Things that have happened since my last actual journal:

- Got my BA in digital art but dropped out of Hons.
- Ran out of space for new purchases on my dvd shelf. Annoying but cost effective.
- Got a twitter (username: narrated)
- Bungee'd. [link]
- Bought my first art. "I hung it on me wall".
- Saw Fratellis live.again.
- Moved out of my flat. Miss the company but not the smell.
- Found a new flat that I can't afford so each month my OD grows deeper and deeper.
- Went to Paris, saw some amazing art, sights and ate great food.
- Went to Disneyland Paris where I was abused by Stitch, TWICE!
- Saw Editors live and met them.
- Was the first person in Scotland to book Avatar IMAX tickets.
- Saw Simon Amstell live.

I'd complain about being poor, not having a well paid job and turning old this year but, it's actually been pretty productive so far.

Now we have a shiny new HD americanised toy advert.

nah, The good news.

Because the level design is linear and the environments are restricted, capcom have concentrated on the detail. As a result, the game is stunning. From expressions to tiny pours and imperfections on the skin the character animation is especially superb. The Co-OP is probably the best addition to the gameplay. I've played it with Sheva as a NPC and its got nothing on having someone to communicate with through the constant battles, bosses and ' puzzles '. Also the return of the Licker is danson, it looks amazing and tugs the old school nostalgia more than thundercats and hungry hungry hippos combined!

The bad news.

It borrows alot from Gears of War in terms of gameplay with ducking behind objects during combat. This only comes about when 'zombies' start picking up guns which is also really tedious. It also borrows alot from Metal Gear Solid in terms of narrative with respect to Jill Valentines return. They had this oppertunity to bring back so many characters with this. Theres a character, Irvine who could easily be Stevie and why not? He died but who hasn't in this crazy mixed up resi world. Birkin's the main antagonist in this one and he left Code Veronica with Stevie's mutated DNA so it's fesable.

In summation it's good. Really good. It works well as a sequel/origin story. It IS a shame they don't make Resi like they used to. Dead Space has shown us that the format still works but I do understand this 'action-terror' appeals more to the masses than survival horror and they did a decent job. Resi4 relaunched and revolutionised the franchise and this doesnt fall far from that tree so at times 5 does just seem like its older brother vomitted in NextGen but.... I'm ok with it.

It's saturday and 'hazzah for the shopkeep' I'm not working. I am however, a little bit tired and my body still feels like it hasn't quite processed all the alcohol out of my system from the helium baloon inhaling, white guy dancing, staged arguement starting, drunken antics of yester-eve. 7.30AM - I awake. 1 Hellboy 2 viewing, 1 completed Amiga classic, 1 thirteen hour shift and one funny conversation about being born with a disability giving you absolutely no sense of balance later and my saturday is over.

So, here then is a spoiler free hellboy2 review.
It's good.the end. Abe returns but not David Hyde Pearce, gutted. still, joining the cast is Peter Griffin as an ectoplasm german stereotype.swish. This is Del Toro's film, since the success of Pan's Labrynth the studios basically let him do... what it is he does which is the tits. Like PL its visually stunning unlike PL its also blended with fair budget gloss, a typically decent Danny Elfman score and, it's funny (the bit wi the baby and the tumor). Theres alot of CG but also Puppet work, almost to the point of paying tribute to stuff like Dark Crystal. Also touches on deep themes like the need for acceptance of the people he ironcially fights for (ironic because it's his fate to destroy the known world) and inevitable rejection, heavily in parts. I liked the first one "flawed but fun", this is niether. It's out friday, y'all should go see it.

also: apologies for not keeping up wi deviations and such. Been working like a whores pocket at the weekend. Cheers to =Veggie-BurgerQueen for the undeserved subscription. Also =Em-j-akahana got my 2,000 pageview so my next drawing will be of her character. When I have time.

Usually, in our 'blog' generation you get little tossers who, (when they're not watching One Tree Hill telling them how hard high school is - yeah, because your standard grades are really the peak of life, after that its a gravy train with... biscuit wheels?) rant on about how they hate the world and everything in it is an abortion of what happiness should be. which is true but making the point to turn it into such a drama only adds to it... i realise only too late i just completely contradicted myself, what a pisser, if only there was some magical way to go back and delete the text, oh well.

sup 'dawgs'. whats new in the world of michael i hear you call? well, well, well...

1. had a pretty long weekend (thurs-mon) which was tedious at best due to the constant mind haze that is the (to quote mckend) ' paint thinner' known as glen's vodka which was pretty much consumed on the hour, every hour. swear - im not drinkin again till at least, lunch time and when i do it won't be (to quote michael) 'the blood of judas... aka nelly fertardo'. as a result of said drinkin + the damp in my flat (which suffers from learning disabilities) i have developed A.I.D.S.... that or, y'know a throat infection. crappy ineffective body, 'you'd think we'd have invented something more reliable by now'.

2. for all you lost enthusiasts, you may or may not be aware of the lost 'mobisodes', 13odd, 2min fillers that on the most part only serve as character development and to keep you in a semi-state of arousal between season 3+4, that said the last one does drop a bombshell on you i think y'all should see so [link] - nothin is what it seems and all that bollocks but i've been told it links to the revelation of jacob? who knows, not i forsureforsure.

anyway, my appeal for uni money to get a new laptop + graphics tab wa rejected so i've 150quid to stretch on that, how the muff im gonna manage it i have no idea.

OI OI. merry jesusmas ya wacky beatles. at the risk of sound grinchish this is a pretty piss poor time of year fer me but funk it, least two good things have come of pretending i want to be where i am and my dog isnt about to die.

1. I AM LEGEND - never going to go down in history as on of the great classics you say? well swing from my massive sack pesimistic fools because although that statement may be true it doesnt dispute that the film is freaking awesome like a posom and as such should be praised by you all.
2. ZERO PUNCTUATION - online semi (teeheehee) animated game reviews to be found on the escapist website or youtube, they tickle your senses and the guy behind them is nothin short of modern day Henry Winkler, if you havnt already, slap yourself and go see them both N0W.
