The following is copied in full from my blog, in regard to Bush today vetoing a bipartisan bill that would actually allow more children to have access to health care. The David Horsey cartoon in question can be found at [link]

This David Horsey cartoon is the perfect illustration about why I despise George Bush so much and why I think he is a horrible president, who really needs to rethink his priorities. We all knew he was going to veto a bipartisan bill that was put before them that would have expanded health care insurance for children by raising taxes on tobacco products. And we all know just how rare a bipartisan anything is in Washington, other than bought and paid for politicians. I thought that helping children, keeping them safe and healthy, making sure they have access to doctors and medical care was a good thing. Apparently, George Bush does not think so. Apparently, George Bush only cares about keeping the tobacco lobby safe and healthy. Of course, George Bush is rich and was able to afford health insurance for his daughters when they were growing up. I guess he really does not give a damn about any other family who cannot. So much for "Compassionate Conservatism."

I really cannot wait until Bush is out of office.

I am officially pissed as hell. I have always known the system is corrupt; controlled by rich white men for the benefit of rich white men and their corporate masters, who hold the two political parties in the palms of their greasy little hands. The extent to which this is true continues to alarm me, if not amaze me. Below is a link to an article about the 2004 Presidential Election, which I found a little while ago. It is one that I think anyone and everyone should read, no matter their political beliefs. It is quite extensive and heavily researched, and like any good scholarly work should, it also includes a thoroughly detailed and robust bibliography, so that those who read it can double check the facts the article presents. Just imagine: If such a thing as what the article is about is true, and can so easily happen, and at the hands of either political party, and without the American people giving a shit about it, then our Republic is truly lost.

It has now officially been three years since the invasion of Iraq. An invasion, it must be pointed out, that was launched based upon faulty and doctored intelligence. Since then, tens of thousands of Iraqis have died, as well as hundreds of people from other countries. And since then, over 2,300 brave Americans have died for a cause forced on them by their imperialist leader, and all because he wanted to play at empire. 2,300. That is 2,300 of my fellow citizens who made the valiant choice to sacrifice their own personal freedom to maintain the freedom of this country. Very few of us would be so willing to do so. These 2,300 people are deserving of the highest honors, the greatest praise that we, as a nation, as a people, can bestow upon them. George W. Bush, however, is not deserving of any honor or respect. Nor do his lackeys and alleys and friends, the bloodsucking fiends who sit behind desks and make proud speeches and do not need to worry about bombs and guns and bullets. George W. Bush and his ilk are deserving only of contempt and outrage and pure anger. These are the war-mongers who govern the war machine, who control it, who profit from it. If not for George W. Bush, and those like him, these 2,300 Americans would still now be alive. But Bush and his Neo-Con friends have taken them from us. And we are all the worst for this loss.
Remember always...
Honor the soldier, those who fight and kill and die.
And never the leader who sends them to do so.

Just to clear up any confusion (pun not intended)....
I have a picture in my gallery called "Confusion" and I have a poem called "Confusion Poem". The reason for this is simple......Although the poem is actually called "Confusion" and is much older than the picture, when I submitted it the Deviantart submitter informed me I already had a deviation by that name. Thus, I added the word "poem" to differentiate between the two.

My latest favorite

So I found that wallpaper of Alyson Hannigan you see there to the left. I love Alyson Hannigan. I think she is one of the most underrated and most talented actresses working today. She can play any kind of character with ease. My issue is this....after I added that wallpaper to my favorites list, if one were to click upon it, one would receive a 404 error message. Strange. Does this happen with deviations often??

I am supposed to be working on this paper that is due tomorrow, first thing, in my medical sociology course. It is a simple paper. Not very long. Only 3-4 pages. And I just cannot get into it. This rather, as they say in the modern tongue, sucks. I finished my other paper which is also due tomorrow on Functionalism today with no issues. I suppose it could just be seniorism rearing its head once more. Who knows.

Blah

Being home sick definitely sucks. I guess I have fallen out of the habit of being home sick. I was sick pretty much all the time as a child, but as I grew older that was not the case. The really bad bit is I am in my last semester, and this is an annoyance I need not. Oh well. Hey, at least I can actually post something else to my very small gallery, hey?

Oh, and congrats to the Pats.

Submitting my work.

As I am sitting here, trying to figure out what I would like to submit next, I have this little voice buzzing about in my head, pointing out one bit or another, and making it rather difficult to decide. I have a very large repertoire of poems I have written throughout the years, something in excess of 300. The issue is, I have only gotten around to typing up a few dozen of them, all of them many moons old. Ah well. I shall sort it out.

I am curious on how my poetry is being received at the Land of the Deviantart. Anyone have an opinion?
