So I did 100 drawings and paintings in 3.5 days purely to push myself. All traditional media on ~A3 paper, with the idea being to be forced to be spontaneous and learn to let go. I think it works out something like, you have to do 1 picture every 20 mins to make the deadline comfortably? Some I spent longer on, some were bullshit fast.. most insane and productive week of my life that week was, and I plan to do it again some time in the future!

Check out the results, and let me know what you think (keep in mind how fast I had to produce them!)
[link]

Cheers \m/

I totally forgot to post before the launch.. but if you're in Sydney you should go check out Clothespeg at the National Grid gallery before September 22: [link] Put on by the one and only Yolanda Stapleton aka Onetrickpony. I've got some prints exhibited, not sure exactly which were accepted, but mostly submitted my pictures with girls in them (Evelyn, Untitled, The Graeae, etc.). So go check it out and maybe pick yourself up some awesome cheap prints from over 80 artists/illustrators/photographers!

In other news, I just re-launched my website having rebuilt it with Indexhibit: [link]

If anyone out there needs cheap artwork for their bands demo / ep / etc. check out the 12x12 section on there.. I'm selling each of my 12cm x 12cm 'daily sketches' for $30AUD, so you'll have exclusive usage of it (ie. I won't sell it to anyone else, just will keep the rights for my promotional use). Trying it out as a possible project, instead of simply 'daily sketches' I will be using the project as a means of thinking about composition for the purpose of a cd cover. If it fails it fails, just a bit of fun!

As well as this I've got a few ideas in the pipeline for making a few extra dollars selling things at reasonable prices... Raising funds for something... which I won't announce just yet in case it falls through

Updating my blog every day now, with daily sketches (first 9 just uploaded to my gallery..) and news and random crap that I get overly excited about: [link] ([link])

PS. Pretty late to the game, but I finally saw Watchmen - and I thought it was pretty solid. Agree with what everyones been saying in terms of overly violent, and missing the point of the comic in not showing the violence in the Comedian's death etc. etc. But it's a directors interpretation, and I thought he pretty much nailed the characters. There were a many bits of painfully cringeworthy cheese, but overall I thought it was a good balance of representing the book and making a buck / catering to the masses.

One complaint I do have is the lack of talk of Veidts genetic modification experiments (ie. the tiger thing, which probably just seems like some random superhero fictional shite / cheapening the story, as opposed to relating to the books *giant squid*. I dunno, I still think the original ending was way more epic .

I can't get over how violent it was, but I feel it may not have been taken seriously without it. And I loved it . All this said, I don't know how many times I will sit through the movie again.

People in Perth: it's on at the Luna Outdoor in Leederville for the next week or so, and tickets are normal price (concession only $10!). Anyone else who has an opportunity to see it like this, DO IT!

Primarily will be using it for painting in photoshop and painter. Thinking about changing over to Mac, but I'm not too sure.

I was looking at a new Dell notebook they've released with 3gb ram and duocore etc. for $1800 AUD (about $1500 USD) which seems a pretty sweet deal. Plugging a monitor in at home is no problem either, with the apparent colour issues with dell laptops?
I've never been so creative in my life and pumping out so much work... all of which eventually I will be able to upload.

Now preparing for last semester at uni it's gonna be the most reclusive time ever but I'm looking forward to it .

I never write blogs but I guess this is for my own record mainly.

On a different note, just started watching Dexter season 1 and it looks promising. Possibly the BEST intro sequence ever too

Lotsa deviations coming soon
