I hope you're all well! I'm ok, I'm currently looking for a job again, which isn't fun, but it gives me a little extra time to illustrate, considering I'm unemployed again (by my own choosing, the job wasn't working out).

I've been absent for a while, I apologise, I really want to do some art but there's one problem. I'VE GOT A FULL TIME JOB! YAAAAAY! Ok, it's not my dream animation job, but money is money and I need it some way or another. So I'm an administrator/personal assistant at a marketing/sales company. I thought everyone there would be really strict considering they all wear business suits, but they're all young and funny, I have so much fun at work! But by the time I get home in the evening, I just want to sit on the couch, then prepare for the next day to do it all over again. Hahaha "Welcome to working life," I hear you all say.

Ok to more pressing matters. After calling for requests in my last journal, I received between 5 to 10 notes. I've decided to take on 's request, of her OC Pheonix. Yay, I'm excited Zabimahoo, can't wait to get started. Might take some time though.

At the moment, I've got a couple of freelance gigs I'm working on, things are starting to look good. So now I ask you this: Do you think I should start doing commissions? Like am I even good enough, would anyone actaully pay me for my work? But even if people do ask me for commissioned pieces, I wouldn't know how to go about it!

So anyway, I've decided to try and get into the animation business again. For the next couple of weeks I'll be working on a showreel.

Ok, I'm not sure if I mentioned this earlier, but my folio cost me about $240. The folio itself was a beautiful A3, landscape, black folio, which cost me $110. The plastic sleeves were $70 for 10. And the printing itself cost me $60. So of course I wanted it back after it was marked.

Apparently folio pick-up day was last week. Apparently there were signs up all over campus and on the University website. Apparently they throw out the uncollected folios after pick-up day.

I never knew when pick-up day was. I called the faculty of design today to find out if I could pick mine up. They said all uncollected folios were either thrown out to make room, or locked in a classroom, which can't be opened until the new semester starts, next year. And that's if I'm lucky. What gives them the right to throw out expensive shit like that!! They know folios aren't cheap!! Also, my contact details were on the last page, what stopped them from contacting me before they threw it out. I'm so pissed, get fucked Swinburne University, you heartless jerks! I want my money back, GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK! Obviously they can't, apparently it's my fault.

Sigh.

Anyway, in other news caught my kiriban. Congradulations!! She will be recieving an A4 CG of her choice. I'm also working on something at the moment. Should be done soon. After that I will be continuing the "Men of Final Fantasy" series. Yayz! It's good to be on holidays.

I hope you're all doing well!
I recently have been experiencing pain in my oesophagus when swallowing. It feels like a huge chicken bone is stuck in my chest, and everytime I swallow, both solids and liquids, I feel intense pain in my chest.

So naturally I got scared when it hadn't gone away after 3 days, so I went to the doctor, who said I've got *insert huge medical term* reflux. In a nutshell, my oesophagus is inflamed, due to reflux. This can happen due to stress, poor diet, not eating 3 meals a day, not eating at the correct times of the day, eating too much per meal, too much smoking and alcohol consumption, amongst other things. I can only put it down to not eating 3 meals a day at the correct times. Maybe even stress.

So yeh, basically I'm in a lot of pain. I never would've thought it was reflux, it doesnt burn or anything. It's moreso a sharp stab-like feeling in the centre of my chest. I can't even have a drink!

So I've been given medication, and I also have to stay off curries, citrus and alcohol, and eater smaller more frequent meals. At the moment I'm eating soups.

In other news, I was chosen to be 1 of 4 lead character designers out of 80 students, for a large scale project at Uni. I'm so happy and honoured!!!

ALSO!!!

I'm open to suggestions for what I should put in my Featured Deviation spot. 'Black & White 2' has been there for ages, but I'm not sure what I should replace him with. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry for my lack of update, and lack of "Overdrive" pages. Truth is, I've lost the passion.

I apologise to everyone I have let down.

I guess University drained my will to do anything else creative. I thought being on holiday would change that, but it's only gotten worse.

Over the passed 2 months, 3 friends of mine have passed away due to separate reasons. Reece, Rob and then Tanya. More recently, the relationship with my boyfriend has been crumbling. 2 more of my friends have been diagnosed with illnesses and will go in for various tests and operations. Life hasn't been very fair lately. It's just not fair. I wish there couldve been ways to save my friends, if only I could've done something. At least, I wish I couldve seen Reece and Rob before they departed. I hadnt seen either of them for a long time. And I wish I actually pushed Tanya to see a doctor. I only mentioned that she should, though I never really pushed her to do so.

I'm currently trying to patch things up with my boyfriend. Our breakdown couldn't have happened at a worse time.

There have been lots of tears, but not all has been bad. My University results for semester 1 were great and I came fourth in an anime comp and won some cash.

So, I can't promise anymore pages for "Overdrive." Don't get me wrong, I really want to work on it, but I guess I feel more satisfaction after finishing a one-shot piece of art. I go back to Uni tomorrow, so I guess art will be slow as usual.

I have decided to call off the Overdrive competition, purely because nobody seems interested, bar a couple.

Also, I won't be posting up any more work for a while. I've been doing contract illustration work for a design company in Melbourne, but I feel I am no where good enough to be apart of such projects. With the rest of the summer break I have, I'm going to practice heaps in the hopes that I get better.

Browsing DA made me realise just how much I need to improve. But I am determined to get better.

So, I apologise for a lack of image uploads. I will upload when I feel I have made an improvement.

I have some good news and some bad news :S

Good news is, I'm doing work for a Melbourne and Shanghai based design company, Nine Lanterns.

Bad news is, this is taking up a lot of my time and my school work seems to be slipping quite a bit. This includes mostly my Overdrive manga project.

Because of this fact, I really need to hurry and get at least 30 pages done by November 12th, to be printed. To me, this seems IMPOSSIBLE, and I have no choice but to rush my work. And I hate that thought! So, I will no longer be selling the book (trust me, it won't be worth your money).

However! I have decided to give a copy away to one talented artist. All you have to do, is create a fanart/fanfiction of Overdrive. Closing date is January 1st, I will keep posting the pages until my print dealine, so you'll have plentiful time to decide whether you would like to participate after you have read most of the book.

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm back at school for the semester. This means I won't be doing much art for fun because I want to knuckle down and give this last project my all. I'll be making a doujinshi for this project, so I may upload the first chapter whenever it gets down. I hope to have it printed into book form so who knows, I may try to sell it

This also means that all the artworks I promised people will have to be put on hold. I'm sorry, but I'm just too busy at the moment. At the top of my list of priorities at the moment is school work, and any donations I've promised.

Also, I will be donating art to my good friends at Mediaminer.org The proceeds will go towards the site and their art contests. These prints will be sold at Mediaminer's artists alley table, at the AnimeIowa convention on August 10-12. I won't be there but please do visit the table.

I have put one on order, but apparently it wont come in for like two weeks, which is a real bummer. But the eraser end of my pen still works, so I'm going to see if I can do anything decent with it.

Since the day I became a deviant, I'd always dreamed that one day my work will appear on the homepage under "today's favourites."

I know now that is almost impossible. Honestly, I think my work is good, but not great. I am proud of what I have accomplished over the passed two years because I can see the vast improvement, but I yearn to become better, but I just don't know how to.
