The preview copy I bought was very nice, although the paper is a bit thin.  They explained that their printer is choking on the thicker glossy paper right now, but once they iron that out I will switch my comic over to that.  But in the meantime, thinner paper = cheaper comic!  And there's a color cover and afterword.

There is a five-episode set coming from telltale games under the label Tales of Monkey Island.

And LucasArts has re-released the original Secret of Monkey Island with all new HD graphics via Direct2Drive online download at around $10.

I'm thinking I just need to give in and start reading more Neil Gaiman.  I love the occasional comic and movie of his that I've run into, and he certainly likes all of MY favorite authors (he's always the "It's a wonderful book" quote selected for the dust jacket).  I am just old and crotchety and I have trouble accepting new authors into my library.  Most of the time I finish a new book (or more usually, throw it out halfway through) and think, I coulda just read Dogsbody again and not wasted all that time on mediocrity.

I am staring angrily at my Cintiq and then at the Wacom site where the Cintiq is their only product demanding a 16% restocking fee.  For a reason.  I will be sending the damn thing back tomorrow.  The only people on the planet who could ever use this P.O.S. are people sitting at a desk with a desktop, lots of excess space, and NO OTHER MONITORS.  You can not move it.  It has 5 gigantic heavy cables and a sizable base station.  Portable, my ass.

Both of my birthday presents for my significant other (a cooking class and concert tickets) ended up getting cancelled yesterday.  We were rejected for the absolute last apartment we have looked at (after a year of looking).  My commute home was over an hour because of Dubya's visit to the area.  And those were just the big things.

I know no one ever sees this page, but if you do and you'd like an over-used 4X5 Wacom Graphire1 tablet (the cheap one), I upgraded recently to the equivalent Intuos3 and I need to get rid of my old piece of crap.  I know, I am such an excellent salesperson. :P  It will cost $$ to ship, so you should probably be in US/Canada and have something you can give/trade me in exchange for shipping costs.  But I am flexible.

Side note: it doesn't work very well on OSX, especially with larger monitors, cause its resolution is pretty poor.  Just so ya know. ]]>
