My birthday was September 16th. That adds to my already growing list of who and what I am. Of course my age is unknown (or happily forgotten) because you're only as old as you feel.

What did I want for my birthday that I didn't get? You guessed it ... a RED CONVERTIBLE. Make that a FAST RED CONVERTIBLE !!!

I recently experienced what the community of DA is all about. I have added photos that have special meaning for me in my gallery. At times I cannot remember where they were taken and don't want to make a fool of myself and give the wrong description. I would always like to know more about the locations though.

As I had visited so many location during a cruise to Alaska and staying a few days in Vancouver then drove to Seattle before flying home it was difficult to remember where each photo was taken. Thankfully another deviant



riverdance


lives in Vancouver and knew exactly where my photos had been taken, Her comments, tongue-in-cheek, were quite humorous, educational and gave a much more appropriate descriptions for both !!!

What can I say? Thank you riverdance for providing information I have always wished I had known. You have my undying admiration !!!

I hope you get a chuckle out of her comments as I did.

I am NOT a morning person. Anybody who knows me would be shocked to see me out and about before noon. I have rarely seen the sun rise and if I did it was because I stayed up all night!

But a friend has been insisting that great photos abound at a local open-air farmer's market. She is one of those people who believes the day starts early (I am not sure how early because I refuse to answer the phone when she calls to wake me) and is up early EVERY day, including Saturday! with makeup and hair done (Ms. Perfection)!!! She cannot understand why I cannot seem to look presentable, much less get out of bed, before noon. I can usually hit the street around 2:00 in the afternoon if there is something or some place important that interests me!

Sooooo, after months of proding and bribes I finally agreed to go to the market with her ... only if she called to wake me. What time were we to get up? 6:00 AM !!! I had just drifted off to sleep at that time! But she called and I obeyed. I managed to get a bath, do something with my hair and put on my face before she arrived. It took me a few minutes to gather my cameras, check for film, extra batteries and cards for my digital... while she patiently drank coffee and waited.

That's one thing we agree on; COFFEE !!! We love good coffee and enjoy trying different flavors. An exciting part of our trip to the market was visiting some great coffee shops!!! But we had to start out by taking our steamy hot Joe Muggs with us.

As soon as we arrived and unpacked cameras we started shooting. We were so intent on our subjects that we lost each other and after two hours of taking photos of vendors, fruits and vegetables, musicians and dancer, and craftsmen of all types I finally thought to call her mobile phone. We got back together and decided we had had enough of bumping elbows with the crowd so we left to find a place for breakfast. Mind you, it's still only 10:00 AM!

After breakfast we returned home to upload our digital shots onto my computer to see what we managed to get. Although we had wandered around seperately we came home with many identical shots. didn't take as many photos as I did, nobody ever does. I think I overkill, afraid I won't get the right angle or something will not be "just right" so I click and click and click ...

One kind gentleman the potter whom I took photos of and talked with for quite some time was a wonderful craftsman. We found that we live near one another. He had been looking for a home church so we made plans to meet at mine. I always say "everything happens for a reason" and "God works in mysterious ways"!!!

A fellow singing in Spanish (which I do not understand) explained to me he was the pastor of his church and was raising money to rebuild their recently burned building. He brought with him two wonderful dancers strolling dance team who had the most beautiful smiles ... God does that, you know!

I am glad finally talked me into going to the farmer's market with her. I met some of the most wonderful people!!! I will post more photos later and, hopefully, will also.

When actions are performed in secrecy and coverup is employed curiosity and rumors take over. If everything is on the up and up, speak up and aleviate the concerns of so many that a misjustice was done.

However, should a misjustice have taken place it's quite simple to undo and is easily corrected. DA (the organization) can provide an apology, reinstatement of Jark, and notification to the community of corrected policies.

In the future the "organization" can get off their high horses and mingle with the real DA, the community, for without them (us) there is no DA.

All will suffice. ... And we can live happily ever after.

An easy way to describe how I feel is to think of taking a vacation. There is one road that leads to our desired destination but many that cross and some are disturbingly close to the one we should take (like a "Y" in the road). Many of these alternate routes will get us to our destination but those roads are not always as easily traveled. The backroads have potholes and from lack of repair have no signs while others are under construction and take us on yet another detour. While traveling these backroads we are more concerned about road conditions, what is ahead and which road to choose next that we lose sight of our ultimate destination.

The side roads lead back to the one we want to be on but they make the trip a little more difficult. Not that there aren't difficulties on the main road too but there is always somebody there to help us and lead us in the right direction. Each road has its own group of people. Those on the back roads are also lost and are searching just like we are while those on the main road know where they are and where they are going because they can see their destination.

So, while God is always beside us He allows us to choose the road to travel. He will also guide us back to where we should be if we only ask. He never promised that even the main road would be without difficulties but He has promised through His Son that once we reach our destined vacation it will all be worthwhile; everything we could imagine and more.

May God be with you as you travel toward your destined "vacation".

I have always believed things happen for a reason. God doesn’t just let things happen, He has a plan. I can work with Him or not. It’s my choice! The plan and the people necessary to fulfill His goal for me are in place and all is set in motion and available to me if I will only follow Him. Sometimes He speaks loudly, other times He is barely audible and many times he gives me “signs”. Although the obvoius signs are easy to see, often I miss the small ones. At times He wants me to work a bit harder or go in a different direction. And when things aren’t going very well He is allowing me to become stronger for what is to come. I don’t know what is next but I know it will be different and it is good. It is His plan.
