I'm now left with the choice of attend a virtually dead end career in software engineering or hold out to apply for a crappier animation program next year... sigh

I do know though that I'll continue to make art, even if I can't possibly scan it on my computer... I work with 14" X 17" and 18" X 24" size paper so it just doens't work. I'll try and get some samples uploaded by webcam if possible

I was however accepted into Durham College without so much as a test... which is weird, because Its the least likely college that I'd accept.

UPDATE:

I've also been accepted into Conestoga and Centennial for their Software Engineering courses... Sheridan issued an application transfer, but I won't give up without a fight, I WILL get into that animation program

Any hoo, since my computer is fried I've been practicing more with pencil... big surprise, however the paper I've been using is... generally unwieldy (14" X 17"), it won't fit in my art bag so I have to carry it around in the plastic bag it came with when I bought it... other than that, I actually like how everything turns out in it.

If anyone has requests, send me a note or e-mail with some reference pics or details and I'll see what I can get done, mind you it'll be in pencil and it may not be available for quite some time since I can't actually scan anything really... but I'll figure something out

One mooooore thing... Goin' camping for 3 days, will be there as well...

10) I got into 'artistic' drawing after I was drafting (technical drawing), and it still shows... sigh

9) I only ever took one art class... in highschool... in grade nine... I should have taken more

8) Colouring on computer is hard for me because I lose interest half-way though something

7) Its even harder and more tedius to colour with other mediums such as pencil crayon, paint, etc

6) I find that my door constantly has dark smudge marks on them... I think its pencil residue from drawing

5) I draw through artist block... but I find its a waste of paper... but I still do anyhow

4) I'm not as good an artist as people think I am

3) The most irritating thing in art I've found is the perpetual breaking pencil... (ie: 1- sharpen pencil 2- remove pencil to find it broken 3- go to 1)

2) It's very difficult and trivial for me to draw males

1) Pencils are my nightmare.... can't do with, can't do without

Anyhow I gave someone a Valentine's gift to someone I adored, and the next day I got my Income tax filed.

Got some spending money and went broke after purchasing a stereo... a large one, since I was planning on getting one for a long time...

I also invested in a new tower, since my cpu kept overheating I had no choice but to find a way to keep it cool... after breaking my wallet I transferred... or rather several people transferred my old computer into my new tower... I knew I should've done it myself...

long story short crossed wires + plugging in stereo = Bzzzzt.... so now with my motherboard burned out I can't do any computer work at all, and whats worse is that graphics card in it won't by supported by the other MBs that are in the shop... argh...

Frankly all I need is sometime the one I adore the most... but even thats trivial in nature... sigh

Oh yeah, since my only phone is 'pay as you go', the minutes seem to keep running down like mad since I can't seem to keep conversations short... so now have to find a new system of talking to people....

Besides all of the really bad karma jargon, I still don't feel like crap, rather I feel really good... strange, and if you think I'm skimpy on the details in my personal life, then get over it... I prefer to keep the details in my life to a bare minimum in my journals.......... as you can plainly see ^

Normally what program I use wouldn't bother me, but this case is an exception. The fact that most of the users of DA utilize Photoshop and churning out all kinds of art is a significant factor, when the program I normally used was Painshop Pro... which doesn't to line work very well at all.

Anyhow, I've been trying to get into college (incase you didn't know), and actually I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to take the Bachelor of Applied Arts (animation) program at Sheridan College, unfortunately I'm not the wealthiest person on earth, on top of the fact that the program itself is world renouned... sigh... Disney recruits there apparently. I only really want to go because John Krikfalussi (sorry if I spelled wrong) attended there, which (more than likely you didn't know) is the creator of Ren & Stimpy and various other shows/cartoons.

Also I've been really inspired to draw various Mythological Gods, mainly from Egypt. As well I've been tooling around with the level editor for Age of Mythologies.

Also I've been asked to do up something for charity's sake, I'm thinking about doing a flying theme (surprise, surprise). First I thought of an angel wielding an instrument or article of somesort, the second a boy and his father flying a kite, and thirdly (is that a valid word?) a child holding a basket of paper cranes that take flight, and progressively turning into real cranes. The crane one I'm particularly interested in doing because of the folklore of making 1000 cranes to get your wish, which the picture itself is based on.

I was told that if I had done something by mid September, it would be framed and put on auction... not like I need the stress to get this perfect...

One moooooooooore thing... I've been working on 3 new pics, all of which aren't finished yet, on top of the fact that I haven't even finished all of my current pics... I'm so bad for procrastination... and distraction. I can't help it though, I'm always getting distracted by newer ideas and pics.

The past... couple of weeks I've been dallying, not really doing much, but now I'm going to TRY and get some works done... *sigh*

Anyhow, I've been practicing alot more with pencil and paper, which counts to nothing here, since MY SCANNER DOESN'T WORK.... *sigh*

Enough of that... now to the real news... I've been really practicing the last few... weeks to help get myself into college.

If you haven't known, I've been planning on going to Sheridan college to study their Classical Animation program for a while... when I feel my talent/skill is good enough then I'll apply. By the way... Sheridan college is the school where John Krikfalusy (I can only hope I spelled it right) studied, and went on to create Ren & Stimpy.

I'm also considering getting my hair cut (which is right now, very long)... ahem... if anyone actually reads my crap, then I'd like to hear some opinions.
