The dumb bimbos from my Newswriting and Shorthand classes won't shut up about Twilight. They relate everything to it. They get classes paused to talk about it. WHY IS THIS CONSIDERED ANY GOOD. I ranted at them, pointed out it's bad writing and mysogynistic as well as cliched and unoriginal... and now they despise me. They also decided Lost Souls (my favourite book by Poppy Z Brite- actual modern vampires) is shit "because it has gays and the vampires are nasty". They're also so proud because OMG THEY READ A WHOLE BOOK... they're journalism students. Reading should be fine to them.

They also like Twishite because the vampires aren't "creepy goths". No, seriously.

They're all taking pictures of themselves reading Twilight. I'm going to do the same with Lost Souls. Dumb bitches are dumb.

Most of all, I hate my course. I hate it more than anything I've ever done because we only ever do anything in Newswriting. The only thing I enjoy being here is the rare time I get to spend akone in my room, but even that's starting to upset me. I don't know what I want, but... I'm not going to find it here. I should've put off moving out and uni until after I got myself sorted out. As much as it felt like a prison, living with my parents was a lot safer for me. Being in therapy, travelling to and from college, never going out... I didn't enjoy last year until I started living the total opposite.

I don't want to be a journalist. People are thick, ignorant sheep there to be pushed around by people with money. The press are the sheep dogs of the rich.

I hate society and I'm sick of having to deal with thick people. I'm sick of media hype over dumb things like the LHC and this "credit crunch"- you'll have to sell your Porsche so you can shop at Marks & Spencers still, big deal.

This affects the middle class. I don't come from the middle class- I'm somewhere outside this little class system getting looked down on by everyone because they're too pig-headed and scared to think that they'll blindly rush ahead and bring about their own demise.

It all got off to a bad start though when I woke up at half 9 to find out Rhi hadn't slept at all and was having a hard time feeling any energy. I finally convinced her to get ready- but it took so long that I didn't have any time to bind properly and I still looked like a female by the time we were heading out the door. Eventually we get to George Square to get directions to Blythswood Square and buy giant rainbow flags. We get to Blythswood Square, are handed black signs with "LOVE IS A HUMAN RIGHT" written in pink then walk around the street waiting for the march to start and watching the drag acts on the van towards the back. As we walked past, one leaned over, tapped me with his wand and told me I'd been blessed by a fairy~ Seriously, this crowd were lovely! Just before the march starts (20 minutes later than planned because the riot vans had to get to their stations, as did the police marching alongside and the dog unit vans) I manage to find Lauren too, after talking to a sweet 50 year old man about how things have progressed over his lifespan for LGBT rights. The march took us down Glasgows main streets, we're caught on camera and filmed a lot but aside from the few stares nobody makes any rude comments... until we hit the last stage of George Square and go past two buses full of chavs shouting, booing, sticking the figer at us. We do the same back, but it's all over in a matter of seconds as we're now on to George Square. The march finishes with the drummers at the front, the LGBT flat is raised above the city council chambers- first time ever in the history of Glasgow, I believe? The only thing I can complain about really was being jealous of the man infront of me with the perfectly-bound chest. It's something I'm always jealous of.

After the firt half's all over we find Nickel, get to the freebies tent that didn't dissapoint, ate cupcakes and kicked around the benches looking for Sian. She appears ten miutes later, the two of us head back over to the LGBT Youth area to have a go of DDR... only to leave with massive long-sleeve tshirts with cartoon pictures of a condom and lube packet on them XD Matched with my camo shorts and her combat trousers, the two of us looked like a couple of "gay army cadets". Kicked around George Square some more, took pictures, had an amazing time and chatted with lots of interesting people.

At the end of the main entertainment it was off to Oko for some teriyaki, fandom chat and general dorkiness.

Walking back after seeing Rhi off at the train station I passed a group of chavs (hanging around the North Hanover Street bus stop, drinking cheap cider and buckfast, how original) who made some rather nasty comments. I don't think they would've been as loud and rude if they hadn't had any alcohol. It's not like I was attacked though, so it doesn't bother me- just makes me wonder how people can be so dumb.

Most of the good photos are on Nickel's camera, so I won't have them until tomorrow evening or Monday. There's also going to be a photo of Rhi and I in a well-known UK LGBT magazine, we were filmed at the march meeting point and ended up in numerous photos from other marchers and onlookers. I'll need to gather them all up over the week and make a large picture post.

Interesting points just to wrap up this post: I noticed a large percentage of the crowd (myself included) had facial piercings and smoked. Lauren pointed out that there are also a lot of the LGBT crowd who have or do self-harm. As Sian put it, sitting in George Square surrounded by everyine felt like sitting in a massive bubble of acceptance.

Another last note, a quote from that ol' fundie Pat Robertson: "Scotland is a dark land overrun with homosexuals". I don't know about everywhere else, but Glasgow was pretty bright today.

Moving day was pretty hilarious too, we had to get a lift through from my mother-person and Melloface helped me carry everything. We had to put stuff into trolleys and take the lift Met my flatmate- she's lovely, a few years older than me and likes Jeremy Kyle- but I have the place to myself until next month when she properly moves down from Oban.

Yesterday I spent the day at Kelvingrove and went out in the evening and got incredibly drunk.

Casualties so far: one wine glass and one pink 3G iPod which I've managed to fix.

In other stuff, going to Pride as the Fairy Goth Mother. With rainbow wings.

My parents and I don't exactly see eye-to-eye. In fact, if I wasn't moving? I would be homeless by September. They don't want me living here for various reasons etc etc blah blah blah. Move or be moved, and there's a constant argument going on in the house.

Also, I'm completely cut off from my friends at the moment too. I have to work all weekend every weekend and I get no time off, so that rules out cosplay meets and seeing the people who are still at school. Then there's the people I keep in touch with from high school; two work weekdays, one is in and out of hospital all the time, three won't speak to me because of rumours and one has ditched me completely because of his jealous, controlling girlfriend. The same girl who started the rumours. All the talking we do has to go through her- he's completely under her thumb and I don't want anything to do with him anymore.

I'm spending most of my weekdays sleeping or sitting infront of the TV. This move is going to do me the world of good... if it happens before September.

Saturday, I was Matt from Death Note. I took an allergic reaction to the original top and thought it was the materal and brought a different one only to find out it was the soap powder I'm allergic to. Also forgot my jacket-thing :'D Then again, it was far too warm and I would've died in the heat. Also was glomped/half-strangled by in the que! Bought tons of stuff, took some photos, leanred the dance to "Jumping All Over The World" from a passing mini-Mello and was fangirled by a passing Sora and Riku set. Later on I was eating a bar of chocolate and an older Mello tried to give me some sort of lapdabce GTFO- I gave them my chocolate and they dissapeared. Then I found another Matt and we took pics together. ALSO, I GOT RANDOMLY HUGGED BY GUMSHOE AND HE GAVE ME HIS MSN Had a few drinks at the bar in the evening which led to Sasori crack then me getting into my Matt cosplay again and dancing in the hallway~

Sunday was a day of a sliiiight hangover and being Sasori (I was meant to be Deidara but I kinda forgot to buy a wig ), but there was an awesome Edgeworth walking about who I spent my hour in the ATM que staring at, along with his Franziska. Bought more stuff, took a couple more photos, more dancing and just general good times apart from having to constantly check if I remembered my purse/camera/phone etc.

Monday I went shopping out of cosplay and had to get the bus back to Scotland Was back in Stirling by midday on Tuesday, and I slept and stayed off college today.

Also this new Death Note/Phonenix Wright and continuing Kingdom Hearts obsession is raaather good considering I'm going through a period of intense loathing with Naruto. I'm... not going to get started on it, all I can say is I'm not impressed with the last 8 or so months of the manga. Death Note cosplays incredibly easy since most of the clothes I need can be found in my wardrobe- I just need to buy a couple of wigs (and anime!Matt and Light-o have the same hair, Matt's just messier). And I need to do up my goggles a bit.

Oh and due to asshattery between my aunt and my parents we're now no longer going to my aunts wedding on Friday. Some childish stuff about my parents refusing to sit next to someone and my aunt leaving my mum messages telling her to go rot in hell and that they're scum. Got out of work yesterday and she'd left me a message calling me a "little skank". It's Jeremy Kyle worthy, this drama! I still want nothing to do with it- it's sad people have to resort to that.

Of course, it didn't exacly go to plan the first two times

Yesterday Xiggy and I went up to the piercing studio really early in the morning, thinking we could just get it over and done with early. Guess what? It was closed DX So we went back to Leea's and spent the day there. Stayed overnight and watched Mock The Week on TV-Links. Walked up to the piercing studio for half 1 earlier and found half on Stirling Uni were up there in the waiting room, wanting tatoos. So we booked the first avaliable appointment... 6.30pm =_=; We booked it and nearly backed out at about 5pm. We made it up there though! I got a 1.6 blue hoop, which looks pretty damn good sitting at an angle. If you're considering getting it doe, I would totally go for it; doesn't hurt in the slightest. I only felt it once the needle had completely gone through. Took a while for my lip to stop being numb though and I'm starting to make the adjustment to talking with it. Not going to get used to eating for a long time, but is that such a bad thing?

A family update would consist of my brother still being a fucking moron and my parents still acting like uneducated rednecks.

Anyway, my problem with them today is their conservative views on pretty much everything. Opinions are baaad, anything to do with sex is baaad, gays are baaad, swearing is baaad etc. Also, they have this whole "We R Christians Naow!11!11!" thing going on at the moment which is just getting on my nerves and they are both SO FUCKING THICK. Really! The maw never seemed to progress past age 14. My dad... the person who thinks they know everything but knows very little.

I had an argument with them last night over the new piercing which I'm getting later (fingers crossed). The maw decided to say "If God wanted you to have a hole there, he would've made it. My three points? I don't believe in any god, I have my ears pierced and so does she. My dad just sat there scowling. As usual. Trust me, he isn't called "dour" by his colleauges for nothing.

I can't wait until summers over, because I won't have to put up with those two morons.

When you're staying with people all weekend though, there's not much you can do about it and decide you're going to make up for it in the following week. I am. Nobody likes fat cosplayers, and I won't be as fucking huge as I am now by the October Expo.
