_{Hello everyone! How've you all been?
Im back from the dead, refreshed & with so many new photo ideas!
I just wanted to update my journal quick to let you all know three things..

1. I'm going to be reorganizing & reuploading everything. This includes my gallery & my watchlist, so don't be alarmed if you see my empty watchlist and gallery, everything is coming back!

2. Contest voting is coming soon! Keep an eye out!

3. And because I'm a quitter, 365 project is going to be no more
Im so terrible at commitment, I really don't have the time to take a photo everyday. I go to school at 7AM and when I get back it's growing dark! Not to mention homework etc. And heres me thinking I could do it! I really can't
Oh well, maybe sometime.
Instead, I've opted for something easier, that should be able to do. 52 Photowalks. Thats one walk with my camera every week. This means that I can do it on the weekends! Wow I honestly can't believe I gave up on the 365 after so little days, but I guess I really wasn't able to do it So 52 Photowalks it is, beginning tomorrow, the start of a new week.

365 Day Project & News! UPDATE

Disease

Wow! I haven't fully updated my journal in a while! Which could be a good or bad thing, but either way, I have a lot of news for you guys! Regarding things both good and bad, inside and outside of deviantART. Let's get started

Lets have the bad news first. I think you all know my dog, Maggie, who appears in most of my shots.

Recently, she had been acting really depressive. She didn't want to do anything, she just lay around and slept all day, barely even wagging her tail. My mother took her to the vet to get her checked out, after her mood didn't lift for a week. Our vet thinks she has Kidney Disease. Of course, Kidney Disease is treatable, but not curable. Test are still being run to see whats wrong, but Kidney Disease is better than something like Cancer (my old dog, Tess, died of cancer when I was little) because humans, and I believe dogs as well, can live with only 50% kidney function. Anyway, thats the only bad news I've got, we've just gotta hope she gets better.

Now on to the good stuff!

365 Day Project

Now here is something I am extremely excited about!
I have decided to do the 365 Day Project (lots of information about it in that link)
Basically, the idea is to take one photo everyday for 365 days. This may sound easy, but I am sure that after a while, it will get harder and harder to think of new ideas.

I've seen many photographers doing this around dA lately, and thought that I might give it a try! I think it's a fun, creative way to improve your photography skills, as well as document your life.

I will be beginning this new project tomorrow, and have a quick question for you; Would anyone like to join me?
I'd be ecstatic if I had someone to do this along with me Its up to you though!

The macro contest I held a couple of months ago was a huge success, and so much fun, that I think another one would be great
The theme of this contest? Landscape/Waterscape Photography!

Whether it's the one you've been visiting since you were a kid, or the one you just discovered yesterday, we all have that place. Maybe you even found a place on a recent vacation that you took a photo of! May it be a forest, park, lake, river or just the view from your balcony, I want you to capture that place looking it's best!

Contest Information

Theme: Landscape/Waterscape Photography

Media: Photographers only, sorry to all the other artists! Ill make sure that my next contest includes everyone

Deadline: November 9th, 2009 at 12:00 AM MST. This gives you a month to get your photo in!

Rules & Requirements:
- The photo can be new or old. I want your best landscape photos!
- You must note your entry to me, and please try to make sure that you note the thumb to me. It's alright if you send a link, but thumbs would make my life much much easier.
- You are allowed to change your contest submission once throughout the time that the contest is running, if you decide you dont like your first. Just send me a note titled something like Resubmission with a thumb to your work, and I'd be happy to change it
- No photomanipulations allowed. Granted, I don't mind converting it to black and white, upping the contrast, saturation, etc. Just nothing too dramatic!
-Please link back to either this journal, the news article, or my page in the photo's subscription

How To Enter:
Once you have your photograph ready, please note me with a thumb of your picture, preferably not a link. I wont be angry if you send a link, thumbs will just make my job much much easier. Title the note "Contest Entry" or something along the lines of that.

Inspiration

Have you ever had that lack of inspiration? Where the creativity juice just isn't flowing?
I want to know..
What gets you inspired to get out and take some more photographs, or draw something new, or write a new piece?

For me? You probably don't care all that much, but it's this song I found a while ago, lately the lyrics have been getting me really inspired. To tell the truth they aren't particularily meaningful, but they are somehow full of inspiration for me. Let me know what you think of them!

An Apology

Hello everyone!

Okay, first off I think I should let everyone know that I won't be as active on dA these days, since I don't seem to have the time for it. I just started high school on Tuesday, and though I have been enjoying it, it's taken up a lot of my time. I have a load of homework when I come home, and I'm exhausted, not to mention that i'm currently sick with a cold
I don't feel the need to check my deviantART everyday, and answer all my messages, though I still do check and answer them
So anyways, the point of this journal was pretty much to let you guys know that I wont be on here as much anymore, but Ill still be on, and ill keep posting my photos!
So to conclude that.. sorry that I have being giving as much attention to dA, but Ill still give it attention

Well I'm terribly sorry for the flood of contest journals coming from me, most of you probably aren't interested, are you?
But this should be the last one for a while, Ill try to fit everything in here.

I will no longer be putting people who say they will be participating in my journal, because my journal is getting out of control.
No, it's literally too long, deviantART won't let me post it! But thats a good sign, we have 120 entries already!!
It's going to be very hard to judge

Judging
Now let me tell you guys how the judging is going to work:
There are three judges:

Myself
=Kaz-D
And somebody outside of deviantART

Each of us will pick out our favorite from all the entries, then it will be put to a public poll.
Three photographs in the poll, who will ultimately place First, Second, or Third. The poll will stay posted for 24 hours, and once that 24 hours is up, it will be taken down and the results will be posted, and prizes will be given out!

Important Dates
August 29, 2009 At 11:59 AM MST- Your entries are due on this date!! And dont worry if its a couple of hours late, say you get it in at 5:00 AM MST, I wont even be up, so dont worry about something like that.
August 30th, 2009 Judging will begin! If your entry isn't in, it wont get judged. Sorry, but we wont be accepting any late entries. The poll will also be put up on this day.
August 31, 2009 The poll will be taken down, results posted, and prizes given out!

All contestants will receive a note from me when the judging is about to start, and when the poll is put up!

Are you going to read this?

Hey everyone! How is all your summers going? (Or if it's not summer, how are you?)
Just thought I'd write a new journal, to get rid of the old one, as well as give out features as one of my contest prizes
And update too, I suppose

As for my lack of posting, im sorry, but my internet is terribly slow. I've been trying to upload some cool shots ive gotten from various places, but my internet doesn't seem to want to load them up >< Hopefully the internet here will start to upload my things, before I grow too old.... silver and gold XD

I've also been trying to get a couple drawings for contests and things done, but I haven't been very motivated to do much recently, though I have got a couple thing just about coloured.

And also, id like to say that I am so sorry that I haven't been able to thank everyone for the favorites on my work. I appreciate them so much but i've had such a lack of time that I haven't been able to have a lot of time on here to do things like that, as well as replying to comments. I apologize for my really late replys lately, but I have been quite busy.
Now, I know what you're probably thinking...
"Honestly, how busy can a thirteen year old girl get?"
To tell the truth, i've mostly been trying to make the most of my summer before I go to high school. Hanging out with friends that aren't coming along with me, and even with the friends that are, because who knows what will happen between friends in High School, right?
I apologize again for all the lateness of my replys, and for the lack of thank you's.
I appreciate every single favorite, comment, critique as well as the amount of the support I get from everyone on this site. It's a wonderful site, despite the drama that happens, and a wonderful community. As cheesy as that probably sounded, Thank You So Much

Well, now that i've got that little speech out, (actually longer then I'd expected) lets get on with the rest of the journal!

So I've been thinking about this for a while.. What If We Could Make A HUGE Rainbow News Article?
I've seen the rainbow features done before, but what if we could make a giant rainbow of art? When I say giant, I mean GIANT! Like as giant as it can go!
Sound fun? Wanna participate?

Has to be mostly one colour of the rainbow
NO deadline. We'll stop when we have.. 150 for each colour? That makes 1050 pieces of art together!!

Theme
The theme is Love/Hate You must interpret this theme into your artwork.

Deadline We don't have an exact date yet, but probably somewhere around the middle of june/beginning of july. We'll make a due date based on how many entries we get by a certain period/how many contestants we have

Rules
Your deviation must be no older than a month old
It can be anything fitting into these three categories: Photography, Traditional Art or Digital Art.
In the artists comments, please say that it's for a contest and link back to this journal, or either =musicalmadhouse (my) or ~Moon-Forever's page

Voting
Each contest entry will be put under a category (photography, traditional art or digital art) and people will vote for the top two of each category. ~Moon-Forever and I will then decide the first place in each catagory, and first and second (possibly third and fourth, depending on how many entries we get) overall. There is prizes!! (See below) We will let everyone know when voting is to start, and how to vote/rules etc.

Comment on this journal, note either ~Moon-Forever or me, or comment somewhere telling us that you would like to enter. Your name will then go on the contestant list!

I hate colds. They're just so annoying.
So thats the bad thing about now, I have a bad cold
BUT
I GOT PERMISSION FROM MY PARENTS TO MAKE A MURAL ON MY BEDROOM WALL!!
IM SO EXCITED!
I'm not really sure what im gonna do yet, I have this tree design with a bird on it (its actually cooler then it sounds, I just suck at description) So i'm gonna put that on, and maybe add on to it.
Only bad thing is that I will have to take down my posters and put them somewhere else, which I might not have enough room for.
Its gonna be so great! (except for the posters part...i might have to play elimination with them )
AND
It's starting to warm up, +3 or -3 or something on Monday! YES! Now some people are probably like "wow, i feel bad for you, you're gonna freeze to death". But no, I live in Canada. And I also live in an igloo. And ride Polar Bears to school.

100 Picture Challenge

Okay so i've decided to take the 100 picture challenge. The point of it is to test and improve your skills as an artist.

THE RULES

1.) Make 100 pics each pic having a theme listed below. Each pic should have ONE and only ONE theme to it, for it to count.

2.) No time limit so have fun.

3.) The main picture should be drawn but not limited to. for all fair purposes, people are allowed to use their paint programs and photo shop to create the pic.

3a.) pics should be of own artistic ability. You may not edit photos, or break any other rules set out in the Da etiquette policy. Your pics can be anything from sketches and doodles to great master pieces. Just have fun with it.
