not any good to anyone why don't you just have him put to sleep?"

She had better be glad I wasn't there to hear that.

My grandma said that if he finds Bucket a new home she will let him get a small dog to keep in the house, I found that completely shocking. But still I didn't think it was fair to pressure him into giving up a dog he loves. I told him about the possibilty of taking him to a shelter here that has huge pens and shows the dogs lots of attention should HE decide Bucket was too much to handle. He warmed to that a little but my mom insisted that I discuss it with Liz first. So I called her and basically got...

"I don't see what the big fucking deal is. There's nothing wrong with chaining the dog up in the yard. If he comes back here I'm going to have him euthanized. When you decide to give a dog away, it's not supposed to be your problem anymore."

You have no idea how hard it was for me to bite my tongue.

So I asked if she would be angry if I took him to the shelter, she said no then said "Why can't he just live in a pen in your yard?" I told her I would discuss it with Grand Daddy and not to worry about it anymore, I would see to it that the situation was handled.

I was hesitant to bring up taking him home with me because I knew my mom wouldn't like the idea. Then Grandma asked how many dogs my dad had outside and my mom said "Why can't Bucket come and live with us?" Grand Daddy warmed up to that idea right away so tomorrow I'm going to pick him up...probably literally...God help me.

Then my new mission in life will be to find a lap dog for my grandfather. I love that man so much and having to convince him to give up his dog was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do and it made me feel awful.

Ive come to the conclusion that in the grand scheme of things, I dont matter much to anyone and there is no one that I can depend on. No one thinks my opinion matters or that I should have feelings. Im an outsider in my own family. The only upside is that for some reason Im easy to use, and everyone seems to enjoy that.

My father called me yesterday pretending to be concerned because my mom told him I wasnt feeling well. I was stupid enough to call back and it didnt take long for his real intentions for calling to become evident. He wanted me to get in touch with my mother for him because she had turned her cell phone off. Then he told me that the plant was on fire and it was an emergency, which he later told my mother wasnt true.

I took the printer that I got for Christmas back to the store and got a refund because my mother wanted me to so that she could use the money to pay bills. Then she turned around and spent that money and then some in Wal-Mart, after having already bought groceries the night before. But when I asked earlier if we would be able to buy food for the Sugar Gliders she told me not until next week because she has too many bills due this week.

Compared to all of that the way Liz treats me, which had me really pissed off yesterday afternoon seems pretty damn good to me. Hell at least she feels guilty when she uses me and tries to make up for it by offering me her $90 dog crate for Kodiak.

I turned 22 years-old an hour and 50 minutes ago. I heard Happy Birthday from one person and dont anticipate hearing it from anyone else. I will be shocked if my mother even remembers it.

I know it seems like Im throwing a pity party, but Im not. Everything just seems pointless these days and I dont have much hope of anything getting better left in me.

Well Friday my dad came home. I guess it went as well as could be expected, he was a smart ass, I was a smartass back and other than that I avoided him. He's not planning to come home for Christmas so like I said he got me my photo printer Saturday which, thankfully, is working now. Thanks =nethlegolas I wouldn't have thought to re-install the software. He got my mom a microwave which she keeps saying she is going to take back to the store. Chris came down Sunday to fix the water pump which F.M. was supposed to do but never finished. He got me a fleece shirt for Christmas and my mom got me that 6 Garth Brooks CD set. Believe it or not I used to like Garth Brooks when I was little, but I haven't listened to any of that music in forever lol.

I had a little scare with Savannah. Her left eye was almost matted shut with nasty goopy stuff a few days ago. I cleaned it and shaved her face. Then called Liz and asked if I should do anything else. She told me if it was like that again in the morning to call her and she'd have Jamey stain it and make sure there was no scratch or anything. Well, it bothered her a lot that night, she kept pawing at it but the next day she acted fine so I didn't call her. My mom started bitching as soon as I mentioned it, saying she doesn't have money to take the dog to the vet so I got mad and just dropped it. If it had still been bad I would have called Liz and had her put it on the bill until I could find a way to pay it myself.

Speaking of paying things myself. I sent Liz an e-mail asking if she would talk to Jamey (the vet) about possibly hiring me again. I don't know if he will, because I walked out. But he only has one tech right now and she's about to have to go on maternity leave. Then there's Liz who is technically the office manager and isn't working full time yet because she just had Carsyn. I think he has a Mexican working for him doing the kennels, but regardless he's still going to need someone else when Jennifer can't work anymore. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed I guess. And if he does hire me back I'll have to keep reminding myself that I do NOT need any more dogs and...cats are evil regardless of how much Kodiak likes them.

Well, I'm about go to groom Savannah. I just bathed her and she's taking forever to dry so it's time to get out the hair dryer. Neither one of us enjoys that much

So today my mom got my photo printer. I hooked it up, tested the scanner, it worked fine. Copied something, that worked fine. Then I tried to print a 4 x6 picture of Carsyn and it came out all fucked up. So I kept trying and the paper would go through but nothing would print. Then once it basically chewed the paper up. After that I tried to use regualr size paper instead and now every time I even try to open the software, it has an error. As usual nothing works for me the way it's supposed to.

It was cold (at least for South Carolina) and windy a year ago today when I was coming home from Christmas shopping and saw two tiny puppies by the side of the road. When one of them was nearly hit by a truck, I knew I couldnt just leave them there. I told my brothers fiancée (ex now) to stop the car so I could get out. By the time she parked, one of the puppies was nowhere to be found. I held my breath as the little black and tan puppy ran away from my friends and back into the road, then did the only thing I could think of. I knelt down and called out to him. I dont know what made him decide it was safe to come to me, but Im very glad he did.

I scooped the frightened little thing up and put him in my jacket then started looking for the other, unfortunately it seemed to have vanished without a trace. Reluctantly I got back into the car and we headed home. When I first picked him up I had no clue what to do with the puppy, but as he snuggled against me and fell asleep I was already starting to fall hopelessly in love. After a week I knew the little guy wouldnt be going anywhere I wasnt.

I wouldnt say its been an easy year. Weve battled a terrible worm infestation and mange. I thought hed never learn that I wasnt a chew toy and feared that Id never be able to leave the room without taking him out to go potty again (Which isnt very fun when its 4 am, raining and YOU have to go potty too!). Then there was ten days in an e-collar and a brand new baby sister. But all and all, I think weve made it through okay.

I definitely wasnt looking to bring home another dog that day but now, I dont know what Id do without him. Hes my shadow, my foot warmer, my cuddle bug, my big whiny baby and on several occasions my big bad Shepherd dog body guard. For a little mutt on the side of the road, I think hes turned out pretty good.

I've avoided talking about it for a while, but I guess there's really no point in that, it won't change anything. I've lost another glider. Monti and Leilu's beautiful little joey, Gracie, died. I don't know what happened. She was caged alone and seemed fine the night before. At first I thought she got too cold, but I don't see how that could be the case when the other three are fine and George was caged alone also. Then I thought maybe something I fed them made her sick, but again, the other three are fine. I guess it's pointless to try to figure out what caused it. Today I'm scrubbing down cages and moving the three I still have into the garage and plugging in a space heater. I couldn't do it before because it was raining.

I never really bonded that much with Gracie, she was too much like her mother and very independent. I'm still not completely over Kateena and every time I go over to feed them I'm almost scared to open the door because I'm worried that another one will be dead. I still have Georgey and I'm really hoping nothing happens to him. He may be a hard headed little thing but he's still the one who seems to like me the most. Ironically he's also the only one who's bitten me multiple times.

I'd love to be able to carry him around with me all day, but he is an escape artist and can get out of every pouch I have. That's definitely not safe with the number of dogs around here. I have decided though that unless Monti and Leilu have another girl joey I won't be getting any more gliders. I kind of do want to wait around on that, I feel like George needs a cagemate even though I am still kinda scared to put another glider in with him. After they do have another joey (or set of twins) I'm probably going to look into finding them a new home again. The last buyer backed out apparently. I haven't heard anything from him in months.

Unfortunately I'm writing about another loss. !Goodbye-kitty975 's horse RappHappy died this morning. Click here to read a little more about this wonderful animal.

RappHappy died due to a reaction to a drug he was injected with. Not many details are known at this time. He was only 4 years-old.

Other than a friend I had before joining this site, Dom was the first to start commenting on my work and has been extremely nice and caring. Please keep her in your thoughts as she deals with this terrible loss. She's currently banned from DA for a 4 week period, but if you'd like to express your condolences to her let me know and I'll tell you how you can get in touch with her.

I was having a pretty crappy day and just when I thought it couldn't get any worse I went to feed the Sugar Gliders and found Kateena dead. I am 99.9% positive that George killed her. If you remember I had them seperated for a few weeks, well Kateena was doing fine and my mom was complaining about getting her out of the bathroom so I put them back together on a trial basis to see if they would get along. They had been together for over a week and things were fine, no signs of fighting or anything and now this. I had planned to build a big cage and put Gracie in it with them but now I'm scared to put George with another Glider and am seriously considering finding him a new home. I feel guilty because if I hadn't put them back together she would most likely still be alive. So yeah I feel like a shitty glider owner right about now.

My dad is coming home today. I was hoping it would snow and he'd have to stay in NY but of course no such luck. Why didn't you do a snow dance =nethlegolas?

Supposedly my brother is also coming home but we haven't heard anything else from him and we've also heard that Lerue is going to Myrtle Beach and I'm sure if he is odds are Chris will go with him. So this means I will be very annoyed until Saturday. However, if Chris does come home I am going to try my damnedest to guilt him into taking me driving. I only have until December 10th to get my license!

The most annoying thing is just when Kodi has my mom wrapped around his paw and he's become accustomed to the house she's saying he has to go outside until my dad leaves. She doesn't want him to give her any hell about it but I'm going to tell her to let him give me hell. If he does Kodi, Savannah and I will just camp out in my room until he goes to bed at night

I have to get the garage organized so I can move the gliders over here and clean their cages tomorrow as well as clean out cabinets and such next door. Fun fun fun.

A couple good things....my new niece Carsyn Rebeccah was born around 7:30 Friday morning. I haven't seen her yet, which doesn't make me too happy. But I've been told she has brown hair and is a very alert, good baby. My poor little Yammaline is very jealous. They're trying to make it cute and say she's being protective of the baby but I know better than that. She doesn't want anyone who's visiting to touch the baby because SHE wants the attention, which is perfectly normal. Conner went through the same thing when Camy was born but she's not as vocal about things like that as Camdyn is (and apparently hasn't been phased by Carsyn's arrival at all lol). I need to get my hands on her so I can reassure her because I know no one else will. Hopefully I'll get to go over there Monday and my plan is to get Ring Pops for Conner and Camdyn and make a huge fuss over Camy as soon as I walk in (Conner will most likely be at school) before going to see or even mentioning the baby and to continue paying most of my attention to Camy while I'm there. Not because I'm trying to convince her I'm the best person in the world or anything like that, just because I think that's what she needs from someone right now. And of course because I

her so much.

The other good thing is...Clemson beat Carolina 13-9!

I had no doubt at all that they would win.

Well, I think that just about covers it. I hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving. My contribution to this year's dinner will be macaroni and cheese because my dad and my brother have both admitted that they like mine better than my mom's

Maybe that's because instead of macaroni and cheese mine is more like...CHEESE and macaroni.

knows well, I tend to have strange dreams from time to time. It's been a long time since I dreamed anything, but I woke up from a really odd one this morning...

I dreamed that I looked out the front door and saw Savannah on the other side of the road, so I ran out to get her. When I got there, a truck pulled onto the side of the road and parked. The driver's side opened and a little boy got out. By little I mean older than Camdyn (3 years) but not by much. The little boy handed me a leash, for some reason I actually noticed what the leash had on it, it was a Dale Earnhardt Jr. one. I don't think I've dreamed in that much detail up until now lol. But anyway, the little boy asked "Which one of the dogs is your's?" After that I looked and...there were two black Standard Poodle puppies on the side of the road. I grabbed one and picked it up and said "This is Savannah." Then as I went into the house I kept noticing things about her that didn't seem right. Her nose seemed shorter than it should be, then I looked again and she had a bandana on and hair bows. When I got in the house my Dad was here for some reason and he asked me how she got out. I said "I don't know, she was in her crate in the bedroom and the door was closed." I carried the puppy to the bedroom and opened the door and...Savannah was in her crate.

Apparently the little boy followed me inside because I went back into the living room and the other puppy was there. My dad asked me where they came from...like I'm supposed to know. I just knew I definitely didn't need two more Poodles. I mentioned that they looked like they were just groomed so I was going to call Rhonda (the groomer who doesn't live that far from me) and find out if she recently groomed two puppies who may have gotten out or something. Then I realized that I didn't know Rhonda's phone number and that it's unlisted (which is very true lol) Then I said "Liz is the only other person around here who has Standard Poodles, I'll call her."

Right after that I woke up lol.

I finally took the plunge and started feeding my dogs raw food. I haven't followed a raw diet EXACTLY because that involves feeding bones and well, I am still a wimp but I can say that Kodiak and Savannah have both been eating raw chicken breast for the past two days and they seem to love it. My picky little Savannah has been finishing faster than Kodi! I now have a huge bag of chicken leg quarters and a food scale which I am supposed to put to use...hopefully by doggie dinner time I'll become brave lol.

This morning Kodi had a huge boneless skinless chicken breast (which I cut into chunks because I am a wuss) with two raw eggs beaten and poured over it. By the time I went in the house to get his Sentinel pill he had eaten all of it. Savannah had a smaller chicken breast with a little egg on it because I wasn't sure if she would eat it or not. She did. I also broke up the egg shells and gave them to Kodi because they're supposed to be a good source of calcium but he wasn't too fond of them lol. Now I have to talk my mom into buying raw meat for them. It shouldn't be much more expensive than the crappy dog food they are eating and I'm hoping I can talk her into it. I want to put Cain on raw too but she's being a bitch about it. Even though technically she has no say because he's MY dog. She seems to forget that sometimes.

She thinks it's disgusting and I admit I used to think the same but then I saw an Aussie on T.V. who was 9 years old and didn't look anywhere near his age was a champion show dog AND did agility who was fed raw. So if it can keep him that healthy why would it be bad for my dogs? Dog food is full of grains and perservatives. The way I see it is I'm feeding dogs, when I get a horse then I will start feeding grain.

I just have to make damn sure Liz doesn't find out I'm doing this.

I just had to switch songs REALLY quick. Camdyn came in and asked what it was lol. BAD MEME! No songs full of cuss words around the child!

My mom has found herself a Miniature Poodle. He got abandoned at the Vet Clinic with a broken leg quite a while ago. They operated and then my aunt Fran took him, named him Buddy and found him a new home. Well the new home didn't work out. Apparently he kept running away which leads me to believe that he was left outside. My mom has fallen in love with him. He's at the Vet Clinic right now so that his ears can get checked tomorrow then she's picking him up when she gets home from work. She changed his name to Casper which I think is an improvement over Buddy. I'm glad she found a dog to love and all, but I'm kinda mad that she'll bring another dog into the house yet she won't let me bring Kodi inside. I plan to really work on her about in the next few days.

I have Sugar Glider drama. George goes through these spurts where he likes to beat Kateena up. Usually he stops before it gets too serious. This time he decided not to and Teena was in terrible shape. When I went to feed them tonight she could barely open her left eye was missing patches of fur from her face and seemed very weak. I put her in a small travel cage, padded the bottom in case she falls and fed her lots of protein and calcium and well as dried fruit because it's packed with sugar. She has perked up some so I'm optimistic, but it's so easy for Gliders to stress and die so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

My dad is coming home Friday.

I'm not sure how long he's staying, probably until Sunday, but I don't think I'll be going with my mom to pick him up. I just don't think I could stay in such close proximity to him for that long without being very mean.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween. I did absolutely nothing besides torture the Chihuahuas with costumes lol. I'll upload the pictures to my gallery then move them to scraps a little later. Tomorrow I'm probably going to get party supplies for next year since it's the day after and they'll be cheap. Growing up my mom threw Halloween parties every year for my brother's birthday. Now that there are kids in the family I want to start doing the same. I even pretty much know what my costume for next year will be. I'm not telling yet, but it will involve one of my dogs.

Speaking of the dogs, they're all doing well for the most part. Kodi still isn't eating without being coerced into it. I'm still working on my mom to get him back in the house. She wants me to help clean out closets and offered to pay me, I'm gonna ask her to pay alright, but there won't be money involved

Savannah slipped her leash last night and pulled a disappearing act on me. It was already dark and well, she's black so I couldn't see her AT ALL lol. Luckily she didn't go far and was no problem to catch. It was actually sheer luck lol. I was dangling the leash (slip lead) and she ran through the end and I tightened it lol. But now I know that I am NOT going to be able to walk her on a slip lead. I'm going to stick to the Gentle Leader or try a martingale collar.

I've still been keeping Camdyn every other day and in the words of my Grandpa, "She's a doll".

that little girl so much. Liz's baby shower is on the 30th but I'm not going, just not my kinda thing lol.

I look like an abuse victim. I bruise pretty easily and have bruises on both arms and a big ugly one on my leg and all of them are thanks to...dogs. The one on my leg came from Kodi. He was sitting on the couch next to me and I threw his tennis ball for him. Instead of just jumping off the couch like a NORMAL dog would do he took it upon himself to use my leg to LAUNCH HIMSELF off of. It's been there about 2 weeks now and is slowly going away. As for my left arm, well my sweet innocent little Cain decided to RUN up my arm onto the back of the couch several times. Did it help that I told him no both times and threatened to put him back in his crate after the second time he did it? Of course not, the hard headed little brat did it AGAIN.

As for my right arm, I took Savannah out and noticed the sunset so I looped her leash around my arm so I could take pictures and she kept YANKING the leash. So now I have a bruise completely circling that arm. At least it's cold enough to wear long sleeves finally

Speaking of long sleeves, I took my Clemson jacket out of the closet yesterday and there was something BLACK on the back of it! I have no clue what it was or how it got there but I washed it and thankfully it came out or I would have been

Yesterday was Savannah's second walk ever. This time I took her to town to walk and she did very well. She's like Kodi and doesn't like big trucks, but she didn't totally freak out on me. She still tries to pull even with the Gentle Leader, but I'm hoping before too long I'll be able to wean her off it. She was very interested in a lady riding a bike on the other side of the street for some reason but overall I think she did well. We walked through the pumpkin patch the Methodist church has on the path and I should have taken my camera with me to get some pictures of the scarecrows. They're having a contest but I don't think any of them are really that good lol. Hopefully before Halloween actually gets here I can take Camy to get a pumpkin she really wants to carve or paint one. Of course I wouldn't let her carve it herself, but I told her she can pull the guts out and she seems to like that idea lol.

I'm still working on my mom regarding Kodiak coming back inside but so far it doesn't look good

One good thing about this week is that my dad decided not to come home Friday.

Well I brought Kodi back in and was convinced that this time it would be for good. He was behaving VERY well. I still didn't trust him with Camdyn though so I put him in the bathroom while she was here today. He had been in the bathroom the two days prior and hadn't messed with anything, he just laid in the tub lol. Well tonight he made the hole in the wall bigger *sigh* So I had no choice to put him back outside and now my mom is saying there is NO way she will allow him back inside, even if I buy him a more secure crate. I'm still going to work on her on it, but I'll let it rest for a couple days at least.

And then we have Savannah. I went to get her leash and when I turned around she was chewing on her hair bow. When she saw that I had noticed what she was doing...she swallowed it! Then when we came back inside she ran over and helped herself to some Diet Coke. Just a moment ago she was laying on my bed then moved and hit the wall, Tippy and Cain heard her and barked and once she heard them...she started barking at herself. I have never had a dog that barks like she does. She lets out one long LOUD bark, it kinda reminds me of a hound dog lol. Oh well, she knows how to keep things interesting I guess.

Oh and it's pretty much 100% certain that I will be keeping Miss Carsyn Rebeccah when Liz goes back to work. Another baby to spoil!

So this is basically how my day has gone....

Got offline around 2:30 this morning because

was not talking and I wasn't in a very good mood anyway.

Turned on the T.V., wondered how the hell my Dad got a key to the house and why the hell he came in and why my mom would allow him to sleep in her bed. Couldn't sleep so I sat in the living room until my mom got up around 6. Took a shower and waiting for Liz to bring Camdyn over.

Was told that even after I assured Liz that it didn't matter that my dad was here the night before she was not bringing Camy, that pretty much sent my whole day down the drain. Sat on the front porch with Savannah for a while.

Sat around doing nothing while my parents talked outside for at least an hour, once my mom left for Augusta I avoided my dad until he finally left around 2 o'clock. Went in my room and started watching SEABISCUIT which had been on a long long time, I just wasn't in the room...don't ask why lol.

Fell asleep watching SEABISCUIT after I had watched the end and restarted the movie. Woke up around 7 when my dad opened my bedroom door.

Took care of the critters, ate some noodles, drank a huge amount of water for some reason (2 bottles, which is a lot for me having done absolutely nothing all day lol). Spent the rest of the afternoon with Savannah while my dad was online in my room and now, here we are. Maybe THIS time I will actually watch SEABISCUIT.

My dad is here until Sunday morning. Chris is taking him to the airport. My mom is in Augusta until Sunday night so I'm here alone with Mr. Emotional Train Wreck. I'm planning to continue trying to avoid him unless he makes that not an option. My attitude toward him is very bad to start with and I don't deal well with overemotional people. He sat on the porch for a long time talking to his friend on his cell phone then came back in and said "Come here, hug me." He apparently didn't realize that he is tall and I am well...not so tall and he was hugging me so hard I thought his chest was going to suffocate me. Then he started crying again. This from a man who has been completely unemotional (other than being pissed off) my entire life. He VERY rarely even hugged us when we were little that I remember. I just don't get it.

I left Kodiak in the bathroom for less than an hour after I gave him a bath so he could dry without getting the entire house wet. I went back to get him and he had DESTROYED PART OF THE WALL! There was a place where a toilet paper roll hanger was that had fallen off. There was already a tiny missing part of wall but let's just say Kodi took it upon himself to make it bigger. Not too terribly much bigger, but there's still a hole in the wall.

I don't know what to do. I was relying on the fact that I would be able to keep him in the bathroom when my mom's home because Savannah needs his crate. But if he tore the wall up once I'm sure he'll do it again. My mom is gonna be so pissed!

*sigh* I guess maybe Kodi's return to the great indoors is gonna be really short.

Since last night I've been feeling really low. I guess it's a combination of all the stuff that's going on with my parents and knowing that my dad will be here very soon as well as finding out some of the stuff he's been doing. The only thing that really cheers me up no matter what's going on is Camdyn, but she went to Columbia with my mom and Liz today so I didn't have her around for very long.

So I did what I always do and tried to keep myself so busy I didn't have time to think about anything else, but unfortunately, I ran out of stuff to do lol. Then I decided the hell with what my mom says I did something that will probably make her mad...

I gave Kodiak a bath and brought him in the house. When she gets home I guess I'll beg to at least try it out for a week. I don't think she'll say no to that. I haven't talked about it much because it just makes me feel worse, but it's been 2 weeks now since Kodi was put outside and it's been horrible. Every time he sees me he starts whining, then it escalates to howling, then trying to climb the fence then biting it. I finally just couldn't take it anymore so that's how he ended up inside. It's really weird, I'd swear he's grown in 2 weeks or maybe I just didn't realize how strong he's gotten. He was intent on coming inside, he pulled me across the yard straight to the back door!

I know I'm probably ridiculously attached to all of my dogs, but there's just something about Kodi. When I'm feeling bad, Cain knows it and tends to get upset too and hide. Savannah could care less and is her normal hyper self. But Kodiak knows when something is wrong and gets clingy. When I've been sick he refused to leave my bed even when my mom came in. When I first found out about the whole situation with my parents he sat with his head in my lap while I cried. It probably doesn't make sense to many people, but man I love this dog!

It fucking pours.

So first of all I wake up this morning to my mom saying she needs to talk to me. I get Savannah outside then back inside and situated and she tells me that Liz went into labor last night. Of course that's bad enough under any circumstances, but Liz is unable to have a child naturally. She's had to have c-sections with both of the previous two and this one is scheduled to be done next month. I still don't know much about the whole situation. My aunt called my mom and said that Liz called her at 2 am and said they were leaving the hospital and that she was going home to rest. That's all the details I got. I know the baby wasn't born, (thank God because a couple weeks ago the doctor said she only weighs 3 lbs) but other than that I know nothing. I have tried to call Liz several times today but haven't gotten an answer.

And then my dad decided to call. I was in my mom's bed this morning because I just have not been able to sleep worth a crap the past week or so and the phone rang. I heard her talking and assumed maybe Liz or Fran had called back. Then I heard her crying so I went into the living room. She still won't tell me what that conversation was about, but a little later we went to the bank to see about getting some euros so I can send a payment to Italy. While there my mom asked for the statement for the joint checking account and was told that her name was taken off of that account today. This right after she had gotten off the phone with him and he was going on and on about wanting to be honest with her.

His latest

is that he hates New York and wants to leave so badly, but wants to make the right choice and doesn't know if coming back here is that choice. In my opinon after all the shit he's pulled, he shouldn't have a choice. My mom should NOT stay with him. But unfortunately I know that it's very possible that she will and if she does, I'm definitely outta here. I can't live with him again. He'll be lucky if I can even look at him without cussing him out. One slightly good thing that has come of this is that he wants Chris to pick him up at the airport Wednesday instead of my mom. That's good for my mom but not so good for Chris. He's claiming to be upset because he hasn't talked to Chris since he went to New York but you know what, boo fucking hoo HE is the one who said he doesn't have a son and said such terrible things about Chris. Maybe not to his face, but he still said them. Honestly, for a while I felt bad for him, but now I can't make myself give a shit. He brought it all on himself and I know when he gets here he'll try to put a guilt trip on all of us, but oh well too bad so sad as far as I'm concerned he can fuck off.

17. Im actually a very shy person.

18. I have two second cousins Conner and Camdyn, who I consider nieces and have another (Carsyn) that will be here in November

19. I plan to get all of my future pets from a shelter or rescue.

20. I really hope that when I have kids I will be able to be a stay at home mom, I dont think I would be able to trust anyone other than my own mother with them.

Well, Saturday my mom had finally had enough and quit her job. She was hoping she'd be able to go work in my aunt's office, but then my aunt made a comment about not thinking it would be a good idea (since my mom wouldn't be staying at home during the week to cut down on gas prices) with the seperation going on. Well Liz talked to my aunt because she can't work at the vet clinic anymore. It's too stressful for her and her blood pressure has been high which of course isn't good for her or the baby. Well she and my mom are both going to be working for Fran (at least until Carsyn is born) so that will cut down on the gas prices. My mom is in high spirits about it which makes me really happy and another thing that makes me happy is, I'm going to be keeping Camdyn! I don't know for sure how much I'll be paid or even if I'll be paid but I'd assume I will be. I'm also hoping that when Liz goes back to work after having the baby I'll be keeping her too. Although that's not definite but I know they can't pay the bills if Liz isn't working somewhere.

Of course there always has to be some rain on my parade. My dad is coming home on the 12th and staying until the 16th.

He will be staying next door though so at least that's a plus.
