GOODISH NEWS:

So I've been watching this video blog on youtube. And it's like addicting. So addicting that I watched over 260 videos in four days. And then our internet abruptly died (which is to be expected) becasue I used it too much. Anyways it's a blog done by these two brothers, John and Hank Green, who, in 2007, decided that for a year they would only communicate via phone calls and video blogs. Awesome!

BAD NEWS:

My grandma, the one with Alzheimer's, on my mom's side, died just recently - on the third or fourth. Last time I saw her was Christmas.

So this person that I watch here on da posted this journal about this blog entry that they found. Here: [link] And this blog entry is by this person whose mother died a couple of years ago from Alzheimer's, but before she did, and when the disease was beginning to effect her mind, she started to go out into their garden and collect random things (like leaves, seed pods, twigs, rocks, and flower blossoms) and line them up and put them in little stacks and piles. So this person began to take pictures of the stuff that their mother was arranging and eventually she put it into a movie. You can find it here if you'd like to watch it: [link]

Also, we put Sutter down. He couldn't walk or stand anymore and he wasn't eating. He had some sort of cancer too. It's really weird going to the mailbox without him.

I also went to boarders today. Fun, fun, fun. So just about every time I enter Boarders I accumulate some form of mental disorder were I can't concentrate and I usually end up following close behind someone because I'm too delirious to navigate the store on my own.

So today my brother was wandering around the science fiction section and I, being the loon that I am, was slowly loosing brain cells due to the immense amounts of books calling my name so I aimlessly followed him. Then, as fate would have it, a book caught my eye.

The Companion Guide to J. R. R. Tolkien's Works?!?!? No way! And it just so happened to have a painting of a large cave with a blond man dressed in green and a red-headed dwarf on the cover. Hmmm, I wonder who those characters could be.

So of course I open it up and start reading.

Fascinating thing I found out #1:
Sam's second son (fourth child) was named after Merry. I so totally did not know that. But I DID know that one of Pippin's chilluns is named after Faramir. The fellowship had an issue with naming their children after other Fellowship-ers (actually only the hobbits seemed to contract this naming disease, but still).

Thranduil fought alongside his father in the Battle of something or other that starts with "D" and looks like the word "dragon". And in the end he watched his father die! The poor guy was probably mentally scared for the rest of his life. Which only confirms my theory of how Legolas was abused by Thranduil! *coughjackiecough* Then after the death of his father Thranduil took his seat on the throne of Mirkwood/Greenwood/Eryn Lasgalen, what ever you want to call it.

Fascinating thing I found out #3:
Aragorn isn't the only Aragorn!?!?! He's really Aragorn the II. There was another Aragorn before our chinfuzzed-viggo-orc-eater man! Actually it did seem like I had heard that somewhere before, so maybe I did already know that...

Anyway, I flipped through the book, which I was greatly considering buying (except I didn't have a red dime in my pocket) and put it gently back on the shelf when I thought my mom was about to leave. Well it turns out she wasn't going to leave, so I sauntered back over to my little LotR corner. Guess what I found when I got back? The Children of Hurin!!!! Heck yes! Score! So I picked it up and starter reading it. I really wish I had bought it. The first few pages were about how so-and-so married this guy's daughter and then their children married these other people and such-and-such (it was then that I was beginning to wish I had Jackie there because 99% of these people were new to me and I had no clue who they were). But all-in-all it was fascinating. Family trees are cool. I guess I'm a lot like Merry cuz he wrote a bunch of stuff on family something-or-other shire blah blah... and apparently he thought it was interesting so he wrote stuff about it and I find it interesting too.

Go eat a llama.

Speaking of family trees.... a week or two ago I went to a family reunion. It was at Lake Berryessa. It was a Berryessa family reunion. I'm a tenth generation Berryessa *does happy Berryessa dance*

So there was this woman there who wrote a HUGE book on our family's family tree. I was in the book. With my birthday and everything. I felt loved. Stuart and Jessica were in it too. Their birthdays weren't in it. They weren't loved.

And this woman is my paternal grandma's distant cousin. She spent three years of her live working on that book, finding all of the information and stuff. Holy smokes. I greatly admire her spunk.

So my uncle (he's not really my uncle, he's my dad's cousin, but I call him my uncle) was going through our section of the book and fixing all of the mistakes. And now the woman who wrote it has to go back and fix it all. And it's a REALLY thick book. I was around page 600-650ish, and that was only the first quarter of the way into it.

Wow. I just wrote you a novel. Yay for summer! Adios

Track = fun and pain at the same time, but probably more fun then pain...... and a bit of humiliation too.

So here's a bit of bad news that I've been forgetting to tell anyone, but what better place to tell you then here, where I first told y'all about our newly purchased sheep.

Soooo... the other day (actually it was like two weeks ago) I was out feeding Grabs while Jessica fed the sheep (like always, and they're now eating hay and grain, we weened them off the bottles like a month ago) and she's like "ANDREA!" in her high pitched something-bad-just-happened voice. So of course at that same time this random deer runs by and I only see it out of the corner of my eye so I thinks it's a creature from the village or somehting and I respond ("What!!?!!") in a freaked-out high-pitched voice that I totaly didn't mean to do. lol. Then I feel like an idiot... then she's like, "Two of the lambs are missing." Incase you didn't know that spells utter doom. So we go over to the pasture where the sheep are and sure enough there's only two (Tootsie and Mil). Great. Just GREAT! At this time it's sunset and it's getting hard to see... anyway I climb over the fence and start looking around because sheep go missing all the time because they find a particularly tasty spot of grass that they can't bear to part with. Usually we find them in the bottom pasture and as soon as they see us they go BAAAAA and run towards us and follow us back up the hill. Well that didn't happen this time.

So I'm looking around for the sheep by the garden and i don't have a flash light so I'm practicly blind. (For those of you who don't know there's a bunch of rocks around are garden.) So I'm looking and I only see all these gray blobs of rocks which look a lot like little sheep. I keep looking around all these rocks and get closer to the fince that separates our property from out neighbor's property and I see this rock that I've never noticed before.... so I step a bit closer and I'm like, "crap, it's a sheep"

So Jess and I go back to the house and our mom and dad get flashlights and come out and we show them where the one sheep was (it was either Wheezy or Farah, we couldn't tell). And she's all torn up and everything. We couldn't find the other one, but there where parts all over, so any of it could have been her. It was most likely the work of dogs because a mountain lion would have carried them off and they where probably too big for a bobcat.

So our property is a lot quieter on weekends cuz we only have two baaaing lambs now.

Sheep update: Currently only two have names, and we've had them all for almost a whole month. They're all so adorable, but they're getting heavy so it's hard to pick them up.

Tootsie, the oldest and largest of the bunch, is getting very big and kicks and squirms when you pick her up. My back always cracks when I lift her over the fence.

Weezy, the sickly one, is getting much better. Around thanksgiving she was close to death (not eating, couldn't walk, dull eyes, droopy ears, and having trouble breathing). Now she is getting much better because we've been feeding her special pnemonia meds for sheepys.

The other two don't have names, they're just 'blackface' and 'brown face', lol.

...sorry, I just felt like randomly screaming.

So I got THREE new expansion packs for The Sims 2!!!! Yeah! YEAH!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!! I borrowed two of them (Family Fun Stuff and Open for Business) from a friend at school AND went to Target today and bought Glamour Life!!!!! Life is sweeeet.... or at least it is for my sims.

I think my free subscription has expired. I think it was Halloween that it expired, but I'm not sure... I didn't use it much at all because I don't know very much about this site. What a waste of a free subscription.

Guess what we're getting tomorrow!!!!!! Sheep!!!!!! yesyesyeyseyseysyeysyeysdysyeysyrewaehbf SKd! I <3 sheep! It's been such a long time since we got rid of our other ones. I miss them sooooo much! Oh Dippy and Jazz and Ashley, my loves! I have to pick out names for the new ones! SWEEEETT!!!! I love picking out names... BUT OF COURSE I'M NOT ALLOWED TO NAME ALL FOUR OF THEM!!!! No no no no no no, god forbid I name them all even though I'm going to take care of them!!!!! GAH!!!! Oh well. I don't even know if I'd be able to come up with four good names. All I ask is that I get to name the boy. Last time my brother named an animal was a caterpillar and he named it Harry (then I cleverly twisted it into Harry Potter, lol) HOW UNIMAGINITIVE CAN YOU GET?!?!?!?!?!?!?! He'll probably name one of the lambs Kenna or Joel. Not that they're bad names but come on you HAVE to give your animals creative names that you would never dare name your child (Donald Trump, Big Mama, Pumpkin Pie)

Alright, funniest story about naming sheep ever (possibly): The first time we got lambs was quite a while ago. Of course we got three so each child could name one. All three of them where female. I named mine Dipstick (Dippy) because her face was white except for her nose and ears so she looked like she stuck her face in a can of paint. My sister named hers Jasmine (Jazz), after the jasmine bush in front of our grandmothers house (its times like those that I like to pretend that we're not really sisters). My brother, who was very very young at the time (we're talking like kindergarten) couldn't handle the immense brain pressure of naming a sheep. My sister and I tried to give him suggestions but of course no one listens to their older sisters. Finally my mom suggested naming it Freckles because it had a bunch of spots on its face. So... everyone who has ever been to a thanksgiving dinner with my family knows that all the little kids like to eat the pickles and olives and baby corns from the food platter before dinner (I still do!!!). Well... my brother (pickles, olives, and baby corns still on his mind) must have been hearing impaired (and probably still is) because he named his sheep Pickles. Yes. Pickles!!!!

A few weeks later Pickles died. No joke.

A couple years later we traded a friend one of our lambs for his lamb (to get some new blood in the line) and we named him Pickles (Yes, first a girl Pickles and then a boy Pickles). He later died (shotgun to the head) because he was too violent (got out of the fence and attacked our mentally handicapped neighbor). The moral of the story is to never name your animal Pickles; Firstly because they die, secondly because it's a dumb name.

After Pickles I died, but before we got Pickles II we go two more sheep, a male and a female. My poor brother, who at the time didn't have a sheep (but probably couldn't remember what a sheep was), got to name one of them. He decide to name the girl Ashley (also the name of my friend who he probably had a crush on) and someone ended up naming the male Buck.

Buck drowned in the water trough a few months later. He's buried in the pasture between two trees. Ashley's ear was chewed on by our Labrador retriever (Sutter) and it ended up being funky shaped for the rest of her life.

Oh boy.

Once they where old enough they had lambs (with a buck that we where pet-sitting for a friend. The same friend who later traded us for Pickles II) Jasmine had twins (I SAW THE BIRTH!!! WEEEEE!!!!) and my sister got to name them since their mother belonged to her. She named them Math and Science. Yeah. We're still not sisters. Both of the twins where black but had different white stars on their forehead, which was how we told them apart. One had a star that looked like a flask or beaker (Science) and the other had a star that looked like a plus sign (Math). Later on Math had two sets of twins and one single birth. Science only had two single births. The first one was black, like her, and the other one was PURE white. My sister was going to name the white one Snowflake or something like that, but the lamb was eaten by something before she could settle on a name.

Ironic. She probably would have named it Pickles.

Poop.

So when I came on here today it didn't take me to the main page, instead it took me to somehwere else with a big add in the middle of the screen. So I was like, "Ok, what ever. I'll just click on my user name." But I glanced at the add and it said that I had like randomly recieved a free subscription.

At first I was like, "Huuuh?" lol. But then I figured out what it was talking about and I was like, "Nononononono!"

I seriously have no idea what to do with a free subscription, plus I'm hecka new to DA so I don't know anything about anything!

What sort of things can I do with a subscription?

I wanted to like... transfer my subscription to one of my friends because they've spent MUCH longer on DA than I have, plus they'd probably know what to do with one.

Why did DA have to randomly choose me? I don't want it right now. So, until October 31 I have a subscription that isn't going to get much use.

Any ideas of what I should do with this thing?

Well this is quite interesting. I'm pretty much lost in this place, but don't worry, I'll have my feet firmly on the ground in no time.

Seeing as I don't quite have a scanner - or at least it's not hooked up yet - I can't very well show you any artness. You'll all have to wait and deal with the few and badly done pieces that I made on Paint

I have the sudden urge to draw my dinner plate. I best be off. *grabs sketchbook and pencil* I need to hurry before the image slips my mind. I also need to hurry and draw my horse, which I was planning on doing yesterday after spending and hour looking at his face and deciding how I you execute my plan, but was distracted by the black hole of entertainment ( a.k.a. my comp and TV).
