So im back, and what a trip!

We left at 6:30 on the school mini bus and started the 11 hour long trip to Paddy's River Dam. We set up our tents in the cold night air, had a yummy dinner provided for us, and went to bed early for the long day ahead.

I wake up at 5am. And its cold, it felt like it was the coldest I had ever been :shiver: I pull my self out of my tent to see that a fire has already been started, I quickly run over and warm myself up. When I went back to my tent to get breakfast and noticed that it was covered in ice After every one was awake and ready we drove down to Tumbarumba to start the 30km leg of the journey. At first an easy walk through old mining sites from the gold rush back in the 1800's, where plenty of wombats had made their homes. We actually managed to catch a baby one that was out in the open, man was that thing pissed After every one took some photos of the little guy we set him on his way and our walk soon became some hard work, walking up and down the side of mountains through the thick bush. A while later the mountain seemed to disappear and we were walking on much easier terrain, we came across the log book, singed it, and were soon back at our camp-site.

The next day began early and cold, much like the last, we had breakfast, packed up camp and began another long 20km walk, a much easier walk through the bush, although 2 people still managed to get lost. They found there way back on track and we were soon on out way again, a short time later we arrived at Buddong Falls, an amazing spot in the Snowy Mountains with a freezing cold stream flowing down the mountain creating some spectacular views. After taking photos of the scenery my attention was quickly drawn upstream where people were seeing how long the could stay submerged for under the almost 0^o water. Then a pissing competition began, who could find the biggest piece if wood to put on the fire, it got to the stage where out supervisors told us that it had to stop, probably due to small trees being dragged trough the camp-site. Another cold night.

Day 3 begins at 5 again to start the fire, big breakfast, pack up, and we begin the walk down the mountain. Running down a 50^o slope with nothing stopping you is quite scary when you could slip and fall to your death. Might want to think that one over next time... After we got the the bottom of the hill we walked around a section of the Snowy Hydro Electric scheme, arriving at our cabins for the night, at last a warm bed and a hot shower [and a swim at the nearby thermal pool]. Then came the 9 hours of poker

Then another early morning so that we would arrive home before dinner, the bus trip was going well, until one of my migraines started [For those who don't know I get the symptoms of a stroke when I have a migraine, not good.] So I take some aspirin and the head ache goes away, all good right? Well no.
