So...

last night, this film editor/director came to my house and showed me some of his stuff and we got to talking about a fun little project that we can do. He's got this idea for a story involving a boy and a monster (and it's DEFINITELY not the typical story at all) and we're tossing ideas back and forth and I have to come up with a few designs for this monster that may have once been human. Pretty cool stuff actually, and I am getting excited doing stuff with this dude because he's definitely the type who knows what he wants! Hopefully we will have something down the line and hopefully I can work with him on some other projects because being a professional storyboard artist is definitely my career goal at the moment.

I've also become a contributor to the website [link]

It's a fun site that reaches out to the geeks. It's definitely worth checking out and as soon as their sister sites are up, it will definitely be a heavy media site. Check it out and I should have an article up within the next couple of weeks, once I am done running through episodes of Batman: The Animated Series.

My career life is turning around, hopefully.

My love life, on the other hand... still in the dumps -___-

EDIT~

OH MY GOD... I just found a guy on Craig's List selling series I, II, and III Marvel Cards as well as some other crap for 50 bucks!!! DUDE! I was so broke and poor as a kid, I only had a handful of them. Now, I have the chance to get the entire base set (not the extra fancy stuff, but just the base collection) which is awesome! Oh man...

The little things make me really happy or at least manages to put a smile on my face. Today, on the show Flash Forward, they played the song "To Sheila" by the Smashing Pumpkins. As soon as I heard the familiar guitar strumming, I yelled "PUMPKINS!!!" to which my little brother gave me a funny look and asked "You're going to tweet about this, aren't you?". I did. TWO Tweets! I mean come on, the Pumpkins on TV!

But yeah, I'm not the kind of person that wants all the new toys and all the fancy clothes. I'm actually pretty fine rocking the same clothes for the past few years, despite my weight loss making them baggier and saggier.

I appreciate the hell out of the little things that make me smile, whether it's a song on a TV show or realizing it's Autumn by the first patch of orange leaves out my window. I can't find a lady out there that's the same as me who enjoys taking it easy and just staring out the window. Who likes to just sit in the subway cars listening and sharing headphones with nowhere to go. Who likes the fucking rooftops in Forest Hills! Who just likes walking around Manhattan looking at all the silly stuff in the window display. I can't find a laid back girl like that at all... and it's driving me crazy!

(haha... just deleted two paragraphs here of absolute nothingness)

I'm adjusting to being single but I don't know why I don't even have friends like that; someone I can just sit there and do nothing with. I love going to the park at Union Square and just sitting there... but I hate doing it by myself. As much as I'd like to be the teacher equivalent of House, I'm still a person that can't be happy unless I'm sharing it (hence the Tweet of the Pumpkins on TV, IT WAS GREAT!). And if I can't share the little things that make me happy, then I can't really be happy at all.

Kinda sucks.

Yeah, I know I shouldn't rely on others to be happy with and what makes me happy should be my own thing, but NO. That's not how I roll, I like the idea of a partner in crime at all time. It's easier that way.

Heroes, season 4, has started off pretty rocky. Between getting owned by everything else on at that time slot and not starting off all that wonderfully plot wise, it might fall flat on its face. However, there are a few things that I did like that gives me hope for this season!

First, RAY PARK! Snake Eyes, Darth Maul, Toad, and now this knife wielding speedster; Ray Park being on Heroes was inevitable because he's deeply embedded in geekdom and it was only a matter of time before he dropped himself in the middle of Heroes. His martial arts are going to be terribly slow because I don't think any other cast member can keep up, but just seeing him was awesome.

Second, A TEAM OF BAD GUYS! I've been looking forward to this for a while now! The Heroes have always out numbered their foes, even when it was Mr. Petrelli running Pinehurst. Sure, he had his powered goons but it was ridiculously over powered. Now, there is a team collecting others with abilities and hopefully there will be a clash. Not only that, but they have some bad ass powers to boot! The ink guy in particular is awesome.

Third, PETER IS A SUPERHERO! Finally, god dammit, finally! Okay, so his power is to sponge, but whatever he does sponge, he's using it pretty damn decently to save lives. I don't like the news clippings, it makes him seem too full of himself (I would be too) but he's a step towards that saving lives deal instead of just powered people fighting each other and the government.

Fourth, NOAH IS SINGLE! The chapter is called Redemption and this should be Noah's chapter. He's lost everything he has valued, everything he was trying to protect. Sure, he still has his daughter, but even Claire's been distant since the second season. Now, he has to redeem himself. Noah's character has been my favorite, second to only Nathan, and now I think it's his time to shine.

Now that the good's out of the way, let's take a look at what is pissing me off.

First, Nathan/Sylar, WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP! Nathan's dead. It's Sylar that's in there. We know, we get it, but Sylar in Matt's head is fairly retarded. He wiped Sylar, not absorbed him. Sure, it could be guilt, but this is Heroes, and nothing is that simple. As for Nathan, my favorite character is dead... now he's just a phony. Even if they make a Jekyl/Hyde type character, I don't think they will pull it off too well because Sylar doesn't have Nathan's personalities, just his memories. So even if you were in the same situation as someone else, your personality will dictate your actions so therefore, Nathan is all but gone -__-

Second, Claire's new friend, could it be anymore obvious that she has the same ability as Sylar does? "I just get things"... come on! This whole partnership with other powered people is lame. I really liked the first season where her friend who filmed her (the dude that played John Conner) was her ally. He was human, there needs to be more human/powered relationships!

Third, Hiro and Ando, WHATEVER THEY DO! Hiro and Ando are the comedic duo of the show, and not in a fun way either. Hiro is supposed to be the HERO! I don't care how often Peter is portrayed as the main protagonist, it's Hiro, HIRO, HIRO!!! Hiro is the destined savior of the world, but they give him such crappy roles. Ando needs to die already, affect Hiro, and make him all emo and lethal. I like Ando (a fellow Bronx Science Alumni), but he often shadows Hiro and that's a big no-no when the little guy is the titular character... sort of.

Fourth, Denko IS DEAD! No!!! That was one bad mother lover! He was human and he was maiming and killing the powered left and right. Sure, without funding, he's just a nutjob... just like before, but he was so bad assed! Why did they have to kill him? He was the guy that you loved to hate because he was that good! Now he's dead He needs to be revived somehow or at least replaced by an equally ass hole like character.

Fifth, the Ink Guy. I like him but he is manipulative and has his own cause... a bit too much like Magneto and every other villain out there. Sure, we don't know that he's just plain crazy or not just yet, but Sylar was awesome because he was ape shit insane! Killed his own mom and went oops. Cut open Claire's head!!! Even momentarily killed Peter. Because he's FUCKING CRAZY AND JUST WANTS TO DO HIS OWN SHIT AND SURVIVE. Now we have this dude with a cause... Denko had a cause, and he was still terrific. This dude, I don't think will be that great of a villain.

My reasons all suck, good and bad, but hey... just ranting about a show I really enjoyed during the first season and keep hoping it gets better only to be disappointed later -__-

Heroes needs to borrow from comics the good stuff, the meat and potatoes, and put the...

I just got up from watching Cloverfield with my folks and little brother. I liked it in the theater, but I liked it even more this time around because I wasn't concentrating on trying to figure out just what the damn monster looks like. Since my brother watched it as well, we decided to just kinda talk through the movie, making comments about this and that.

One thing I noticed while watching Cloverfield was how eerily similar this was to the old Power Ranger episodes I used to watch back in the third grade. If I remember correctly, back in the days of old, the Power Rangers would face the monster (after it grew in size) in the middle of cities, and often, buildings would come crashing down. I mean, these buildings would crash, burn, tumble down. The monster would fall on power lines, fall to the streets, which I can only assume hasn't been fully evacuated yet.

So watching the movie, I think this is the sheer terror that the civillians must feel in the Power Rangers' universe, before the heroes come in with their giant robot dinosaurs! And even after they come, the battle that ensues... it's got to create more damage! These are monsters and robots that are taller than most of the buildings in their surroundings, it's not very likely that they will be able to avoid damage. I mean, sure, New York is pretty populated, but so is Califoronia and I am pretty sure Angel Grove (yes, I remember the name of the place where the fuckin' show took place, fuck you) was pretty damn populated too. Now, also take this into consideration, most of the kids in the school looked like pretty rich spoiled kids, so I can assume for every 2 to 3 kids, there was 1 car, then you have the teacher's cars, as well as the other residents of the area. Even if the city isn't that populated, those teens just got their lisences and I'll be damned if they don't crash into each other during times of panic. I mean come on, would you rather stay indoors where the monster can fall and topple the school right above you?

And let's not forget the final cause of damage during this; when the Rangers kill the monster, it goes down in a giant explosion. That's a pretty big explosion.

Cloverfield was very similar to that, except... the military was a lot more responsible when it came to dealing with the civilians. They had evacuation orders, they had choppers to fly people to safety. They also did a really good job at holding off on carpetting bombing the monster until there was no other choice. But there was still tremendous destruction caused, both by the monster AND the military. The whole *telling a story through the eyes of the people experiencing it* was pretty much what the people during the Power Rangers' battles have to go through. I'm sure they too have loved ones that they fear for and I am sure they too would travel across town to make sure they are okay.

Maybe I just think too much.

A couple of weeks ago, my X61 Tablet had to be factory reset because it caught a pretty nasty virus. Now, this is a pretty damn good piece of hardware and I don't plan on seeing it get fucked up like that again... so what I am going to do is buy another, cheaper laptop for gaming, downloads, music, and all that other crap. I am actually buying another Lenovo computer, an SL series though, which is going to cost less than half of the X61, but will perform almost as well (minus the awesome tablet capabilities). It's also going to have more than twice as much HD space, so I guess I can keep all my Smashing Pumpkins stuff in there!

Speaking of the Pumpkins, I bought a book from 2002, Ultimate Spider-Man HC Vol 2. a few days ago, and I am not a big Ultimate fan, but something made me smile. The character of Gwen Stacy in the book is seen wearing a, get this, Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt! It's pretty freaking awesome, esecpailly given that around that time, the Pumpkins were long gone... I don't know, I found it pretty sweet.

If you like The Smashing Pumpkins, or watched movies from the late 90's, you should know about the song "The End is the Beginning is the End", the theme to the god awful movie "Batman and Robin". The counterpart of that song; "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning" has rerisen from the ashes of the old and is being used for the kick ass trailers of "The Watchmen". Now, I always thought that song had tons of potential, and felt it was a much more powerful song due its slower feel and a darker, longer bridge. I even wanted to use that song to make an animation when I was just starting High School. Though I have given up on animation, I am pushing out DP Infinity like a mother... and I am going to make sort of a music comic, where instead of a music video, there are going to be scenes drawn in while the lyrics are posted on each panel. I have had this scene in my head for a long time, but it was a toss up between this song and "Battersea" by Hooverphonic. After watching "The Watchmen" trailer for the 17th time (yes I have been keeping count), I think this one is a much better choice. The "Music Comic" is going to have scenes from the final chapter of the comic, from one of the final moments of the comic, but it's okay... I don't think readers of the comic will have any idea as to what's going on and will be able to put the pieces together much later when those things are introduced. So yeah, keep an eye out for that... and listen to that song, it's very good.

[link]

I know I have been updating my comic here, but it's mainly for gallery purposes. On the link above is like the "official" comic site, and I hope you guys visit it! I need the page views and fandom, I am trying really hard to pump out as many pages as I can and I just want this thing to be successful. I mean I have more pages done than I did 2 years ago... so that's a good sign.

Also, my kids are taking their Sci Hi test this weekend. The best of luck to them, I hope they all get what they want and earn what they worked for.

Shit happens and now I want pink stuff. I got myself a Pink Xbox controller, on which I am drawing flowers and vines on. I want light pink sneakers. And I want this particular Hello Kitty messenger which I think I can only purchase online. I'm not gay, but being a little strange makes the pain a little bearable. Love and happiness and all that junk is over rated, we're all ending up in the dirt covered grave in the end, unless of course you'd want to be incinerated into an urn, which is cool as well.

Hey guys, I am dissapearing from Dec 17 until Jan 17, so have a very merry Christmas, a wonderful New Year, a happy Eid, and whatever else I missed on this list.

Hopefully I can stop playing with Sara's new rabbit (if I buy it for her) and get off my ass to draw somethings while I am there.

Ciao and Kisses
