I participated in it last time, and it was a pretty great experience. It's nice to have at least one comment on every piece you submit! It's helpful too, as this time she said that the person you're paired up with will be from the same medium as you, so they'll have some background in what they're commenting on :D

RIGHT. The project works like this. You sign up and receive a partner. Your partner will comment on every piece of work you upload during the selected time frame, and you'll do the same for them. At the end, you're supposed to send a note to ms. *vachi-bumbernickle and tell her if you were actually able to do it. :3

It's a great way to meet new deviants too :]

So, if you can't tell, I'm clearly trying to get you to sign up. :D

OH. And this is also to tell you that this is going to get me off my ass to do some photography. Why? Because the rules of the project state that you have to upload at least once a week. Ahahaha. And since summer is almost officially here- it'll mean more time to take pictures. Better weather too ^^; Unfortunately it means hunting down my models and making sure they aren't doing anything the days I want them- but we'll figure something out =D

Guess what the first thing I plan to do is? Buy a sexy camera. My Great-Grandpa was feeling charitable (after recently selling his house of sixty years o.O) and sent all of his grandchildren money. Shockingly all he said to do with it was "have fun". I can't think of a better way than this.

The camera I'm looking at is the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. If I can't afford that, or decide I want to save some, I'll likely get the XT since it's about two hundred dollars cheaper. There's a package I'm looking into that comes with a standard 18-55mm lens and a telephoto zoom lens, as well as a 4gb memory card for it. It's a great price, and God willing - I'll end up with it very soon =D

Obviously, new camera = photo whoring. =D

The Minolta, unfortunately, has been out of service since I got it. First- the film wouldn't advance. Then, somehow that I still haven't been able to figure out- the film speed/lighting gauge broke o_O We took it to this amazing camera repair shop (that my art teacher kindly recommended), and I won't have it back until tomorrow. Hopefully getting it back will tide me over until I can get my hands on my Canon -drools-


Oh! Andddd I have a ready and willing model whenever I want him. I'm very excited. Remember Joel? From [link] ? Yah. He requested I take some shots for him, and he had an awesome idea for a theme... ^^ I'm really quite excited. It's given me some great ideas. Creative block no more! Not sure when we'll do the shoot, but hopefully sometime next weekend =)

He said he had bought it quite a long time ago, haha. It's an old Minolta x-700. It's pretty ^^" I've never played around with a film SLR before, so he decided to let me borrow it. Judging by the dust that had accumulated on the top of the bag- I doubt he's going to miss it. I did some reading up on the web when I got home, and it seems it's not too bad of a camera. Great for the time period, most of the sites claimed it was the best Minolta of the type (or until the 7000 model). Sounds promising- especially since they all agreed it was good for "beginner to advanced amatures". Sounds right up my alley ^^"


So yah. I'm going to take it out tomorrow and see what happens. He only had one roll of film, and my house switched to digital years ago- so it'll have to do for the day until I can get my hands on more =D

Oh, and if anyone knows anything about the camera, or has tips or anything- I'd love some words of wisdom =)

The prize is the publishing, of course, as well as $100 and a year subscription to the magazine! Which, for me, would be awesome. They only sell the magazine one place near me, and I've yet to go look for it. Be easier if it was IN my city, not the next one over >.>

ANYWAYS; yah. I reccomend the site to anyone who's really getting into photography. Like here, it's really great way to get exposure ^.^

It's too cold for pictures outside- not like they'd be all that attractive in the time I have anyways. The school grounds are really starting to bother me.
And inside? Again- school is a problem here. It's my only option without a car (for the most part). The lighting in my school is absolutely disgusting too. D:

Thus- the slump. Call it artist's block I suppose? I don't know. I have a few ideas.. I just lack the time to do them. Well no, thats a lie too. I have a ton of time on my hands.. but no models. Apparently all my pretty people have lives! Imagine that >.> But yes. I'm hoping to get one shoot done within the next week or so. Here's hoping? -crosses fingers-

Sorry if the quality is kinda meh.. most of them were taken out of my car window (scratch that, pretty much ALL of them were). And it was cold =\
I still can't believe that we went SOUTH and it was COLDER o.O

It was an average of -7 degrees C there, and +6 here. When we crossed the border this morning, it was already warmed up to six, and it was like, zero, on the other side xD


And you all think us Canadians live in Igloos! We don't even have snow yet! xD

I haven't been to the States in the longest time... and I've never been to PA =)
We're going to some little town I've never heard of because, well, apparently is has good shopping xD
But hey, it can't be THAT small if there's a mall ^_^;

We're leaving tomorrow morning, and getting back some time Sunday.
Hopefully I'll get a few good photo ops while we're there, or on the road. My Mum hates her picture being taken, and me walking around just taking self-portraits may look just a tad stange... so don't expect any people photos (=()


Oh! And you won't miss me too much, because we made sure our Hotel room has WiFi... and we're bringing the laptop =D
You won't even notice I'm gone ;P

Taking photos of people and making them see how beautiful they really are...
It's so amazing.

A lot of girls I know have quite low self esteems. Photography really helps them, because if I can take just one picture that they can't deny they look gorgeous in... my work is done ^.^

It's just wonderful and fun and arh, I love it =)

So I am learning to draw. Well no, I am trying to teach myself to draw by randomly drawing over and over. Get it? Me either =\ So it's slow progress. As you might've noticed, I've updated with some drawings. They aren't very good -_- Hah, but chyeah, that is partly my scanner's fault. They honestly do look a millions times better in person -sigh-

Buttttt... anywho; I am trying to find a style that is "mine". My own. I'm trying so hard to make my characters different from everyone else's.

It's hard goddamnit -makes face-

In every aspect of life, you are bound to get farther and more of what you want, if you have it. Love. Career. Aspirations. They all depend on that one, itty bitty little factor. In my case, however, it isn't so small. Confidence is a big problem. It's not something in abundance in my life. It's quite sparce. On the edge of extinction I believe.

What could I do with confidence? Oh, imagine the possibilites.
For one... I could have been in numerous relationships by now, instead of my one that kinda...floundered. I could have more friends. I could be more popular. I could even get better grades.

But what can one do to get confidence?

That is the one piece of information I lack.

So forgive me if I appear to be "sad" or "emo" in any of my works. Forgive me if my work is a tad "dark" sometimes. But yesh, what is there to say?

A lot of stuff has happened in the past little while, and it's started to inspire me more. It's weird, I need conflict in my life. When there is none, I have nothing to write about, or draw. There's no spark anywhere and I find myself randomly doodling. -shrugs- It's odd I suppose.

So I've gotten into MsPaint graphics xD I don't have photoshop, but I am getting it soon! Expect random updates!

And since the summer is here...more photos! More free time = better photos.

I'm a bit of all of the arts. I cant dance very well, but I try.

I dont act too well, but I can if I really want to.

I like art, and I can do some things well, but I am not spectacular.

My photography is average, nothing to special.

And I can write from time to time, but my moods shift so often...my writing would be as straight as a curvy road, and very hard to follow. The second you thought you finally understould a character, they would change again. Bah, or maybe that's just how I see it? Since I am the writer afterall? I have a low self-esteem, so maybe thats it. I just dont think anything of mine is good.

This place is amazing, there is a lot of talent here. Maybe talented people. Maybe I just dont belong here? I havent gotten a lot of responce to the work I've wanted. Nothing mentioned about my work. Just a desktop and a deviant ID that I made becasue I couldnt sleep. I dont know. I'm just trying to find something wrong with me again.

All in all, this place is awsome. And I think I'll stick around ^^
