So Anime and Comic Day were REALLLYYY slow in customers BUT, I made
enough profit to buy $108 worth of Copics~ They're AMAZING guys * u*
I'm gonna be working with them a lot and hopefully i'll start
accepting copic commissions <3

Thing is, I was missing a few colors and I decided to buy them
online where they were a little cheaper, but I went $2 over in my
PayPal. SOOOOOO HERE'S THE URGENT PART:

You know what I really dislike and find completely unnecessary?

When people talk about changing between "new styles" and "old styles". Like....wtf. I don't understand. I really don't.

People focus too much on styles and then forget what art is really about. People say "I'm trying out a new style/I'm so frustrated I don't have a style...etc." Does that really matter? Yes, everyone has one (whether you think so or not) and yes, it's annoying and stupid when someone copies it; so I would have to say 'yes, it plays a very big part in art' but it's something that, I believe, comes natural and not something that you should stress yourself over.

An artist, in my opinion, doesn't sit there and say "Well, i'm going to draw eyes this way, I'm going to color this way and that's how people will know it's me." That's just retarded. I used to be like that and I realized that I spent 90% of my drawing time frustrated and scrapping everything because it didn't look consistent. I later realized that the more inconsistent: the better; it showed me that I was improving and that with every picture, I was learning something different.

So you guys, seriously: don't trouble yourself over something so minimal as 'having a style'. Just draw, and as time goes on, you'll notice that all of your art will have something similar and you'll just grow used to doing certain things a certain way.

I went through a long period like that and I would hate to see you guys go through the same thing.

Hey guys!

I've been so inactive here lately but i've been really busy.

I went to Mayhem Festival on the 30th to see Dragonforce,
Disturbed and Slipknot. Amazing stuff. Can't believe I actually
got to see my favorite Guitar Hero songs live. lol; I HAVE VIDEOS
FOR YOU GUYS /but mostly done for my papsss ~sorae :I <3

August 2nd - 3rd I was selling at Yasumicon. It was my first time
with a table so I was kind of nervous and felt unprepared but
everything was awesome. Had a good time; got plenty of commissions;
sold tons of keychains and met a bunch of amazing artists.
I'm gonna be selling at Supercon with ~jack0001 btw~

So now that con preparation is over, I will get back to commissions
here on DA so i'm sorry i've taken so long! I hope to be more
active now that uni is almost over and I'll have a little more
time.
