RYU-HIME [link] Long ago, the kingdom of Akinokaze intruded deep into forbidden territory and destroyed the balance in the dragon realms. In retaliation, dragons vowed to extinguish every human life on the planet. Seventeen years later, a young girl name Yune is born into a rural village with no knowledge of the past war. Through a fateful turn of events, Yune begins a journey to solve the mysteries surrounding the dragon knights.

So, I decided to go back to the place where i was going to school. To see how things were after a few months... and i ended up getting really sick. It was like one night I went to sleep and then woke up without a voice. Like I could scream and only a whisper would come out. Now I sound a bit better... but i still feel like a diesel engine or a 50 yr chain smoker. I also spent most of this visiting period sleeping, and not eating so i haven't seen half the people i wanted to. :/ This whole thing is ironic.

Well today we went back to the old high school.
I got to watch my teachers shit bricks when they saw me. he he heh how could they forget?
Next, time I show up i have to bring in some of my work. ^_^ That should be fun.
I'm getting really nostaglic being here again, i knew I would.

All i need is a good long trip with Alys. Back before I was Mishi, before any of us had nicknames we walked all over downtown. The old ass downtown with lots of little shops and my middle schools. I spent my life in graveyards. GRAVEYARDS. That was pretty much the only quiet place I could get away. That or a library full of books.

After that, I spent a lot of time with Kitsune. Of course I was being mostly retarded and full of fail, and running around asking for help with algebra. We lived in the art wing of the school, a part that was mostly detached from the rest. High school seemed the start of like close knit groups. Little shit becomes big huge ff'ing deals, and there's no escape to drama.

Now, my college life I can fully say has been a shitstorm of epic proportions. With even more shit that is a big deal. If there's any good to come of it... I'd say i've finished doing a lot of "first"s, and I can laugh at a lot of the crap that goes around me. i havent exactly produced as much as I thought I would. But I have embraced my inner nerd. Pretty strongly. Really strongly. Also, men are too much trouble and have killed the last bit of sanity i had. (I think this is why everyone hates me now. :/)

It kinda feels like i've fallen off the planet as of late, but guess what? I still live. :3

I'm officially back in Maryland so look me up sometime. Being back home is weird. There's a lot more of what i call "civilization". In PA its hard expecting anything more than dial up let alone a cell signal. I like being near a bunch of store and strips and people and well... just excitement. I forgot how much i missed it. But because i've been gone for so so so so so long it kinda feels like i don't know anyone. I have literally left all my internet friends and irl companions it's kinda bumming me out. I know it will take awhile to get back to my self again.

In the meantime, I'm getting a lot of art done. So i'll prolly be posting a lot at one time. No internets, so it looks like ill be at the mercy of buku's internet.

Register accounts at comic communities, comic forums, and art discussion sites.
Make friends with more experienced artists, get feedback on your work and find inspiration. Build yourself a support network. Run ideas and concepts by others.

Work within your genre. Find other communities that would be interested in your style of art (action, realism, anime, anthro.)

RESEARCH
Look at your favorite webcomics. What do they do that you like?
Why are the bad comics bad? IÂm not telling you to copy, just telling you to get insipired.

CONCEPT WORK

Now you really are anxious to get started. But donÂt just start posting pages yet.
Webcomics involve writing, art, editing, coloring/toneing, digital editing, scanning, etc.
ThatÂs a lot of different jobs for just one person.

Chances are you are only interested in one aspect. For example, if youÂre a good artist, but arenÂt the best writer you will have to spend extra time working on your literary skills. All aspects of the work are important, donÂt get lazy.

Spend a lot of time planning.

LITERARY

Characters Â Write a few biographies on your characters. WhatÂs their backstory? How do they act and explain their behavior.

Scripts Â Type a rough draft of your story. Play with organization and ideas you may have. Scripts should explain the scene of the story visually and include the dialogue of the characters. Explain everything, so that even a stranger can visually see whatÂs going on. Think of yourself as a director and your comic is a movie. How does each scene look, and what angle is being presented? How many panels will you have?

VISUALLY

Layout Â Work out how each page will look with panels. Are you going with sequential boxes or something a little more creativeÂ? Use different shapes, lines, arrangements, and overlap. How do you want the readerÂs eye to travel through the page? WhatÂs the most important scene of the page? How will you emphasize it?

Characters ÂDraw different views many angles. Draw their facial expressions and any items they might have. How tall are they? What color?

Locations Â A lot of comics online leave out backgrounds all together. But they can give a lot of visual clues and set the tone of a story. Draw the scenary and interior scenes.
Look for references online of castles, buildings etc. DonÂt go with the typical house that you think of. Make every scene unique with itÂs own feel.

Other Â Make rough sketches of vehicles, relics, weapons, and important items.

FEEDBACK
Show your rough ideas to people you trust. Post them on forums or the communities you joined in the beginning. If thereÂs a more experience artist you admire, ask them to take a look at your work. Be open to criticism. You want to fix everything wrong now before you start drawing. Listen to what people say, you canÂt please everyone but if you hear something over and over again itÂs a good indication on what you should change.
Then make the necessary revisions.

You have fully planned out what your going to do, so nowÂs the time to do it.
However, thereÂs a few things left to consider.

1.Hosting
Your very own website. Again, use the comic related communities that offer free hosting. (drunkduck, smackjeeves etc.) You can post your comic on several sites to get the most exposure.

2. A website design
There are a lot of great tutorials to make your webpage pretty.
Give it the same style as your comic. Each hostÂs comic system is a little different, but they usually have templates to work off on. Just make it visually interesting and fast loading. Avoid graphics or music that would be a distraction.

3. Supplies
Time to go to your local craft store. If your planning on working traditionally, youÂll ne...

i have returned

So I was at sephy's for 2 days.There was orgasmic food :3 and i didn't know a single person. but it was okay because they were all nerds, mostly nerdy boys.

For some reason the funnest activity was a giant nerd gun fight. i pretended I was the dude from Cloverfield and sought to document it. Pretty rad. XD i got some great vids. Need to upload those later.

So it was night...Seph informed me that i needed a bathing suit 0_0 which i didn't know about... So I had to borrow hers D: Me + bathing suit + a bunch of guys (that i don't know) = intense fear

So in the dark and we all scrambled in glowing red hot tub. The sky was clear, you could see all the stars. Then we reverted back to high school and played "Never have I ever"

I didn't win at all. The guy who won just didn't do anything. he never even had a relationship by the looks of it. Seph said he reminded her of meepy.
I caught him staring at me a few times. :/

To add to the fun... I kept randomly falling asleep. Sephs couch was more comfy than my bed XD
Actually, her whole house is like a work of art.
She has fancy sinks and floors. The place is huge. The yard is huge. Nothing but flat green grass......and theres a wheat field next door. It's like a perfect country postcard. She said there were berries over the hill... but i didn't feel like taking a walk in the intense heat.

By the second day, we all knew each other enough to have drama. but i wont go into that. All and all it was a good timeeeee.

Now that i'm home, i'm vegging out.
i'm tired *yawn* just been online watching forums.

I'm also really sad today. One of my good friends is sick. Who knows what happened. We just talked too. It's so random I am filled with BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Home that was never home.

My roommates are leaving. Our house was a living collage of black and white. Now all the pictures are gone and its bare white...like an asylum. -_- Of course I was only in one picture, because i'm entirely too anti social. If I spend 3 days of continuous time with you, it really bugs me. Really badly. I'm not entirely sure why that is.

My room though is a tiny dark oasis. The first thing I did when I moved here, so far from from home was fill the walls with color. My tapestry and posters...wall scrolls...and anime. My latest edition is the Joker. He is above my headboard reminding me not to so serious all the time. A reminder i need.

Soon I'll be leaving this place. It hit me today. In 3 months I will have no where to live or go. With no security or certainty towards anything. just me, the world and a degree. I suppose this will be the true test of an artist. I wonder if my skills can save me. I have no idea what i'm doing.

I'd like to take a bus to anywhere. But if i did that i'd prolly end up on the other side of the country in the middle of nowhere and that's just crazy. I can think of a lot of places I'd like to be............
but it's kinda a long journey to go by myself.

I'm feeling affectionate and can't sleep so i'm idly wasting time until tomorrow... where I get to see Sephy and hopefully everything will play out normally. I won't know anyone at this party and I am usually invisble, but for some reason around the right people i pick up a little charisma.
It comes from being HarleyQuinn I'm sure.

So LFN Buddies have formed the The Awesome Sprite Club, which translates to TASC. That is the very first club I joined on drunkduck...when people started to know me. And I first started my comic. It's all a lot of fun. I've made a few vids...

Anyhoo! I made it dark and evil how he likes it. I used A giant pile of rust for my inspiration. I didnt want to do just all black and red....y'know. Rust and deep leather. I'll prolly add more to this later.

So I spent all yesterday pretty much in hell, and today I'm trying to make up for all my mistakes. I went to the mall for a bit enjoyed a Mexican fiesta salad and chocolate peanut butter frozen custard. Now if only I can get my billboard design done. Believe it or not 4chan /ic/ is helping me out more than anyone. It's kinda sad that I have to turn there. But i'm hoping at least that there are designers that guide me in a better direction.

I haven't decided on a cover for Ryu-hime yet. The test was pretty much a success, but now i'm debating on featuring several of the characters, namely Yune, Yuu, and Mere. I redrew the old image with better anatomy and I have some great sketches. I'll probably post them here. Hopefully, I'll figure out both my design dilemmas. It's starting to get to me.

A preview of ch2

I decided to write out some of my comic book as if it were a novel.

This takes place somewhere in chapter two. It involoves Akiashi (AH-Key-AH-She) and Sasuka (saaaa-sk-ah). The new characters. Akiashi's thoughts later becomes her image poem. and no they are not lesibans. the story of how they met is quite interesting. but this is later when akiashi is 15 and sasuka is 18/19

Sasuka was looking in the direction of her destination. She had a habit of standing around and thinking. She daydreamed all the time about nothing and she was always tired. The guards however, had grown used to it, and took no notice. They, in fact, were talking and laughing gearing up and talking quietly.
Akiashi moved her hand across the curtain in a graceful motion. She was dressed in elaborate lace and gold, but it never fit her personality. She peered out the window, looking at the silhouettes from a distance. Sasukas thinking was contagious. Akiashi
often dreamt, of the freedom she could not have. She thought of ones under her and the land, raped of freedom. Even as a queen she had nothing. The best she could do was send Sasuka far away from the Wind village, even if it was only for a day. At least she would see the world. The thought of freedom consumed her, and her wish for Sasuka became an obsession. She had given up on happiness for herself, but her wish was just too strong to die entirely.
Sasuka was her object of affection from afar. She never told her how she felt; her words could only be heard in her thoughts.
I know you long of the world you knew before. You dream from behind a gilded cage. You are a slave. And I, your master, but nevertheless, be my hand.
Go where I cannot. Let your service; lead you closer to the world. Sip Freedom
softly from a small china glass. So, fulfill my wishes. Do my bidding. With chains
bearing my name; I will bring you to freedom.
Sasuka? The lady guard finished lacing her leather boots. The giggling amongst the other girls had subsided. Sasuka turned, her ebony hair was striking against the sunset. In silence, they left camp off to the assigned mission their squadron leader, Sasuka in front. Akiashi closed the curtain, waiting for the sky to turn black.
