Hi there!

It has been for a looooong time since I posted something here for the last time. But, the news are great and it's now time to share them with you!

First of, the Warscars.com (new official web site of that french grindcore band) is now up and running. Even if it's quite basic right now in terms of contents and functions, it's at least on-line and will be improved day and after day... But, more than all, I guess I can proudly pretend it to be the VERY FIRST Web site using the v1.5RC1 of the Joomla! framework to use that much the new templating capabilities of J!.

Yep, even if that's not that "evident" while browsing the site, people used to J! will see the clear difference in the layout output by the cmponents and modules and, for sure, that's a true landmark in Web design improvement for Kaos Grafix.

Talking of Kaos, besides improving warscars.com on a daily basis, we have several exciting projects we're working on right now:
- the Gronibard artwork for the re-release of their debut on LP (for Apathic View Productions)
- the re-vamping (Web 2.0 like) of kaosgrafix.com based on the new J! v1.5 framework
- a new, very very exciting project that we can't talk much about right now... but we will in some weeks / months, for sure!

As always, if you're interested in our work, just drop us a line at info@kaosgrafix.com !

Yours,

Hi there!

Well, just a quick update to let you know what's going on here at Kaos Grafix...

We're in the process of enhancing our web site in order to transform it from a DECENT web site to a GOOD one, and it takes time in development, testing and designing...

In the meantime, we've finished the layout for the Maggots CD Scrotum Jus Records from Singapore asked us. Maggots were a Dutch death / grind band and the layout (based on a Lou Rusconi artwork) is intended for their "discography" posthumous album titled "Dead and loving it". It might be released in April.

The "to-do" list still includes the following:
- Haemorrhage / W.T.N. split EP
- F.A.M. CD
- Warscars website
- Gronibard LP
- Altars of Gialo CD
- Scrotum Jus website
- Apathic View backdrop and web banner
- Zombie Ritual web banner
- Maggots web banner
- Scrotum Jus web banner...

More about all of this soon...

Hi there!

It's been a whole while since I didn't post new art on that page. Well, I'm done now!

As you can see on the left, the new KaosGrafix.com site is up and running and I'm quite proud of the final result, even is there are bugs to fix there and there and, most of all, have to replace all of the "transparent" .png files by good ol' .gifs as I recently dicovered all of Internet Explorer before 7.0 can't handle them correctly and replaces transparency by a (white?) background! Arg!

So, let's now concentrate on the next works... First came first served: Maggots "Dead and loving it" CD artwork.

It seems that each hour I spend in front of the computer is disappearing as if it has last for a second only... Tempus fugit!

Am I abducted by aliens each time I'm turning the computer or am I falling asleep each time I'm seeing the Win XP logo? Don't know, but the result is that I've received the final versions of the Zombie Ritual and Carnavage MCD's and, of course everyone knows each one of us can always do better, I'm very proud of them anyway.

Now, the "to-do" list consists in:
- Warscars website (soon)
- KaosGrafix website (one day

And plans for future works being discussed are involving:
- Maggots (NL) "Dead and loving it" CD
- Haemorrhage (ES) / WTN (SG) split pic. 7" EP
- F.A.M. (PL) "Bullet(in)" CD
the whole three for Scrotum Jus Records of Singapore.

Finalized artworks but yet to be received as manufactured items include:
- Carnavage "the hairless fat carnage deed" TS

That's all for this update... tempus fugit and I have much work awaiting as you now know

So funny...

Sometimes, thinking about many things in the same time just results in you to forget them all!

That's how I've been titling my previous journal entry "Censored" and finally forgot to speak about that censorship issue

So, as I said, the Carnavage CD cover is finished and sent to the pressing plant (in Germany). Unfortunately, the CD manufacturing company informed Apathic View production (the label) they won't print the CD cover unless there's a black card over it because the artwork is way too offensive and gore!

My vision on it, as I'm responsible for the artwork, is that the band, Carnavage, wanted a gore artwork, and so I furnish them what they wanted me to (parts - legs and arms - of a dismembered female corpse). But, as I don't like ripping off a rotten.com picture and put a band logo on it (so childish and un-professional!), I've re-worked these pictures a lot in order for them to be "acceptable" in terms of the "shock" they may bring to people watching them and to give the band and label a really professional and "design" image as I think most metal bands and labels are lacking such a "modern" imagery.

So, in my opinion, the artwork is not that offensive, but while trying to "censor" my artwork, the pressing plant will certainly gain Kaos Grafix more advertisement that I could have expected from that work!

Thank you very much for the censor!

Well...

It's been a while since I have updated this page for the last time, but, the fact is that, at home, I don't have an Internet connection anymore and, at work, my proxy doesn't allow me to upload files anymore, so, for something like a week I'm gonna keep this page still...

BUT, in the mean time, the Carnavage and Zombie Ritual CD covers are completely finished and I'm working on a Carnavage TS, still for Apathic View productions from Germany and on a new look for kaosgrafix.com (I was very proud of the actual look, but with the crash of my hard drive - see previous journal entry I've lost all source files ;-(.

So, expect more samples / previews of my wurrent works in the coming weeks on that page, a brand new kaosgrafix.com site and new projects (like the Warscars official web site)!

Until then...

Praise the Kaos!

Well...

While working on the finishing touches of the Zombie Ritual cover artwork my computer suddenly broke up and, after hours and hours of trying this and that I had to come to the conclusion my hard drive prematurely deceased. In the meantime, I was starting the process of backing up all of my recent works (the Zombie Ritual cover artwork, the Carnavage cover artwork, the Warscars website, the Kobra Kommando website and album tracks as well as the brand new Kaos Grafix site...) and all of this happened before the back up could have been completed...

So...

As of now, I have a brand new hard drive and (quite) all of my softs back BUT I lost ALL of my files during this accident and still have no Internet connection at home.

BUT...

I'm a tough guy (hehe!) and I've been putting together the Zombie Ritual cover artwork again in a few days. I'm still in the process of finishing it (the front cover and all four pages of the booklet are done, graphically wise, the tray card and the back cover too...). I've let myself a few day to lay back and see when I'm relaxed what can be done better on that particular cover and I've still some improvements to do to find the feeling of the one that was ready back. Thus this particular one (ZR) will be ready to ship on December 11th...

Now...

Here's the « queued » works in the order I'm gonna work them out:
Carnavage artwork (planned to be sent to Apathic View on December 22nd)
Warscars web site (planned to be unleashed during January)
KaosGrafix.com web site (planned for February)

In the meantime, I'm gonna work the Kobra Kommando album back again, but that's 16 months of work lost, so I have no idea of when it will be ready again ;-(

Making all for that technological drama not to affect you as much as it affected me, I hope this small change in the schedule is not such a problem for you...

Now it's time to answer my mail!

Yours,

After so many days of hard work designing a dark and intricating new interface better reflecting the company's clients profile (mostly extreme metal labels and erotic businesses), after having spent hours and hours developing a good looking Joomla! template from it (the site uses the v1.0.11 of the Joomla! framework), it's there!

KAOSGRAFIX.com is back on-line!

Well, the site's contents are quite basic right now (I just uploaded it afew minutes ago) and for some reason unknown it looked quite horrible on IE6 on a Win2K PC I checked it on briefly lately, but, on most configurations, above all with the mighty Firefox, it looks VERY satisfying and I'm starting the process of revising it (I'm actually already at the v3.01 of the template).

The site content won't evolve that much in the coming days for I have to focus on the Zombie Ritual and Carnavage cover artworks, but check it often as contents will at least be added weekly!
