One of the new assignments for this term involves creating a 4-page magazine on a topic of our choice. I chose cosplay, because it's something I'm passionate about (and could probably write more than 4 pages on) XP

I already have most of the articles and pages sorted out, but wanted to get your ideas for a few sections. And help naming the actual thing x_x

All I would like you to do is answer these few questions (if you can):

• If you were going to name a magazine about cosplay in Western Australia, what would you call it?

• What websites, as a cosplayer, can't you live without? (I've already got the obvious like eBay, cosplay.com, CURE... it can be anything from forums, to online shops, info sites... whatever!)

• Is there an anime series/game/manga as yet unreleased in Australia you'd like to promote specifically for the outfits? (eg. Poison Pink, Heart no Kuni no Alice)

• FAQ! Anything you could think of that would be a FAQ about cosplay?

• Any international cons you would recommend? I don't know how many of you/if any at all have been to international cons, but, if you have would you recommend any of them are worth the trip?

• And for one/a few of you out there who have some time on your hands, I'd love to put in a profile about an AUS cosplayer. It would only be short; a few questions long, but please reply if you don't mind being interviewed ^_^

• Anything else at all!! What would you like to see in a local magazine on cosplay? :3

...I'm trying to make this thing as realistic as possible, and seeing as the majority of you ARE Australian cosplay I thought this would be the best place to go <33

Hrmm, I suppose I should write something in here about Manifest... or any of the cons from this year, seeing as it's all over now XD; But, really, this year was all about the people for me. So instead of summarising anything important this is just going to be a huuuuge shout out.

Despite all the dramas with wigs not turning up, Keyblade commissions gone bad and a jacket that just did not want to be made, Roxas appeared at Perth Supanova as planned!

I didn't cosplay on the Saturday, but it was a lot of fun just catching up with everyone! And being a bag holder, and QUINTON FLYNN AND JEFF NIMOY!!! "Got it memorised?" *melts* So... not much happenings the first day, but still lots of flailing and fangasms.

Sunday = EPIC WIN AND LULZ AND AWESOME! Roxas appears! Started to realise how the day would turn out, when as soon as I got in the door I had about 10 people around us asking for photos XD My keyblade spikes kept snapping off at the start of the day, which was fail, but we fixed it quickly... AND THEN MY AXEL SHOWED UP o___________o

I have no words to describe the amount of smex that was that woman man. Who gave me a scarf ^//////^ <333

Went to go see Q&A with Q&J again on the Sunday, and it was so funny ;P Even better than the Saturday! Pretty much as soon as that finished we had cosplay comp. So exciting! The skit was so much fun to do, and you can watch it here: [link]

...we were 3rd group on, so had a lot of time to wait after. No seats left and we were sprawled all over the floor. I was lying on Larxene, who was resting on Marluxia... and it was so comfy I fell asleep :3 Apparently the whole audience tried to wake me up, without success XD I was eventually woken up to find aaaall the cosplayers on stage, sort of, looking at me funny ._____. *so embarassing*

After cosplay we were all "need fooooood" so we sat and OM NOM NOM'd for a while. I didn't need to buy food, because the fangirls fed me (no joke). I got so many free chips >:3 AND I WANT TO KNOW WHO THAT CUTE BLUE GIRL WAS! Her name was Ebony, and that's all I found out. But she adopted me for the day XD

Once we were all fed, went to watch Karaoke... omfg. The singers were AMAZING!!!! Everyone was just sitting there in awe of these people. Gots AkuRoku photos after that finished *swoons* And oh yeah... Roxas got to top once.

I think everyone was just really exhausted at the end, but we went and had dinner at Fast Eddys again anyway. Dejavu much ._. It was like Wai-con all over again XD And more AkuRoku... Nyaah~ I really want an officially photoshoot some time *grabby hands at K*

So... all up: SUPANOVA WAS AWESOME!!!

I don't have any pictures yet, but will definitely post some when I find them.

PS: WHO WAS THAT LINK COSPLAYER!? We must find her .___.

Not much to update here at the moment, I just felt like a change to the CSS was needed XD; And I have been drawing a lot more recently.

After years of putting it off I've been motivated into doing the 100 Themes pic challenge, which will be fun >D And HOPEFULLY help to improve my drawing/colouring skills quite a bit. I'm still lacking in the tablet department; the cheap one was a dud with my iMac, and so this will teach me new ways of colouring things?

Traditional media!? No wai 8'D *faints* I prefer digital tenfold, but there's not much I can do about that at the moment....without resorting to vectors. HMM >_<

COSPLAY


Hit a standstill as far as cosplay goes. Rest assured, Roxas WILL appear at Supanova...along with an exhausted, run-down cosplayer wearing the d*mn thing. BUT on the good side of things, it's highly possible that I'll have Roxas' Kleyblade to go along with it!

The reason for my standstill at the moment is simply workload. TAFE + work + cosplay + anime + friends + drawing + writing = ...dead. Things are starting to look up slightly, but I'm still predicting it won't die down enough for the stress to leave for a while ^_^;

So I've had to cancel Larsa ;______; But he WILL make an appearance by the start of next year at the latest.

If I start thinking about the number of cosplays I have for Manifest...*shudderspasm*

Change of plans for Supanova cosplay

Okay, well, I'm still going to attempt to get Larsa done by Supanova, BUT I want to have a back up if it doesn't make it. So! I'm making my Roxas everyday-clothes this weekend ^_^ Should only take me a weekend or two, and that way I have my back up finished.

If I don't get Larsa finished, I'll wear it to GO3 instead.

For those of you who don't read my Livejournal, I have huge news 8D

In approximately 9 months, I will be living in Melbourne. Without parents. And with a car.

I'll be staying with some extended relatives of mine (they've kindly given up 2 spare rooms for me) but pretty much have total independence. Total. Independence. And staying with relatives will only be a temporary thing, two years at the most, because once I've finished TAFE I should have enough money to rent my own place.

I (finally) HAVE A TABLET! In cosplay news, I bought all of the fabric to start Larsa today, so I don't have any more excuses to put off making this insane costume D8 Really...what was I thinking? And I now have bands on my teeth, so I'm going to have to learn to smile without opening my mouth for photos ._. Also a whole bunch of good job opportunities have suddenly sprung up, meaning that all of these costumes are still possible!!! *huge sigh of relief*

The Friday night was a lot of fun because we got to do Death Note cosplay, and I met a Naruto cosplayer that I will probably spend my day trying to find. I talked to her a lot, and never asked her name ^_^; But anyway, we got some awesome photos on the Friday night and had lots of fun.
Saturday was changed after some things happened, and we didn't end up getting our Shaman King group. Instead of that we had two smaller groups of Shaman King and KH. I was so incredibly shocked when only one kid (you were awesome mini curse-Sasuke!) recognized and squee'd over Kingdom Hearts. It can't die on us T__T Also got some amazing Kairi photos, soon to be posted.
The Sunday was the best! We had our huge FF8 group all together, and it was so much fun! Minus the fact that it was FREEZING cold and some of us were wearing minimal clothing XD; We entered into the cosplay comp on the Sunday and won best group!!! It was my first time in a skit, and we only wrote it the night before, but so much awesome fun just to be on stage. You can see the skit here: [link]

The convention was good, but the best part about Melbourne was seeing everyone again, and meeting so many new people! I miss you all so much T_________T Can't wait for Manifest!
