My printer is trying to destroy my sanity. No really. I put in a new colour cartridge, and being only out of colour, thought nothing of it as I went through the realignment steps, but it is now printing without BLACK for some unknown reason, even though the black is half full. It makes me want to kill myself a little bit. Or maybe just chuck the thing out the window.
Maybe if I ignore it, it will fix itself.
I bought a game about Mini Ninjas for the X-Box. It's easy but strangely fun. Still not enough to pry me off of WoW completely though.

Private Exchange:
                           <a href="http://alienfirst.deviantart.co...

The holiday season is finally over! It sure is fun, but it's way too busy. Should be a little more time for art now. Hopefully some original character stuff to go with all the art exchanges. I do have an illustration project in the works with some friends, but you won't be seeing any of that for a little bit anyway. And other than that I've got the urge to draw but I'm not sure who I'm in the mood to do, any requests or suggestions? If there's anything anyone would like to see, I'd love the ideas. Feeling a bit directionless with my energy these days.

Recently got around to foldering my gallery and favorites so they're easier to browse.
Hello again!

My pictures have gotten a little smaller lately. This is the biggest problem with the new laptop, it's screen is so little compared to my lovely, lovely wide screen PC monitor. (So worth the money.) But it's been nice to be able to work on projects while I'm away from home, which is pretty much all the time lately. Not to mention play World of Warcraft anywhere I please! Hehe...

Anyway I've been sketching a lot lately but not getting a lot of really colourable work done. The gallery is looking a bit sparse. What I have been doing is mostly DnD related so I hope everyone is alright with a zillion little Nina and Sidae drawings... (well realistically I'm not sure how many will get put up. I've been practicing with little inking pens and when I can't erase -- stuff gets a little awkward.)

I recently got around to foldering my gallery and favorites so they're easier to browse. You should hit the gift section and check out the PE work I've gotten as exchanges, it's beautiful and I'm so grateful! I've missed the last few monthly exchange rounds due to busyness but I'm signed up for the current one, yay! I also hope to get more work with my own characters up soon, time permitting. Actually, until a day ago, I had nothing but original character art in all four 'featured' sidebar spaces for a whole month!
Busy times, been getting ready for final critiques next month. That would be plenty of time if it weren't for construction and carving and bisqueing and glazing and firing and whatnot requiring me to be so gosh darn organized. It doesn't come naturally. Been staying late at the school a lot. Carving takes hours but I get to watch a lot of movies if I remember to bring the laptop with me.

I think my bloodstream is three parts coffee by this point.

Lauren bought Guitar Hero III, which is awesome, even though I'm untalented. May need to take that bad boy onto Live at some point. Also, Tyson gifted me with the second two Fatal Frame games, so now I have them all, which makes me all kinds of happy. Ghosts! Yay!

Hasn't been a whole lot of time for art, at least not the postable kind. My sketchbook is brimming full of weird little doodles from my Cultural Anthropology lectures. I get a lot of sketching done in there, it's way too early in the morning to stay awake otherwise.

So yeah, I haven't updated a whole lot, not sure when it will pick up, I've got lots to do. I'm sure there will be random things, however. :3

Another problem with not having my own website yet: I wanted these on DA but I didn't feel like flooding the watch lists of those who visit me with a zillion journal entries. So instead, I just edited old journal entries I wasn't using anymore. Hence why some are dated 2004 when I just did them up today. And have comments on them that make no sense in context. Haha!

I know I'm lazy and I'll get around to making a real webpage when I have the time to come up with some pretty code. And also some money and a credit card to pay for it would be nice.

In the meantime, here is a nice table of links for easy navigation of the bios. Not all of them are totally finished yet, I'll edit them as I get the time.

Sidae
Race: Human
Age: 16
Height: Four feet eight inches
Skintone: Pale, almost chalky white
Eyes: Red
Hair: White and curly; she prefers to wear it loose but for practical reasons braids it back. It's very long and unruly.

History: (Sidae is a new character from the same D&D world as Nina.)
Far down the river from Battlebridge is a vast swamp. It was once rich farmland and housed the immense capital city of the empire, until a magical cataclysm cracked the continent and flooding rendered the area unlivable. The swamp is treacherous, but small groups of people still make their home there. Sidae is a member of one such tribe.

The swamp people are human, but strangely coloured, like albinos. Popular opinion has it that magic has twisted their appearance. They are shamanic in nature, and use the bones of creatures and people to call their spirits and gain abilities from them. Three distinct castes have emerged in their society. In the top rung are the Spirit Talkers, who have the strongest ability to communicate with the dead and shape their power. Swamp Rangers have learned the ways of the mire and its living beasts, and provide safe passage through the ever shifting terrain. Sidae belongs to the third caste, the Swamp Stalkers, who are masters of stealth and excellent hunters. They also lead raids into empire villages to collect supplies and new bones on occasion. Many of their techniques are similar to an assassin class, although they use bones they have acquired to access preternatural abilities.

Sidae is not far along her path and still very low ranked, but is eager to learn. Recently, two strangers (Wimper and Garneth, ) arrived in her village seeking a cure for a poison which originated in the swamp. The elders agreed to grant them the cure, in exchange for their skulls upon their deaths. They reluctantly agreed, and Sidae was sent to Battlebride with them until such time as they expire, at which point she is required to bring their skulls back home with her. The elders consulted the spirits and felt that Garneth, (who was once an assassin himself,) would have much to teach the young Swamp Stalker. She has been shadowing Garneth ever since, although unlike the elders she does not speak a language in common with him. He doesn't have a lot of patience with her, and gets angry frequently. In return, she says nasty things about him that he can't translate. She gets along badly with his other ward, Jinn, a fourteen year old wild fire mage. Jinn has hated her ever since she prevented him from following Garneth into battle by rubbing sickening poison into his wounds and binding him. He ignores the fact that she probably kept him from getting himself killed.

Sidae has a ghostly appearance, being very pale and apt to appear out of nowhere. She wears a long white robe over pale coloured silk clothing, and uses blood red makeup under her eyes and on her lips in the traditional style of her clan. Coupled with her red eyes the effect can be startling in uncertain light. She adorns herself with wood and bone jewellery, around her neck and in her hair. She also carries a long, curved bone sword and conceals darts of the same material in various places about her person. Metal items feel cold and lifeless to her, and so she avoids their use.

I'm too lazy to find all my DA reference picture links, so here is the collection of them over at Photobucket, which includes what I have drawn and what other people have drawn for me. Art that isn't mine should have the artists name in the filename.
[link]

Nina Santamaria
Race: Wood Elf/Werefox
Age: 107
Height: Five feet
Skintone: Lightly tanned
Eyes: Green
Hair: Red, which gradients from a dark red to orange to blonde and finally to white. She wears it short and styled to curl at the ends, except for one long tail she wears down her back. It is generally knee length.

History: Nina comes from a D&D game my friends and I have been playing for about four years now. As any of you players might know, that's a pretty long time to keep up one campaign, and so a lot of pretty crazy things have happened to Nina as a result. I started playing her character with the intention of keeping a fairly normal, straight classed magic user. The only oddity about her was the fact that she was an elf. In four years of gameplay, our DM has managed to make an interesting chaos out of her life.

Nina is the runaway daughter of a noble house. She was always more interested in learning magic than in making babies, and escaped her family before that could become her fate. She started out fairly wild and unscrupulous; she and her new friends looted treasures from any tomb they could lay hands on. They left Nina's home continent far behind and eventually landed in a secret empire thought to be lost, where they have been making names for themselves ever since.

Responsibility has made her more respectful over the years. As more people have come to depend on her, she's settled down and learned to be a rational voice within the group. Unendingly optimistic, she's willing to be friendly with just about everything, (but she'll still toast any person who harms one of her friends.) Nina has a lot of friends that most of the rest of her party would just as soon be rid of, such as Maragni, a three hundred year old vampire. She keeps him fed on the condition that no other citizen of her empire be harmed. She's one of the only people who can feed him without being killed by the experience, thanks to her werefox blood.

Becoming a lycanthrope was an accident involving her almost-death and a chaos goddess offering to save her in return for service. The goddess decided the easiest way to fix her body, (which was significantly broken,) was to turn her into a regenerating creature. Nina has to keep this a secret, since the empire is a very superstitious place where any magical creature is feared. Being an elf there is almost bad enough. She knows that were her secret to become common knowledge, the best she could expect is exile and the worst a painful execution. However, being able to transform into a fangy, clawed monster in a fight has saved her life more than once. She has also come to love her association with her mischievous new goddess, who seems to favour the trouble she causes.

Nina lives in the capital city of Battlebridge and works for the council as High Magus. Each main city in the empire has one, and they are the only lawfully sanctioned magic users; all others are not tolerated if discovered. Nina is most commonly seen with Wimper and Garneth, a gnome illusionist and an assassin-turned-Gunbrother respectively. Wimper, who hides her profession, is her co-conspirator in all things magical, especially those things which qualify as practical jokes. Garneth acts as Nina's bodyguard, or so he claims, but he's more likely to cause trouble than to solve it. Nina has had to beg her goddess to intercede and save his live on a few notable occassions. She takes the stance that if anyone should be allowed to kill him it should be herself in repayment for countless indiscretions, but in reality he's one of the people she'd fight for the hardest.

Nina is friendly with just about everyone, and maintains an optimistic attitude about even the most dark hearted of her friends. She is convinced that all people can learn to do the right thing. However, she also hides a temper, and those unlucky enough to ignite it are likely to find themselves on the recieving end of an expertly thrown fireball. Fire and lightning spells are her favorite thing to learn and play with. She would be more fearsome and formidable if she weren't so darn cheerful. Nina is always willing to try diplomacy first, but when that fails she has the firepower to put down a lot of resistance. Somehow she still doesn't understand why most citizens fear wizards.

I'm too lazy to find all my DA reference picture links, so here is the collection of them over at Photobucket, which includes what I have drawn and what other people have drawn for me.
Name: Gryffin Forestson
Race: Erune
Age: 23
Height: Five feet ten inches
Skintone: Light green
Eyes: Light green
Hair: Black with lighter green ends. He also wears a small goatee.

History: Gryffin is the younger of two sons in a royal lineage, the proverbial spare of the heir-and-a-spare system. His kingdom is located below that of the kreelin riders, and it supports them in their war against the Tamyr in exchange for protection. They are an earthbound people, deeply connected to the land. They are wary of the kreelin, who never seem to touch the ground. (They don't even have proper legs for goodness sake.) Gryffin is well aware of his lower status as a younger son and feels he could do a much better job as leader than his older brother. This is mostly a prideful delusion, but Gryffin *was* able to accurately deduce that his family's advisors are grooming his brother to become their puppet on the throne. He was sent away to the kreelin riders stronghold as an ambassador, where it was hoped he could feel like he was doing something important to support his kingdom, while also being kept out of the way. He has a selfish and superior attitude and likes to impose it upon others, but when involved in kingdom buisiness he is actually fairly astute.

As an ambassador, he does have a tendancy to feel a little bit too important, however. Every year when new trainees are circulating the compound, he likes to "meet and greet," let them know just exactly how important he is, and that they should be ready to listen to him when he tells them to do something. Even though he's just a braggart, he can be pretty intimidating to the new trainees. After all, he has the clout of an entire kingdom behind him, (or so he says.)

Tandi is taking lunch in the garden when she first runs across him, or rather, is run over by him. When he refuses to replace the meal he's knocked over, she tries to stand up for herself as her instructor has been teaching her and threatens to flatten him, not knowing about his social standing. Once he's gotten through a lengthy do-you-know-just-who-I-am speech, Gryffin dares her to hit him and see what her instructors will do to her for it. Tandi backs off, but unfortunately for her, Gryffin loves intimidating people. He follows her around for nearly a week, picking on her and bumping into her, telling her to go ahead and hit him for it if she likes.
By the end of the week Tandi's temper overrides her fear of punishment and she decks him in the stairwell, knocking him out when he trips down the stairs. She confesses to her primary instructor right away, and instead of punishing her, Katryn is only surprised that Tandi didn't lay him out sooner.

When the whole thing is said and done, Tandi no longer has a problem telling Gryffin exactly what she thinks of him. He's not used to that kind of treatment, and so he still follows her around, staging some legendary arguments all over the grounds. He's pretty sure he doesn't like the things she calls him, but somehow he's happiest when he's trailing after her, and he can't understand why.

Tandi Arruna
Race: Human
Age: 19
Height: Five feet five inches
Skintone: Tanned
Eyes: Light green
Hair: Pale blonde, sometimes appears bluish. She wears it a little longer than shoulder length with beads on the left side. Her hair is a bit unruly and neither straight nor curly.

History: Tandi grew up in a northern fishing village, part of a reclusive and superstitious culture. Because of their insular nature and difficulty to reach, her village could not be warned in time to be saved from a Tamyr attack -- the first to strike the northern coast in hundreds of years. The Tamyr, elemental embodiments of demonic spirits, destroyed her home village while Tandi was in the hills beyond it. She was one of very few survivors who were discovered by kreelin riders, (mounted champions who combat the Tamyr with their own elemental spirits,) and was brought far to the southeast to their stronghold. Tandi was eventually found suitable to bond with a kreelin, Moonbead, and is currently training as a scout for the night patrol. While night patrol is a dangerous position for a new rider, she has exhibited an uncanny ability of precognition that warns her when Tamyr are near and makes her very valuable in preventing nighttime attacks. When she became a lunar patrolman she was given a blue tattoo on the right side of her face.

She often finds herself harassed by Gryffin, (more info on that in his journal entry,) but enjoys his company now that she has the upper hand on him in arguments. Gryffin's people have a deep connection to the earth and live with their feet firmly planted on the ground. They like it that way. Watching their neighbors twirl through the air on the backs of kreelin make their hearts do little flippity-flops of terror. To cheer Tandi up one day, because he's the sort of man who panics when a woman is crying, Gryffin foolishly promised to let her take him on a flight sometime. These days, she finds it a lot easier to win arguments with him just by threatening to call in that promise. When she can catch him in moments of insecurity, away from his arrogance, she likes him quite a bit.

Katryn, Tandi's flight instructor, is teaching her about mounted and hand to hand combat. Tandi is dexterous but not especially powerful, and so in a fight she relies mostly on her speed and her precognative gift which grants her a 'danger sense.' For the moment it works more effectively on the Tamyr than on mundane enemies but she is slowly learning to bend it to her advantage in other situations. Kora the cleric is helping her to refine it.

The northern cultures are conservative and women are expected to dress in a feminine fashion. Tandi learned to conform to this expectation and only feels comfortable in pants as part of her uniform, which she is most often seen in. Casually, she wears long skirts and dresses, and tunics with sleeves. Additionally, she wears beads in her hair and jewellery which are semiprecious stones and metals. Unmarried girls in her village wore these things as a proclaimation of status and indicated the size of dowry that was attached to them. This practice is not known in the south, but she keeps her adornments as a means to remember her family by.
She also wears a beaded strand on her left side.

History:
Katryn is a flight instructor as well as a day scout in partnership with her kreelin, Blazewing. Together they battle the elemental darkness called the Tamyr. Katryn is lively and hot tempered, obeys whims and impulses, and lives life with passion and authority. Very little intimidates her, and she is looked up to by most of her students. Her confidence has a habit of rubbing off on them. Her favorite things are play fighting, real fighting, energetic dancing, (especially with a cute partner,) and of course flying as high and as fast as possible. She has been in charge of Tandi's education and is trying to teach her to have more backbone. She worries about her students and how they will fare in the field, and so she hides very little of the brutal truth from them, and is angry and tough when they behave stupidly or refuse to learn something. She doesn't do it to be mean, but she's also not worried about seeming that way.

After years in the field Katryn has a lot of experience fighting the Tamyr and plenty of inner and outer scars to show for it. Although she normally sticks to wearing her uniform, wearing skin-baring outfits does not embarass her. She's proud of the marks she has earned for surviving battles. She also has a red tattoo on the left side of her face, signifying her status as a solar patrolman.

Katryn has relationships with a lot of men but none have lasted very long, mostly due to her mercurial nature. She's still looking for the right one, but enjoying the fun of the search along the way. If she's lonely, no one has ever heard her admit it.

I'm too lazy to find all my DA reference picture links, so here is the collection of them over at Photobucket, which includes what I have drawn and what other people have drawn for me. Race: Amoori
Age: 35
Height: Six feet two inches
Skintone: Pale
Eyes: Green with blue
Hair: Dark blue-black and curly. She usually wears it up, held by a gold traditional headpiece.

History: Kora is a cleric sorceress, one of the gifted beings that keep the kreelin as effective as they are. Magical artifacts, (daggers,) are required to make the kreelin 'grow' to an aggressive, ridable size temporarily. As long as the artifact keyed to a rider's kreelin is energized, the kreelin can be changed back and forth. But clerics like Kora are required to keep them energized. Constant use makes them wear out very quickly.

For the most part Kora can handle her job, which she was required for after her gift surfaced. This didn't occur until she had served several years as a rider. (Hence Brightmist, her kreelin. Most clerics do not attract one, as they are meant for fighters.) She tends to get cranky with kingdom politics however, which she was thrown in the midst of once she came into her power. Since the kreelin are instrumental to the survival of the kingdoms, clerics tend to be important beings and forced into unpleasant things like politics. Kora is a tactful person, and isn't horrible at being a public figure, but neither is she stellar at it and she'd really rather that she didn't have to bother with it at all. More than anything she would rather have kept her rider career, but she understands that gifts must be used, and that the riders need clerics to continue doing their work.

Her facial tattoo on the left side is a remenant of her rider days as a lunar scout. She also has symetrical ear tattoos added later. Most of the time you wont see her out of robes, but occasionally she breaks the rules and leaves the Red Palace for a ride with Brightmist, in which case she likes to don her old uniform. (It looks very similar to Tandi's.) Kora often retreats up the cliffs for days at a time. Meditation and communion with the sky calms her spirit and briefly brings her the inner peace required to walk a life path she is not content with. Then again, the ease and joy with which she slips through the veils of the unnatural world are the very reason she finds herself within the clerical ranks.

Kora's cliff retreat is her most deeply guarded secret. She has shared it only once, to help ease the pain of a student struggling with a difficult Gift.

Tameron
Race: Elf
Age: 27
Height: Five feet ten inches
Skintone: Tanned
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blond, tied back in a short tail. When he remembers that it's getting long he'll take a knife and slice off the tail, which is why he usually seems to have long bangs that won't tie back any further.

History: Tam belongs to the nation of Embersil. He began life in a small forest village but became a city child when war broke out near his settlement. One of many children to be taken to the capital city for their safety only to fall through the cracks, Tam ran wild for many years as a thieving street urchin. In a chance meeting, his rudimentary beginnings in stealth put him under the eye of the imperial spy master. Soon afterwards he was whisked away to be trained in the espionage game. By the time he reached his early twenties the master had appointed him as a lieutenant, garnering him various assignments from skill testing to painfully dull. He is about as trusted by his master as anyone can be in the spy profession.

Tameron is a fighter built more for speed and stealth; he has learned to go unnoticed until the last possible moment. Honour in battle is not a huge concern for him, and he'll use every dirty trick he knows to get a job done. Deception, lies and subterfuge are likewise not a burden on his conscience. Strangers see him as cruel, but he cares deeply for the very few friends he has, even if he doesn't have the luxury of trusting them.

Those throughout the capital who know what he is tend to avoid him, and in his line of work he gets used to being mistrusted, insulted and lied to. In turn, Tameron is wary of others and has taken on a very dry, sarcastic demeanor. Inside he can be sweet and protective, but he would prefer it if that didn't get out. Bad for business.

Physically, Tam is blond and blue eyed with a medium tan and a slim, wiry build. He wears a lot of earth tones and dark clothing, and prefers to have many pockets, most of which are concealed. He cleans up well and dresses formally under the public eye of Embersil Palace. In private, or on assignment, he has a variety of outfits and disguises which have little in common except for an easy range of movement. Tam doesn't like to be constricted, or to wear any loose clothing that could be grabbed. He hardly ever wears jewelery for the same reason.

His current predicament takes him away from the capital city. In the far south of Embersil, near Tameron's old home, there is a wall of fog that kills any who breathe it in for more than a few moments. Behind that wall is said to be the remains of Embersil's ancient rival, Estora. A thousand years ago the wall was raised to cut off the two warring countries. The only thing to travel through it since that time are corpses. Some that lay still, and some that do not. It is widely believed that all within Estora have perished, earning it it's title: Nation of the Dead.

Tameron finds himself investigating the area after news of increasing undead attacks reaches the capital. While patrolling a river-fed lake near the very border of the wall, Tam spots a raft bearing a mysterious body. It floats out of the mist to alight on Embersil's shore. The woman on the raft shows no sign of decay; barring lack of breath or heartbeat she could merely be sleeping. Tam searches for clues of her identity and finds a strange hinged pendant around her neck. He is caught flatfooted when opening it releases an intense magical burst. The woman breathes deeply, wobbles upright with an expression of awe, and soon Tam is plunged into a plot far more serious than the latest border dispute...

I'm too lazy to find all my DA reference picture links, so here is the collection of them over at Photobucket, which includes what I have drawn and what other people have drawn for me. She wears it long down her back, or in a braid.

History: Myre was born in the nation of Estora, a continent sealed off from the rest of the world long ago by a bank of deadly magical fog. Within its borders is great unrest; Estora's King is lazy and inept, and for the last decade he has allowed his country to fall into disrepair. Working to undo the damage is a priest of the Red Guard with a beautiful vision of harmony and tranquility for the future. Although he is young, High Lord Aygarn has risen through the ranks of his order, gathering to himself fiercely loyal friends and eventually an army. Although the King still holds title to the lands, they are steadily being shaped to Aygarn's vision. Many oppose what they see as brutally restrictive control by the Red Guard, while others fear the neglect of rule under the King.

It is in this political climate that Myre is raised. All children in Estora are tested for magical talent when they are young, and upon submission to this testing it is found that she is strongly attuned to magic. With training, she could be a powerful sorceress. She is removed from her household, a customary action, and given a new identity at Kaisha Mage Tower.

Her life at Kaisha was untroubled to begin with. She picked up spells and rituals with an ease that surprised her teachers and sent her forward in academic leaps and bounds. It wasn't until much later that her primary instructors began to realize that, while she was executing her spells with the desired effect, her method of accessing magic was unlike that of regular mages. Her spell casting was abnormal, reaching into everything around her with no intermediation of words and ritual objects, as was the known way.

News of Kaisha's anomalous student eventually reaches High Lord Aygarn, by this time more solidified in his power base. Aygarn has established a stronghold and has been collecting noteworthy individuals to help him further his visions. He sends an escort to invite Myre to his side, and once there, his charisma impresses her immensely. She follows him loyally and unquestioningly for years, and he finds further and further uses for her particular magical talents.

Unsurprisingly, Aygarn is not the kind and sympathetic leader he appears to be in public. The day Myre learns of the dark methods he has secretly utilized to execute his plans, she's horrified. She is especially shattered to learn that he has been using her magic to create terrible, destructive creatures. Myre discovers his plan to send the monsters through the mist and infiltrate Embersil, their ancient rival nation, once he has consolidated control of Estora. Mired in guilt, she cannot abide her involvement silently, and vanishes from the stronghold on a journey to find a way through the death fog to warn Embersil.

I'm too lazy to find all my DA reference picture links, so here is the collection of them over at Photobucket, which includes what I have drawn and what other people have drawn for me.
War'ravarl
Race: Wieren
Age: 20
Height: Five feet six inches
Skintone: Lightly tanned
Eyes: Yellow
Hair: Long, straight and silvery grey. He has long bangs, with a white stripe in the left one.

History: War comes from a race of creatures known as the Wieren. Thousands of years ago, when the morals of magic were less explored, high wizards created the Wieren from wolves, and taught them how to assume the form of men. Wieren are far larger than natural wolves, and maintain their intelligence in creature form. They have a small access to the magical arts which they use mostly to speak without changing into men (a form they dislike assuming for long) and for sensing changes in the magic around them.
The Wieren are considered the success of that line of experimentation.

They were made in opposition to the Wiral, the failures. Wiral are men that were made to become wolves, but without the benefits of magic the Wieren were able to obtain. They have no means to change back, and the prison of their new bodies, coupled with their knowledge of what they had been, drove them mad. They are jealous of the Wieren and their abilities, and when the wizards controlling them were eventually killed, the Wiral's purpose became the extinction of their hated brethren.

War'ravarl grew up with this conflict although the hatred has raged for so long that both sides have forgotten it's true beginings. His home, the Devandra Woods, is a place that remains mostly safe to Wieren. He was eventually called away from the woods by his interest in magic and met Myre, becoming her guardian as many Wieren have for young mages over the years. It is after all what they were created for, and instinct is hard to deny.

Like the beasts they were created from, Wieren are social creatures, and War'ravarl is no exception. He is happiest when he is surrounded by friends or family members, playing games or hunting together. He loves to run and test the limits of his body, and has a weakness for small furry mammals, which he chases at every possible opportunity. He has a teasing, fun loving, half feral personality. He'll do anything once if it seems fun, and loves trouble making and flirting.

As a wolf, War is large and dark grey with a white stripe down his nose. In man form his hair is still grey with a white stripe on the left side, and his eyes remain a feral yellow. Embarrassingly, War'ravarl was never able to get the change exactly right, and has yet to be able to make his tail disappear. He has to hide it in crowds as people fear his kind, and he's teased mercilessly about it.

I'm too lazy to find all my DA reference picture links, so here is the collection of them over at Photobucket, which includes what I have drawn and what other people have drawn for me. She wears it in a bun or otherwise tied back.

History: Ayelle was raised by her father, leader of an elite cadre of fighters, feared throughout the nation of Estora for their stealth and precision. These fighters have been trained by her ancestors for centuries and were traditionally bounty hunters who tracked magical items and people. However in recent times their purpose has been subverted by High Lord Aygarn, a fanatic who uses them as his own personal assassin clan in his quest to control Estora and eventually it's rival neighbor Embersil. Aygarn has Ayelle's father pinned under his thumb by means unknown to her and she carries a deep hatred for the High Lord.

Her services are requisitioned when Myrashana, one of Aygarn's hand picked mages, dissapears from his stronghold. Aygarn fears that the girl has been taken to be used against him. He values Myre's skills greatly and wants her returned alive. Ayelle is considered quite a skilled hunter by her clan, and is also easily blackmailed due to her affection for her father. She is sent to track and retrieve the lost mage.

Ayelle is clever and ruthless, and possesses a startling variety of knives and curved weapons with which she is quite practiced. Fair play and honour are not high on her list of priorities, and her methods are often brutal with no effect to her conscience. Her heart is poisoned by hate for Aygarn, and she dreams of the day she can put a knife in his back and free her father. Ayelle's only other loyalty is to her hunter clan; everyone else is fair game. Her deepest secret is also the most guarded treasure of her clan: a magical tattoo on her back, entrusted to the clan and still kept from Aygarn's knowledge. The tattoo has attached itself to the firstborn in her family line, passing from parent to child in the womb, over a thousand years. It was placed by the very mages who raised a death fog between the warring nations of Estora and Embersil, and it is the key to passing through the fog unharmed.

I'm too lazy to find all my DA reference picture links, so here is the collection of them over at Photobucket, which includes what I have drawn and what other people have drawn for me.
Delrai
Race: Human
Age: 27
Height: Five feet seven inches
Skintone: Tanned
Eyes: Green with brown
Hair: Dark brown, shoulder blade length. Wears it with bangs, and keeps it tied in a braid.

History: Delrai comes from a very large family of scientists, but science was never a way of life she preferred. When her parents and siblings were busily studying and teaching at the Royal University, Delrai would pretend to go to the library while actually visiting the guardsman barracks for martial training. She always preferred the interaction of body and weapon to being locked up for hours with a book, and sees it as a form of learning even if her family does not.

Her younger half brother Ketsai became the favorite student of the University's top professor of Demonology. The two began to work on a project together, compiling information about demons common and rare. Del's caginess suited the professor, who could see she wanted to get out in the world against her parents wishes that she give up her barbaric tendancies of fighting and swordplay. He offered her a research assistantship; Delrai would go out into the world and explore it, but send back any information she came across having to do with the professor's research. In return he would excuse her absence to her parents as field work of the most scientific type. Her family would be proud, and she would get to do as she liked, travelling and learning on the road.

About a year into her journey she met up with Jaylhe, a young lunar wizard with a secretive past she seemed to be hiding from. Jaylhe uses illusionist magic to disguise herself as an elf, making her appear paler and sharper and a bit unworldly. The caravan theywere both traveling with was attacked and the two were forced to work together to escape, and eventually to defeat their attackers when persued. Stuck alone in the middle of nowhere, they travel together for safety, and realize they work very well together. Delrai in particular realizes how much money they could make working in tandem on all sorts of jobs that require fighting skill and arcane knowledge. This begins a lucrative and mutually beneficial partnership.

Del has been attempting to dissuade Jaylhe from using her illusionary disguise, but Jaylhe still reverts to it now and then when she's feeling insecure. Delrai is extremely tightfisted about money and possessions, while Jaylhe is a bit of an impulse buyer of talismans and pretty objects. She also has been known to waste available funds in bars. Money is their main point of contention and otherwise they get along and work together well.

Neither one has settled down with any particular men. Since her brother Ketsai took to the road adventuring, Delrai has had the chance to meet his friend Etain, whom he travels with. Both Del and Etain are highly competitive people, and Etain once boasted about his skill for finding a girl to fall for him in every town he visits. Delrai figures she can outdo him and has been terrorizing menfolk in rural villages ever since. Etain finds this highly unfair, citing that men are easier to seduce than women, but also likes a challenge. The two have no romantic interest in one another but thoroughly enjoy their oneupmanship every time they meet.

I'm too lazy to find all my DA reference picture links, so here is the collection of them over at Photobucket, which includes what I have drawn and what other people have drawn for me. Often half tied back or in a bun.

History: Jaylhe began her life in a rural village and lived in a small cottage with her mother, (a hedgewitch,) and her older brother. Jaylhe never knew her father, who died before she was born, leaving the family stuggling. When Jaylhe was nine and her brother was twelve, their mother gave the two of them up to the state. It was a fairly common way of passing along children in their kingdom when parents could no longer support them. The siblings were given room and board in the capital with other children in similar situations. They were expected to be trained as servants and work for their keep. They were not treated badly, but the days were long and often lonely. Neither child understood why they had been given up. Although they knew they lived thinly, they were unaware that the financial situation had been so bad. Jaylhe became withdrawn and depressed by the betrayal, while her brother Sedrin grew hard and angry. He was well on his way to becoming a bully and a brute within the first few months, and the other children in their dorm learned to fear his moods.

A year into their service, Sedrin's fighting got him selected for martial training as a guard. He was taken to the guards barracks to become a trainee, where he was introduced to boys from a wide range of stations in life. Low born children came to become guards and high born children came to learn swordsmanship from the more skilled instructors. Sedrin began integrating himself with the noble sons right away, seeing the potential of having friends in high places. Jaylhe had never gotten along her bullying brother, but she missed him when he was gone; he was the only family she had left. She spent another year working with the servants, keeping herself apart, too shy to make new friendships. The older servants began to notice strange things happen around her. Winds would stir in corridors without windows or known drafts. Torches would flare up when she was fearful. Bowls and glasses containing water would overflow when she was upset. To the adults, these were recognizable signs of a budding mage talent.

Jaylhe was quickly shipped off to the city's Lunar Wizard's cloister, before her power became strong enough to manifest dangerously. The wizards of the cloister worked their magic through the guidance of the goddess of the moon, whose power manifested in the form of wind and water, illusion and premonition. Jay's years as an apprentice there were the happiest of her life. The elemental magics of the moon came easily to her, and she was a talented and favorite student. Finding herself at last in a caring environment, she grew less withdrawn and relearned how to have fun. Her skills with illusion magic made her a fearsome practical joker. She also gained in reputation as a strong diviner.

When Jay reached journeyman level her brother appeared unexpectedly back into her life. Sedrin was by then an accomplished fighter with many noble sons as friends. He had become the bodyguard of one particularly conniving young man. The small band of nobles had political designs of a devious nature, and to implement their plans, they needed information on their targets which was hard to come by. They had heard of Jaylhe's talents with divination and meant to put her to use. She heard nothing about this at first, of course. Sedrin introduced her to the man he was working for, Versain, who was attractive and charismatic. Versain had her wrapped around his finger before any hint of his plan came out, and when it did, he made it sound as though she would be helping uncover a nefarious plot, not furthering one.

Jay agreed to help under these false pretenses, and the group would probably have succeeded in their deeds had an intervention not occurred. Jaylhe was doing a divination in private in the Lunar cloister one night. She did not receive the images she had been expecting to divine. Instead, the goddess of the moon sent her images of the true faces of her brother and Versain. Horrified by what she had done, Jaylhe confided in her master wizards, who moved swiftly to subvert Versain's plot. Through clever trickery he could not be arrested outright, and Jaylhe was afraid of what he would do to her for ruining his scheme. She left the city wearing the illusionary face of an elf, choosing to continue her journeyman's study abroad until she felt stronger.

On her journey she met a female sword fighter named Delrai. The caravan they were both traveling with was attacked and the two were forced to work together to escape.
Etain
Race: Elven
Age: 52 (Apparent age and maturity: mid-twenties)
Height: six feet one inch
Skintone: Tanned
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blue, shoulder blade length, half tied back out of his face.

History: Etain comes from an elven village deep in the south of the continent. His father was a blademaster, and Etain idolized him fiercely. He began to train with him at a young age, and grew up with a head full of heroic tales and ballads.

Their home village was on the road towards a main elven stronghold. A demonic warlord had set his eye on the stronghold and overran Etain's village on the way to it. Both of Etain's parents fought in the battle to turn him back, but were killed in the struggle, as were nearly all the village's fighters. As he continued on his way, the warlord cursed the civilians of the village with death, and rode on relentlessly. His magical curse felled most of the noncombatants, but a handful survived, including Etain. He awakened nearly a month after the attack in a strange bed, attended by priests. The worst of the curse had been removed from him, but a part of it remained. To this day it attacks him at random, giving him spectacular, debilitating headaches. He wears a managem on his forehead at all times which staves off some of the force of the attacks. Without it they would knock him out completely, whereas with it he can still push on, although painfully.

The warlord who destroyed his home was banished when it reached the elven stronghold, but remains in the mortal realm, weakened but alive. Etain has sworn to find and defeat it. When it is dead, his home will be avenged and his curse will lift. Though the world seems determined to beat him down, Etain remains buoyant and optimistic. He was after all raised on tales of heroes, and he has an undying belief that heroes always win out in the end. He sees himself as one and so he knows he will not fail, even if the road is hard.

In his journeys he met Ketsai, a half elf wizard who is compiling an encyclopedia about demons. Ketsai often does not notice any danger he might be in while he's taking notes or collecting samples. Etain was very willing to hire himself along on the journey, if it gave him an excuse to fight demons and make a name for himself. The two have been traveling together ever since, and have become good friends, (even though Ketsai has an annoying habit of forgetting to help Etain when he gets into too much danger to solve with his sword.)

Later they are joined by Liusaidh, a lunar priestess Etain has designs on.

Ketsai
Race: Half-elf
Age: 24
Height: five feet seven inches
Skintone: Lightly tanned
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown and curly, not quite shoulder length

History: Ketsai comes from a very large family. His father, an elf, married a human woman who already had several children of her own, and together they produced many more, starting with Ketsai. Both parents and their children have a definite leaning towards scientific pursuits (except for their daughter Delrai, the black sheep of the family.) Their family home is close to the largest university in the kingdom, and both parents are faculty there. Ketsai practically grew up in the library, cultivating a voracious appetite for books and knowledge. He is interested in anything and everything about the world, and is constantly distracted by it. Eventually he was lured into the department of Demonology by it's head professor, who made Ketsai his favorite apprentice. The professor was working on a great undertaking of collected knowledge: the Encyclopedia Demonica. Together they bled the university library of all it's demon related text, compiling information about species, powers, affiliations, and biology.

Eventually Ketsai's sister Delrai was recruited to the cause. She had been looking for an excuse to escape into the world, but their parents were leery of her interest in swordsmanship and 'barbaric' martial skills. Under the guise of preforming field work for the university, Delrai was finally able to go adventuring, promising to send back all the information on demons she ran across.

Years later the professor decided that Ketsai had reached a journeyman's level of study, and that he should go out and do research of his own to greatly add to the encyclopedia. (Delrai's information, though helpful, was less than scientific in it's approach and recording.) Ketsai set out into the world, happily exploring every aspect of it, often becoming distracted for days by this or that animal or plant.

It was on one of his first encounters with a real demon that he met Etain, a young elven sword fighter, who seemed to think that Ketsai might need some help in his venture. He may have been right -- Ketsai often does not notice any danger he might be in while he's taking notes or collecting samples. Etain seemed very willing to hire himself along on the journey, if it gave him an excuse to fight demons and make a name for himself. The two have been traveling together ever since, and have become good friends, (even though Ketsai has an annoying habit of forgetting to help Etain when he gets into too much danger to solve with his sword.)

Ketsai is a wizard with a specialty in the summoning of various types of demons, elementals, and other magical creatures. He even has a couple of devoted air spirits who follow him, and so he is commonly seen surrounded by floating books when he is deep in research mode. He often forgets he has the option to use magic at all when he's in the middle of something, and uses it so seldom as a result that Etain is always surprised when Ketsai finally does lend a hand in defeating creatures. The scholarly young man is really quite skilled when it occurs to him to apply the knowledge he's been collecting diligently in his head, and results are often explosive.

Understanding every aspect of the world is the great passion of his life, and so unlike Etain, he has very little interest in pursuing girls in the short term or for long relationships. He doesn't often take an interest in individual people when there's so much else to look at. That said, it has been noticed that every time he and Etain run into Ketsai's sister, Ketsai spends the majority of his time talking to Delrai's adventuring partner Jaylhe. No one is really sure if there's anything going on there, the two seem equally oblivious to any interest on each other's part.
She wears it loose with two locks tied in front.

History: Liusaidh was born in an elven town close to a large chapter of Lunar priests. She admired their work as a young child and wanted to learn the healing arts. She was raised in a healthy but sheltered environment. The only cruelty she experienced in her young life was through stories of far away places, and she felt that as a healer, she could soothe this world. As soon as she was old enough for apprenticeship, she convinced her parents to allow her to go to the temple. Liusaidh was a dilligent student and placed complete faith in the moon goddess, devoting her life as a priestess.

She lived in comfort for many years, learning quietly, until she and a contingent of priests were sent out on an assignment further away than she had ever been from home. An older priestess had seen a vision of a village in danger many weeks away, and Liusaidh was one of several clever women and men selected to assist the village. After a hard journey, they arrived to find it ravaged by demons, and although they fought bravely they were eventually captured. The demon lord who had moved into the village killed the strongest members and kept the younger priests to work for him, fitting them with enchanted rings that held them in thrall.

Liusaidh served in this way for months until helped arrived. Etain and Ketsai heard word of the demon held village, and insinuated themselves inside as a means to collect research for Ketsai's Encyclopedia Demonica. Once they got a look at the situation, Etain's inability to resist a damsel in distress kicked into high gear and a rescue was staged.

After being escorted home, Liusaidh and her fellows reported their experience. She felt her debt keenly, however, and offered Etain and Ketsai her services in their work. Their lives are undoubtedly improved by her skills in healing and sensing types of evil. Her life is less improved by being stuck with Etain, who dogs after her relentlessly, convinced he can win her over with his charm and good looks.

Liusaidh is a steady, serious person who is still a little naive but gaining world experience rapidly. She is conservative and careful, and likes to think that she is very patient. (In Etain's case, this is not so anymore.). Loyalty binds her strongly to her friends and her goddess. She's an honourable sort who is offended by lies and bad manners, and not afraid to tell you so.

I'm too lazy to find all my DA reference picture links, so here is the collection of them over at Photobucket, which includes what I have drawn and what other people have drawn for me.
