I've been busy illustrating this book for a friend:
The guy says: 'SPÍNNN!!!' The title translates to something like 'Salsa without a Fuss: How to become a popular Salsa Dancer'

It's about how to behave on salsa parties/lessons, and the psychology of your fellow dancers, with many funny interviews and a test. There's a whole chapter on Dirty Men ('Foute mannen' ) and How to Refuse somebody you really don't want to dance with. :noes: We've been commissioned to make the conventionbooklet for this year's Abunai convention (6-7 oct.) which has the great theme 'Film Noir'. I've been doing the storyboard part, which is obviously the most fun part of the proces. You get to be creative but can concentrate on the overall flow instead of details (not my greatest strenght) and I can be kindof messy and other people inkt it and make it look fantastic! check these before and after previews.

Decided to join the midnight queue at Waterstone's in Amsterdam with my mom, because I have nothing better to do on a Friday night. Yesterday I spotted a very handsome boy on the street. I saw him walking, very casual clothing, no bag, free as a bird.

In my room there are beer-smelling clothes and shoes, some empty bottles of rum and a half empty can of sweet corn. This sounds more gross than it actually is, and it is not the usual state of my room. :bucktooth: Crusade in Jeans. Plot:21st century- dutch teenager ends up in Medieval adventure because of timemachine. Based on one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE children-books, big time european budget film (it even had special effects!! OMG!) it was great! Mainly because of fantastic casting... I'm very relieved. I been waiting ten years for this, I cared more about this book-adaptation than all harry potters and lord of the rings combined, but they didn't let me down!
Negative points: the failed attempt to copy a Hans Zimmer-score, and the over the top- slow motion's.

:bucktooth: BLEACH! Tite Kubo is my hero. Don't really like the anime, but started re-reading one of the manga pockets i bought and now i'm hooked.
A month and lot of euro's later i'm now the proud owner of 8 pockets! He makes drawing manga look easy. Amazing action sequences? No problem. Diverse and effective storyboarding and page- composition? Piece of cake. Absolute and complete understanding of every type of human anatomy possible? That man can draw about ANYthing. I like almost all of his characters, really well written in my opinion. Art's a bit slow lately, mainly because I got RSI in my right wrist, and also because amsterdam is way to o nice in the summer ^__^

My current project is a new manga; a ghost story set in Venice, it will be posted here in less then a month.

What's new?
Well, after the succes of Blood-flavored Snow i was contacted by these doujinshi groups (amateur manga drawers) here in the Netherlands, and after some time i decided to join one of them: CHEESECAKE STUDIO!! It's a group of 11 young people, all of them more or less obsessed with Japan and japanese culture, and slightly mad in the head in a good way.

They were planning to publish their second and third pocket in September at the dutch manga/anime-convention called Abunai. I've removed a lot to the scrap section, and deleted some pieces  that i really disliked. You can always say that old work, how ugly or stupid it may be, is worth something becasue it shows your developement etc etc. But sometimes it doesn't show anything and has simply no place in my gallery.

About the manga contest: well i finished it!! But I can't show it here to you, until they've desided if i'm in the pocket to be published or not.  (= if i've won or not) And they don't seem to be in a hurry so... patience.

Yesterday i submitted a drawing. I worked really hard on it and was happy it was finally finished. My school is doing a project trying to collect as much money as possible for the jubilee next year, and tonight there was an art fair!! So i've just come back of selling prints for 3 hours non stop AND I'VE SOLD FOR  â‚¬ 130,50!!!  But 50% goes to the school so i only get half of it, but still.
