My professor and I have some disagreement between the images, so I want some other opinions.
I have editing to do to each image, regardless, so I need to know so I can get to work!
(for the curious, the first one probably needs the figures to be closer for more detail, and some scars or scary stuff to be added to the shark fin. Plus more interest. Second one needs me to re-draw the shark and boy based on my anatomy studies and photo ref. Third one, the double page, needs me to edit the composition slightly as per professor's request)

Virtually all prints are cheaper if gotten through me. I can also matte them, and once I mass purchase some mailing tubes, my shipping should be relatively low.

DA has higher prices, so if you're ever interested in a print, feel free to note me, first!

Small prints (4x6") are generally $5 and under. And you can order them as post cards and get batch discounts.
Regular sized prints (8.5x10") are all $10 or less.
Larger prints up to 13x19" are only $18 or less. They turn out beautiful, too!
Anything larger you have to note me so I can get a quote, first.

I hand sign anything I mail out upon request.

Some people suggested a Mera sketchbook...
It is a GO! I can get some printed. I need to look into high quality paper, but for an 80 page blank notebook paper with a custom design cover (and I can even draw into the first page!) ... I can sell it for $10-15, which is quite affordable!

First of all, prints:
Small prints are easy to get, so they're not a problem, but LARGE prints. Have you ever been interested in large prints (13x19 or 18x24+) and if so, for my most popular images, what would be a fair price for prints of this size?
I can get away with selling 13x19 prints for about $12-20 on the lowest side. Higher if matted. 18x24" prints, however are more expensive to produce. I can get away, at the cheapest, $15, but I'd be taking a lot of risks if I didn't sell out. I feel a more fair price is $20-30.
What would you pay for a large print of artwork you liked? Of my art? (You won't offend me, I promise)

Mini sketchbooks:
I designed mini sketchbooks I can sell for under $5 (more like $1-3). They're 6-14 page 4x5.5" booklets filled with sketches, many of which aren't posted anywhere. They'd be printed on presentation paper in full color. I feel they'd be an inexpensive way to acquire artwork without much hassle.

originals:
a given. Paintings and other large pieces would be pricey as they are unique. Smaller and older pieces would sell for rates f $5-40 depending.
I also want to sell mini paintings done on tiny squares of paper or canvas for under $25, but as cheap as $10, Just cute little things that are easy to take home and unique.

t-shirts:
My friend and I will collaborate on tee shirt designs as for our first run, we can't afford as many and will probably each chip in. We're thinking of doing limited edition runs of 50-100 tees of possibly 2 designs. What would you like to see on a tee shirt if I were to design it? Animals? Fantasy? mythical creatures? let me know.

sketches:
I can do onsite sketches rather quickly, or I can sell older sketches for all under $15 (closer to $5-10) I'd rather take limited on site commission sketches, though, and focus on communicating with people and selling myself.

Stickers:
I can do a few print runs of stickers. THey're just cute sheets that come in either full page, half page or quarter page and are all pre designed. However, I can offer to make custom stickers and if I bring my printer, I could actually produce and print a sheet of them out in a 2-3 hour turnaround. I don't know what a fair price would be for this, yet.


... So! That's what I have for now. Even if you have no intention of ever going to a convention, let me know what would sound interesting to you if you saw it. Mostly, I need to do some financial research before I put down a lot of money to order supplies. I have to hurry, though! All your input is VERY appreciated.

So, I may not have a lot of money, but I've always been a deep supporter of the arts. I always try and keep a small side fund account that I can use to feed back into other artists so they can make some money off of their crafts. It makes me feel GOOD.

I see people throwing money to bums on the street with signs saying "I want weed" and it just INFURIATES me. If you think you're helping the homeless, you're NOT. T hey come back every single day. They don't put any work into what they do and they don't learn how to better themselves. I always tell my coworkers how angry I get and how that for every $20 they donate to a bum, they should INSTEAD give that money as a large tip to a street artist, performer, or a tip to a good waitress. Someone who is working.

If you feel the NEED to help the homeless, then go volunteer your time at a homeless shelter. You'll do them SO much more good. Or work at the Salvation army for free. Do some real work that will actually assist these people. Or find a group you can work with and donate the time it would take you to earn that $20 to instead help these people.


So, I was walking today, like every Monday night, to catch my bus. I passed this guy who I always see out on the street with an assortment of fabulous copper wire sculptures he makes. They're really cool and he makes them so quickly. I walked past him like I always do, thinking about how I comment a man like him. I was halfway down the next street when I stopped and thought "what am I doing?" I turned around and walked all the way back to the man and sat down next to him (with all my stuff) and had a big conversation. We talked about art and the people of the city, and he told me stories about his life. I asked how much his sculptures cost and the prices were VERY fair. And he reduced them for me. However, I look in my wallet... $4. ... I actually ran to the bank ATM, and came back; I had him make me a cat so I could give it as a gift to my mom, and I bought this really beautiful motorcycle he said he spent a couple hours on for my dad. He quoted me $25 for the two, and I pulled out $35 and gave it to him and told him I thought his work was worth that much to me. He smiled, thanked me, and gave me a third sculpture as a gift. Asked which of his Christmas items I wanted (they were all adorable!!) I came out with a copper reindeer even though the tree was hard to pass by, so it can sit next to the cat.

The man was this lovely jolly man from Texas who had lived out here for quite awhile. He told me a lot of stories about street artists, and people who just run by and stomp his works of art for no reason. He told me about meeting the woman he almost got married two, and how lights kept flashing in their eyes, which made him feel it was to be. I had a ton of work to do. I'm a poor college student. But taking that time to actually talk to fascinating people is worth the extra tip on its own.

I highly suggest you people take the time to speak to strangers. Get to know someone new. Support the arts, or support someone less fortunate than you who works hard at what they do.

You can bet I'll stop by next week to talk to him again.

It's starting to become hilarious. Yesterday someone asked where I was from and I told them and asked what they thought. They said I sounded Norwegian... WHAT!?

I have had many many people I work with tell me I sound Irish. At first I thought it was just because we hire a lot of Irish folk (and I'm pasty white), but then some strangers at In-N-Out asked me if I was Irish.

I've had people say I sounded Russian to Dutch to a few other really random European countries. I've only had ONE person proclaim I sounded Canadian when they thought I was from somewhere else.

Just thought this was funny. Most of you have never heard me speak, but... I imagine the vast majority of you would say I sounded VERY American (ask ~Hyunthesosarian). I really can't figure out why so many people keep assuming I'm so foreign.
I even had one Brazilian guy tell me "Maybe people just assume you can't be American because you're not rude!"

So my subscription ran out. And I was trying to figure out what the biggest difference is now. Apparently it's like... add free and just the 120 thumbnail browsing (WHICH I LOVE MIND YOU!)
... I'm trying to decide if it's worth renewing. I've had a subscription for quite a few years now, but slowly they've made the free version of the site pretty pimptastic on its own.

Um, so I have nothing real to say so I'll say that I've been sick. poo. No swine flu for me, no. Instead I just got a terrible cold, lost my voice (doesn't work with a taking job) and slept. A LOT!

I want to do a ton of art, but I fell behind with my sleeping. soon my fellows, soon.

Also, I was totally the uncool kid at a Halloween party where everyone was drinking. I was carrying a water bottle aroound, because I couldn't talk unless I guzzled water 'cuz my sickness. Then, when I did drink, the three gallons I had had in water probably canceled all effect of alcohol.
I must say that I felt pretty fine when I was the one without a hangover in the morning... YAY!

I want to have more than one day off a week.

Beyond that, KITTENS! So I almost rescued a kitten from someone but they decided to keep it. I'm very happy that the kitten is in a good home, but I realize how sad and kitten free my home is, so I'm going to adopt one as soon as I finish my traveling this year. So I'll either bring one home at Christmas time (I drive back to SF) or I'll adopt one out here. HAPPY DAY!

What. The. Hell.

OKAY NEWSFLASH TO ALL ARTISTS! One does not have to be a big time professional in order to hand out critique. In this case, the artist giving the critique was RIGHT, and the "professional artist" and his friend were just unable to receive any criticism.

I seriously have no real response to that other than to leave a super lengthy critique comment and see what happens. I cannot stand people who assume that they're better than everyone nd therefore on a higher plane. My honest belief is that once you place yourself above all other artists, you won't ever improve because you can't allow yourself to anymore.

If I ever act like that, kick me or something.

(Now, I want to add that I do NOT advocate leaving any flames for this person. However, I highly advocate leaving intense critique if it's true)

Oh well, Some battles aren't worth fighting. I still state that I wish to never have such over the top ego about people who are "lesser" leaving critique. I respect everyone's critique.

Considering I have actually work I NEED to do on it, this is a big problem.

I'm going to try and uninstall it and re-install it as resetting the computer didn't do anything.

So... a request.

Who wants to tell me the best way to crack a CS program? I don't care which version, I just want some digital art back in my life! (and photo editing software... no photoshop is like amputating my foot!)

YAY SOLVED!

So, apparently holding Ctrl + Alt + shift gave me the chance to reset my settings, and therefore, fixed the mystery problem. I'm still interested in upgrading to a newer version, however!

And, while I'm on the topic of computer problems, I've had my trusty Oliver (my laptop) for two years now, and while everything used to run super fast, it's all slowing waaay down. I'm about 90% sure this has something to do with my MASS CLUTTER, but... I'm curious if you computer techies who spend more time online other than AIM and art sites know the best ways to speed up a computer.

I use Windows Vista, btw. I'm not BAD at computers; I'm actually pretty good if I put my mind to it. Just... I tend to never have enough time.

If people ever wanted to take a concept of mine, or one of my species or characters and make their own version, or a fan character, I'd be honored, actually. Just because someone creates something doesn't mean that it becomes instant cannon. People might be off a little, but that doesn't bother me. In fact, the only thing I would like for people to do if they ever did this was just to let me know, so I can see what you came up with!

I see no reason to ever make any of my characters/species exclusive if I've already actively posted them. In fact, I find it a learning experience to become inspired and to draw from your inspiration without fear that some artist will crash down upon you.

On that note, tracing, referencing, ect doesn't bother me, either as long as proper credit is given to me. I have to say that I don't think tracing teaches you a lot, but, I do think that emulating a style completely different from your own can really help you learn as an artist. Therefore, it's yet another thing most people get worked up about that I'm not offended by.

The only thing I AM against is reposting my work elsewhere without attributing it to me, or modifying/editing anything of mine without explicit permission, and editing my watermarks.

On a side note about art and style, are there any tutorials you people would be interested in? I've heard a lot of interest in seeing how I color from people in class, and I figure I might make a tutorial sometime. Most of my methods are either made up on the spot, or a huge mixmatch of all the things I've learned from others over the years. maybe I'll just try and put together some beginner level to intermediate level tutorials on how I approach subject matter. I might make a couple of fantasy anatomy ones too... maaybe. Let me know your opinions!

I have a shit ton of half finished artworks, or linearts everywhere, and I don't know what to do with it. I'm trying to keep this gallery more finished stuff. And I'm not feeling ready to set up my blogspot.

I've contemplated selling some of my lineworks, etc, but dunno if anyone would be interested. Oh well. A full time job is pretty much paying for waht I need now.

I do a ton of schoolwork and then waste my remaining time (when I'm not working) lamenting.

I realized I'm turning 21, and I have NO PLANS WHATSOEVER! Hahaa, hopefully someone takes control, or I'll just wind up sleeping or going to Disneyland because it's free or whatever. My mom kept asking me if I wanted to be taken out to a bar, and she's all excited. I'm very "meh" about the whole thing.

On the bright side, I got an apartment out in SF, and I'm sososooo excited to get back to it! My guyfriend and I are going to have a sushi/sake night with me when I get back, then we'll probably frolic over to the island and chill staring at the waves... as long as neither or us falls in, all is well!

Only sad thing about moving out is it'll be a little more difficult to see my friends out here. In this case, I'm going to have to be more proactive and force them to come visit :3
I have an island. That should be good enough to get out here!

Also, I should mention that I spent the weekend with my younger cousin and did a lot of activities. She kept up very well on a nice 20-22 mile bike ride, including the last twenty minutes where we just peddled as fast as we could to catch the ferry on time. I paid for the first trolly ride I've taken since I came here (I only jumped on it once before, and that was just because my leg honestly hurt too much to walk at any sort of fast speed, AND I needed to get somewhere in a hurry.), moved, AND cooked a couple of meals with her.

Yeah. exciting times. school is out in a week, then I'm flying to Chicago, THEN Michigan, THEN Southern California before I finally get back here. Then I'm back to work.

first: my job! I'm actually REALLY liking it so far. However, it's going to be a full time thing with 10 hour days on my weekends! Oh boy! So You might see less of me. I rent bikes out in San Francisco to tourists or bay area residents, and, considering my interview seemed to consist of taking the FULL bike ride, I can quite honestly say it's a pretty awesome thing. So, I highly suggest to any of you people out visiting the bay area to think about renting a bike there are some surprisingly flat and really pretty bike paths out here!

second: I'm honestly considering doing a Ustream. I'm just having that feeling of how it might be awkward if I mess things all up... but... WHATEVER! I'm a very imperfect artist, but if anyone would be interested, let me know! I'll try and set one up when I have free time.

He did some collaboration prints with ~jennadelle (not on DA any longer) that look just beautiful, and are so inexpensive! I highly suggest you all take a look and see if you can afford to help. I always complain about money, but... for the chance to have something special AND for the chance to help a friend in ONE, I couldn't pass this by.

I always need stuff for school. So much stuff! I dread going to the store, sometimes, because of how the prices of all the little art things adds up so much!! Anyway... how about this. Instead of taking a commission with money, I could take it as a trade for art supplies. Aka, if you sent me watercolor paper, I'd do a watercolor for you. If you sent brushes, I could do something in watercolor or gouache. If you sent pencils, I could do a sketch, if you sent a sketchbook, I could do a few things in it and mail them back. If you sent ink or quill tips or pens, I could do an inked piece. Basically, it's just an exchange where I'll try and make whatever I do in return equal in value (artistically?) to what I receive.

Only catch is that I'm a wee bit picky. Not 100% picky, but still a little. Certain things, I really don't mind at all what brand it is, especially if it's something new I would like to try out. However, there are certain brands I will avoid (such as with watercolors, the cheapest watercolors don't work as well).

I take things you found in the closet, too, but you still have to run all the information of what it is past me.

Well, here's a list of things I KNOW I need:
inking supplies (Almost any pen, especially nifty ones. Quill tips and/or various inks)
Watercolor supplies (Watercolor paper The paints themselves, trays, brushes, etc)
brushes (I actually have a LOT, but some are older and not as good. I like having a variety, however)
Computer inks (I can't offer a digital picture in return, due to the lack of tablet, but this is an idea for the future :3)
Anything else is certainly open for discussion!!

I'm excited, and hope one or two people might take me up on this. I might keep this offer open indefinitely, as well!

it's Christmas, and I just paid my bills... therefore I'm low on money again Being unsure if I have a job or not, yet, I'll be willing to take a few more icon commissions on my plane ride.

My goal is to make enough to cover possible expenses, next month's bills, and maybe have enough left over to take my little brother out to the movies as a treat (I love doing this because my family doesn't often go to the theater anymore, especially now that my older brother and I don't live at home).

Indigenous Sorcery: I found a rather nice print shop with inexpensive 13x19" prints! Because of this, each print will only be $15 (Plus about $5 shipping), but I can only take orders until 5PM tomorrow!(Thursday. California time)

First of all, life is really busy, so I apologize if you're included, but I cleared out about half of my watch list, and might clear more out later. I'm NOT ignoring your art if you're in here because... I bookmarked all the people I removed. I just have too many messages to keep up with, and instead , I wind up commenting to almost NO ONE. I would like to cut my watch list waaay down, and only watch my absolute favorite artists, or else those who talk to me all the time on here. I frequently visit the pages of people who watch or comment me and browse around.. I'd like to leave more comments x3

Beyond that: comiccon is over ( a week ago). It was a loot of fun, and there's really not much I can think that needs to be said other than "I'm going next year!" I met some people up there too!
! Sorry we didn't have nearly as much time to chill. You're always fun to talk to and I love doodling your characters.
Let's just say that I'm glad we met up, along with Kara! I'm always a little leery meeting new people (and excited), and you both really outdid my expectations! I'm so sorry about your glasses, though.
Besides being amazed we indirectly knew each other though pokemonathon, you were really cool and lots of fun. Plus, your reactions towards seahobos is anything but priceless. It's too bad you won't be back next year, but I'm glad to have met you ^^
Sooo sorry we did the same thing AGAIN this year where we only ran into each other for a few minutes. Well, we need to meet up before I go back to San Francisco to remedy that! Your costume was really sweet and you looked good... and I'm really not a fan of Naruto, even!

Beyond that, I REALLY injured my right shoulder... um... dusting for spider webs at work. Don't ask, because I honestly don't know, but apparently holding a wobbly pole twenty feet into the air gives it the tendency to jerk around. So... I thought I pulled my deltoid, but my shoulder keeps popping, and it hurts like living hell if I move it above my head or in certain directions (better, but it's been four days with no improvement!) I'm going to the doctors tomorrow to make sure I didn't mess anything up, or pull it out of socket :/ I'm really worried, because among my fears, something happening to my drawing arm is one of them. (that and cataracts... I always drive with sunglasses). So yeah... wish me luck that this goes away! I stole some of my mum's 600mg motrin tablets, and it doesn't seem to do anything!

Um, other than that... in one month I'm going back up to San francisco! I'm sooo excited for this! I'm getting tired of work, and just want to... do school work, now x3 Plus, surprisingly my school morning classes let me sleep in longer than my current job lets me so I may be napping a little less (I've finally started going to bed at midnight rather than three/four AM! What a miracle!)

So... that's life for now. Hope you guys are doing well, too! I have commissions to finish, and I'll try and get those once I'm done packing/if my arm lets me

While I do not mind at all people claiming to be my friend, or people who would like to talk to me--in fact, I ENCOURAGE IT--I do, however, feel the need to call out on those who are out to potentially harm me. Actually, I'm not really worried about reputation, because anyone who knows me knows what I actually will and won't do; however for those who DON'T know me, I wanted to make a little call out.

A mr. /~Whittaker-Law has called me out as his best friend on his page. I couldn't mind except that he seems to believe that I'm also in league with him to kick another unnamed deviant off of this site. It's really a huge misconception, and in fact, I have my doubts that Law is a separate deviant, and is instead, someone's spare account. I had a little argument, one that I would actually call harmless over... yes. The April fools mudkip issue. Someone got angry that I told them to calm down, and they blocked me from their page (I never left any comments), assuming that I was, well, to put it bluntly, following their every move, causing harm by visiting their page now and again, and that I was an evil girl out to get them kicked off deviantart. Really... No. I have much better things to do than to seek and destroy people who I really don't know. I WILL reply to any message ever sent to me to try and explain an issue that I believe they have a misconception on, but it's not really in order to piss them off, but to inform them. if they take it the wrong way, that's their problem.

To get back on topic and further state the reason why I felt this was necessary is because Mr. Law sent both ~child-dragon and myself a note that actually threatened us with legal action for... visiting someone's page on DA against his will. Yes, I'm not shitting you there. Besides the fact that visiting someone's page on the internet is NOT illegal, a false note threatening legal action IS illegal as it is illegal to impersonate a lawyer in the united states

I debated against writing this, but decided to. I'm about 80% sure that both Law, and the person who I think controls his account(or else a close friend) want me removed from deviantart for um... doing nothing other than disagreeing with him. I know that won't happen, my account is here to stay, so I'm not worried about that; however, a little voice in the back of my head worried that he might be sending notes or messages to people other than just myself and my one friend, and I felt like the issue should be addressed.

NEEDLESS TO SAY I shouldn't have to even state this, but PLEASE do not feel any need to get involved. I just wanted the issue addressed in public, so it's recorded in writing I tried to leave a small message on Laws page, and he hid it; therefore, this is necessary.

EDIT
In addition, I have further reason to assume that this Law character is actually just a spare account of someone else. In his first note to myself and my friend, he put his name (her?) as Shelby Whittaker. However, now he/she signs their name as Joe Smith. Hym. Also, odd how he blocked me from his page for just stating that I didn't actually know him... exactly like the other person did when I said a single thing against them. They could be just buddy-buddies, but normally, a person can remember their own name. Oh well. I believe the fact that I'm blocked from their page should be enough proof to show that I'm not actually friends with the person.

Also: ~child-dragon wrote a response journal to this on troll prevention techniques. I consider her tips to actually be very useful and true.

I wanted to put this up about a week ago, but I was... lazy, really. Unpacking slowly, and getting re-settled. Well, here we go! I absolutely loved all the entries in the contest, and I had a really, really hard time choosing the winners. well, onward!

So, well, there were originally supposed to just be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner but... I decided to impliment a grand prize winner ... I assure you this has nothing to do with ~madmooage coming to San Francisco and beating me up in person... Really!

I thought it was a really great idea not just re-designing one thing, but two, and mixing them together. She mixed the winged tiger character Talonosh with a Biddinal, creating a very nifty in-between character. It was a unique take on the re-design challenge.

UPDATE
So, a deep thank you to for the subscription. HOWEVER, I'm still willing to sell originals and prints. Why? I want to eat something other than Rice for the next two weeks + until I get a job when I go home. Right now, I take payment either through subscriptions, or through paypal. Money orders are possible, but I've never done one, before. I'm also willing to take payment in gift cards, if they're good for stores where I purchase school and/or living supplies.

Regular prints (standard paper 8.5 x11") goes for $10
Larger prints start $15 and up. Specify the size you want, I can get it printed at the local Kinkos. (I have two extra large prints of Riders of the Apocalypse, 11x17", but not on photo paper--still good, though!--that I'll give out for $8 and $10)

I'll still pay for shipping for regular prints, but for extra large, I MAY require some additional fee for shipping. I think I have a way to do it inexpensive, but I would have to check on that.

OTHERWISE, original artwork goes $5 to $15 for sketches, and up depending on what you want.
Paintings and more finished work goes higher, because there is only ONE original. Ever.

I don't have time for any more commissions as of now. I owe one, and I'm going to have extra work after the contest concludes (TWO WEEKS Get entries in <3), but maybe afterwards I'd take some, depending on how busy I am over the summer.

HOWEVER, I'm considering taking a very special commission. A sketchbook commission. They would be $50 and up, but you would get an entire sketchbook with drawings of your choice, a different amount of drawings depending on how much the book goes for, + additional inked and colored art to go along with it, depending on price. Once the book is finished (I'd keep you updated on progress, at least one drawing a week), I'd mail it to whoever commissioned it. Of course, not only do you get drawings, but you get the extra pages of the sketchbook to draw in yourself!

If anyone considers taking me up on this offer, I won't do more than one of these a year, ever. This might even be the only one I'd ever take, depending on complexity. Whatever the case, I'm willing to shoot for it because I really need money to keep me eating next semester after I pay for school supplies xD

And inspiration, too. I actually feel proud when I find the rare page where someone was inspired by me.

Maybe I'm just not completely worried about the world being out to steal my ideas. See, it's not like they could get it right, anyway, because so much of my everything has more backstory than they could know. Plus, really, it's not like concepts aren't repeated everywhere you look. The key is to just trying to attempt to pull something off that may not be 100% original by making it appealing.

This is mostly in response to DA submitting a FAQ where they stated that they're not going to worry as much about people tracing screenshots:"Essentially this means that if someone copies or traces a screenshot from their favorite cartoon the staff will be more forgiving and if someone has copied or traced your original artwork or photograph they will be less forgiving; especially if you are the one to file the official complaint."

That doesn't bother me. I'm going to be the first to admit that in my youth I TRACED SOME IMAGES!!! I don't think there are any in my gallery, but I know that as late as jr. high, I would still, now and again, trace images I really loved, or found interesting, because it actually does unlock some techniques you might have missed "aaah, so that's how you draw water." It wasn't something I did everyday, and I didn't want to 100% emulate someone else's style, but I used it as a learning tool. If someone wants to overly rely on tracing, I can just say that they'll come across as not only a lesser artist, but that they'll never get anywhere in the real world. DA poopularity does NOT equal real popularity.

I love to give gifts, too!! I'm even planning a surprise gift for my parents right now that will totally take away from homework, but I think it's worth it. and being affectionate isn't anything bad. I really love to meet new people and make friends, but I sometimes feel like people are afraid to talk to me because I can be rather forward now and again, or a little hyper. Plus, I'm shy, and I overthink everything.

Oh gosh, what wouldn't I tell you? Honestly, if you asked anything too personal, I probably wouldn't tell you, just because I'm not keen on sharing that. Same goes for if you asked anything sexual. Even if I wasn't bothered by the question, I wouldn't have an answer! I think I disappointed :devfurtureperfekt: when she asked me in class who I'd date if I could date any one person from history. I either wanted to go with someone currently alive, or else I wanted a single unromantic date just to share ideas with ancient painters xD
And what's my favorite question to be asked? oh! Honestly, I like to answer questions. Note how my answers get so big. Seriously, though, it would be someone expressing interest in my work/concepts, and asking me where I get my ideas, or for more information about a character or species. I love to idea bounce with people.

Me too, actually! You don't sound too strange, because I always find myself sleeping in not because I'm lazy, but because I enjoy the dream world too much.

Even though I'm pursuing the arts, I think I would have rather been born a prodigy or genius in the science field, because then I'd actually have the chance to do some major changes. My brother isn't a genius at all, but he blows us away with the stuff he's been allowed to work with in his chosen field in aerospace engineering. Maybe I could have been a biochemist and found a cure to a major disease.
Honestly, though, with my current life path, I would have to say being a prodigy/genius in the arts sounds appealing. I often feel quelled by those people who are so utterly amazing, and I work harder and harder to push myself, but I'll still probably never reach the levels some people who are just so gifted can reach.

Alright, enough people are showing an interest in this, and it hasn't even been too long, that I figure I might as well announce it.

CONTEST!
Theme: To concept and re-design my pre-existing characters.
Current Due date: MAY 15th (You have a little under two months.)

Contest information:
Often times, I see artists get stuck with a single idea for a character, and feel unable to change them. However, with an open mind, the possibilities for making these characters more interesting is quite endless.

Your job is to take an existing character or species of mine and re-draw it however you want. This means that you can do anything from designing an aquatic Meradragon, to giving Islenteon a new outfit, to re-designing a species of mine into something you find a little more interesting, even to taking a character and re-designing their personality.
I am trying to make this contest as open as possible. It's entirely based upon creativity, and while drawing is the main medium, you could write up and entry, sculpt one, or any other way you have of expressing your idea.

Entries are due April 15th, and the deadline will be announced if it changes.

Rules:
Rules are VERY simple for this contest.
1. You can enter as many times as you'd like, but can only win one prize if you're chosen.
2. entires must have SOMETHING to do with the original concept. I want people to be as creative as they'd like, but if you enter a picture of a hot pink, male, dog, and say it's the new design for Mera, with no explanation, you probably won't win On the other hand, if you entered a hot pink, dog figure, but kept her personality in store, and kept a few aspects of her showing through, that would be more creative.
3. You can draw whatever content you want in the images, up to R for violence, but please, nothing lewd. sexual in nature doesn't bother me, persay, but I'd rather not see pure pornographic images.
4. If you have any problems, or questions, feel free to note me. If you'd like to try something highly original, still, feel free to. I won't be angry about changing the characters. In fact, that's still something I encourage.
5. Just enjoy yourself!

Judging: Judging will be done upon the grounds of creativity far more than art skill. This is to level the fields and make it something anyone could join. More specific judging criteria might be announced later.
