As someone who loved and finished all of the PoP games, I am sort of excited. Jake is one of my fave actors, he does look like prince and it seems like the movie might actually do the games some justice.

I've been completely inactive lately, sorry guys, very busy being employed. Great to have a job in these times especially if it is my first full-time position. I fought my way into the positon of Digital Media Designer at a product and packaging design studio. Everything is going great so far.

Today I also noticed that one of my designs was featured in Smashing Magazine. I do not own any part of the Design Critique website but since the mention was based on aesthetics, I feel like it's something to be proud of. It is second to last in the list.

And finally, check out some amazing interface works from the best underground community. Battlebay is a historic event, a celebration of the art of interface design and Encide is proud to currently be hosting one for their members. Feel free to feast your eyes.

I don't exactly care who owns what, I just hope they won't f*ck things up. I've seen some decent things come out of Disney's game dev studios. Lets hope this will turn out OK.

Just wanted to thank everyone for getting me to a small, personal milestone of 30K views. I don't judge my success by it, however it is nice to see that my work is appreciated and looked at every once in a while. Cheers to that!

Haven't updated my journal in quite a while. I've been ok, just a bit busy even though it's already summer.

Wanted to take a minute to show you guys an artist I found about a week ago. His origins and life are wrapped in mystery. his name is Banksy. He has an amazing range of art stretching from graffiti to 3D moving objects. I could not believe that one person was responsible for such a variety of art. Anyway, here are some links:

Well the voting at Threadless has ended and Rotten Luck received an awesome score of 1.7 out of 5, which I think is in a way lame of those people. Some other desings that finished voting around the same time were of lesser quality and easily got over 2.0 average....jealousy? Possibly.

There are still some bugs I need to fix thanks to my google analytics plugin but the rest of the site should be fine and dandy in most browsers. So, we haven't even entered 2009 yet and Microsoft has managed to deliver yet another fail. This time however I think they've managed to surpass expectations of the majority of their casual users.

I'll let you all read the article here and feel free to write your thoughts here, although I pretty much know what you'll think.

If this happens, I personally will do all I can to stick with my XP OS and will openly support piracy and hacking of software / hardware. There's no way I'll let this happen to me.

I must admit I was rather excited to get the update and it looks pretty good to me. Lots of new features and I'm starting to like it more than the blades....BUT!!!!

WTH happened to the connection? Xbox live keeps disconnecting and connecting again every 10 minutes if not more often! I understand it's their big day but come on....its micosoft......Micro$oft!!!! I'm just upset I can't play online without losing my progress.

Anyone else experiencing thins?

First DD!!

It is indeed true, I received my first Daily Deviation award last night, although I didn't notice it till this morning.

When I logged in, I noticed that I had over 100 Messages which has never happened before as I habitually go through my inbox and clean it sometimes twice a day. At first I actually thought it was some kind of glitch but you can imagine how happy I was to see that I received my first DD.

Much thanks to my man for suggesting my design for the award and thanks to for honoring me with the award. Hopefully it is first of many to come.

In other news I am back to college so you might see a little less of me around here but I will continue designing. As a matter of fact I am trying to get a design internship for this semester and if that works out you will see even more great designs......hopefully.

The Large Hadron Collider

Not sure how many of you heard of this or even care but to me it seems like a pretty big deal.

The so called Large Hadron Collider in essence is a particle accelerator, besides the fact that is is probably the largest one in the world. It is approximately 17 miles long, under the ground and was built with search for the so called "God Particle" as one of main purposes.

Now the reason why I'm writing this is to see what are your thoughts on a little issue associated with this collider. The reason is as follows:

"One reason the LHC has gotten a lot of press recently is that word started to get around that it was technically possible that when the device turned on for the first time, it could create miniature black holes. You hear the word Âblack holeÂ and you immediately think end of the world, but any black hole the LHC could create would likely be so small and destroy itself instantaneously that no one would ever notice it."

We all know how many of such scientific predictions end up, and taking into account the sheer power of this device I do end up with certain concerns.

Got a minute or two so I wanted to say hi to all of you.

It's been a while since I added anything to my portfolio but not for a bad reason. College is keeping me constantly on the move, busy with homeworks along with my actual day job.

Motion graphics has lately been a big thing for me along with a bit of 3D modeling. Those are some of the things I always wanted to learn and lately I was able to do so. I hope to post up some of my motion projects very soon.

Along with that I also introduce to you my latest and biggest project:

I promise there is more to come and i hope to make a sort of "come back" to DA's community.

Dark Knight

Just got back from the midnight screening of that Joker movie...The Dark Knight.

It's 3AM here and I've got to wake up for work tomorrow but before I go I wanted to say a few things.

The movie in itself was incredible but to me personally it was mostly due to how incredible of a job Heath did. In my opinion it is truly his masterpiece and his movie. This was actually the first midnight screening I have ever went to and I am proud of it being for this movie, and even more so, for this actor.

We will all miss you.

DIABLO III

Diablo 3 was announced this past weekend for PC and MAC systems. No release date yet announced, no system requirements. The official website has plenty of screenshots, gameplay and cinematic trailers.

So here's the deal.

Many of you have seen my red/green/brown version of the Next Student design but there is another version that I made to include the original color of the Next Student logo. Their logo colors were black and blue so I simply replaced the red in the design with blue for a sort of V2. While it doesn't look as good as the version with red for my personal taste I would like to ask all of you that liked my design follow the URL above and vote for me by pressing on a small star on the bottom left, under my design.

First journal for the year! GET EXCITED!...or should I say $_GET(EXCITED) ?

Yupp, I've started learning PHP as one of my new year resolutions. Been goin good so far, hope to have some of the things I write up in a month or so. Coding has always seemed like a great challenge to me, due to the fact that I am a pretty visual person. BUT I've been more or less getting a hang of it lately. If any of you out there are like PHP ninjas then let me know cuz I'll definitely would like to talk to ya guys bout some things, nothing crazy.

Anyway in other news I'm also back to college and I have finally acquired my drivers license! Thats about it for now. I hope to hear from the PHP ninjas and I will keep the rest of you in loop.

College sucks....well at least it does right now. This upcoming May I am transferring to a college in Arizona where I will be staying on campus. Yet until then i will have to keep going to my current college, which I commute to. The whole commute takes up several hours every day which i could have been spending on work, design or entertainment. Which is the reason I have not uploaded any deviations at all in the past month or so. I do have some new work but i don't even have time to just upload it here.

Anyway, just had to vent. Hopefully I'll upload some stuff this weekend. Other than that life's OK. Currently learning to drive and going to get my license pretty soon, was too much of a lazy ass to do it while I was still in High School.

Title says it all....now leave!

Just kiddin I'm just rather excited about being done with the first marking period in college. I totally kicked ass and finished with all A's, which is actually kind of the reason why I wasn't able to accept that many free logo projects.

I also recently have been spending lots of time giving back to the DA community as you might have noticed. I have posted royalty free shapes for both PS and AI; followed by a recent artistic brush pack for AI which contains over 90 brushes total (how cool is that?!) I am also planning on releasing another pack of custom shapes, this time a little different yet of top notch quality as usual. So stay tuned.

I have also made my first submission to DA news. Which i really recommend all of you to take a look at and possibly favorite. You can find my summary here, and by clicking on the title you will be taken to a page with a video and more info which is a must see!

Another exciting thing is NRG v2, no its not released yet, but I have begun working on concept sketches and if it all works out this one will be even sweeter than the first version.

Free Logo's? No Wai!!

It is true indeed. In the next few weeks, possibly months, I will be making logo's for free upon your request. Reason for that is the fact that college and my personal endeavors are keeping me busy and I simply have no time to think of interesting names for logo concepts. Yet I still need to practice and make some works for my portfolio. This is where the only requirement comes in. I will only be creating logo's for interesting names. It can be anything from "Ashes" to "Makeshift", "brainMachine" ( <- last 2 are my personal favorites/ concepts ). So as you see it does not have to be anything extraordinary, it just has to get me interested.

If I do end up making a logo for your proposed name I only reserve the right to keep it as a work for my portfolio and you may use it for as long as you want and anywhere you want or even discard it.

Simply put, post any names you want and I'll make logo's for those that I find interesting. You can post names of your companies / concepts or even random words you might think I'll like if you simply wish to help me out.

As I have promised in my previous journal, I am going to stay as active as possible around here and commit some good deeds. Therefore as my first gift to you peoplez is my very first vector pack for Illustrator. The file will also contain a "Read Me" which I hope all of you will make sure to read.

I have another design coming up in a bit, another T-shirt design. So I hope I will be able to release it very soon. Getting busy once again is not very easy after being lazy for so many weeks.

Yes...I still am alive

It has been a while since i submitted anything to DA, long enough to make me forget exactly how long. =]

And so I've decided to finally make a come back....sort of. I uploaded my latest piece which is actually my very first published illustration (Reiv). As I have mentioned in it I am still very new to Illustrator yet i am very excited about learning it and i have many more ideas that you will probably hear or see very soon.

The reason I haven't been active all that much is because i started commuting to college and it takes about 2-3 hours each way, 5 times a week. Not fun at all but i gotta do what i gotta do. So far it's been pretty easy but it also isn't much fun yet either, its all theory and basics like storyboarding for now. Hopefully soon I'll be starting some fun stuff and will be taking electives.

Anyways thats about it for my little come back, i hope to see you all around here and on Mished, stay tuned and go critique my newb illustration skillz. =]

Have i been lazy or what?

Even tho its kinda justified with school and work i havent had any new deviations for quite a while now. Altho im gonna let you on a little secret. Right now im working on my biggest project ever, its pretty much like nothing u've seen before from me. Project is based on texturing and a whole lot of it. I call it Keynetic, so in a while when u see a notification for this deviation you simply must check it out. It is a personal project, pushing my own limits in order to learn new things.

I also posted a video tutorial at Mished Forums. This tute is on making the buttons you see in my works, yeah the dark and shiny ones. With alittle bit of luck i will write some more tutes and if so it happens i will let you guys know.

4K + 300 - The Best!

Just wanted to thank all of you for visiting my gallery and showing me that my work is somewhat valued . Thank you all ladies and gentlemen.

I also must add that the movie 300 i am sure most of you heard about is probably one of the best i have seen in my lifetime. Yes, it was that good, atleast to people who value the genre. The action scenes were mixed with some great conversations and accompanied by a great narration. Fighting was what it was all about and sure enough it was well done. Especially if you keep in mind that the whole thing was done on green screen and at times actors were talking with the air, or armies that really were 10 people while filming.

Before the movie, as promised, new Spiderman 3 trailer was aired, which had Venom grab spidey by the head in the end (for a split of a second) which gies us all hope on some ass kicking and battling between the two. Sooo i got my tablet today, sweet stuff i tell ya. I'm an official owner of Wacom Intuos 6x8 and i love it. I know its gonna take some getting used to but hey, im willing to work on it. Now im gonna start gettin into digital painting (once again) and brushing some interfaces with some help from Jeff (yes the Mest-man).

Other than that, 300 comes out this week, actually in 3 days and im definitely going with my girlfriend and a bunch of friends from school. Speaking of which you guys should also go and see it cuz ill be talking about that movie for weeks after and i need company.

And of course, good old Photoshop CS3 is announced to come out March 27th so keep your eyes pealed.

Anyone else needs a faster PC?

So i got inpired by a bmx video i saw a few daysa go and decided to make a poster. Create a new document at 300 dpi 20x30 inches, take my bucket, pick a nice color, click on the background and.......fill takes about 2-3 minutes......WTF!? >_> Seriously, i realize its a big file but im just so tired of it. Sigh. I need a faster pc, 1 gig of ram and Pentium 4 2.8 GHz just arent doing it for me. Am i wrong? What kind of computers are all of you working on, especially those of you that do print work? How much is enuff, or do most of you face the same difficulties and just cope with them?

Recently an idea struck me and that is to open up a clothing line.

For now things are still misty, my chosen vendor is actually moving and told me to contact them again in few months which gives me perfect time to prepare yet things are still unclear if I'll be able to pull it off.

I will open up a separate DA account, and keep you guys updated, post the designs and even ask for your ratings and advice on clothing so that i release only the best.

All in all, once i open up a dedicated DA for the clothing i would appreciate all the feedback you guys can give me. Favouriting those designs would also be magnificent as it would help me get the word out and you'll know u've done a good thing as i will be investing lots of money into it and it will be the biggest gamble for me up to date.

Either way thank you guys if u bothered to read my ramblings and plans.

In other news im planning on re-opening my folio and start a media group with instantxramen. Speaking of which, if you are interested in being a part of our media group let me know. At this time we are looking for coders and flashers more than designers.

As some of you might have noticed i havent been that active around DA lately, all due to college search and senior obligations. Its not fun at all i must say and i barely have any time for myself.

Deisng wise i havent worked on any interfaces for about 5 months if not more, currently i am only working on a T-Shirt design that i will wear while visiting colleges and applying; everything else will have to wait untill later.

As for my low DA activity, i am nevertheless thankfull for all of you who keep coming back to see my works, +fav or add me to their friend lists. Much thanks and love to all of you.

Its good to be here. Heres a little about myself.

On the web im known as [cadmus] , my portfolio sites are nextexile.com and nextexile.net ( just for a redirect ) For the most part i am interested in designing website interfaces but i also jump around trying out other things like digital painting and illustrations. My biggest inspirations are Cade, Jeff and my good friend Andrei. And ofcourse cant leave out people like Beatsta and Glow. Mad props to all of you guys, thanks for existing.

Been busy with school lately so i have a lot of catching up to do design wise, expect new additions to my gallery soon.
