I went with my two neighbors, Connor (6, the main reason we went lol) and Coleman, who suffers from the mind-impairing disease "8th-grade-guy-itis." Lord have mercy, right? O_o

BUT. I have never ever ever gotten so much candy. Coleman got 5 lbs, we went to his house afterwards, and they had a tub which hi folks had filled with 5 lbs of candy before the ToTers came. and Cole managed to fill it BY HIMSELF. And I had AT LEAST as much candy as him xDDD

Our legs were super sore, is all I can say. We must've walked EASILY 2 miles last night, and trust me I have no intention of leaving my house today

The whole family (I'm their adopted daughter lol) watched Arachnophobia. Ms. Lisa and her mom and little Connor kept screaming whenever the spiders popped out, and Mr. David and I just kept laughing our butts off lol. By the time I left at 11:30 Coleman was fast asleep right there on the couch xDDD

I carved three pumpkins. One was for my neighbor, I carved her dog onto a pumpkin lol.
The other two were epic. One was the Star Trek insignia and the other one was SPOCK!

Holy shit.


It was PHENOMENAL.
And that doesn't do it justice.


The film is just the concert made up by rehearsal footage and the special effects screens, but oh my God was it fucking awesome. You can only imagine the greatness of the actual concert... And knowing what I do now, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to pay mega-bucks to attend it. I quite honestly think it would have been the best-produced concert of all times, not to be matched in the near future.

And this is all from a Mexican money-hoarder who was never a Michael Jackson fan.


Go see it. I guarantee that it's worth your time. You can flay me if you see it and disagree.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, “Common Sense,” who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:



- knowing when to come in out of the rain;

- the early bird gets the worm;

- life isn’t always fair; and

- maybe it was my fault.



Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).


His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.


Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.


It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.


Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims.


Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.


Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, “Truth” and “Trust,” by his wife, “Discretion,” by his daughter, “Responsibility,” and by his son, “Reason.”


He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers – “I Know My Rights,” “I Want It Now,” “Someone Else Is To Blame,” and “I’m A Victim.”


Not many attended his funeral, because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

The one thing I like about Texas?
The autumn days feel just like spring days in Baltimore.

So yep. I have my Halloween costume all set for the end of the month. I'm planning my pumpkin designs, though nothing can beat my "Obama" pumpkin from last year. I got so many compliments for that thing, and considering it was being displayed in TEXAS... that's saying something xDDD

Anyway. My artist's block is semi going away now. That Old Black Magic was actually taken on the day it was posted -- "1d 17h ago" -- and I personally find that heartening news

I'm switching schools in January. Not much to say about that.

Erm. Yep. As soon as I get good ideas I'll be posting more photos. I actually think I'm off to do a shoot right now, since I'm home alone

I took a practice SAT test -- NOT the PSAT -- through a private company a week ago and got my results yesterday.
I got a 1760. Yay? I missed like most of all the math questions, I got a 490 but the very lowest one can get is a 200. And supposedly it only goes up to sophomore-year math, geometry, but I'm taking junior-level math... I fail xDDD

Yepyep. There's that. I had to express my sense of failure lol. BUT! I could actually get into some of my top-choice schools with 1760. And if my math score were about 400 points higher, I could apparently get into Yale

Life sucks. Heh.
I'm in a mood to take photos but the muses really kind of hate me right now.
I hate it when that happens.

And I need to go write an English paper now, so... farewell.

So I'm thinking that'd be the ultimate game for us to play on the way to the beach this summer or something.

I have money but it's all in an envelope right now and since I'm short of funds from bloody textbook fees (I only have $170 now, I had like $310; $116 on textbooks and the rest on God knows, probably movies) I'd rather not use it. I guess I'll have to wait for my $50 on Saturday, I'm babysitting my neighbor's kids. And a new family just moved in two houses away, me and my father met her yesterday, and she might be hiring me as well xD

I NEED NEED NEED A WORK PERMIT. Seriously. I know I can Google it, but does anyone know how to go about getting a work permit? Specifically in Texas? Mweep.

Umumum. I haven't shot anything in AGES, folks, and I'm sorry, but using artificial light has not worked for me and sunlight only comes in through the window in the morning. And I'm ASLEEP in the morning C; I might shoot outside someday but it's SOOOOOO hot. It's insane. I think the past week it's been 95+ degrees every day. It rained yesterday though, I was like

Also I've been thinking a lot about my next camera. I'm not getting rid of this one anytime soon, but if anyone has some good DSLR recommendations I'd love to hear. Main things I want in my next camera: I need to be able to purchase and attach a wide-angle lens. And I NEED THAT AUTO-BRACKETING FEATURE, DAMNIT! and... Hm. That's it, I think. Haaaaa.

I'm in the Phoenix airport right now and have been driving all through Arizona the wholeeee week. Beautiful state, I tell you!

Some are spoof/family shots though. And multiple exposures of one image... I'm going to try my hand at HDR! We'll see how that goes xDDD

I had a mini photo-shoot last night, semi-successful.

That's purdy much it.
I reviewed my whole gallery today for my friend... hooray for old photographs. It's sad to see how dull my old work was, except for Lobby of course

Well. I just wanted to get my journal back to normal.

By the way, winter photoshoot = never happened.
Sorry, folks, I know I promised, but I can't use Hebe anymore since I left her in Mexico, and well I'm not my best model. Especially not my best HAND model; that was my master plan. Maybe one day you'll see.

Anyway, I'm a little calmer now.

Not completely all right and at peace with life, but yeah.

I'm still on my internet hiatus, but yesterday I edited a bunch of photos from last year that I thought would be useless but turned out rather well.

Not much else to say.
Except that two weeks ago I woke myself up at 8:30am (GAH! The teenage horror!) to take some good pictures of a field. Don't ask. Suffice it to say, the fog was really beautiful, the cows were PERFECTLY positioned, and when I went to get them off my memory card... it exploded. Digitally died.

So that memory card is invalid now. And it was a 2GB, too! Ugh.

But I got a new one from my father today, so I guess it's all good except for the forever-lost perfect photographs from that morning.

I'm excited for the Christmas Coca-Cola cans

But yeah, apart from that, life is okay.

I got two new VASES today!
One is like my usual white one, except I obtained one in frosted orange.
And I got a round white vase as well, which I can't wait to use, since I've got tons of ideas for it

I also got a new printer. And a file cabinet to put it on. Which means I can print photos for myself now! And I rearranged my room, too. And I looked through and organized my old files *phew* *dies*

All in all it's been quite a productive day.
Oh, and we got a "foosball" table. Fancy that ♥

And I got an iTunes account yesterdayyy. And got the Bride of Chaotica suites from iTunes. I know nobody cares/knows what the hell that is (except any random Trekkie passing by... meep...) but yeah, I had been waiting and searching a long time for those tracks xD

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I got some amazing fruit-scented candles today. They smell scrumptious-- you feel as if you could eat them

So all in all, this'll hopefully mean more photos.
Especially in this invigorating and lovely October weather.

A surprise from my folks. Since Laptop was dying, I'd been begging for month for my dad to consider obtaining me a new CPU.

Windows Vista is really not that horrible!
All my programs have so far worked perfectly, which is good.
If Photoshop hadn't worked I would've been PISSED

The only wee problem I'm having is that the keyboard and mouse are having trouble adjusting. Especially the keyboard, it forgets to type letters. And the mouse sometimes become unresponsive *shrug* It may be the batteries. Or maybe I should just use the keyboard and mouse that came with the computer, eh? xD

Anyway what this means for me here on dA:

A. Casi se me olvidaba: Folks, last night at the independance day celebration in Morelia (was it Morelia? hm) there was a terrorist attack. Eight people died and one hundred twenty more were seriously injured. It makes me sad and so angry that the idiot traficcers won't even respect our country's traditions.

My point, though: Please pray for the families of those who were senselessly murdered and for those who are injured.

Right now we're preparing for hurricane Ike... the path of the hurricane is seriously projected to be about half a mile away from my school. Like, literally, you can see it on Google Earth. The thick blue line runs right next to my school And my house is half a mile away from my school xDDDDD

So my dad's probably gonna come back from Home Depot in a few hours with the planks to board up the windows. That's how bloody full the store's gonna be, poor him D:

We were going to evacuate to San Antonio this morning, but when my dad looked for a hotel away from home, he found NO empty rooms anywhere. Not even in Laredo, which is like five hours away and on the border with Mexico!!! So we're just gonna sleep in my parents' walk-in closet and weather the storm xDDD

Wish me luck! My power might be out for a few weeks, there's no way to know. Just an FYI!

I need to finish Breaking Dawn-- I think it's a miracle I haven't finished it yet, but I guess I'm reading slowly D:

Anyway it's way too freaky.
I still think Stephenie Meyer would have been SO much smarter to just leave it at Twilight. I mean, it's just turning into crap. Bella is like obsessed with sex, when did this happen?! I know, I know, at the end of Eclipse. That still doesn't change how tiring and sickening it's getting, it's like she can think of nothing else?! Dx

Anyway I agree with what I heard someone else day-- Meyer was not herself when she wrote it.

I still think she's an excellent writer, but she went too far out with Breaking Dawn. Seriously.

Anyway. I've yet to transfer pictures from the end of July all the way up to this here end of August D:

Hopefully it'll be easier because my dad's leaving for Baltimore tomorrow-- his computer will be free and I can transfer the photos sin problema (My computer long ago decided it didn't like cameras. It kinda sucks.)

The drive back was okay for the most part, I was very impressed with my dog's behaviour! She'd never been in a car for more than twenty minutes, and suddenly she's in the car over twenty hours...?!

CROSSING THE BORDER IS SUCH A HOLY DEBACLE!!!
I swear, they need to get frikkin organized! The Mexican side more than the United States side, but the American side too! ARGH!

I can't believe there are people who go through that EVERY day! O_O

Anyway. We got home just now, Princess is all hyper and checking the house out

Okay for starters: The car ride was a NIGHTMARE. Nineteen hours in a car with my [very angry and irritable] father and my [always saying "I-told-you-so"] mother and the [poor, often ignored] GPS navigation system

Um well my dad had to bribe a policeman to save himself from a speeding ticket... it was hilarious though, because he started pretending to not be able to speak Spanish

Policeman: "No tiene a alguien en el carro que hable mejor Espanol?"
Father: "No! Yo poder hacerlo perfectamente!"

It was hilarious, truly xD

But the policmen, ugh, hypocrite... he took the bribe without any hesitation O_o

And uh... I got strangled by a seatbelt. They had to use scissors to cut it because I couldn't breathe. My dad was cursing at me and yelling at me... Enough said xDDD


So yeah we finally got there and I went to the freaky camp I go to every year. This is the last summer I'm going to be able to go... So yeah.

Hebe was there for a while but then she left for Queretaro to see our nephew Hector. Ugh... frankly I hate how everybody is SOOO obsessive about that kid! >_<

Anyway so yeah. Two weeks all alone going to the camp... on my birthday I guess I did wake up to "Happy Birthday to you" but other wise it was a normal day

Or at least at camp it was. Not a single person had any inkling that it was my birthday. ME! a veteran

So yeah I got home walked into the house... and what do I find but HEBE! And my Uncle Leonel and Tia Marielena and Afrodita!!!

I was like amazed that they cared enough to come from Queretaro early for my birthday And the decorations... EEE! It was all pirate-themed and amazing

With Pirates of the Caribbean balloons, too >w<

BUT I SET A NEW RECORD
No presents at all this year! Not a single God damned little thing *dances*

Usually my grandma gives me some little figurine, but this year she didn't. I'm so happy

Because I am tired of being a conceited brat *nodnodnod*
And I felt really bad when I graduated and my parents got me my new camera and the portable hard drive.

But I hate my mom-- I was already feeling guilty about all the stuff they bought for the party decorations. But then she comes along and she's like "You know how much the decorations and all costr us? About--"

At that point I like nearly broke out crying and basically told her to shut up >_>

But otherwise it was the most anyone's ever cared about my birthday in about seven years

Okay anyway yeah, a few notes I really want to brag about:

The Mexican flag was named "prettiest in the world"... no emoticon can express my pride, really

Hebe did end up calling her new dog William. See, in December when he was born I said "Name him Jack!"

But see, she likes Will Turner more than Jack Sparrow... so She said, "No! Orlando!"

And then I said, of course, "Will! Name him Will!"

I can't believe the name stuck

Hell. I've got like thirty watchers. I post a picture and no one but the ever-faithful Amanda seems to see it ( to you)

Okay, okay... Claire and Em comment on a lot of my photos too But Ama's comments are usually more insightful *nodnod*

But I'm just kind of pissed.

You'd think I'd get more feedback. Having so many watchers. Okay, fine, ten watchers are clubs. But that still leaves twenty.

And watch nobody give a damn about this journal, either...

Look at any other photographer's dA account and you'll see that they have loads of watchers who actually COMMENT and provide FEEDBACK and actually GIVE A GOD DAMN >_<

So are my photos really that bad? And here I was thinking I was improving. Ugh.

I think I'm leaving dA, folks. What's the point of this if I can't be part of the community?

I'll be in Mexico for a while, by the way. See if my mind clears up there. Though I doubt it... Hebe won't even be there. Some nephew of ours that she sees every few months is more important to her than the cousin she sees twice a year, apparently.

But has it ever happened to you-- You start writing a story or doing something of the sort. You want to have a set of events. But you're not sure if everything is going to work out logically (yet you don't really care and go ahead with it... but it's always gnawing at the back of your mind.)

And then something just comes along by a whim of fate and suddenly everything makes sense!!!!!!!!????????

WELLLLLL! I just figured out EVERYTHING for BattleScript!

See, I was never sure how Mariel might end up being Jenai's heir (*cough* spoiler much, for anyone who hasn't read the whole beginning? *cough*)

But it all makes absolute sense now! I guess I'd just never really understood the ideas and structure behind medieval knights...
