Bug Test Deviation

Just the other day I was testing a particular bug that involved editing deviations resulting in message center issues. I'm sure some of you saw it

I use this particular photo often when testing bugs with deviations because well

they are bugs right! I consider them my bug test assistants

Well unfortunately some people are quite disturbed by my little silkworm caterpillar friends

I thought the deviation below would be perfect but alas I think it's probably more disturbing than the original Bug Test Deviation

First off, when most people think of banks.. they think of terror! banks are evil, fee's and hidden agenda's and always out to get you.

not for me!!

I have been with the Bank Of Montreal (ironically i live in Ontario) for a few years now ever since Royal Bank of Canada screwed me over then just deleted my bank account (no money lost, they ate my debt to them and just said w/e)

This bank has been awesome.. and i thought it couldn't get any better. A new branch opened up close to my dads house which is the branch i choose to do ALL my business through. I go to one banker and she is the most amazing person in the world. She got me a brand new chequing account JUST so i could get 3 free cheques that i needed for something. She has always gone above and beyond for me and my father.

beginning of August i decided that since i had 1 more year of college left i should just get the MAX amount of money my bank would give me i had only taken a minimum amount the first year. I figured i could use this money with its awesome interest rate to just get some stuff i needed and take advantage of the payment options. unlike a car loan or a general line of credit.

the negative of that which unaware to me and my banker at the application. They raised the interest from Prime+1% to Prime+2% now for those who have no idea what that means. The prime rate of interest is a dynamic number that can either go up or down. Usually its a fairly low number right now sitting at 2.250%

So when she printed the forums she saw this "error" and later found out it was a change in the student line of credit. it sucked but i needed the extra money so i took it. thinking oh well 1% extra sucks but what ever! she said there was nothing she could do and would just have to accept the interest! i was cool with that and resigned!

about a month and a half later i get a random phone call from my Father. my Banker had been in the last month working her way through different people and finally was able to give me back my old rate of interest. AWESOME!! saves me almost 15 bucks a month in interest payments!! i was very happy with this and did a little dance if i remember.

THEN... if it couldn't get BETTER!

I get a second phone call from my dad, he had got a phone call once again from our banker and she had refunded me the difference from my previous interest payment. (the one i had made at Prime+2%) so the bank GAVE ME BACK MONEY! not only did she get me my previous interest rate.. she got me money back that i had in her mind OVER PAID!

Banks are not evil if you have awesome people working at them. Bank of Montreal has won my business for sure. And when it comes time to get a home mortgage, i will be going through her beacuse i know she is out to make it work for ME!

Protip!! be nice to your banker at every chance you get!! there out to help you!! not to get you!!

PS! im still not feeling 100% i am still getting random abdominal cramps and some other stuff. If it does not clear up by monday i will go to the Doctor..

The more and more i read all the comments about the sharing issue, i feel that a LOT of deviants are miss informed about how sharing works, and how the sharing links function.

The sharing function allows a user a quick link, or a short link for posting a URL of the artwork on various social networking sites. this URL, is the link to the page in which your artwork is displayed. this ONLY SHARES A LINK! a URL, it does not take your artwork and post it on twitter.

BUT WAIT.. Facebook displays an image? Thats facebooks doing. Facebook scans the page and puts a TINY 130x77 thumbnail of your art.

Do you really think THAT is art theft?

In ORDER to download that TINY image, i had to not only use a feature in firefox to view the full URL of the source of that image, i had to manually rename it to a JPG beacuse if i just right clicked save image as. it downloads a PHP file.

This is an example of what is shared on Facebook when you click the little

Now lets pick through and look at all the items. if i click on the picture, i go to the page where i uploaded my art. if i click on the link to my profile. i go to my profile. unchangeable text cites the SOURCE as my profile page. so unless someone wants to PRETEND to be me. if they come to THAT page and BUY my prints. IM GETTING THE MONEY!

I believe that deviantART should of just said OK! what ever we did this, and now its done.

Look at Facebook. They change things all the time and people COMPLAIN! but does Facebook decide that that based on some people complaining they are going to change? NOPE. are the people on facebook still there? YEP!! even the whiny ones who complained.

When it comes to your artwork, the one thing you NEED to know is that IF YOU PUT IT ONLINE. it has the chance of being stolen. there is no way around that. aside from putting a giant ass watermark on it, or password protecting your own secure domain/hosting and only allowing specific people to look at it who you TRUST not to take the picture and put it somewhere.

the ONLY fool proof, never going to get stolen plan is to never put your art online and never show it to ANYONE!!!
oh and make sure to lock it up in a safe so no one can steal it from your home in hard copy format!

The proposed changes to deviantART would allow users to disable sharing TOTALY! as in an ON, or OFF. It would require a user to have to be logged on to view the artwork. This is simply a modifyed version of what happens when people try and view something thats been tagged as mature on deviantART.

I think this change, is going overboard. There are COUNTLESS other features that i would love to see implemented before something like this is worked on. HELLO?! GROUPS, NEW SEARCH, It seems that there is ALWAYS people whining about how deviantART doesnt protect my art, deviantART doesnt do stuff for me.

deviantART does a hell of a lot of stuff for you that you have NO idea.

WHERE else can you host as many pieces of your art as you want, where else can you get comments and opinions from a limitless amount of other artists who also do art like you. WHERE ELSE CAN YOU SELL YOUR PRINTS WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY FOR IT!

deviantART has bent over backwards for you and all you can do it bitch and complain when they implement a feature to allow the art in which YOU THOUGHT GOOD ENOUGH to post online to be shared fairly and easily.

Do you think Tay Zonday got all up in peoples faces when they shared his Chocolate Rain video he posted on youtube all over the internet. LOOK what happened to him. He now has tshirts in Hot topic, he did a commercial with Dr. pepper.

I have said my bit, given my opinion.

Well!

I showed up for a devMEET for once.. It was THE devmeet to be at!

Since i live in Peterborough Ontario, and since i had things to do on saturday and Sunday i went down on Thursday and met up with my dad and drove up to Toronto on friday morning.

First i hung out at sherway gardens until noon when i met up for some lunch with my dad and got a drive over to the devmeet.

The Devmeet! I met up with `sodalicious and started on our longer then we imagined walk to the Cafe when there we met up with the rest of the group and got our name tags from the lovely =mombeam

i found $spyed and $Heidi so i could give them Autographed pictures of the

everyone chatted for a bit, and i got a few videos of the group as it got larger. we then moved towards the giant Canadian Leaf at the bottom of the park. which was down a steeper hill then anyone could imagine. Once the group picture was taken we all split into groups and talked about our respected traits. ^Ghouldaddy showed up a bit late and i almost killed him with some cookies that i brought for the entire devmeet (that case of cookies was heavy)

then as best described by ^Ghouldaddy "$spyed walking over with a huge shit eating grin on his face asking "who wants to see some cool shit?" and off we went..."

And $spyed talked about the new groups system, Search, and portfolios which all makes me feel great being a deviant. I admit i havent been the most active person on this website as of currently but this meet has inspired me to get out more and take pride in being a deviant!

After this ended the groups got smaller and smaller and the people who were left went up to the top of the hill. and im sure most can agree it was a even steeper hill climbing up it! after some food at the cafe we stayed until they kicked us out. we all got to sign some boxers and i put a Llama on it!

a bunch of us including myself ^Ghouldaddy, `sodalicious, $Moonbeam13, $starvingartist, *kilgore-trout, $spyed, $Heidi, `neom, `picard102, =emothemurdok, @DaPineapple, @IaiaRose Went to The Cadillac Lounge which we all drank, ate some snacks and tried to get ~moonbeam to get up and sing some MJ at the Karaoke.

I also got a drink spilled down my side and ice got all over my ass!! and pulled several cubes out and put them in a glass. and if that wasnt enough. I pulled the straw out too!!

Good times!!!

So.. out of the kindness of my heart and my love of my mother. i lent her my Nikon d50 Camera to use for her digital photography class. i gave it to her a week or two early so she could use it and test it and not be a total n00b when classes started..

She had some people over at the house doing work on her drywall and downstairs area's.. and today when i went to go home she asked me where my camera was..

long story short.. we think someone stole it..

Now here is the shitty part. My mom.. she hasnt been doing so well.. Money wise.. so she is very distraut about finding money to pay for my camera.. which she is going to eventualy have to do..

Since i dont plan to just walk away from my camera and take on the money myself.. im 21 years old i dont live with my mother and just like anyone else you lend something to and it happens to gets stolen, lost, or broken they should replace it..

Another issue is Nikon discontinued the D50.. and replaced it with the d40 and d60 which in my opinion both kind of suck..

But yeah.. my scheduled photo shoots for the summer are no longer happening until i get a new camera which may end up being the Nikon d80. since that was the next step up when my camera was new.

oh well...

Introduction

For the past 5 years our very own $Moonbeam13 has been involved in supporting and raising money for The Weekend To End Breast Cancer event in Toronto.

She has done this in a fairly quiet and discreet way so we felt it was time to shed a bit more light on what exactly she does for this great cause.

To give a bit of background, in the past 4 years this organization has raised over 60 million dollars in donations and through this has made some landmark strides in advancing the research on breast cancer, which claims the lives of close to 50,000 women a year and about a quarter million women diagnosed per year.
This money does make a big difference in helping with in depth gene studies and creating specialized programs for people diagnosed with the disease.

The Weekend To End Breast Cancer takes place all across Canada. In Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal, and $Moonbeam13's hometown of Toronto, where for the last 4 years and soon to be 5, she has participated in the 60k walk. ThatÂs 37.28 miles to you Americans.
To participate in the walk, each person must raise $2000 to qualify and that is no easy task in and of itself. As of right now she has raised about 2600 dollars but we think she can do much better than that with the help of a community of 5 million strong!

This year the event takes place September 8th and 9th, so time to help is limited.

So how can can you help? Read on!

Me: Why!! i told you to take them back. why do i need to wear a pair of dress pants with a big huge stitch mark down the front
Father: well i paid for the fix anyway
Me: Would you wear a freaking pair of zombie pants to work! would you?!! no you wouldn't.
Father: well then i will just goddamn throw them out!
Me: yeah then what what the hell will i wear i told you to just take them back and say they were defect and ripped easy!!!

oh my god im so annoyed and pissed off.

last night i was helping someone get there car out of my driveway beacuse aparently they don't know how to NOT go into a snow drift.. and when they backing out and i was pushing i slipped and almost hit my head off the front of the hood but no.. i hit the snow and ripped my brand new dress pants (i had just gotten back from taking someone from a movie)

i told my dad to just take them back since another thing on them had broken already saying it was just a defect pair of pants. hes like alright i will do it tomorrow.

He comes home and is like oh i took your pants to get fixed.. im like what fixed.. the rips not along the seam.. there gonna look all messed up (like ALL my other pants..) i got really pissed off because i wanted to have a pair of pants for once that didn't look like someone made them from pieces of other pants and created them in some zombie fashion..

Call me spoiled if you want but all i know is my dad knows i like to look respectable i love to wear dress shirts and i usually try to dress business casual.. because well yeah when your not good looking you should try to look good and not like a slob.

he doesn't seem to understand that i really hate it when he does these things. and i told him NOT to get them fixed because it makes them look stupid. i could show you some pretty messed up pants that he just goes and gets fixed for the hell of it because he thinks hes doing good.

I dont think this journal will be up for very long this is just a way for me to rant about my problems..

stupid as they may seem...

btw i had a great time at the movie with that girl

[1] I am very much afraid of Seaweed, I do not like it when I can feel it with my feet.

So yeah, first congrats to all the winners of the CSS Journal Contest! you can find info out about that Here.

As for my Toronto adventure, it really wasn't an adventure, but i sure had fun. I got to meet the one and only +suzi9mm she was such a fun person. I can honestly say i had a great time with her and would defiantly hang around her again.

I meet her at the corner of Queen and Spadina in Toronto. and we went right off to lunch and talked for a bit. the Chili was great there by the way i forget the name of the place The Black something. Well yes, then we took a walk down Queen and checked out a few shops and then decided to grab some coffee at Second cup where we spent a good chunk of time just drinking some coffee and having some conversation, me trying not to sound too boring because i can be boring when I'm shy especially around new people. well we stayed there for a hour and a bit and then i decided since we couldn't have our vodka drinking contest due to my own lack of money and the price of shots. i said i would treat her to a shot of vodka at a bar up the street called The Rex. we enjoyed the shot and i ordered a Guinness to wash it down with and just enjoyed the music and talked a bit more until around 7pm i had to get picked up and gone home.

All and all i had a GREAT time, and was very happy to spend some time with someone who i really always thought it would be nice to meet. Thanks for a great time Jenn hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Canada

Also lately i haven't been doing alot of things with my life just doing the norm. ya know.

I Started my own dAmn chatroom its called #Foxycoons and yeah i really like it, pretty fun having your own chatroom.

Ok, now i've been hearing alot of non-subscribed deviants of how they're frustrated that they aren't subscribed in order for them to use CSS in their journals. And I can understand their frustration. So just to help ya guyz out am gonna hold this small little (lol?) contest

Contest Details
The contest is open to only non-subcribers and subcribers whose subs are gonna end pretty soon. The subs that are to be given away are for people who intend to use CSS in their journals.

All you have to do is design a CSS journal for yourself in photoshop or other image-editing software (don't worry about the coding/programming part) and send me (=duhcoolies) a note titled "CSS contest" with a link to your css design (which should be uploaded to your dA gallery). You are allowed to submit a maximum of 2 designs. There'll be more than one winner. Top winners will be chosen and awarded bigger subscriptions

So far 27 runner-ups are eligible to be awarded 3 month subscriptions each.

So YEAH... Fan Expo 2006!

I neglected to write a Journal about this cuse im like LAZY!

It was great saw @Nenimo, ^Ghouldaddy and his lovely partner `sodalicious i then had a indepth conversation with !sirkowski and ran away from ~ArchaicDemon

I bumped into Alice Cooper twice and it was a short but nice conversation.

i killed the 2nd best Halo 2 player in Canada 3 times and I generaly went around and had fun.

Went to see The MOTHERFUCKIN CREEPSHOW! they rocked out loud and hard with special guest Hooch from the MOTHERFUCKIN MATADORS!!

Drank alot fo Beer with my 2 new friends from Australia Luke and Kimberlee

Recently the wonderful Frank aka ^Ghouldaddy sent me a belated birthday present!

and

Definatly AWESOME photographs. and i verymuch enjoy them THANKS FRANK!!

i am doing a Co-op at a computer Cafe, so its very nice to sit around and do nothing but help people with internet crap all day

I am very sad to wake up and find that Steve Irwin, host of Croc Hunter and owner of the Australia Zoo has passed away.

I always will remember watching his shows on television with my dad always cracking jokes about how much he made us laugh with his personality.

Steve Irwin was taken away from us, at the young age of 44. it is a great loss and though i have never met him, nor been to Australia to his zoo. My heart goes out to his family.. especialy his two young children.

Steve.. You will be missed.

I really hope the legacy that he started will not be forgoten with his death, but made stronger.

So yeah, last night i was sitting at my desk minding my own buisness when soemthing fell on my head. i was like O.o im tired its nothing tilts head well something fell off and it was a bat.. I dont know what kind, but it was a bat, i ignored it.. i thaught i was just still very tired and then it hit my desk i was like OK this is it..

So i went and woke my dad up he told me to catch it so i threw on my thick gloves and went and tryed to catch him. man.. this thing took me of a tour of my own house. but after 20 minutes of chasing i finaly got him.. AND HE BIT ME!! the litle bastrd..

Greetings Everyone

Hey, how is it going? its the summer it should be going awesome! i have been having the time of my life. sitting around all day you know just enjoying the time off.

I recently bought an X-Box from a friend for about 10 bucks. I got it fixed and a Modchip in it and i couldnt be happier. it plays like awesomeness and i really am having lots of fun.

On some outgoing notes I went to Toronto for a gallery showing from the one and only ^alchemism
Now talk about awesome, I normaly dont drop everything and head down to Toronto for anything but i couldnt miss this show. it was so much fun, and i really enjoyed seeing so much awesome art. its always nice to see something online but when you think about paintings you really wanna be neer them to be able to see the texture. it was simply divine. and very nice to meet ^alchemism hes an awesome guy and full of incite and love of art. i wish him the best of luck in his artistic career.

Hello my name is Neil, some of you know me as =neo-the-foxycoon . I am a Uber Super deluxe senior high school student in Barrie, Ontario Canada. I attend a great high school called Bear Creek Secondary. I have attended this school since it opened in 2001. _{_{too long..}}

Recently I had heard from one of the art teachers in the school that that the MacLaren Art Centre was having an exhibition to display works of art created by senior students in the Simcoe County District School Board. They estimated that more then 100 students would submit works and that they would be judged and they would select the most remarkable works to display in the art center. This was created to showcase the talent of the local artists. This exhibition will run from may 25th until June 24th 2006

in an 67x54 inch frame O.O;;

I myself was one of the 9 students from Bear Creek Secondary, whose art was accepted into the gallery. My work Larger then Life was to my excitement accepted. This was something that I had hoped for and honestly dreamed about since I had heard about this opportunity.

The amount of work, and dedication it takes to do something like this can be easily overcome by someone who has been working in the profession for years and years. I myself am a high school student. I had never taken the time to print off my photographs in large format, never taken the time to frame something so carefully that I would spend 20 minutes with a ruler on one side making sure it was centered.

As I have found through my experiences when I decided I was going to enter into this was simply to do my best job I could possibly do. I have also found out that when you do not know what youre doing things can get complicated, you need to hold your head up and do your best. Choosing the right size print was one of the biggest challenges, I felt confident leaving that up to the teacher who had informed me of the contest. After she had finished printing the image I had to find a frame for the image. This was a task that was harder then I had thought it would be, after searching high and low for a frame I finally discovered one in the room that I had been preparing my print. From then on in it was just a matter of centering the print on the matte board; I had used black bristol board. I had decided on this since there was not enough time to get real matte board. Spending about an hour and half cutting and centering praying to what ever deity there was watching over me that I would not screw this up it was done.

The sense of accomplishment I felt when I ran my large scale print framed and ready to go out to the car that was headed to the art center to submit the work. That day I even gave up a field trip to go see The Da Vinci Code, but I thought to myself that I appreciate my art more then the chance to get out of classes for one day. After the day was said and done, and I gave cheers to myself and the others who had entered on the great effort we had done to get these things in on time. I went home to enjoy the hard long wait over the weekend until Tuesday when I would find out if I had been accepted into the show.

It had turned out that the art center did not send there faxes out until after school hours so I waited the entire day to no avail. I myself only finding out I had been accepted into the show when I gave the art center a call that night.

In the end, I really hope everyone gets a chance to have there work displayed. It doesnt matter if your work is not displayed in a gallery, it could be at school at a friends house or even on your deviantART account. It just feels good to have your work seen by others. It creates a feeling of mystery not knowing what they think when your not around.

Update at Bottom

Yeah, so i saw Depeche Mode on thursday and it was awesome show very nice.. bad seats i had but meh it was DEPECHE MODE!?! i only cared that i was there

and saw one of my fav bands perform. it was a long day thats fooor..show XD

the day started out with me taking a trip out to The Distillery District in Toronto. and MAN what a wonderful area full of fabulous art gallerys. it was during the Contact Photography festival and man.. i saw alot of great stuff and... zomg right when you walk in the front gates of the district.. there is a bakery.. have there braised lamb sandwich it was heaven and then stop off at the Mill street brewery for some wonderful samples. i must say that was the tastiest beer i have had in along time. the guy even gave me a bar tap.. i was quite impressed at the quality of the beer there.

i took alot of pictures, now that i am thinking i should put them on my computer so i can check and see if there are any deviant worthy pictures.

on friday i wraped up my submissions for the local student art gallery contest at the MacLaren Art Center
i submitted a framed 8x10 and a huge picture. dont know the size but i put it in a frame that was over 50 inches on one side so do the math

I really hope they get into the gallery i would be very impressed and happy

well thats all for today. went to a huge party last night so i am a tad tired and a wee bit hung over but thats another story for another journal

Ok, so i finaly have a job. its part time, and its only when they need me. but i work at a production company called PDK Productions

its mega awesome! on thursday night i got to help out backstage of the Alice Cooper concert at the barrie molson center and MAN was that awesome.. got to see the last 45 min of the show and WOW what a great stage performance.. and what great seats.. we got special off of the left side of the stage seats.. and they were PREMO.. take down went smooth. i found a pick from one of the guitar players. and i got a free tour shirt which my father was very happy to get. when i got home at 3am

on friday my high school hosted the Relay for life at our school. we raised 16-17 thousand dollers and i was one of the Dj's for the entire day i got there at 7am uggh.. me and my friend who was the other Dj both hated our white shirts for relay for life.. so we quickly made them into our own creations cutting out the logo's and the back big Relay for life sign and used pins to put it on our regular dark coloured shirts.. (the tech crew standard) and we also wrote TECH CREW on them to make us look professional heh.. that was one long day but we got to cook some hamburgers on this mini camp bbq.. i was voted best burger chef in the booth and i was happy when i got to go home at 11pm and crash and go to sleep.

and now today, since the Alice Cooper concert happened in a hockey arena. they had to convert it to be a concert hall. i didnt do the first conversion. but i got to do the second conversion and boy did that just start off bad. i had a 5,000 pound cart full of hockey glass roll onto my foot. having not been on this crew very long i had not yet gotten myself a pair of steels.. *CRUNCH* my toes are all swolen but none are broken

after that though it went very well. we got done a bit early and it fun working with the guys and having a great time. fun times.. _{_{stupid whore bitch faced post get into your hole!}}

Good times..

Monster trucks are comin to Barrie and i hope i get to work that it would be awesome. but for now i guess i shoul work on some photos and get them submitted
