I had a fairly succesfull, painful (not physicaly), and depressing trip to the junkyard today. My fiancee and I were out in hopes of finding a Z26 bumper cover and maybe a set of fog lights and some other misclaneous items for the Beretta. Well, first thing we see when we walk in is a white Corsica, so I decide to go check it out for parts. Out of nowhere my fiancee says"Hey that car right there looks familir". Right behind the Corsica is a red '84 T/A. Damn that does look familiar. Has an FM99 bumper sticker, the front driver quarter is bent in at the door hinge, the seats are all ratty. It was my best friends '84 T/A his mother and grandma got him a few years ago back in high school [link] . I knew he had recently gotten rid of it but I never asked him who he gave it to. I dunno if he sold it to someone who turned around and sold it to the junkyard or if he did it himself. I don't know but that car meant allot to me even thogh it wasn't mine and it only really worked for the duration of highschool. We left it ad searched for some more Corsicas and Berettas. I managed to nab one good fog light, a gas door hinge, and a never used spare tire out of an old GTZ Beretta. We headed back to the old T/A and decided to pull off anything that would have any meaning left on the car. We got the horn button with the firebird symbol and the center of the rear tail light lense with Pontiac and the Firebird symbol on it and we got lucky and found a set of keys in the trunk. The rest of the damn scrapheap heathens had already picked it apart. We paid for our loot and got everythign packed back into the car. I felt like crap and still do. There were so many memories made with that car back in high school, back when it was me and the Caddy and my friend and his T/A. We'd race each other up to the speed limit cause we were to scared of getting caught speeding (of course I always won), we'd go out late and go to Mcdonalds [link] when one of our cars was down we'd pick each other up in the mornings and head for school. He somehow managed to get more flat tires than you can count on your two hands. I remeber when we changed his brake pads and I had to stand there and tell him what to do though I myslef had very little experience at the time. I even changed one of his valve cover gaskets but couldn't do the other because there were so much crap in the way.

It just seems like a solid mark of the end of an era. Time to move on.

Here's some various links to more picks of the old T/A in my gallery:

Well, guess what? I bought myself a car! Not quite what I was going for its what I could get for the money I had. It's a red 1995 Chevy Beretta Z26 with 108k miles. Has a 3.1 v6 (not a supercharged 3.8 but you never know what will happen!) 4 speed auto, 16 in rims, Pinoneer cd player with Sony speakers all around, and 2 amps mounted on the back of the fold down rear seats with two 8 in subs in the trunk,
and a brand spankin' new carpet. Runs good, rides good, 'bout as much power as you would expect from the smaller 3.1 V6, interiors in good shape with usual wear and tear minus the brand spankin new carpet. Outside is good except the two front fenders need a little messaging due to careless garbage men and kids and such and the front bumper needs replacing but thats no biggie. Oh and it has working AC which is a big improvement over the 4-80 AC system ( for those of you who know what I'm talking about) I was running in the Olds. Ran me about $2300. Not too shabby but thats what I could afford. They wanted $6000 for the exact same car at the dealer and I said hell no to that. I get to pick it up tomorrow after work and I'm putting the Olds up for sale out in front of the shop. I really hate to see it go. My uncle gave it to me for nothing and none too soon as I needed something other than the Caddy to drive. That 3.8 will run its ass off but its had 5 transmissions, 2 since I've had it and I just can't keep up with it. I wish I had the money to keep it but I can't handle 3 cars. It gave me a good two years and I will miss it dearly.

Meanwhile I've been working on a new video game series 'Prince of Persia' on X-box. I'm about 2/3 done with the second game and am awaiting the arrival of the 3rd installment after a price drop and used ones start showing up on teh shelves. My video game playing has really kind of taperd off the past few years but I'm still into it. By the time I get around to buying a game its usually already been out for almost a year and the price has dropped significantly. I've been buying mostly used games latley now that I've managed to disperse my belief that used games never work. Anywho, I've been using the 'Prince of Persia' series to keep me from going out and spending money. It's been succesful so far and I'm lucky to have a girlfriend, or rather fiancee now , that acctually likes to watch me play video games. And maybe one of these days when I finnaly get a replacement video card I'll finish Doom 3 and go buy Flatout, the most awsomest gnarly, tubular, and cowabunganest destructin derby style game ever.

We decided to head to the beach today and we were in the water maybe 30-45 minutes and all of a sudden my leg was biten off by a shark! Ok fine it wasn't a shark but I did manage to get a big ass fish hook stuck in my middle toe on my right foot. That sucked. it also had another smaller hook attached to the line as well as a huge ass weight. So we made it back up to the beach and luckly there were a couple old ladys there that were nice enough to call an ambulance for me. They took me up to the local hospital where they removed the hook and gave me one of those shoes. Got to keep the hook. Think I might hang it up on my wall. Well I've got to go get a shower I still have beach all over me.

So much so I was able to take the lower armrests of the LeSabre as mine were broken on both doors and needed replacing and they were the same color too. Everything went well except I had to pull out the damn rivets for the window motor from the LeSaber with a pair of diagonals.

Also, I think its about time I let the Olds go. Reverse is going out again and I can't keep spending $1100 to put in rebuilt transmissions. So I think I'm going to trade it in for a '00-'04 Impala, probly just the base 3.4L model since I can pick one up for about $5-6k. I know thier quirks and I know whats going to go wrong on it and I know how to fix it.
You know, I had quite the journal going here before I decided to erase it and write this. Fortunatly it wasn't anything any of you needed to read anyhow. Just me going on about this and that currently going on right now in my life. I've just got to charge ahead, in the right direction hopefully. Seems to me though no matter how good I seem to be doing I always trip and fall down. Never fails. Never fails. Getting back up is the hardest part. You feel like you just want to give up. You feel like theres no way, no matter what you do, that you'll get back up and on track again. Well, I keep trying. As long as it'll take I'll try to get back up and going again because it's worth it. Yeah I'm scared to death of falling again because I might no be able to recover but I keep going because I learn not to make that same mistake again, though thats not always the case. Anyhow, I'm outta here. Need food and stuff like that.

Well, can anyone guess what I did this weekend? I took a 3 day, 1600mile round trip(by car no less) weekend trip to Michigan. Yup. 16 hours both ways. Why you ask? Becuase my cousin ~jamopajamo was having her graduation party. And she's the only one I would do that for because of all the many many many many grandkids and greatgrand kids spawned from my grandmother, she's the only one I'm close too. But yeah, I busted my ass 5 days in a row working 10 hours a day last week since Sunday to get in my ours plus a little overtime to make it up there and I had to work two more 10 hours days Monday and Tuesday after we got back. I worked by myself for 10 hours on Sunday which was my birthday no less just to get there. I even ended up working almost 11 1/2 hours last thursday before we left. Anyhow, it was fun a very spontaneous, did I mention I only had a weeks notice too? But never again will I do a 3 day trip to Michigan. As fun as it was that was a one time deal. I'm glad I did it though, got to see family, and got to introduce my girlfriend to everyone.

Meanwhile my girlfriend and I were just on our way home form Wal-Mart about 45 minutes ago and we pulled up to a stop light, second in line two lanes over formt eh left turn lane. All of a sudden I hear a screaching noise, I htought some jerk was trying to spin his tires but it wasn't right....the noise just kep going and getting louder. Next thing I know I see a street sighn go flying through the air and nail the minivan in fron of us and see a crumples mass of black and white cars almost nail the Mustang next to the minivan. Some stupid kid talking on her damn cell phone in a brand spankin' new Toyota Celica nailed the front clip of some poor lady's Acura sitting in the left turn lane. I htink the girl was talking on her cell phone and realized she was going to miss her right turn so of course she was going way to fst and tried to turn and slammed her brakes locking up the tires and skidding for about 100 feet, jumping the curb and hitting the other lady. No one was hurt but their gonna be feeling it in a couple days.

We got there at 11 and by the time 4 rolled around we'd had our share so we headed back home. We managed to make it there ok but of course we got lost on the way back and made a huge circle before we even left the Richmond/Petersburg area. But we made it home though. We would have stayed till 10 for teh top fulers and all the fireworks and stuff but after 5 hours we were done. Didn't take to many pictures cause they all would have turned out exactly the same as they did last year. Got a couple of short video clips though.

Came home, no one was here so I started farting around on the computer when my girlfriend calls and tells me "You'll never guess where I am!". Well, I guessed and I was right. Had a huge computer geek overload piecing together old computers for $3 from thrift stores so we can have a system to use linux on. Found out something new about a friend of mine and now that I look back I don't know how I didn't figure it out before.

Also I figured out what I'm doing for my birthday, my friend (who also turns 21 six days after me) and I are going to Motorworld to drive go-karts and the another day we're going to Busch Gardens to get our summer sizzler passes. Also I'm going to the AC Delco Virginia IHRA Nationals this Saturday! Our AC Delco suplier gives our shop 2 free VIP tickets each year, I go them last year and man was it awsome! Theres nothing like the shockwave from a top fuel dragster taking off! So that was an unexpected 'birthday gift' from the shop. Just so happend no one else could go ad they knew I enjoyed it last year. So expect some pics if any of them turn out ok.

I'm probly one of the best guys at work, but the things they were asking were things we never deal with. Those cabs run 350,000 miles with no internal engine problems at all. I've never had to take an intake off or even crack a valve cover on them, except for the Impala 3.4 with their intake leaks but thats nothing compared to what they were asking on the test. Oh well.

My damn ac system is pissing me off. I had to replace the compressor finnaly before the pulley fell off, so I figured I may as well try to get the rest of the ac to work while I'm at it. Got a compressor, orafice tube, and accumulator. Picked up some r12 gauges(coulnd't find 134a gauges) since I had the older system hookups, got a portable vacume and try'd to vacume it down. There was a leak so I went out and got new hoses going to the compressor. No leak this time but I tried charging it and the damn high side valve started leaking. No one seems to carry the high side line from the evaporator to the condensor(at least thats where it looks like it hookes up to me) so I took a 134a fitting and capped it off with that and tried again, no noticable leaking, the guage was wasn't moving down. So it seems to be holding pressure but the damn compressor won't kick in. So all I can think to replace are the switches, one in the back of the compressor which came from the old compessor, one the the accumulator, and one on the high side. If that doesn't work I give up. I'll ask my boss to stay late with me next Sunday to see if we can figure it out. I checked the fuses but there isn't one for the compressor. All I can figure is maybe the switches are bad and I'm sure they probly are. I've had the car for 2 years now and the ac didn't work, so theres no telling if the switches are original or not. It would probly help if I'd done ac before too. This is my first time messing with it but I'll probly be workin on ac in the cabs this summer. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Well, the new digital camer came in the other day. Its an Olympus C 765 UZ and it seems to be quite a decent camera. I'm acctually really surprised with it. I'm still getting used to the controls. I used to turning a couple dials and pulling the film winder arm, not pushing a bunch of buttons and surfing through menus to take pictures. But I am impressed with the image quality and sharpness, albeit the small sensor really limits my control over depth of field, and especially with the highest quality setting, uncompressed TIFF. The image is very sharp and clear even at full size. The only down side is the TIFF file takes up about 16mb per pic, fortunatly we bought a 256mb xd card wich can hold about 30 or so of the TIFF files. I'll be using the TIFf setting for serious stuff mostly. So if the weather ever decides to let up I'll try and get some new pics. I'm really looking forward to taking it to work and getting some pics.

Here I am. Alone. My girlfriends at work. My family in Germany. Left to wallow around in my own thoughts. Though my thoughts never seem to get to far. They just seem to stop once I get to a point where any real complex thinking is involved. Perhaps it's because I don't feel a need to go any further with whatever it is in question. I don't do well with putting my thoughts into words, even if I'm just saying those words to myself and not writing them down. I know what my thoughts are, I don't need to put them into words. Maybe I burned myself out on thinking back in high school. That now seemingly awkward, strange time of my, and I'm sure everyone elses, life, that time that now seems so distant. I remeber I'd sit in class and think about almost anything until there wasn't anything left to think about. I'd sit there and wonder why, analize it, roll it over in my head a thousand times, taking in different perspectives, trying to come to a conclusion that I agreed with. Maybe now that I'm more active, have a wonderful girlfriend(my first and only), I have a full time job, I have a few bills to pay, I have more things to do, I don't have to think about how the universe works. Maybe I don't have the time to anymore. Not like I did in high school. I think I figured it all out and now all those thoughts are just sitting on the back burner, already thought out. But what about new ones. They try to get going but then stop. I don't feel like thinking them out. I haven't figured out if it's because I know how they'll come out or because I don't feel that I need to sit there and put it into words in my own head when I already know what I mean. I'll deal with it when it needs to be dealt with, why tire myself out on thinking about it now? Of course this whole journal in a contradiction to everything said in it. But this is that rare occasion where my thoughts go further and come out in words. Probly not where anyone else would understand what I'm saying. As it seems to me most of this a stream of consciousness type of journal. It's not supposed to make sense to anyone else but me. I think I'm done. I don't feel like going on about it and I'm really hungery. I do feel much better for having done something though. I'm really not in any type of particula mood right now. Just a 'me' mood. Neither happy, nor sad, nor angry or depressed. Just my regular old default mood. I'ma go eat before my stomach starts consuming itself. Maybe I'll watch some tv or play some video games when I'm done. Maybe go try and fart on that damn dog if he doesn't stop barking.

Well, maybe there'll be some new stuff here soon. The girlfriend and I are going in on an Olympus C765 UZ digital camera. I'll be losing control of much of my precious DOF because the sensor is so small (I'd need a Digital SLR to even come close to a 35mm with aparture controlling DOF) but I can live without it for now. I'll be able to take more pics and whatnot and even maco finaly. Unfortunatly Best Buy doesn't carry it in store but they have the best price on it with extended 4 year warranty and and extra 256mb xd card so I'll have to order it online. But maybe soon I'll have some pics.

It's starting to warm up here. Acctually we're skipping sping and going stait for the 70+ degree weather. It was around 85 today.

Almost got the AC working in the Olds. Got a reman. compressor, new accumulator and orafice tube and have them installed and oiled, just gotta vacume it down and charge it up and hope theres no leaks. Ac is a bit easier than I thought just as everyone's been telling so I'll probly be doind allot of AC work on the cabs this summer. Mean time I'll be getting $200 tomorrow for fixing an intake leak for the guy that owns the gas station across the street where we take the cabs for state inspection. None of his guys will touch it and I've been doing almost 2 a weekend since the year started so it shouldn't be too much of a problem for me. I can do them in about 3 hours on a good day. I think it's 5 hours in the books so if thats all I did and was getting paid in a flat rate hour I'd making a killing. Either way its $200 in my pocket.

Saw that 'Sin City' movie. It was pretty damn good. Not really a movie that goes form point A to point B. It was really a collection of stories narrarated really well by the main character of that particular story. It was also presented very well. Lots of computer stuff but it worked to make it look like a comic book. Lotsa old cars, Tri 5 Chevys, 50's Chrysler, 50's T-birds, even a modern Ferrari and Mercedes. It's worth the money I think.

Well, I just got back from a "Starting and Charging systems' clinic. I figured I'd go, free food and I get paid for it, can't beat that. So I sat there and listened to the guy talk, while holding back laughter becasue a co-woker of mine and some guys from another shop were goofing off, and I just got completly lost. I know the basic ways to test starters and alternators and batteries but this stuff was going over my head. I'm sure some of it might not really be neccesary but I'd would have liked to know what he was talking about. Sitting there with all these other people that could follow him, or seemed to anyhow, made me feel like I really didn't know anything. It's very frustrating. You think you know something but you really don't. I can relpace parts, do simple, mostly obvious dianoses, stuff like that. I guess it's all just another push to get me into school for this stuff next fall. The best place we have around here is ATI so thats what I'm going for. I'm also asking for $10 and hour this upcoming "performace review"(I can't remeber the word they use for it). I'ts been two years, I can do just about anything they need, I'm one of two guys that does intake gaskets on the 3.4's and the only one that can do them in 3.5 hours. Not to mention I'm now the only one of the two allowed to do them now cause I'm so fast. I did 3 back to back a couple weeks ago and just the past two days I've done two. Anyhow, its jump from 8.50/hr. It'll get me motivated until raise time rolls around next year. Maybe I'll have my first certification by then and will get an even bigger raise. Maybe I'll be working at BMW, who knows. I just have to get into school for this stuff.

Nothing much going on in the artistic front. I still have a few pics of cab12 I could load but I just haven't felt like it. I really haven't had any inspiration to make me want to grab my camera and go take some pictures. I also feel that my pictures don't seem to be that interesting anymore. I don't see them getting any better or creative. I have a couple ideas in my head, just not the desire to execute them. I guess I'm in one of my dead periods where I just want to play video games and just not do much in general. Maybe when it warms up I'll get out there and put my brain to good use. Till then it seems to be fried from doing intake gaskets and all this wacky ass cold weather we've been having.

I haven't been around too much the past couple of days 'cause I just got in the last of my computer parts. I'm still going through and working out the kinks, though for some reason theres a little bit of graphical artifacting in Win X P and also Doom 3, even after drivers and patches adn whatnot so I dunno whats up with that. Doom 3 has some dort of 'peppery' effect going on where small black dots will appear for split seconds, kinda like when you go to see a movie and the film is dirty. I've managed to eliminate most of it though it still does it, but not so much that it really noticeable. That and FireFox isn't cooperating so I'm stuck using Internet Explorer. Well, I'm off to explore the depths of hell in Doom 3.

After a few months of sitting, I acctually went out and started up the old Caddy. I'm surprised the battery still works, its the same one that was in it when I got it several years ago. It was smoking lightly but went away after the oil started flowing and warming up. And the knocking is sounding more like something really serious is wrong. I took it down the sreet to put in some fresh gas and I'm going to try and go out at least once every week or so to start it and let it warm up, just so nothing else goes wrong rendering it imobile. I have to do that and get some primer on it before it eats itself. I was looking at parts to rebuild the engine and bring up a notch or two above stock. Gonna be at least a few thousand. So I just need to make sure it can move under its own power till I can get working on it. I was researching parts and just kept feeling more and more at a loss as I know what these parts are and what they do, I just have no idea which ones I need/want and how to put them together right. Theres so much more involved in building an engine than there is in just repairing things on a car in general. Maybe in a couple years I'll be able to do something with it finnaly. Maybe after going to ATI, the local auto tech school, I'll have that much more knowledge and experience to tackle it and acctualy know what I'm doing. I'll have more money maybe, maybe even working for BMW, or some other high end car company. Maybe I'll have a garage with a full set of tools wherever I'm living. Maybe I'll be able to finnaly build the car the way I've wanted to build it.

I dunno. I'm going to sign up for the ASE test this may. Hopefully if I pass I'll be able to get my first certification this summer and try and get my foot in the door at a dealer. I'm going to try and get into ATI so I can learn this stuff and be ahead of the game and make more money. We'll see. Until then the Caddy's going to sit, like it has been for the past couple years, while I look at and listen to everyone elses hotrods, imagining, wishing my car ran, looked and sounded like theirs. Watching these shows on Discovery and TLC where they build cars from the ground up, taking old beaters like mine and turning them into works of art that run like mad, all the while wishing I knew how to do what they do.

I don't know if I can really regret not getting into public school sooner than I did so I could take the auto courses. I could have been one step ahead but who knows. You can think about the future and plan for it all you want, but you won't know how things are really going to turn out until it acctually gets here. It's not that I'm unhappy with where I'm at right now, its not that at all, in fact I'm quite happy. I'm just feeling a little overwhelemd with the work ahead of me. With the Caddy, going for an ASE cert., getting an apartment, going for a job at a dealership wich could make or break me....I have allot of work ahead of me.

I guess this whole thing was brought on by going out and just starting up my Caddy and realizing how much stuff I need to do to get it running right again. Hmmm. At least I'm able to get my thoughts out of my head and into some other medium. Getting my thoughts out in writing, or even words for that matter is a very rare occurance.

Ah well. Hope everyone is enjoying the new stuff I've put up. I have more but I'm spacing it out till I get some inspiration to go out with my trusy camera and take some more pics. In the mean time I'm heading out to see 'Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior'. The previews looked cool and people said it was good so I'll give it a shot.

I now own the Silver '05 Stang, the Green Jeep, and the white RX-8. These things aren't that easy to get a hold of, you really have to look and wait which makes things interesting.

Anywho, I've spent most of my afternoon by myself. My girlfriend left for work about 3:30 or so. I got a shower and left about 6:00 to check out Best Buy and CompUSA for a video card. Didn't find one yet, its a battle between an ATI 9550 256mb and an Xtasy ATI 9600 256mg. Probly gonna be the latter. Picked up a $5 pizza from Little Sleazers and a Pepsi next door and found myself a quiet place in the parking lot to sit and eat. Thought about my new computer and hopefully getting some work done on the Caddy next month. I was getting sorta lonely though. Kinda felt like last year around this time, before I had met my girlfriend. Got to thinking how much more depressed and lonesome I'd be had I not met her.

'Bout halfway into the pizza I decided to head to the other side of the parking lot where my good friend was working at the video store and hung out there for about half an hour. Bought a couple new movies while I was there, too: Undercove Brother(he drives a gold '70 Convertable DeVille (yesssssssssss!)) and Starsky and Hutch with that badass Torino. Came home and here I am typing my thoughts for you all to see. Well, I'm off to play with my new transformers.

So Saturday one of the divers, Vern, comes in saying the heat isn't working in cab 12 again, the Caprice he drives every week. Vern has always been nice to me and whatnot and usually comes to me for help with his car if I'm working. Anyhow, he'd had problems with it several times before so this particular time I decided to swap out the heater core seeing as it was the only thing that really hadn't been replaced yet (it had only been flushed several times which seemed to only cure the problem temporarily as it would become clogged again). So I bring the car into the shop and about an hour later I get it all buttoned up and blowing hot air again. I open the door to the drivers lounge and signal to Vern that his car is ready, "Thanks man, I appreciate it", he says. "No Problem, take it easy man", I reply. Vern hops back into his cab and carts off to go make himself some money.

Now this is where things get fuzzy because I'm not sure exactly how things went down in the next two hours, I'm just going by what I've heard and seen and will try to fill in any gaps as best I can.

Shortly after Vern leaves the shop, less than an hour maybe minutes after, he tries making a right turn onto Cheasapeak Blvd. form a side street maybe a mile or so away from the shop where I had just installed the heater core for him so he can stay warm while he works. He looks right, no one coming. He looks left, sees a little blue car a few blocks off, he can make the left turn, no problem......right? Vern goes for the left turn.......Vern is still alive. Cops arrive at the scene and pull him out of the burning Caprice, saving his life. He is suffering from several broken bones, internal bleeding that the doctors cannot find the source of, and probably many other serious injuries, but luckly he is still alive and responding.

That little blue car, a newer Dodge Neon judging from the pictures, the one that was a few blocks off, wasn't going the posted 30 miles an hour. It left 90 foot skid marks. The impact was so violent it buckled the roof of the car, blew out every window but not the windsheild, surprisingly. Fuel lines running down the drivers side of the car ruptured, spilled fuel everywhere and ignited setting the passenger side on fire. Cab 12 is now 2 feet thinner in width and looks like a horse shoe.

They towed cab 12 to the shop yesterday where I was able to see just what kind of damage was caused. With permission from my boss I grabbed my camera and snapped off nearly 2 rolls of film. Unfortunatly I have once again neglected to set the correct film speed from 100 to 400 because I am so used to using 400 that I never bother checking the film speed setting. They should be able to salvage it where I take my film to be developed. If all turns out, you all can have a look at just how violent this crash was as I cannot really describe it in words.

Took me a week but I finnaly got the rear brakes on the Olds done. Got new drums, shoes, springs, cylinders and rubber brake hose, and custom hand bent brake line. 'Custom hand bent brake line?' you ask. Yes. After fitting all the new hardware on (with a little help from my girlfiend) I was in the process of bleeding and adjusting everything when one of the hard brake lines blew out. Yippee!! So since they don't make replacment lines I had to grab some 3/16ths steel tubing and make my own. Luckly it wasn't too difficult. Now the Olds is stopping like it was before, as if I hadn't even touched it. I like it when things turn out right.

I also just realized I have no picture of my Olds up here. I know its not much to look at but it'll give me a reason to pick up my camera so I can get some new stuff up here for everyone to look at and puke all over.

OK, I take my Oldsmobile back to the transmission shop cause its slipping again and its still under warranty so I shouldn't have to pay for anything. In the mean time I got to scoot around in my girlfriends unfinished '66 Stang for the week which was kinda fun, it only has a 200 strait 6 and a 3 speed with power nothing but its a good little car. Anywho, I get a call telling me the cars done and ready to be picked up. Apparently there was a leak that I was unaware of and I burnt the trans up again. And then they tell me I have a serious power steering leak which I was not aware of either. I never saw puddles under the car anywhere, trans or steering fluid. So they put in a new trans and thats all set. Turns out the low side steering line runs up to the front of the car and acts as a cooler then loops back and connects to the back of the rack and where it runs along the frame up to the front, its completly rusted out. So instead of buying a whole new line to put in, theres a section thats rubber in the line where I can splice it right into the metal tube that runs into the rack and bypass running it up to the front of the car. Maybe save me a few bucks. 'cept now my fuel and brake lines running to the back of the car aren't looking to hot and I may end up having to replace each of those which is gonna be a bitch. Then I still need struts all around and hub bearings in the front, need to check the rear brakes since I haven't done that since I've had the thing, and I need to replace the windshield cause those two big ass cracks aren't going to pass inspection next month.
