Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz once said that “this is the best of all possible worlds. And this little tidbit of information was mercilessly, MERCILESSLY mocked in Candide, Voltaire's ridiculously funny novel of a good-natured young man named Candide and his philosophical mentor, Dr. Pangloss (who is a barely hidden imitation of what Voltaire thought Leibniz was like). In his journeys poor Candide has to put up with psychopathic priests, finding out that countries execute officers every once in a while just to "encourage the others", seeing war, famine and ridiculous levels of violence, all the while listening to his mentor insist that "Everything is for the best in this best of all possible worlds". Heck, when Candide's trying to save a good friend, Jacques, from drowning, his mentor stops him and tries to prove that the Bay of Libson had been "formed expressly for the Anabaptist to drown in".

The musical by Leonard Bernstein adds to the joke over and over. In fact, one of it's best songs, "The Best of All Possible Worlds" praises war as a blessing in disguise for uniting everyone as victims. And don't get me started on the movie "Candy".

All of those things are funny. But they miss the point, sadly. The big, important point that Leibniz was trying to make. So I'm going to explain it very, very simply.

Leibniz was making a rational argument, making a statement based on reason alone that God created the best of all possible worlds.

Yep. Ya heard me right.

Here's the reasoning laid out one piece at a time.

1.There wouldn't be a world at all if God hadn't chosen to make it.
2. The "principle of sufficient reason" states that when there is more than one alternative, there MUST be an explanation for why ONE is the case and why not the OTHER.
3. In the case of God choosing a particular world to create, the explanation must therefore be found in the attributes of God himself, since there was nothing else around at the time.

Alright, the next part you might be able to guess on your own. What do you think of when you think "God"? Let me guess. "All powerful". "Loves me". "Good". "All-knowing". Those are some common answers, right? Well, good! Now we move on to the last, and probably the most important part of the argument.

4. Because God is all powerful and morally perfect, he must have created the BEST possible world. if you think about it even harder, he created the ONLY possible world. God wouldn't have created a world that wasn't the best in terms of potential!

Leibniz's major point wasn't "Everything is hunky dory, there is no evil in the world".

That's fracking stupid, yea!

What Leibniz was trying to say was that for God to have created the world any other way would have resulted in any other way would have created even MORE evil! Or, to sum it up in a good joke: "An optimist thinks this is the best of all possible worlds. A pessimist fears this is so!"

An optimist is alright with how things are in the world. A pessimist hates how the world is. An idealist sees ways to change the world all around. And a rationalist says "That's just life".

Having said that, I'm now going to say something else. This world was CREATED to be the best of all possible worlds. That does not mean that there is room for human stupidity to screw things up. Is the world CURRENTLY the best?

Nope. Nada. Nyet. Naga. Nay. N-O.

Luckily the potential to make this world the best it can be is still there.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Okay. Here's the deal.

I had an assignment. Read 1984. Report on it with a partner.

I'd never read it. John, my partner, suggested it would be good. So I got it from the library.

Big mistake.

It literally felt like my soul was vomiting. I hated it. It was the most cynical, horrid story I'd ever, EVER read. To think for one moment that it could actually come true makes me want to scream in disgust.

No offense to all of you who liked the story, but...WHY? Why do you like it at all?

Yes, it's gripping and dramatic but for the love of God, the character of O'Brien alone makes me want to rip the book into shreds and PEE on it! The man is scum. The Party is scum. No, I'm wrong, the Party in 1984 represent things worse than trash. They've stopped being "people". They're less than "things". Their ultimate end is power.

Sick. Sick. Sick.

And Orwell? Why am I not surprised with this? British socialists of the 1930s rejected such liberal values as democracy, humanist art, freedom (as reduced to market freedom), Progress, and rationality on the basis that liberalism as an organism was a failure! And yes, Orwell was a self-described Socialist. He felt that British democracy of 1939 couldn't survive the war. He got himself proved wrong after the war. The war and the revolution can't be separated, he discovered.

You know what else he found out? He had Tuberculosis. He died at the age of 46 of a burst artery in his lungs.

I know plenty of people like 1984. I don't know why though. Yes, it's dramatic. Yes, it really GETS to you. Creeps you out, I suppose. But still, I'll be honest, for a so-called "cautionary tale", it reads less like an everyday man's look at what the world could be and more like a cynic's nightmare vision on democratic socialism taken to the extreme.

I think it was Karma that got to Orwell. He didn't just look into the abyss. He put one foot in it.

I won't do that.

I believe. I BELIEVE that good is a force more powerful than evil, than greed. O'Brien denies that civilization can't be founded on fear and hatred and cruelty. He denies that the Earth is not the center of the Universe. He denies that the Earth is older than man. These are the words of an ignorant hypocrite who's sole purpose is to wean down an innocent man until he's finally broken. I'd sooner bite through my own hand to break free and sink my teeth into his neck or bite through my own tongue than listen to his spew.

Just because you refuse to acknowledge that a car is coming towards you at 50 miles an hour doesn't mean that you still won't become a pancake.

Not all points of view should be tolerated. You wouldn't listen to a Nazi. You wouldn't listen to a Dictator. I won't listen to a cynic either. All of them represent terrible parts of what humanity can become. The belief that humanity, either part of it, or all of it, is flawed and evil.

No offense, but...screw you. Now, if you don't mind...I'm off to go return this dumb copy of 1984 before I end up burning it in my trash can.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Well, my Halloween was very interesting so far.

Firstly...I got into a Halloween Costume contest at the cafeteria. I got some make-up, put on my tie-dye shirt and pants, put hair dye on, did some special spray on my body to fully cinch the deal...

And it was so close that they had to do a coin flip. Luck was on my side. I won Skittles, M&M's, a Candy Apple, Trail Mix, lots of goodies. Of course, I shared some of my winnings with the girl who didn't win the coin toss. It feels good winning that contest. It really does!

I'm TEMPTED to try and do the "Chant into a Mirror" trick, but I believe that the Universe jinxes things. If I tried to do it to summon a ghost, well, most likely, something creepy or nasty would happen to me. Maybe not in that moment, but I'd probably end up getting killed in my sleep or something! Why tempt fate?

Besides...I have stories and artwork to get up. Nope, I'm not tempting fate...

Wish I had my bike though. That way I could go to the cemetery and check for ghosts. I feel...that would be better. I'd feel more sure then. But no, not this Halloween. Instead I took candy, went from door to door, and gave it out. Trick or Treating in a NEW fashion. Ah, I live for the smiles on their faces!

Halloween as always been a fun holiday for me. And hopefully I'll be able to show you guys the outfit that won the contest...AND a picture of my pumpkin that I carved.

Goodnight! Sleep tight! Don't let the vampires and werewolves and zombies bite!

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Well, today's a bit of a special day for me. You see...it's not just the anniversary of when I first wrote the "Alternate Fate: Fantasy" chronicles...it's also the anniversary of my father and my step-mom, Barbara.

I think about Barbara a lot. She's not an "evil stepmom" at all. She's actually more of a wise fairy godmother...it's because of her private little philosophical talks with me that I managed to get through some very rough patches of my life.

Not that I totally accepted her at first. I was HORRID to her son Jordan in the beginning because he was a joker, he was "the enemy" and hurting hi meant hurting the person who was marrying my dad. Then I started seeing her not as the person who my dad was marrying, but as just a person.

I felt like crap. So I changed my attitude and started just...LISTENING to her. And lo and behold...I started to like her.

So Happy Anniversary Dad...Barb. And to my wonderful creation "AFF"! I especially want to thank for his great support. Thanks to him the AFF series continues in the collaborative effort displayed at his page: [link]

I ALSO wanna thank for doing a fantastic story request.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Well, I did the villains. Time for the kids!

Charlie
--------------
Charlie has remained young and innocent the entire series and shall continue to. I will not say HOW. Nor will I say how he's able to do some of the things he does. But I will tell you this: you may or may not know, but he was based on a real person...and he is the one character who is probably closest to being God out of every person in my life I've ever known. At least, if God looked like a kid. He's best of buddies with Heartwing, who, like him, always remains young, innocent, and uncorruptible. Heartwing's death symbolizes a terrible blow to innocence, how it's almost lost totally. The fact that Charlie remains means that there's still some left in their town.

Heartwing
--------------
Heartwing has always represented innocence and love. He's really a very angelic little figure and not evil or mean at all: I deliberately laugh in the face of the "dragon=evil" stereotype. Like Page and Charlie, he can't be corrupted at all because all three of them embody the true spirit of love: the love people have for each other, for their world and for the sake of Good. Even though Jack makes him angry, he doesn't actually HATE what he does, he just thinks Jack ought to know better...that he's ignorant. Kinda ironic, because Heartwing is rather stupid. Depsite being stupid though, Heartwing is very kind and gentle and self-sacrificing. He ends up dying to prevent Sandy from being killed, his death shows that some true innocence has been lost from the town. Despite this, he returns to life and ends up being the very last member of the Major Arcana to remain in Lilo and Stitch's world. Then...it's time to move on. The world is, at long last, is ready to listen to what he and his ohana can teach. I wanted to end the story in a hopeful way, because I have faith in what love can do for the world. You might also be wondering...how did he EVER get a kid? Blame Jumba's fiddling with blood they donated at the local high school. However, the creation of Senkoukura allowed the two to bond: Heartwing considers Heatwave a "nestmate"...a sibling, very dear.

Patch
--------------
Patch came from the inspiration given to be my good friend . She is best friends with Yuuna and Echo, and WAS good friends with Gavrilo and Jack before they went all evil. She and the other two girls are a trinity that's representative of a basic fact of life: there is incredible potential in children, and if properly given direction...if this blossom of potential is nutured right...it can bloom even more beautifully than before. Patch has the gift of Zoe...advanced life magic. She can bring those dead back to life, returning their souls to bodies that can be instantly healed before everyone's amazed eyes. Bios or "White Magic" is healing magic and can even bring life to things that had no life before, but not nearly on the scale that Zoe has. Most religious fanatics look upon those with either power as "false prophets" and the like. The sad thing is, such a gift is a genuine sign of God's blessing. White magic has to be freely given by a force of Light or Good, and those who know white magic can teach it to others, as Patch does to King, forgiving him for his past indiscretions and doubts. She also Vassago to develop more of a bond with humankind and to allow HIM to forgive himself for failing others he'd cared about before and could not save. Her parents are Dr. PL, who is inhabiting the body of Spiritalise, and the nursing experiment Heala.

Yuuna
--------------
Yuuna I named after...well, you know who. The main character from the "Stitch" anime. It's coming to Disney Channel in the fall, and I await it's premiere with interest. I stay by this: the best stories have a life of their own. Trust in the fans...they have never let Disney down before. And depending how fans treat THAT series depends on how Disney will treat the entire L&S franchise I feel. Will thou accept only the perfect and not make any room for the flawed? Yuuna is flawed, definitely, she's childish...VERY much so. But she also has excellent martial arts skills and it's hinted that she might be the best magician that King's taught so far. Thus, she is very representative of the anime series "Stitch". With the right people nuturing her...giving her support...her potential will fulfill itself and she will turn into something worthy and amazing. Her parents are Daveigh Pelekai and Ashton Edmonds, the "Lovers" of the Major Arcana. Yuuna was also very good friends with Heartwing: in Asian culture, dragons are revered.

Echo
--------------...

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

I felt it was, frankly, time for this. Since my story is nearing the end and the villains are, in one way or another, not threats anymore. Also it may clear up some questions you all have about them.

Sue
----------
Sue. Relationship Sue. Good lord, she is a sight. I will not deny she is beautiful, nor deny that she has unmistakable sex appeal. In fact...that's the point. Sue's basic existence has centered around the desire to be the love of others, usually powerful, important people who make a big impact on the world around her. She'll often settle for people who can give a good shag, as Austin Powers might put it. YEAH BABY.

Problem is...she doesn't actually GET relationships in the proper way. Ironic that her "relationships" are really more like "Master/slave" than "lover/lover".

Actually, you know what's a good comparison? "Nerd and "Inflatable Ursula". Anybody she pairs with is just gonna be a good tool for fun that she'll just grab ahold of whenever she wants to waste some time or get over an unfortunate incident in her life or when she needs to relieve tension. In short...she's consumed by lust...and in the end, she is LITERALLY consumed by lust.

Two
----------
Two is stupid, yes. Stupid because while not unintelligent...he IS clever...he's ignorant.

Rather than taking a stand against the person that made his parents lives living Hell...against the person who essentially did in all in his power to ensure that he wouldn't have something of a normal life...he turned into a Member of the Minor Arcana. He made a deal with the Devil and became desensitized to the idea of killing his own sister. He understands intellectually that it's a tragedy and he has the idea and faint feeling that he OUGHT to feel bad for wanting to kill Green, but...he just can't bring himself.

Mind you, his parent's are SOMEWHAT to blame for agreeing to Samael's deal in the first place and then running off and breaking the deal, but they tried to raise him right. They really did. It was his own bad choices that ended up getting him in trouble. The only difference is his concern and love for those whom he HAD spent most of his life with stayed on. He would not kill his parents and because of that...he didn't cross the line that Jack did. Sadly though, he's accidentally shot by Frequency...mistaken for a monster. Tragically ironic because though he ACTED like one sometimes in behavior...he truly wasn't one. He only LOOKED a bit like one.

Two, is, just so you know, taller than his dad. And he likes to point this out. He does so many...many...many times. His mom thought it was funny. His dad notsomuch.

Miyu
-----------
When I said Two was stupid, I wasn't kidding. He's ignorant. But Miyu is not just ignorant, she is WILLFULLY ignorant, and that brings her into the realm of the sinister.

She is Zim and MALIK's child and she had a very pampered early life, ruling over Irken society. In her alternate reality, Zim left Kila and pursued a relationship with a dear associate and friend, MALIK, and Kila married Grey. Zim and MALIK's love eventually gave birth to a technorganic child...thank the Lord for Modern Science! She was even named for Zim's personal hero, Miyuki.

Miyu was, as a child, timid. But she quickly became used to being treated as special and LOVED it. When Nick and Kila's child, Azazel, began to court her, she felt even more happy...and that she DESERVED it. She began to see herself as superior because of her robotic blood, and that it was only FITTING that the best of Star Command court her. When she was approached by Samael with the offer of power in the Minor Arcana in exchange for some...favors...she accepted gleefully and happily killed her mother and father.

But she didn't stop there. Even when, out of pity, Snizzi granted MALIK the right to rule Android Hell, Miyu simply did not wish to be ruler of only the Irken race. She wanted all her mother had and more. And she took it. She called off her marriage to Azazel so she could plan her coronation ceremony as Queen of Android Hell and of the Irken Race.

Despite the fact that she's cold-hearted and has a superiority complex as big as her dad, she was genuinely tender with Azazel and was getting very close to him. She just could not let go of her desire to be the best and damned the consequences. Ultimately she made an overestimation in taking on Alex twice. If she'd bothered to factor in some variables, she might have lived...

Azazel

Azazel was originally a beautiful angel. A seraph...

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

There's a question we ask ourselves.

What is evil? What is dark?

What does "horror" mean?

In my story I attempt to explore that. There are always certain...truths that exist about horror.

The shroud of cruelty that envelops a heart gets thicker and thicker the more you try to separate yourself from others in a vain attempt to face your own demons...

What makes somebody good? What makes them evil? The mystery is why do these distinctions exist at all? Well, there are reasons for everything, that is what I believe. What cannot be explained by the mind can be understood by the heart and so on. Therefore there must be a REASON why there is good and evil in the world...and there must, by definition, be a standard to which all are held that determines what is good and what is evil. We would not know about the stars above if we were blind. You would not call a man merciful for not setting mousetraps if there were no mice in the house. The action of us asking "why" implies there is an answer.

So there is a reason for evil and good. There is a standard things are held to. Where it comes from I know not. But I know this...under the right circumstances, people are capable of doing both sweet, amazing and wonderful things just as they can commit the most horrifying of abominable behavior...

With each turn of fate the circumstances come together like tumblers in a lock and unleash our most horrifying potential...

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Today was my day off. So I scanned some pictures. I listened to music. Uploaded stuff. And I went on bus into town to get stuff, then took a taxi to another place.

On that taxi cab ride, something interesting happened. The taxi driver, Raj, warned me that the other person we were picking up was a nasty old bitch who wanted to be a queen. She ended up being an old lady who was taking her cat (she needed help getting the carrier into the cab) to a holistic veterinary clinic. Somedays, apparently, she's nice. We ended up, all three of us, talking about the camp I worked at and about Autism and on how the cab driver's sons are autistic on the higher and lower spectrum and how the woman herself was considered almost so for so long because she just didn't want to talk for a long, long period of her life.

After we dropped the woman, Raj and I talked about God and about people with Autism and the like. He told me that people like me have interests we're VERY good at, like music, drawing, etc. And also that we're very compassionate. And when I told him about my dream to teach high school history, he said he had faith I could do it. That I had to be confident. "We all have doubts". He said. "But remember that God made you special. And you're better than most of us "normal" people who can't be civil so much of the time".

A complete stranger said I was a good person, said he had faith in me and said that God was looking after me.

...this is the kind of thing that makes you have faith in humanity again...and reaffirms that somebody up there cares about me.

A total stranger. Just saying something like that out of the blue.

...wow. -_-

Is it on? Good! Now Paul wrote in his letters in the New Testament much about love. In "Ephesians", women were to submit to their husbands, but HUSBANDS were to as love their wives "just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her". Now if only husbands would treat their wives the way Jesus treated people...I doubt ANYBODY would divorce ANYONE else.

Furthermore, remember this: it's important to remember the importance of love. Love is patient. Love is kind. It doesn't envy, boast or is proud. It isn't rude, self-seeking or easily angered and grudge-holding. It delights not in evil but rejoices in truth. It always protects...always trusts...always hopes...always perseveres.

Prophecy may pass. Tongues can be stilled. Love never, ever fails.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Well, apparently the computers have deliberately been altered so that nobody can upload pictures of the campers onto the Interwebs.

Irritating, to be sure, but I shall continue to write as often as possible. I get Mondays off, so that's good for me.

And now for another meme from

1. What's your character's name? Why did you choose that name?

Nick:
Nicholas Michael Grey is my own name. He's me, essentially. I got my first name because my dad was trying to pick one and he didn't know what to choose. A buddy of his told him and Mom "You gotta name him Nick! Nick's your buddy! Nick's your pal!".

The name stuck. ^_^

Nick doesn't like being called "Nicholas". He thinks it's too formal. He also has many titles, but doesn't really keep track of them all. Nick, foremost of all, is Nick.

Michael White:
Michael has no middle name and DESPISES his first name. Somewhere in all of us is a kid who hates being reminded that so and so are his parents...White hates being reminded that he's half human, and since his first name comes from my MIDDLE name...

His last name and his darker, more powerful form, "Pitch Black", are chosen for their colors. Combined...they make Grey.

Grey Nicholas Pelekai:

Grey was given his father's first name as his middle name...it's a tradition in my family. If I'd been born a girl, then "Eda" would be my middle name and I'd be Nicole Eda Grey.

Grey's first name comes from the fact that I thought it'd just be cool to have my last name be his first name. His two other forms are based off the Hawaiian words for black and white, and combined...they make Grey. Ahinahina. ^_^

His last name comes from his mother's side of the family, since it has a nice ring to it.

Heartwing:

Heartwing was given his name because I have always pictured an innocent little dragon who just likes seeing others happy and who wears his heart on his sleeves...or in this case, his wings. It is his optimism and cheerfulness that gives him his title.

King:

King was named after a garter snake...one who belongs to a family that's always hung around my house. I've saved him and his family a couple times from being run over. His name is essentially a tie to the name "King Snake". I thought of giving him a last name...but a single, solitary name had more power. Thus, it stuck. He's more than just a snake, after all.

Staccato:

Staccato was named for a musical term that means quickly and lightly. Many Mega Man characters have musical names...I just got into the spirit.

2. Lahvely. What is their role in the story? Hero? Antagonist? Comic relief?

Nick: Moral Compass of a Group.
Grey: Slightly offbeat hero.
White: Anything I feel like making him. He can go either way.
Heartwing: Lovable lug who can't hurt a fly.
King: Wise mentor figure. Makes great green tea.
Staccato: Cop. Good for the "Good cop/bad cop" scenario since he can literally go either way. Also used to tribute and parody old shows like "Dragnet".

3. Give three or more facts about their physical appearance, eg eye color, hair color, height, whether they're attractive or not if you're superficial.

Nick:
Eye color: Green/Hazel.

Hair color: Brown.
Height: Six three.
Attractiveness: Cute. That's all. Boyishly cute.

Grey:
Eye color: Black, but with green tint at bottom. As Ele Hiwa, it turns white with a blood red tint, as Kuali, it's grey with a sad blue tint.
Hair color: Brown. Always. Not gonna cover fur, you all know what color THAT is.
Height: 4 feet, 2 inches at most.
Attractiveness: Kinda scary/cute at same time.

White:
Eye Color: Pink, normally. Green if going Pitch Black.
Hair Color: White. Totally White.
Height: 6'4. Slightly taller than Nick. Rubs his face in it.
Attractiveness: He's too sexy for his shirt sometimes. YES.

Heartwing:
Eye Color: Black
Hair Color: No hair, but has silver crest spikes.
Height: About 3'8.
Attractiveness: VERRRY cute. VERY.

King:
Eye Color: Gold.
Hair Color: Light Blue.
Height: 6'2.
Attractiveness: For a snake anthro, he looks nice.

Staccato:
Eye Color: Changes on mood. Usually silver.
Hair: Slightly dark brown.
Height: 6 feet tall.
Attractiveness: Sweet-looking, but also slightly sad.

4. Are they afraid of anything? Why?

Nick: Forme...

I mean, I notice, y'know.

Gluttony

Nick: Uh, I'm afraid that I have a problem with this sometimes when it comes to candy...or Chinese dumplings.
White: GLUTTONY? Nah, not my thing. I don't eat too much. I drink wine occasionally, and some good hard beer, but I can hold my own fine.
Grey: Now you all know where I GET it from. I have a problem with this quite often. I have some STANDARDS, yeah, I won't eat month-old roadkill, but...otherwise...

Greed

Nick: I used to have a problem with stealin' from my brother just to annoy him and get him back for being a jerk to me.
White: See "Lust", my friends.
Grey: Money don't mean much to me.

Wrath

Nick:...er...uh...sometimes I get VERRRY angry...and when I do...
White: Heh. Yeah, people who annoy me tend to end up tied to things.
Grey: Wanna know what it's like inside my stomach? Really piss me off and I show you.

Envy

Nick: Uh, no, I don't envy anyone.
White: Me? People envy ME. They wanna be as smooth as me.
Grey: YOU have a problem with pride. I don't envy anyone except maybe those experiments who have retractable claws.

Sloth

Nick: Well...occasionally, yeah, I loaf around.
White: Me? Sit still and do nothin'? You obviously don't know who you're talkin' to.
Grey: Uh, yeah, this can be a problem for me. I can't help it! I'm so much like a dog. Life is a party!

Pride

Nick: A dad who says "Well done" to his son is proud of his son and should be. Fondness is not the same as pride. I don't think I'm the greatest thing around. If I was utterly perfect I wouldn't go on adventures and keep learning new things. I've as much to learn from my charges as they have to learn from ME!
White: I'm too sexy for my shirt. Too sexy for my shirt. So sexy it HUUURTS!
Grey: Yeah, he's FULL of himself. Sometimes I can be, as Ele Hiwa, but I don't really like being so strong all the time. I frighten myself with how dark I can be. -_-

Okay, thank you both for your interesting thoughts.

Nick: No biggie!
White: It's alllll good.
Grey: Any time!

Now YOU try!

It's the heart that counts.
Grey: I don't really know...uh. There's just something in the eyes that'll speak to you...that's how you know.
White: I happen to be a fan of gold, white and pink...but I'm a sucker for beautiful brown-eyed girls.

4) Do you like their hair long or short?
Nick: Don't care, really.
Grey: I don't mind either way.
White: Well, I wouldn't date a bald chick.
Nick: You are so...RRR!

5) What is your peeve about the occasional person?
Nick: The one I'm in love with? Bring on the girls!

6) What are 3 qualities you like most in your love?
Nick: She's kind and understanding and she's got this shyness about her that shows she's sensitive.
Grey: She's smart and witty and she's got the most beautiful golden eyes in all the Universe.
White: I'm not in "love". I do a lot of one night stands though, which leads into the next question nicely...

7) One thing that HAS to be in the one your like?
White: A big ass or a pair of-(Is struck over the head) F--K! NICK!
Nick: You're a pervert and you deserved that.
Guess what I forgot to announce?

It's April. Spring is beginning. Also, it's National Autism Awareness Month.

There are believed to be 10-15 genes in the human body which cause autism. There is also an increasing number of definitions of special types of autism. Autism itself is one of five disorders called Pervasive Development Disorders(PDD), according to the Autism Society.

Here are the different disorders on the spectrum of Autism:

Asperger's Disorder:
Characterized by impairments in social interactions and the presence of restricted interests and activities, with no clinically significant general delay in language, and testing in the range of average to above average intelligence.
Pervasive Developmental Disorder:
(commonly referred to as atypical autism)A diagnosis of PDD-NOS may be made when a child does not meet the criteria for a specific diagnosis, but there is a severe and pervasive impairment in specified behaviors.
Rett's Disorder:
a progressive disorder which, to date, has occurred only in girls. Period of normal development and then loss of previously acquired skills, loss of purposeful use of the hands replaced with repetitive hand movements beginning at the age of 1-4 years.
Childhood Disintegrative Disorder:
characterized by normal development for at least the first 2 years, significant loss of previously acquired skills.

The Autism Society of America has used Centers for Disease Control (CDC) data from 2001 to put the estimates for how many people have Autism in the US of A between 500,000 and 1.5 million Americans. The ASA numbers are based on estimates that between 2 and 6 people per 1,000 suffer from the disorder.

According to Susan Sheenan of "The New Yorker","Recent studies suggest that autism spectrum
disorders occur in an estimated 1 in every 250 children. Then years ago, the number was thought to be 1 in every 2,500."

BUT, and this is a big BUT, U.S. Department of Education numbers are growing 10-17 percent every year, and a separate California report from 1999 notes that there was a 273% increase in that state between 1979 and 1992! 273 FRICKIN' PERCENT!!!

That's a buttload.

Interestingly, autism is 4 times more common in BOYS than girls; that Asperger's syndrome it 10 times more common in boys. Furthermore, that a couple with one autistic child has a 5-6% chance of having another.

However, there seem to be NO racial, ethnic or social patterns to autism.

(Salutes by raising fist to chest.)

SQUEAK!

3. 2 and 9 have a stroke of stupidity and decide to play a really lame joke on 3, how does it go and does anyone get hurt?

White and Green get Grey while he's sleeping. When he wakes up and yawns, he goes to take a shower, then puts his tie-dye pants on. He heads out onto the town and doesn't understand why people are pointing and laughing at him until he realizes how...BREEZY...it feels down below.

He looks down and around and sees a LARGE hole has been cut out of his pants, showing off his grey, furry butt and furthermore, they painted a face on it. Michael and Green laugh and laugh and laugh until Grey chases after them, swearing to grind them into cheese.

4. 7 is at home playing video games, suddenly the gaming device sucks them into the game, what happens next?

Snizzi likes playing fighting games. Upon finding himself within Mortal Kombat, he IMMEDIATELY goes all "schoolgirl" for a few minutes, squealing happily upon coming face to face with his HEROES. Unfortunately when he tells everyone else about his adventure, they say it's totally ridiculous.

"C'MON! You believed Junior's story about the crazy bombing muppet, why not mine?"

"Because your's is just ridiculous. NOBODY beats Subzero!"

5. 1, 2, and 3 got really hammered, you find them wandering on the street and you take them to your house. What happens in the next 10 minuets?

Well, I'd never drink, but upon seeing White and Grey are hammered and singing "Nobody Knows How Dry I Am" in the worst rendition I've ever heard, I grab them by their ears and dunk their heads in buffalo wing sauce.

THAT wakes them up. They're not too happy though, so I have to RUN...

6. 10 goes goth.

...can you PICTURE Gothic Page?

"Life is pain. Happiness drowns in the dark, dark sea. Praise God."

Yeah. Wrong. VERY WRONG

7. Yumi-chu tries to sell all the OC’s Yaoi (not Yuri) DVD’s does anyone buy any?

Are you bleepin' kiddin?!? No!

Except White. But he's a pervert.

8. OH MY GAWD! IT’S HANNAH MONTANA!!!!
Heartwing, DL and Junior all hug her...Nick included. White rolls his eyes and wonders HOW he could be related to this moron.

9.No wait, I’m sorry...IT’S EDWERD CULLEN!!!!!
Well, now all the kids jump back and WHITE shakes his hand. "You're a stylish person." He compliments. "And I'd like your autograph." White would go gay for Edward Cullen.

10. 9 eat 7 who is 6 afraid of now?

If Green DID eat Snizzi, Junior would wet his pants and cry.

"But he doesn't wear pants."

Doesn't need 'em.

"...ah."

11. 8 got a job for a GIECO commercial, and for some reason they have to be in their underwear. Does he/she have a BF or does something else happen?

Staccato is a bioroid. An advanced Robot Master. He doesn't WEAR underwear. So they couldn't use him. Which was too bad...it mighta been fun.<...

Well, guess what? There's something else that works along those lines and is just as funny, an idea that I've gotten from :IconFishlover:. Here's how it works: just list 20 songs in iTunes/Winamp/whatever you use, put it on shuffle or "random" and then simply add "in my pants" at the end of the title!

Now...we begin!

1. I'm with You In My Pants.
2. Hand Me Down In My Pants.
3. Don't Look Back In Anger In My Pants.
4. Chasers In My Pants.
5. Story Left Untold In My Pants.
6. The Bush Barber In My Pants. (This sounds VERY wrong. )
7. Eleanor Rigby In My Pants. (This sounds WORSE.)
8. Boogie With My Baby In My Pants.
9. The Difference In My Pants.
10. It Doesn't Matter In My Pants.
11. Just What I Needed In My Pants.
12. Christmas Don't Be Late In My Pants.
13. I Am A Rock In My Pants. (This sounds SUPER wrong.)
14. Burning Love In My Pants. (This actually sounds like a porn film. Posterity and Elvis forgive me.
15. What's My Age Again In My Pants.
16. Descendant of Shinobi In My Pants. (What did Yuffie do to deserve THIS!?!
17. Burn Goody Clinton In My Pants. (What did HILARY do to deserve this?!)
18. School Day In My Pants.
19. Very Melon In My Pants. (This is probably the stupidest name for a song EVER. EVER!
20. Come Back to Texas In My Pants.

Now it's your turn! Rinse and repeat.

So...at around 1:50 I went to class.

I came back around...3:20. I discover...my laptop and JUST my laptop...is gone from the library cubicle I left it in.

And there's a note.

"OH DARNIT!"

Yes, this is exactly how it reads.

"Your laptop has gone on vacation! Before you find it, he has asked you to run five errands before you pick him up! Your first assignment is to go to call number KF27 .J858 1988a and your reward will be in page 69."

I figured it out, after going to the security office and doing a police report, that this was a book number. A guard found a second note...

"Congratulations! I LIKE PIE. SO DO LESBIAN NUNS! Don't forget to pick up some whipped cream before you to find this next book! Go find the book titled Immodest Acts: The Life of a Lesbian Nun in Renaissance Italy and in there yoiu will find your next clye."

Then I went over to the library to begin my scavenger hunt. Needless to say...I was a angry, I kept repeating the mantra "I'll get 'em, I'll get 'em".

"Good job, dumbass! Son takes his father to a doctor. Doctor gives them the bad news that the father is dying of cancer. Father tells son that he has had a good long life and wants to stop at the bar on the way home to celebrate it. While at the bar, the father sees several of his friends. He tells them he is dying of AIDS. When the friends leave the son asks "Dad, you are dying of cancer, why did you tell them you are dying of AIDS?" The father replies, "I don't want them fucking your mother after I'm gone!" Go to call number RA643.8 .S75 2006 for your next clue!"

Stiiiiill mad...

"You have successfully survived AIDS!!! Baby, you make my floppy disk turn into a hard drive. Go to find this book in the reference section: AQ76.76.D47 1545 1992."

This was a really sick scavenger hunt. I remained as calm as I could be and found the next note.

"This quest must have made you sweaty. Go take a shower after you find this next book. Its completely safe, I swear nothing will go wrong in the shower like it did when the Jews were in Auschwitz. If that even happened...go find the book titled "Holocaust Denial" by Kenneth Stern."

Uno, dos, tres, quatro...

CINCO.

"Welcome, true believer!!! Your quest is almost done. For your dedicated years of service to the truth, we send you to our devout and beloved leader, your laptop. He's hanging out with Picasso right now in the Oversize Book Collection. Go to call number N6853.P5 A4 1991 and claim your prize!"

And there it was.A late April Fools Day Prank. I'm...slightly...annoyed...I was pestered by an unknown individual and I've no real idea who.

Though I can guess. And if it's who I think it is...

^_^

Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
2. Liberal Quaker (88%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (75%)
4. Orthodox Quakers (74%)
5. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (68%)
6. Eastern Orthodox (67%)
7. Roman Catholic (67%)
8. Seventh Day Adventist (65%)
9. Neo-Pagan (61%)
10. Reform Judaism (61%)
11. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (57%)
12. Secular Humanism (55%)
13. Hinduism (53%)
14. Jehovah's Witness (52%)
15. New Age (50%)
16. Orthodox Judaism (50%)
17. Mahayana Buddhism (49%)
18. Sikhism (48%)
19. Theravada Buddhism (47%)
20. Scientology (44%)
21. Baha'i Faith (43%)
22. Islam (41%)
23. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (38%)
24. Jainism (34%)
25. New Thought (34%)
26. Taoism (32%)
27. Nontheist (26%)

I'm glad nontheism is last. There are worse things to believe in than God, than Love, than Peace, than Magic, than Humanity...it's important to just BELIEVE. I mean, I got it on a t-shirt for all to see!

Funny thing...I'm a baptized Catholic. My grandma did it herself back when I was reaaaally little to me, but not to my brother. I think that was another reason why we're so different and why I always felt this personal conncection to the spiritual world.

The Quaker bit came as a surprise...but not too much, I suppose. Years ago, I read "The Big Book of Peace", specifically a story about Seth McLaughlin. I thought the story might be interesting because of his funny last name.

Yeah...it was interesting. He wouldn't go off to war because he joined the Quakers. Nor would he pay a fine for them to find somebody else. So they threw him in jail, bayonetted him, beat him up and starved him and demanded he pay the fine or go to war and he continued to refuse. Eventually the warden felt so guilty about it all he ordered him released, but when they got to his cell...

Seth was already dead.

...that's one of the reasons why I respect people who hate killing. They're so willing not to kill that they themselves are willing to die to keep that belief. Even now I cry a little thinking about that true story.

Well...hope you put the quiz to some use.

If not for him and Mark Lee and my caring teachers, my experience at Squadron Line woulda been awful. I was teased so much.
White: Ooh, that’s when I was born! He had so many people who drove him crazy…he HATED the things they did to him!
Grey: Elementary was a bit of a flawed experience for me just like it was with my dad and mom, but between the two of them there was NOTHING I wasn’t ready for!
Nick: It’s important to make a few truly good friends you’ll always remember. And I got my first girlfriend in Second Grade!

007.
Thanks to from whom I got this meme. Here's how it works:

1.) Choose anywhere from 2 to 8 of your characters and match them up with a song.
2.) Give a description to why this song matches your character.
3.) Tag somebody!

1. Nick Grey
2. Michael White
3. Grey Nicholas Pelekai
4. Darth
5. Charlie
6. Frequency
7. Vassago
8. Zack

1. Nick's biggest theme song is "Reach", by Caleigh Peters. Why? Because quite simply his whole grand adventure is that he is accomplishing dreams that are amazingly big, and no matter how hard things get, he continues to reach for his dreams. The song sums him up perfectly. [link]
There are two other songs that might fit him: Moving Forward by Hoobastank to emphasize how he continues to try no matter how many mistakes he makes. [link]
And the last one is "I Fly" by Hayden Panettiere, also for self-explanatory reasons. [link]

2. Michael White, or White's got "A-W-E-SO-M-E", because he thinks so highly of himself that he has to have an equally amazing (in his opinion) song to fit his self. [link]
Another good song that fits him is "It's Only Me", which is essentially a song about how amazing the singer thinks he is. And the video for it kind of fits: it's got anti-hero-esque Axel! [link]

3. Grey, ah. "Poor Unfortunate Souls", when remixed around has proved good to him. In the past he was pretty dang wild but over time got better and less dangerous. [link]
Another good one that works would definitely be "Real Wild Child" by one of my favorite bands, Everlife. Let's face it, he's willing to eat the bad guys alive. He IS a wild one! [link]

4. Darth is an Irken alien unable to see and acts as though he's unable to feel sympathy or kindness to boot, but Nick thinks of him as a perfect example of an Irken: he doesn't understand the consequences of what Irken conquest mean to the Universe and he's selfish and overly devoted to a flawed system, confused and unable to completely understand what it means to have a "heart". And yet because he has so much raw POTENTIAL, just like the other Irkens, Nick is always blinded when he sees him, seeing the immense good that he and the Irken race can do. [link]

5. Charlie's an innocent kid who wouldn't hurt a fly, not even if he sat on it. He also loves airplanes, helping people out, being nice to others and playing. In the end when one looks at him, he's remained consistent in his goodness and innocent. I first imagined him when I heard the song "Charlie's Sky" by Icehouse and had this image of a blond-haired, blue-eyed little kid...the rest is history. "You don't forget about heroes...you simply shake their hands and then you watch them wave goodbye. One night there's a new star...up in Charlie's Sky!"

6. Frequency was imagined when listened to "Into the Airwaves" by Jack's Mannequin. I had never made a bounty hunter character before and I was wondering what a bounty hunter would be like if he was not only nice, but "surfer-boy" nice? A guy who spouted surfing lingo in between trying to break your neck...nice. And the song fits his power, his ability to surf through the waves of all kinds, be they ocean waves, airwaves from radio or TV, etc! [link]

7. Vassago, a "noble demon" from Hell has many tasks, one of them is guiding people to their places in Hell. He knows the ins and outs of Hell, all of the portals, as it were. But it is more than that. He is one who reveals shocking secrets, opening up doorways to the truth, even if you don't want to know them. Hence his theme song is "The Passportal" by Team Sleep. Furthermore, it sounds cool and fits his sort of bad-ass, standing-...

A Guide to Sues!

I think it's time I addressed something that all of you...or perhaps NONE of you...might know about.

Sues. Now what is a "Sue"? Well there is a "Peggy Sue", which gives a character a chance to relive their lives somehow with the knowledge they've gained from living it once before. They might end up dying and then get a second chance to live their life the way it ought to be, to get married to their childhood sweetheart or finally do some good in their life. You could say "Yusuke Urameshi" was sort of like a Peggy Sue...he got to come back to life after dying to save a child and learned something from his experience as a ghost. He got a free pass, essentially.

But the Sues I speak of are...Mary Sues. Now I personally believe a Mary Sue is a writing tool that, if used correctly, can make a good story. But what IS a Mary Sue? Or a Marty Stu?

Well a Mary or Marty is a person who's idealized. As a general rule they seem to be overly perfect author avatars who will have exotic eye colors or big bosoms or cool names. They'll get all the girls or guys, they'll be able to do ANYTHING they want and always get away with it. No bad things EVER befall them. The entire story revolves around them in some form.

But is it always? No. There are differnt KINDS of Sues. Like these!

BLACK HOLE SUE
Holy cow, the girl has the worst bad guys eating out of her paw! She got a rude student to eat an eraser! She just punched the bully out and everyone CHEERED and she'll never get sent to the principal's office! Everything in the story serves as plot enablers for him or her. They'll always accomplish what they seek out to do with ease and flying colors and nothing ever goes wrong for them.

PURITY SUE
Along comes a cute little character whom everybody cares about. Usually it's a female who's overly positive, cheerful and loving who is mild-mannered and kind, yet everyone wants to listen to their advice. She's a passive motivator who gets EVERYONE to listen to her, and I mean EVERYONE, usually just by offering advice or smiling slightly. She or he would NEVER get angry at anyone. That's just mean! (Pouts)

GOD MODE SUDE
Hmm, how best to put this...this is somebody has ridiculous amounts of power who just seems to be there to remind everyone else of how incredibly powerless they are compared to him or her. It's like he's a Power Ranger who's always wearing a Battleyzer or whatnot. A good example of this is "Tintin", who's a fantastic detective, a great fighter, knows a ridiculous amount of languages and can drive any vehicle with little or no practice AND picks up any skill with little to no time at all.

JERK SUE
Courtesy? What is this "Kurtis-Zee" you speak of? These guys are, quite simply, assholes. They don't play nice. They don't fight fair. They are bitter, confrontational and if you don't get the hell out of your way, you're gonna get thrown HELLUVA far. These guys tend to be "Karma Houdinis", they never really get punished for walking over others, even their own allies, because they're referred to as "spirited" or "rowdy" instead of "bitchy" or a "steroid-pumping bastard".

RELATIONSHIP SUE
He has a girlfriend now! He has a girlfriend now! He has a girlfriend now, he said "Canon don't do it for me"! Ha-ha-ha! Usually this is a girl who was made for a specific character in canon to be his perfect other. They'll get a character fawning over their every move, and even those who aren't in love with them will generally like them. If the Relationship Sue takes a canon character away from a canon love interest, it'll make that canon character turn evil, or act in a "I want my significant other to be happy" fashion. Keep a lookout for somebody ridiculously hot-bodied!

SYMPATHETIC SUE
Oh, it's HORRIBLE! He hurt his little paw! His girlfriend ran away! His parents shot themselves! His brother molested him twice! Quick, stop him before he slits his wrists! These poor suckers will always blame themselves for their horrible pasts to a RIDICULOUS level. "It was my fault mom and dad died in the plane crash when I was three months old"! Usually these guys exist solely for you to feel bad for them. They will NEVER get over the pain themselves. EVER. Another character will have to do it for them. And that IS sad.

ANTI SUE
Okay, you say a Sue shouldn't be idealized? Meet the Anti-Sue, who kicks puppies after roasting them in BBQ sauce, who enjoys slitting her wrists and yelling at anyone who tries to help her, and who is obsessively compulsive about, say, Marilyn Manson! But wait...people STILL like her despite of all these ridiclous traits! This is a character who's all spice without ANYTHING nice to redeem her at all. They're too perfectly BAD. At least an Anti-Hero might have a sense of honor or feel some regret for hurting others...Anti Sue...

I think it's about time I did one of these for my stories. I was inspired by how did it, so...

1. Nick gets into the Pokémon series, introduced to it by his brother. His avatar gains a life of it's own and lives out a fantastic adventure, then partially returns to Nick, but not before splitting himself up into half, one half of which remains behind in the Pokémon world as a memory. When the other half is returned to Nick some time later, he remembers his adventures in the Pokémon world. Hints of the grand exploits that took place appear in "Pokémon: Truth", for that is what Nick first learns...the universal concepts that exist for TRUTH.

2. Nick, who has no memory of what happened in the Pokémon world, goes to see "Viewtiful Joe: The Movie" with his best friend and his family...all of whom are randomly kidnapped by the villains from Joe's world. Nick rushes into the silver screen to bring them back and succeeds, making friends with Joe and the gang and befriending the large cast of the Viewtiful Joe world known as "Movieland". In this world, he learns the lessons of HEROISM.

3. Nick lands in the world of Lilo and Stitch and manages to win over the Pelekai household. His eccentric but compassionate personality gets him involved in many crazy adventures and he ends up accidentally falling in love with Lilo along the way. It's during this that he meets Rupert Jacques von Hamsterviel, who becomes a very good friend and who will one day, along with Nick, become a member of the "Major Arcana" along with Lilo. Nick convinces experiment 621 to join Lilo's ohana and aids Lilo and Stitch in sending Leroy to jail, finding Rueben a home and converting 561 to good. He and experiment 620, Page, will become future members of the "Major Arcana" along with the lovable green dragon Heartwing, experiment 421 and the innocent, kind-hearted Charlie. In this world Nick learns the lessons that come from FAMILY.

4. While out on a walk to a reservoir, Nick accidentally stumbles into a portal to the endless abyss that the demon sorcerers from Jackie Chan Adventures live in. He soon escapes and finds the Book of Ages and originally seeks to use it to erase one of the demons from existence by beating them in the past, but he ends up befriending them and soon he, the demons AND the Chan clan go on a wild adventure all across the globe to bring the Bell of the Heavens back, which will allow God to speak once more. In this adventure Nick meets the wise King the Snake, who is a magus and member of the "Major Arcana" along with Shin Dell. And more importantly, Nick learns the lessons of FRIENDSHIP.

5. Ridley gets into a fight with Samus Aran on a deserted space station and is certain he'll die. Instead what happens is an unusual human shows up out of nowhere and nurses him to health. Torn between fulfilling his duty as a Pirate to not show mercy and his own personal honor code that insists he spare the nice kid who helped him, Ridley ends up being grateful when he, the kid and Samus Aran face down Dark Samus, who tries to destroy the whole space station. In the end, they all end up trusting each other and work together to escape from being lost in a black hole, and Samus and Ridley gain some respect for each other as rivals. In this story, Nick learns and helps OTHERS learn the importance of TRUST.

6. Kirby loves to eat in the same way you and I love to breathe. But his eating's gotten out of control...now he STEALS to get the food he wants. King Dedede has had enough and puts him on a diet, having a human trainer help him out. Then DEDEDE finds out HE'S going on the diet with Kirby too! What starts out as a simple attempt to eat less and exercise turns into silly hijinks and a fun camping trip as Tiff, Tuff, Knuckle Joe, Meta-Knight, Kirby and Dedede head out into the wilds of Dreamland with a human kid to teach Kirby a lesson, and both Kirby AND the human do learn one! The lesson...of TEMPERANCE.

7. Nick has opened up a super-store thanks to the power of the Golden Chaos Emerald, and has been able to mass produce chaos emeralds that grant wishes! Providing Sonic and his friends with all the goods they need...and unfortunately an OPENING for villains of all shapes and sizes. King once more appears, traveling the worlds and providing wisdom as best he can. Michael White, an anti-hero albino member of the Trinity and future member of the "Major Arcana" appears as a result of Nick being slain by Metal Sonic. In the end Sonic and his many friends, new and old, overcome impossible odds and, along with Nick, learn the lessons that COURAGE can teach.

8.
It's time I broke it all down! Who's who in "Alternate Fate: Fantasy"! I plan to answer every single question about the different characters and places and events in this journal.

MAIN CHARACTERS:
NICK GREY AND CHOPSUEY

A 12 year old book keeper, Nick was left on his own to fend for himself with an inheritance that he used to get by. Staying on the island of Niihau, he had few true friends until he met Chopsuey, experiment 621. Chops allowed him to develop his genius and his bravery in a contest that truly tested your limits. But it was not Nick alone who learned something: Chops had always wanted his father, Jumba Jookiba, to think of him as good and useful, but he'd been overshadowed by 626. As such, he'd wanted revenge. NOW Chopsuey has a sense of compassion and honor, and sees 626 as a grand challenge, not a hated nemesis. AND he's always happy to help out other people in need. Their spells resolve around the use of powers that are focused either into aura attacks that are launched from the fists like "Iadeo", (A combination of "I" and the Latin word for "strike") or the use of tools, such as "Percutio" (I pierce).

YUUKU HANAKO AND CRYSTALLENE
Yuuku Hanako met up with Crystallene not long after the female experiment encountered her old friend AND boyfriend, Tank. She had initially thought that nobody in the competition could stay friends, but upon seeing her old and dear friend Page, experiment 620, she quickly changed her mind. Yuuku hails from Japan, specifically from the island of Okinawa. And yes, I based her off of "Yuna" from the "Stitch!" anime. Yuuku is devoted to making sure Crystallene isn't sent back and thinks very highly of her dear friend. Their powers are all based off of shields created by beautiful and precious gemstones. (Contego means "I shield", for example) However some of her spells do other things, like "Ministro Socius" (To Serve the People), which heals. Crystallene also has a nickname: "Stranga-Leen Crystallene", because if you get her REALLY pissed she'll throttle you!

DR. RUPERT JACQUES VON HAMSTERVIEL AND PAGE
Dr. Rupert was a doctor who not only helped Jumba out with developing experiments, but he screwed up in an operation. His own child died under the knife and he had sworn to never get involved with another...so as to never fail them. Then he met 620, Page. Deciding to make 620 a champion who would help Jumba realize that emotions like kindness, compassion, innocence...and faith...weren't flaws. He swore to make Page wise, to be able to minister to all his "cousins". Page's spells were centered around holy power (Votum means prayer or a vow to God) and sadly, he was sent back in a fight against one of the four strongest of the Fanon Line experiments, Sketch. Innocent, loving and caring, the choir boy fought to the very end to protect his beloved doctor and the others.

ARTHUR SPUDINSKI, AKA SPUD AND MORPHOLOMEW
Arthur Spudinksi, aka Spud, is a child prodigy, a movie star, a famous musician...but you can't tell from LOOKIN' at him! He looks and acts a lot like a slacker...but in reality, he's got a lot of intelligence underneath that weird cap he wears. Morpholomew's equally deceptive in appearance...although he looks like some stupid red blob, 316, aka Morpholomew or Morph, as Spud likes to call him, is pretty helpful. He can transform his appearance into anything he wants (Variare is Italian for change), can make himself look bigger and many other spells. His nickname is "Moaning Morpholomew" because he has a reputation as being a big pants-wetting crybaby coward. However he has a great devotion to his friends and a hidden courage within his small form...and he and Spud are a great source of comic relief!

DUDE AND HEARTWING
Dude is dude. He's stoned out, he's strung out, his urine test would reveal "trace" amounts of actual urine, and yet...he's got great wisdom within him, and a large heart. He also seems to be able to understand everything that Heartwing's saying...well, MOST of what he says. AND he's great with animals! Heartwing is a cure little green dragon who loves everyone and everybody...AND eating ice cream, chasing after butterflies and playing. He didn't want to be in the fight, he was VERY reluctant, but because he has a desire to punish evil within him that means he's got a big fighting spirit lying in wait. Yet he is an "Insons", an innocent. He hates needless suffering and if it were up to him, he'd give the whole world a big hug and have everyone sit in a circle and sing songs as they held hands.

JENNY AND CARMEN
Jenny's mother and father used to own a garbage company. They believed in equality and fair treatment and employed many minority workers...then the city they worked in gave minority-owned companies preference in city contracts and their parents lost their employees in a matter...

How does it work? Simple! Put your music program on shuffle, then you write stuff to the first 10 songs that pop up! You can only write while the song plays. And I ended up doing 12 because I got so caught up in this. Cool beans!

Let's get it started!

Boston, by Augustana

He sat there on the beach, looking up at the stars, blinking a few times. He sighed as he closed his eyes, then drew his legs up, wrapping his arms around them and burying his face down.

The sky around him got darker and darker, but eventually he was approached.

"Hair-beast?"

Nick looked up, turning his head. "...hi." He said softly, looking back at the stars.

"Why are you...you've been crying." Zim realized.

"...I never said you weren't smart." Nick mumbled.

"This behavior is unusual. And you yourself are VERY unusual. What's the problem, hair-beast?" Zim inquired.

"...I always believed that as long as I was a good person...a kind person who tried to help others..."

As he spoke, he could see in the stars visions of himself and...and her. Kelsey. Dancing, happy, smiling...a normal romance. The way things ought to have been.

"As long as I was good to others I could take anything that came my way. But...it HURTS like it's never hurt before in my heart." Nick said quietly. "I just..." He closed his eyes and tears squeaked out. "What am I supposed to do when it hurts this much?"

"...I wish I was good at this." Zim said as he sat down. "But...do you want me to tell you about those stars?"

"...you know their names?" Nick asked.

"...yes." Zim said proudly, noticing Nick was smiling a little. "I do."

Savin' Me, by Nickelback

"LET...ME...OUT!"

Nick shouted, banging on the walls of his cell. "You can't keep me in here! It's not RIGHT!"

He finally realized nobody was listening. He groaned and covered his face as he slid down the wall of the cell. Caught by the Irkens. DAMN YOU, ZIM! You TRAITOR!

He was stuck. He looked out the window on the other side and out into the night, seeing hovercars pass by in the city...but even though he was SURE they could see the human in the window, nobody was going to help him.

"Someone, help." He hoped quietly. He felt an anger rising in him and he began to punch the walls, banging and screaming as his fury became sorrow and he sank to the ground, sobbing...

A jingling. His head shot up. He slowly turned around.

"Let's go."

...

...

...

...running, running. Sneaking by the guards, they finally made it to the exit. He raced out the doors and down the sidewalk, and finally came to a halt. He put the one that had helped him free down and nodded. "I'll always remember this." He said. He placed his hand on his head and nodded, then walked away.

As Skoodge walked the nice kid walk away, he saw something he hadn't seen before...a rainbow glimmer surrounding his body. How odd. He shrugged, then headed back for the prison facility to report that SOMEHOW the prisoner had gotten free and was long gone off the planet...

Nick turned his head slightly, seeing the light blue aura that now surrounded Skoodge, making his form stand out amongst the unglowing others that he pushed by. He smiled at this, then turned back around, wishing the best for his fellow Wonder.

I Still Love You, the Squirts

Zim frowned as Keef waved eagerly at him, prompting the usual "He's GAAAAAAY" response from Gay-Dar Dan. He tried to ignore Keef and headed to his seat as Nick began his lesson on the very messy Korean war. To illustrate the conditions that doctors had been forced to deal with, he told them he'd brought in some videos from a show called "MASH"...

POINK!

Zim picked something from off the ground and unfolded the paper airplane to see the message "I Wubs You" from Keef, with a happy Keef and him holding hands. He crumpled it up and frowned angrily.

At lunch, Keef tried to sit next to him. Zim kept inching away every time Keef scooted closer...in fact, he inched his way right off the seat! PLOMP! Now his food was scattered all over the ground and everyone was laughing at him.

Soon it came time for school to end. He noticed Keef was walking RIGHT behind him. Finally reaching his breaking point, he turned around and shouted. "GO AWAY!!!"

Keef just smiled as Zim walked off. "Though you'll never say you do...I still love you." He thought to himself. And with that, he headed to his house to go make Zim some scones.

Mony Mony by...

He's HEEEEERE!

I'm sitting in my suite at college and watching Barack Obama and Joe Biden on the television and Barack shall soon be sworn in!

People booed a LOT when Bush and Cheney showed up. Kinda serves them right though. I'm amazed to see Obama so serene and peaceful. It's like...he's sort of trying to keep as calm as possible but on the inside he's probably whooping it up almost as much as the people who are cheering for him to be sworn in at the Inauguration!

People wave flags and sing and cheer and laugh...there's so many SMILES, so much sheer JOY in the air. And there's as many people around...maybe MORE...as there were on the day Martin Luther King spoke his "I Have A Dream" speech!

It's so amazing...on the day after we celebrate MLK, we elect a black president.

I feel so proud of America right now. I feel like we've really matured. Like we've really changed. Suddenly there's so many possibilities before us. There's...

There's HOPE. And I've missed seeing hope in other people.

And here he comes. Everyone waving their flags as one. The band is playing at the top of their lungs and Barack...

You know, there's a way to tell if somebody's smile is fake. There's a TINY bit of cheek-raising that occurs to reveal genuineness. And he's got it right now.

...this is history in the making. And I'm WATCHING it!

This...is...AWWWWEEEESOOOOOMMMMEEEEE!!!

I...I just...oh God, the invocation alone is making me cry...

I'm developing a new overlapping story arc for my Invader Zim story on FF.NET. Here's the link to the first chapter, for those interested: [link]

Anyhow, the long, season-overlapping story arc is that of POWERS...specifically magical powers, "superhero" stuff. Dib begins to notice that there are things going on around him that go beyond the realm of alien and into the supernatural, into the magical reality that is hiding underneath the veil of normalcy. And bit by bit, he's introduced to Wonders.

What is a Wonder, you ask?

A human! A new wonder of the world, a human with special skills! The ability to generate fire and hover in the air so as to "doom" another, the ability to survive a terrible elevator crash, the skill to do acrobatic feats and survive the most terrible of injuries, it's no coincidence. Dib soon realizes that the people around him have POWERS!

And the thing about a Wonder is...when they die, the power goes to somebody else. From tragedy will come new beginnings and hope, from heartbreak and despair will come triumph and compassion. Ultimately it will all come together in the final story arc when those that possess powers, all of the Wonders, come together in a great and mighty showdown. But when it's all over...who will be left still alive?

Wait and see.

I won't ever forget Nonno. Thanks to a little heirloom I will carry his memory around with me forever. I think that it's helped me stay sane, having a piece of his soul with me.

I got this from . Hope you enjoy it.

A - Accent: Gee, I don't really HAVE an accent, though I can imitate others.
B - Belly size: Why the HECK did it have to be "Belly Size"? Granted I am a couple pounds overweight but not for long!
C - Chore you hate: Anything, ANYTHING...to do with the toilets. This, I believe, is a universally hated chore. Who LIKES cleaning the toilets?
D - Dream: I'd like everyone to live in the good kind of peace that comes from love, compassion, honor and doing the right thing.
E - Essential make-up item: This...kinda...sounds like a girly question. I dunno what to say...uh...I know! Deodorant!
F - Favourite memories: ...I can still recall...that great Christmas...I still see it all! It was the BIGGEST tree in the world, towering up to the ceiling at our house on Okemo, all decorated and glowing, like...like some beautiful green and golden stairway to heaven!
G - Gold or silver: SILVER, baby!
H - Hometown: Simsbury. WEST Simsbury.
I - Insomnia: I need some sleep! Ya can't go on like this! Tried countin' sheep...but there's one I always miss! I keep waking up at bad times in the night. It's an annoying habit!
J - Job title: Student. For now.
K - Kids: Ah, that would be a wonderful thing to have my own ohana
L - Living arrangements: Currently I'm in college. In a suite. God, I miss my hometown.
M - Musical taste: I am not a "gourmet" or a "gourmand". I just listen to whatever I like an can appreciate many genres. But to be honest, country and rap music are a toss-up when it comes to "worst genres in the world". On the one hand, country music has given us the worst titles for songs EVER, like "She Got The House and I Got the Finger" while Rap music gave us the worst lyrics like "Do it with your b****h until somebody dies". That's...NOT...POETRY!!!
N - Number of pets you've had: Three fish, rest their souls, one poodle...oh GOD I miss Cocoa! He...he was also my Nonno's dog but they wouldn't let him keep him at the nurisng home, so...we took him in until-
(Composes himself) And one...one dog right now.
O - Overnight hospital stays: None, I bounce back VERY quickly from getting sick. I've never even had any surgery.
R - Religious affiliation: Christian. Is that enough for you?
S - Siblings: One younger brother. Isn't it ironic that because we spend less time with each other we've grown closer? Ironic AND sad.
T - Time you wake up: If I'm lucky, after 4. If not, usually 2:30. Then I gotta stay drifting in and out of conciousness for a few hours before being forced to get up.
U - Unnatural hair colors you've worn: GREEN! For Halloweeeeeen! XD
V - Vegetable you refuse to eat: Okra. Disgusting. Spinach. Disgusting. Salad. DISGUSTING!!! Friggin' rabbit food!
W - Worst habit: Uh...er...I guess...I bite my nails...pretty...often. And...nose picking. I'm working on them, really! We ALL have flaws!
X - X-rays you've had: Chest and teeth. That's it.
Y - Yummy foods you make: If it can be fried, it can be tried and you will LOVE my burgers and my sandwiches and the pancakes I will make for you!
Z - Zodiac sign: This is the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius, Age of Aquarius! Name 3 aspects of your personality?

Eccentric
Compassionate
Melodramatic

13. If you could have a power what would it be?

Powers that are based off the power of song! "Burning Love" might summon fire, an army song might call a tank down from the Heavens...pretty cool idea, huh?

14. Who was the last person you talked to?

My mom.

15. Who was the last person you said "I love you" to?

Last night it was my dog Jessie, then before that my Brother, then before that my Mom.

16. Write the first five things that pop into your head?

Holiday
Peace
Brother
Song
Jesus

17. What are the things you wish you could do better?

I wish it was easier for me to "get" Math. It would solve a lot of problems for me.

18. Do you like who you are?

I like myself enough. But I want to keep improving. Humanity is a work-in-progress, I myself am NO exception.

19. Summer or winter?

BOTH. The way the snow falls down in the night, so pure and beautiiful and gentle...it's one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced. And Summer...I have so many wonderful memories of spending time with my family, playing at Six Flags and getting wet, biking around, the wind in my face, and spending time hanging with my friends.

20. Rain or sun?

Sun. Let it shine!

21. List 2 odd things about yourself?

I do tend to overreact negatively to some things if they affect me badly, even if they are trivial.

Well, I like to sing out loud. And I dress in tie-dye, complete with pants!

22. Pop or Hip hop?

Pop. Hip-Hop used to have some meaning, but now it's "Do it with your b***h until somebody dies". That's NOT poetry.

23. How many scars do you have?

None...though I've got a permanent bruised-up spot on my leg from an old injury sustained due to a rope swing incident.

24. Do you wear spiked wristbands, Collars & belts?

Wha-WHAT?! NO!

25. Do you own anything from Hot Topic?

I didn't even know what Hot Topic was until a couple years ago. So...nope.

25. Windows or Mac?

Windows.

26. Nyc Trpp or Lip Service?

Uh, what ARE those?!

27. What brand of stereo/Amp do you own?

I got a video Ipod, does that count?
...

The series is amazing. And I decided to do what hadn't been done before...turning the cartoon into a fanfiction series! It won't just feature the fully-createdepisodes though...but all of the partially-made episodes and even some of my own ideas that I'll turn into sort of "movies" or "specials".

It also stars a few OCs, who don't really play that big of a role until in later chapters. It's part of the "Grand Tour" that Nick's undergoing, since he has important duties as the "Narrator" of the Invader Zim realm. It contains plenty of action, exploration of many themes, lots of doomy goodness, romance and also some serious drama from multiple perspectives.

I plan to break the series up into about 5 seasons, with each season being made up of 12 episodes. I'm already more than halfway finished with Season 1, all of it's up on Fanfiction.Net, and if you're interested in checking it out, here's the link!

Invader Zim, The Series

Michael White: Sonic the Hedgehog
4. Lord of the Dreamtime: Lilo and Stitch
5. Staccato: Mega Man
6. Rebecca: Mega Man
7. Samael: Lilo and Stitch
8. Nick: All-Inclusive
9. Lee: Invader Zim
10. King: Sonic the Hedgehog (Well, mostly)

1) 4 invites 3 and 8 to dinner at their house. What happens?

Lord of the Dreamtime: Dig in, everyone. I made you lamb chops, shepherd's pie, chicken wings...I caught them all this morning and killed 'em myself. Oh, don't give me that look Nick, they were all free range, "happy" cows and such.
White: GIMME! Mmm, now this is good eating!
Nick: HEY! That's MY buffalo chicken wing. Now you put that down or be prepared to wrestle.
White: Who ordered a serving of whoop-ass? I think YOU did!
(Huge fight breaks out. A plate is knocked through the air and hits the wall)
Lord of the Dreamtime: Sigh...what a tragic waste of melon balls...

2) 9 tries to get 5 to go to a strip club.
Lee: Everyone say that this is what a guy needs to go to to become a man. I can't see it, so could you just tell me what they're doing?
Staccato: Oh my God! They've gone WILD! Volume Four. GOD NO LIKEY, GOD NO LIKEY!...but they're...showing off their boobies...cuz they're so DRUNK...
Lee: I'm not even able to see but I'm still getting a b--er from this...

3) You need to stay at a friends house for the night. Do you choose 1 or 6?
Darth has a streak of cruelty in him. Rebecca, on the other hand, is a spunky can-do nice girl. I'll go with HER.

4) 2 and 7 are making out. 10 walks in...Their reaction?
King: DEAR GOD! WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE SEVEN HEAVENS?!
Samael: Oh, I'm just having a little fun...
King: You got him to drop his guard by threatening a child again, didn't you?
Samael: Yep.
King: And now you're making him go gay.
Samael: Yes. If you promise not to tell him and I swear to wipe his mind of the incident later I'll let you take pictures!
King:...Holy.
Samael: AAA! IT BURNS US!

5) 3 falls in love with 6. 8 is jealous. What happens?
White: Hold me, squeeze me, say you love me, baby lay those lips upon me.
Nick: She's not gonna FALL for him!...would she?...

SMACK!

White: PROOF! PROOF that even half-breeds are capable of moments of wild abandoment!
Nick: But you're half chaos...
White: Shut up! You're just jealous because I got closer than you ever did to touching a girl!

6) 4 jumps you in a dark alleyway. Who comes to your rescue? 10,2 or 7?
The Lord of the Dreamtime? Jumping ME? Maybe if he lost his mind, I guess. In that case, Grey would save me for sure. He's the amazing ruler of beasts with aura might!

7) 1 decides to start a cooking show. 15 minutes later what is happening?
Darth makes a cooking show that revolves around the use of chocolate in every kind of dish possible. After fifteen minutes the entire place smells like a "Munsons" store and he's GORGED himself on the chocolate. He blames Irken society because they're the ones who gave him a mouth.

8) 5 is in a car crash and is criticality injured. What does 9 do?
Lee: What's going on? I heard a crash and there's such an awful smell...
Staccato: Call...a...roboticist...I...can't...move legs...
Lee: Hold on. Is the car on fire?
Staccato: Yes...don't get closer...
Lee: What street is this?
Staccato: 89...Main...
Lee: Right! Be right back, sir!

9) 3 has to marry either 8,4 or 9. Who do they chose?
White decides to propose to me. Naturally being straight I shoot him down. White then goes after the idotic person who designed this meme to be inherently unfair towards same-sex couples and I join in just because I feel a kinship with fighting for equal rights. In the end, everyone joins hands across the universe, all married together. Happy ending. Don't you feel all warm and fuzzy yet?

10) 7 kidnaps 2 and demands something from 5 for 2's release. What is it?
He wants a green tea recipe that Staccato has. King LOVES green tea. And if doesn't get it, there will be magical HECK to pay!

11) You get to meet either 1 or 6. Who do you chose?
Rebecca would be my choice, mostly cuz I'm worried Darth might try to fiddle around with me to satisfy curiosity.

12) 10 challenges 4 to a chariot race. Why?
King: I challenge you, Lord of the Dreamtime! There can be only one...super-powerful snake person!
Lord of the Dreamtime: Very well...I accept your challenge!
King: Too bad you'll lose for sure. Look how BIG you are.
Lord of the Dreamtime: I'll get a really BIG chariot then! Please don't make fun of my weight...

13) Everyone gangs up o...

He stood up against the war, and his life is like a fairy tale that came true...SCREW YOU, CLINTON!

Therefore, it's only fair that I devote some time to both candidates...

Luckily for me, Roy Zimmerman knows how to help a guy like me out. Let's start with Barack!

1, 2, 3, 4!

Barack...Obama...has a funny name! Barack...Obama...has a funny name!
His name's Barack Obama...that's right, OBAMA!...sounds like "Osama"...
I'M JUST THE HUNDRED FORTY-SEVEN MILLIONTH PERSON TO HAVE MADE THAT IDIOTIC POINT!!!

And...his...middle name, middle name, aaa-aaa-aaaaand his middle name's Hussein!
Huuuuseeein...Not Saddam, but OBAM, when he was a kid he smoked a joint!
And he INHALED!
He smoked a joint...and INHALED, THAT-WAS-THE-POINT!
He also did cocaine!
His middle name's Hussein, he wants to be the POTUS and I wonder if you notice that Barack Hussein Obama has a funny name!?!

...Obama...is...the candidate of change!
He ought...to change...his name, it's pretty strange!
Why can't...he just be John or Steve? Or Bill or even George? Or anything but Sue!
And one more question is he black enough, yes is he black enough to be the president?!

Born in Honolulu...
(He's got kin in EVERY region!)
Schooled in Indonesia...
(He's a one man FOREIGN LEGION!)
He's...got...GAME!
And lots of hope, and lots of folk who feel the same!
And also did I mention quite a quirky name!
Cuz once you go Barack! You're never going BAHK!
BAHK! BARAAAACK!.....OBAMA!

...I am a silly person.

Soon I will be finished up with writing the arc of the Fanon line. Then I'm going to be developing other characters with some interesting stories...and then I'll move to a new arc, but that's a long way off.

I'm currently also working on new "portrait" pics for my "Trinity of Humanity" trio: the human self, the bestial self, the diabolical self. I've finished Nick's and put it up, now Grey and White remain. Then I want to try and do a picture of all of them in a sort of "natural" setting.

Also, as an added bonus, I've been working on a picture that will be a celebration of the many famous Lilo and Stitch artists, showing off their creations as part of one big ohana. Naturally I intend to make it super big and it will take a while, but I SHALL complete it!

PS: Two great movies: "Crash", a movie about racial tensions in LA with a "true" ring to it, and "October Sky", that has an tender plot and who's "Dreams of Boys" has always been a deep and personal favorite song of mine.
