Plot level aside, it included aspects of all things entertaining that I like. We're talking hints of furrydom, World of Warcraft (Outland), Gears of War (seriously, commander dude was a COG all the way), Mech Warrior, Aliens (complete with Sigourney Weaver), maybe 5 or 6 of the 13 or so Final Fantasy games, including some aspects of the Final Fantasy Spirits Within movie, Secret of Mana (maybe both games), Fern Gully and finally, the Smurfs.

I'm sure more could have been thrown in, but the movie was already like three hours long or something like that.

I have a webcomic, and its not that big of a deal even in the smaller scheme of things. But I do hope to someday get a right and proper dead-tree-version of it just for the hell of it, you know?

Anyone in the know on what a good resolution size for making comic pages at for planning of printing later? Right now (and for some time before my previous breaks) I've stuck to 8.5 x 11 inches because thats "regular paper" size and now its just habit. But when I start the new arc in a couple of months I want to go a size larger. Like extensively larger, such as 9 x 14, (or something like that anyway. I'm not that clear on sizes) So that there's a bit more height to it and fit relatively more on a page.

I wanna get the sizing issues out of the way so that if I do have to assemble the files for printing, the work has already been done and no major resizing or cropping has to take place. Probably a frivolous worry, but can't help being prepared.

I'm going to clean up all commissions I currently have, this means Dresdenbomber, Ryuujin and Slav, and a couple from Cal and one from Cougr, and then I'll see about the time I'll have now that I don't have as much time in the day to work on 'em. Not that I claim to have an update schedule, I've hiccuped on my comic's re-re-re-do-over, but next week will be made up with two pages because I feel I can.

Today while Ustreaming I was told by my buddy Mallow that it would be neat if he could talk while I arted etc, and generally hung out. I think this is awesome. So yeah, I'll be Ustreaming mostly, but tonight and on other occasions, I will be Skype arting too.

I know that there are only about [b]6 to 8 people[/b] that can conference in Skype, so parking gets a little scarce when it comes to sitting in, watching or getting a speedy commission. (or a regular commission if you're so inclined)

But if anyone is interested, in either sitting in, or getting a speedy commission done and want to watch and interact, let me know here in the comments. That way I can probably set up specific times to chat with you and work around [b]your[/b] schedule, and folks can talk and all that. I'm also gauging the general interest in such an endeavor.

Well in a week I churned out 37 different commissions, and I'm stoked on that achievement alone. Thanks to all the kind folks that took their time to drop by and buy artworks. I will be starting them up again with the Ustreaming maybe Saturday. For now I've worked myself into a bit of bein' ill, but I'll be back again in a couple of days.

Thing is if I get bored enough and my voice actually not be phlegm-laced I'll be Ustreaming in the evenings as well, like even tonight while working on comics and larger commissions that direly need to be done.

On a note about comic stuff. I'm pretty pleased with the fact that AM's been updated consistently for... how long now? I forget. A month at least. For me thats a personal record! Not having a job or personal emergencies in my life helps with that, but nobody wants to know about those things! BUT, I've only got a few more pages paneled out solidly and I may need a moment to set more into motion, so I'm putting a call out NOW for GUEST COMICS!!!!

Since the comic is now on a less arc based series, no actual major story to "interrupt" when it comes to the flow of reading, guest comics can fit right on in. So if you wish to contribute I'm open to accepting comics and linking to DA and FA pages on the updates, giving all kinds mad props and all that jazz.

THIRDLY, I will be starting up $5 "Speedy Mishes" (Commissions), which can be commented on and directed on during Ustream so you can get what you want. That is if one is so inclined to watch in Ustream. If there is any interest, I will start this up during the days.

Speedy Mishes are much smaller resolutions images (I'm talking 100 dpi, about 1000 x 750 pixels). They are very quick, single character, no colour digital sketch paintings and pretty much guaranteed in about an hour. Let me know, I start tomorrow morning at 10 AM, MT and will be going until sanity starts to set in.
Extra characters can be discussed, but I'm all about keeping it simple.

Its experimental, dunno how long this'll last, so if you're interested do let me know here on this journal, in a private message to me, or drop by my Ustream between the hours of 10 and 4 Mountain Time and start asking away. Pay me five bucks, I start to work on it. Easy enough.

For the moment its only a consideration, but Ustream seems like something I can try to do, especially for any folks that have commissioned me and would like to have a "look over the artists shoulder" view on how the pic is turning out, and demand changes right then and there.

If it works well enough, I can even start to simply broadcast random shows without commissions too. It will depend a lot on how efficient it would be versus recording my progress on screen and making 'speed painting' videos of it, how my system handles it, etc.

My main issue is trying to get Ustream to work at all for me. Unfortunately the few attempts I have tried have been failures to broadcast. But I have a few friends that know a thing or two on it, so I'll update about that at a later time.

Now this isn't to single anyone out. Its just that I've experienced the barrage of distaste for watermarks that obscure a picture too much. Trust me, I really hate putting them on there! I'll bet quite a few artists hate doing it. But its a necessity sometimes. This is the intardnet.

UPDATE: I recently removed a deviation that I spent an upwards of about 18 hours on, which is the most I've ever worked on a single image. The original resolution was approximately 5000 pixels tall and was intended a print for a poster to sell to springboard my newfound freedom known as "unemployment".

Unfortunately theres a rather large number of people that have a hangup about watermarks and have the inability to read the description of the image to understand why its there and to note that I too would rather have it gone. Included with the description was a PS on my reconsideration about sharing my art here if any more comments were made about the watermark. Afterwards it seemed that folks decided it was high time to just outright discuss it with me and well I've kind of had it with repeating myself so the image is now gone. I'm going to take some time again to consider the gains and losses of trying to share artwork, in spite of it having a watermark that you may or may not agree with.

Its truly not that big of a deal, but the time and work invested in creating the image is not worth the annoyance of having people only note the watermark with nothing else even close to what the image was about, or using some level of effort to see the image and consider the proposition of buying a print of it.

To this I say good day and good riddance.

I am homeless. I only say this because its an observation of my lifestyle of constantly moving from one place to another. After this month I can say that I've moved residence 15 times in 10 years. Not impressive to some, but this has caused a longing for a place to stay for more than a year and develop a connection with a place.

Every time I move into a new place I never get a chance to decorate, you know put the nifty knick knacks that make a place look homey and lived in. I've only got a lot few knick knacks anyway. A collection of Bumblebees from Transformers, posters, and maybe some game boxes for decoration. Oh and a single chibi xenomorph made by :userCatharsisJB:.

I own no furniture other than a desk and dresser and my bed is an air mattress. So many years of moving has conditioned my mind into thinking that if I can't fit my life into a single car, I've got too much stuff.
I currently live/sleep in the living room of a one bedroom apartment with a roomomate. There is no living area, only bedroom space that has to be walked thru to leave or go to the kitchen.

This life of moving has impacted my ability to be committed to things like art, comics and even friendships. There is a hint of regret, but the future is till rolling towards me, there is still time for change.

After the move this month, I will be much closer to my job (9.5 miles vs 29.7 miles) which cuts the drive time down from an hour to only 15-20 minutes. The mind-numbing drive/traffic and getting home so late only to think about waking up so early again really takes it out of me to do anything more than just vegitate and stuff my face with cookies n' cream ice cream.
The new apartment is really nice, and I'll finally have my own room. I may actually have a HOME, a place where I can decorate with knick knacks, and cook with reckless abandon. To have friends over and to start projects again with the shorter work commute. A certain level of contentment is just around the corner...

Now all I'll need is an awesome significant other and I'll be set!

Its a pleasing invention of

a few years ago, and has been nearly an annual to periodic event where he does a week of updating pictures of one of my comic's characters, CC. Other artists are welcome to throw in their contribution as well, but usually its =morganagod running the show.
