after a few downloads of some software updates I managed it to bring it to work.
first scans were disappointing but after checking out the best settings etc. the scans were getting better.
the legacy of a careless handling of my negatives in the past results in a lot of restoring work after digitalizing.
I'm restoring manually cause I don't trust any automatics to remove scratches and dust.
too much image details were lost using auto.

the biggest challenge is to browse through a bunch of negatives searching the worthy ones to scan.
its like a time machine: jumping through 30 years of photography means jumping through 30 years of my life. memories all over. events, friends, places...
also memories of hours and days spending in the wet darkroom processing film and making prints...

lots of work. guess it'll take a while...

not to plagiarize that style but for learning something new to refine my own 'style' by exploring a particular technique that may suit my artistic demands.
so I ask the artist: how did you do it?
sometimes the artist has an open mind and shares all I wanted to know.
sometimes the artist keep his techniques like a secret.
I'm wonder: why do those not share their techniques?
if someone asks me I always try to share all my knowledge, not fearing someone will copy it. and if he does... I don't mind.
copying should be part of a learning process and progress.
it's a way to develop and create something own.
isn't it? and if someone just reproduces my 'style' without trying to do his very own, it's just poor.
