I decided to post when I noticed my last entry was August...about my new job...that I've had for five months now and still going good.

Things have been good and some things have been bad. Because of both of these reasons I haven't been doing a lot of art. However, now that the dust is settling, I'm hoping that will change soon.

Wish me luck!

I know I've been pretty "hush hush" about my job searching and findings. It's just always how I've looked for jobs in fear of "jinxing" them. I also didn't want to mention that I had found a job until I actually went in and finalized the paperwork. So....here it is...

Yesterday was my first day at Cat Daddy Games (a division of Take Two Interactive)! To make a long story short I'm "in training" (though I will get paid) and my job title is Technical Artist. It will be this way for the next six months before I get hired on full time. The best part is that my first week there they are doing art classes (a.k.a. meetings) for the artist there, so I get to meet everyone, get paid to learn new things, and learn how to do the job without really taking up someones time to do so.

The job is in Bellevue, though it's not a terribly long commute, I still hate driving. I will see how it goes, but if all goes according to plan, I just might be moving out to Bellevue sometime next year. I suppose I'll wait for that time to come before making any plans, but in the meantime...HUZZAH!

x-posted to LiveJournal

As some of you may, or may not, know...the latest game at iWin Division 90 was "shelved" which is a polite term for "canceled" I suppose. This mean my contract was terminated. Now, the guys at iWin are nice and are going to keep in touch. They could possibly offer me more work in the future either though them or the main office, but I'm not holding my breath. So...it's back to the job searching.

I'm still having a few issues with my domain name which are slowly but surely getting resolved. But until then, I have to have a website up for potential employers to view. This is what I have so far, though I do have some tweaking left to do and still want to add a few things: [link]

Since the game is "shelved", and I can put images up on my website, I guess it's okay to post things here as well. So, I will start putting up a few images of what I've been working on over the past six months.

Again, any constructive criticism on website would be appreciated and helpful.

Well, after two...almost three months (has it really been that long), I'm starting to settle down a bit and get into more of a routine. Of course I do get busy with work sometimes, and I occasionally have to do the adult/grown up, time consuming chores such as taking my truck to the shop or driving around to get groceries and long overdue household items. Not to mention, I'm still trying to put back the pieces of my broken website. Everyday I work on it a little more as I try to teach myself Dreamweaver. Hopefully, before too long, I'll start doing real art again. Oh joy!

Never have I updated so often. Well, don't get used to it.

Anyway, I have a favor to ask all of you. I'm looking into songs to make some videos for my portfolio. You know...that standard spiny environments. (Hey...I don't have any animation...what do you want?) I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me or could send me some songs to review I'm looking for:

1) Something instrumental, or if they have vocals, they aren't too distracting.

2) I'm staying far away from video game music, because I think that would be too cliche.

3) The song CAN have lyrics if there is a particularly lengthy instrumental section for I am not afraid to cut and edit to my liking.

4) I also like the idea of classical music that has been altered to meet a different genre. (example: Beethoven made into disco, Bach made into techno, Mozart made into heavy metal).

5) Nothing too slow, nothing too fast

So far I have constructed a play list with potentials consisting of some Chinese music, Vanessa Mae and techno. The more off the wall, the better. I need to start these videos soon so please help out if you can. Thanks!!

It's been a pretty productive break. I got a lot of things done, but not nearly as much as I would have liked (that's only because I plan too much). I cleaned the apartment, hung out with friends, worked on portfolio, watched a couple of series, worked in Unreal, finished two video games, finished some books...started some new ones, and most importantly...updated my website.

It took longer to update my website than it should have, but I needed to reformat EVERYTHING to match my portfolio, not to mention that GoDaddy needs to be beaten into submission. Anyway, since this is my last quarter and I need everything to be as final as possible, I would like it if you all would review my site.

[link]

Constructive criticism would be appreciated. Let me know what's working and what's not. Also, please let me know if there are any broken links, or links that don't seem to match. Spelling and grammar checking would also be helpful. Do keep in mind that there's only so much I can do with GoDaddy, so there are some things I cannot change. Anyway, let me know, and I will take all polite comments into consideration. Thanks much!

(Additional: I also had to use Geocities to make my website possible. It gets grumpy if too many people visit it, so If you get an error message from Geocities...try back in a day or two.)

Happy New Year Y'll!!!

Hope everyone had a great New Years. I hung out with friends, playing games and eating food. Can't say it was better or worse than last year, because last year was pretty darn awesome too!

I don't really make resolutions, but this year I'm going to try...

*Not complaining as much, especially about other people. I always feel bad, even if it's someone most everyone dislikes.

*Not to drink as much. I know I'm not a huge drinker to begin with, but I'm thinking of cutting it back even more.

*To pay off all my credit cards and tune up my truck! This, of course, depends on getting a job after graduation, but I'm going to remain optimistic.

Alright, that's all you get. I think that's doable. It seems like it's going to be a challenging year for most of us, so I wish everyone luck.

Well, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to one and all!!!

I've been pretty busy this break. As many of you know, I'm graduating next quarter, so I've been spending a lot of my time preparing my portfolio. Everyday I dedicate some time to flushing out business cards, rendering images and later I'll be updating my website. Other than that I've been visiting family and friends, shopping, organizing my computer, and cleaning up the apartment. It's getting pretty crazy and I'm sure it's just going to get crazier. All I have to say is...Wish me luck!
[link]

For those who don't know, this is the company I was interning at, and this is the game that our division was working on. (And Susan helped out too!) It's my first shipped title! To support the amazing, awesome people that I work for, and perhaps the beginnings of my livelihood, you should go out and purchase this game if fortune allows, (at least download the free 60 minute trial!). You should also pass the link on to everyone you know, and tell them to purchase it too .

Alright, I should stop being a marketing whore (you guys do get bragging rights too, saying "I have a friend that worked on this!"). But honestly, it's a fun game, and I definitely had a lot of fun helping out. Soon, (within the next week or two) I will be posting some of the art work that I helped out with, and later I will post some of it on my portfolio website: [link], but that probably won't be until winter break.

By the way...I graduate next quarter. Scary stuff!

Well, Susan is doing the crazy 100 monsters thingy on ConceptArt.org. I am not for the pure fact that I am not fast at drawing in the least. However, I am a writer and can write quickly (not necessarily well) when I'm on a roll. We all have our strengths...right?

What's my point? My point is next month is National Novel Writing Month or Nanowrimo for short! Susan can do here crazy little creatures this month...next month...I'm going to try and write 50,000 words! For those who might be interested, or want to know what I'm talking, about go here:
I encourage everyone to try. Now before you whine and complain, "But Erin...I don't have time" (I don't want to hear it!):

1) You don't have to do it...it's supposed to be just for fun!
2) I don't have much time either...it's just for fun!
3) You don't have to finish it...it's just for fun!

Anyway, that is all....go back about your business...

RULES
1. Post these rules
2. Each person tagged must post 9 random (hopefully interesting) facts about themselves
3. Those who have been tagged should write a journal of these facts
4. At the end of the post 9 more bloggers are tagged and named
5. Go to their page and leave a comment telling them they're tagged.

1. I have about a 10 second attention span...but I'm easily amused, so all is good.

2. I can read tarot cards, palms, and know more about astrology than the average person, but I don't really believe in any of it.

3. Though I don't really believe in it...I am a Gemini through and through from the duel personalities to the ambition to start everything and finish nothing.

4. On the same grounds, I believe in karma but not for the same reasons that most people do.

5. Caffeine is my only drug. I don't even like to take pain killers unless I HAVE to.

6. I'm single by choice and have no problems with it. Not that I would say "No" if someone I liked asked me out on a date.

7. I love food...I love all kinds of food. I sing to my food if I'm in a good mood. The easiest way to my heart is to feed me. My favorite food is french fries. My favorite kind of food is Asian. My favorite Asian food is Japanese.

7. I try to "roll with the punches" I feel that too many people get too upset over the silliest things.

8. I work best under pressure. I always try and plan to do things in moderation, but it seems to get put off for one reason or another, and I end up with everything to do last minute.

9. I can't decide which is worse: BO or too much perfume. Come on people...bathe at least every other day. Perfume was invented because people didn't bathe! If you bathe, there's no need for perfume now is there? That solves both the problems.

Just so you know...these things always stop with me...I carry on NOTHING!!! But for those of you who read my journal...you can carry it on if you like...

I have been absolutely cranky and whiny lately (the past quarter or two). I realized how bad it had gotten yesterday when I was riding the bus home yesterday and couldn't calm myself down for the life of me. There was no reason to be bitter and angry really; I just was. I've been snapping at friends and my fuse is non-existence.

At first I was was blaming my frustration on certain recent events, but that excuse can only take me so far. I don't think it's related to any particular instance anyway, but all the small things (money, classes, homework, time, etc) just piled on top of one another. That's no excuse for the way I've been behaving though. I need to try harder. I just want to apologize to everyone I've been short with lately.

However, despite my anxiety, I was very productive yesterday. I actually got a good chunk of homework done and had a few successful drawings at the open life drawing session. Hmm, maybe I need to find the balance of throwing my frustration into my work and not at those I care about. Brilliant!

I finally did it. I sat down and put up my website this morning. It's a "mock" portfolio website. What does this mean? It means that it will act as a temporary website until I'm forced/afford an actual domain name. I know it's fairly armature, but that is because it was done quickly and using basic HTML. However, I hope it will give a fairly good insight to how I'd like my real website to look like. I'm going to spend the next few days tweaking it, so here's what I'd like from you: Constructive criticism. Criticism about anything from: layout, fonts, color, making sure things work, down to the content. If you feel that something needs to be changed or taken down in any aspects, and if you give me a solid/respectful reason, I'll change it. Also, if you feel there is something on DA that I should add to the website, (and you give me a solid/respectful reason), I'll do that as well. I could especially use help on a name! I'd appreciate the input.
I apologize to everyone in advance, but I'm going to try and get everything updated during break which means, (for those of you who monitor Scraps), I'm going to flood everyone with uploads.

In other news...I'm almost at 1,000 page views. After posting my most recent art, I will more than likely break that. Am I going to do anything special? Probably not, unless you feel that it's important and you beg me to do something for you. I know...I'm no fun.
Other than that, my computer died on Saturday and my personal hero, Matt, came over and got it up and running again after 6 hours. I got to spend the past few days installing everything again. Fortunately, I had recently backed everything up as I tend to do at the end of the quarter.

Just wondering what the AIS group had next quarter and if anyone is taking good ol' online classes. The reason I ask is because I have an Advanced Communications book (a.k.a Argument and Debate) and a Survey of Modern and Contemporary Art book (a.k.a. Humanities II) that I'm willing to sell for cheap(ish). Cheaper than you'd have to pay online for them at least. They are EXPENSIVE books, so let's do each other a favor. Let me know...and it's first come, first serve.

I've felt oddly detached this quarter. I thought I was supposed to pulling things together, but I should know better than that. I've been wanting to completely emerse myself in my art, but have yet done so at a satisfying level. I remain...still...too easily distracted.

Now that I've spent the past week finishing up mid-terms and my first online class, I'm going to take a moment to catch my breath before the secord half of the quarter come pouring down. I think I'm going to spend this weekend finding a place in my school work where I actually feel like I'm ahead and not frantically behind.

In celebration of this...I'm going to bombard you all with tuns of stuff that I've been doing. I've been doing stuff...honest!

Quarter has been going pretty well I guess. Perhaps I'll post a full account at the end of the quarter.

(copy paste from my LJ)

I celebrated the New Year by going down to the Crocodile Cafe with my sister and Hunter, (a.k.a bolddeciever) to see Harvey Danger. It was an awesome show and I had a lot of fun regardless of being extremely tired. I'm sure Hunter would have loved to have gone with a more sociable group of people, because my sister and I just wanted to sit, relax, and enjoy the music. Sorry about that Hunter

I had a ting of guilt later on because, I think my sister REALLY wanted to go home right after midnight, but Harvey Danger had yet perform and I wanted to see the band I had paid to see. I subsided my guilt by rationalizing that my sister needed to start acting her age. All in all, one of the better New Years I've had in a while.

Some New Years resolutions:

1. Go to more Life Drawing sessions AND stay for more than an hour!
2. Less video games, (at least until I graduate and have a real job).
3. Not to complain so much, especially about other people...it's just not very nice.
4. Instead of watching movies or tv when I'm tired, I intend to work on writing/animations/art.
5. Buy a 2007 calendar!

PS
I am NOT doing the 10 sketches thingy so thththththththththththth!

The reason I couldn't post stuff from my Hard Surface and Organic Modeling class was, because it was a part of a complex Christmas present for my parents. Since my parents check DA from time to time, I didn't want to risk them seeing it.

What happened was this: My parents have been slowly redecorating their house, and all that really needs to be done is the kitchen and dining room area. My sister designed the kitchen and I modeled it in Maya for my final project. We put a movie together on a CD and put pictures, floor planes, and samples in a notebook for them. Along with this, my sister bought them the chicken picture, (which can be seen in a few of the pictures), and I bought them a few matching towels, oven mitts, and hot pads. It might not be an exact representation, and there are probably things they'll change, but I hope they liked it.

1) I hate starting new quarters without organizing and putting away stuff from last quarter. I can't start new video games until I clean the apartment first. I rarely can start new books without finishing the old, (there are exceptions). Basically, there needs to be an end before there can be a beginning.
2) I have to clip my nails daily.
3) I like to drink my coffee and play video games first thing in the morning. I'm not much of a "breakfast" person.
4) Since everyone had to say SOMETHING about showers...I prefer taking my showers at night if I can help it. I don't like blow drying my hair, (don't even own a blow dryer), and I don't like going out with wet hair....as a matter of fact...I hate wet hair.
5) I LOVE action movies! The more violence...the better. I think this leads to my...
6) ...super-hero complex. But who doesn't want to be a super-hero?

I tag no one, because these things must stop!!! Play only if you really want to and have nothing better to do.

I regret that I have one night class, but it was either that, or go to school four days a week. It was a tough call, but days off are best left for homework and tutoring oppertunities. Schedule goes a little like this:

Monday 12-4 Adv. Lighting Techniques
Tuesday 12-4 Intro. to Game Development
Tuesday 5:45-9:30 Interior Spaces and Worlds
Thursday 12-4 Texture Mapping for Games

...and online I'm taking Humanities II and Argumentation and Debate.

Two of my classes are with Chris. Now I like Chris as a person, but I've come to realize that he teaches all his classes the same. He knows his stuff, but I seldom learn anything new in any of his classes. I have another class with Andy, which is someone I've been wanting to meet, and I have another class with Bruce. Though I've heard mixed reviews about Bruce, he's still another teacher that I've been wanting to meet.

It looks like it's going to be a tough quarter, but since there's no Nanowrimo, no major holidays and no time-demanding job, it shouldn't be too bad. We'll see.

Happy copy/paste….this has been cross posted to: [link]

Since I haven’t really updated in a while, I thought I’d catch everyone up on how my classes are going. To put it bluntly, I’m not entirely happy, and I can’t wait for this quarter to be over!

As many of you know, I officially switched to the Game Arts and Design program. This seems to have made a few of you sad, but we honestly have to step back and look at things from the “big picture”. When it comes down to it, I’m definitely better with the technical stuff. Truthfully, if AIS would have offered GAD when I first started here, I would have gone directly there to begin with. Of course this will means that I’ll be at AIS for a few more quarters, but I believe it will be worth is in the end, not to mention, give me more time to build up my portfolio.

Now getting back to this crappy quarter. Two of my classes: Adv. 3-D Animation and Hard Surfaces and Organic Modeling, I’m not learning much of anything. I think this is a mix between Chris not having taught 3-D animation before, Joel not being very efficient with Maya, and me doing other work outside the required homework. Naturally I have A’s in both these classes.

As for my online class, (Aesthetics), it was long, boring, and I’m glad it’s over. However, I don’t know what my grade is. It says I have an 89.38% which calculates as a C+, but it says my final grade is an A. I’m going to fight for my A. As some of you know, I had problems with this class at first, because I was unfamiliar with the df vb (YODA!) interface and I had a D by week 2. Since my grade shot sharply up after that, and my teacher kept commenting, “That was very insightful” I hope she’ll realize I’m really NOT an idiot and give me my A.

And now for my last two classes. I thought I was doing well in my Digital Ink and Paint class, I really enjoy painting in Photoshop, but I only have a B. I’ll have to talk to Katheryn to make sure everything has been turned in. As for my Compositing class…I have a freakin’ B- (I know…I know…”But a B- is good Erin” but I just thought I was doing better). It’s true that I haven’t been putting much effort into that class, but I guess I don’t have the knack for compositing that I thought I did. I’m sure if I had the program at home it would help immensely. Again, I think I’ll need to talk to Steve to see what I can do about this. However, these last two classes don’t count toward my new degree, so I shouldn’t worry too much about them, but I will, because I’ve been drilled into me that anything lower than a B is unacceptable. Criminelly, I think I’ve done entirely too much salvaging this quarter to keep my GPA up.

And on top of this…I once again FAILED to get the Mascot Dressphere. I mean, HONESTLY what does it take!??!!! I guess it’s just not meant to be.

At least Nano is still going strong. I hope to have 22,000 words by tonight.

Sorry for the long ramblings. I guess that’s what happens when I don’t update for a while.

I need a vacation!

I do like to draw, but I'm just not that super-fantastic at it as many of my friends are. Hey! We each have our strengths. When I started school at AIS, I wasn't sure what to expect, or exactly what I was going to do. Ever since then, I think I've been heading in the gaming world direction, not to mention the fact that I would like to stay in the Seattle area if possible.
New Quarter! New Quarter! How many has it been again?

As many of you know, I quit my job working at the clothing store...sort of. I told my manager that I'd help her out in a pinch or if she needed me to babysit. I like my manager...I just don't like the job. Not to mention, I want to spend my remaining year at AIS working on portfolio. I will have to remind myself that the extra time is for SCHOOL...not VIDEO GAMES! Any "boots-to-the-head" are welcome if I start slacking.

In other words, I'm looking forward to this quarter being very productive. I'm hoping to be able to spend more time on homework and extra time on practice. I'm very excited about this.

As for last quarter...I don't mean to brag, but I did exceptionally well. On the other hand, it WAS easy classes and I WAS only taking four, so I feel kind of like I cheated. In conclusion to last quarter...I had an idea. If anyone is taking Digital Video Post Production this quarter, we should all make a series of Peep adventures. It would be funny! Well, if you can't think of anything else for your final project...there you go.

As for break, if anyone is interested, I worked mostly. I guess the extra income will be nice since I'll be relying on tutoring and loans to make it through the next year. I hung out with Ana a few times, but that's about it. Nothing special.

After reviewing my degree, I could quite possibly graduate Fall 2007...Summer 2007 if I really push a few quarters...Winter 2008 if I take it easy. We'll see I suppose, but I really do want to get out into the real world as soon as possible, and pushing myself is something I've always been good at.

Though a year seems like a long time, we all know how quickly a year can go by. I'm going to really start seriously working toward my portfolio, not just the art work but business cards, resumes and the whole package. This next break I plan on setting up a website, and work on a few demo reels with what I already have. As I get new and better stuff...I can simply change things out. You might also notice a change in the way I submit my art. No more excuses, no more explaining. Either my art speaks for itself...or it doesn't.

I want everything to have a common theme. Though Simon is cute and adorable, I don't think he can show my skills. I just made Ka'Leek and Oop for Character and Modeling class, but I like the feel of them. I believe I can do so much more with them in the way of animating and texturing. They kind of remind me of Odd World.

I just registered for Fall Quarter. I was able to register early because I'm like 3 WHOLE credits away from being able to register Week 6...so lucky me...YEAH!!!

If anyone is interested, next quarter looks as follows:

Ethics Monday 12pm - 4pm
Advanced 3-D Animation Tuesday 12pm - 4pm
Hard Surface and Organic Wednesday 12pm - 4pm
Digital Ink and Paint Friday 7:30am - 11:30am
Compositing Friday 12pm - 4pm

Not too shabby. I'm happy that I don't have any night classes. However, the Friday classes were unavoidable and conflict with my standard work schedule. There shouldn't be too much of a problem switching around, but I'm hoping I won't have to work at all next quarter. (Naturally, I'll still tutor). Hope to see some of you around.

I was stressing out for a week now about a project that was due today in Digitial Video Post Production. I don't have the program at home and not much time to get to the labs to work on it at school. I decided Wednesday was going to be the day that I go in...and get it done. As you can probably guess right now, problems came up. At one point, I had to completely restart my WHOLE project. This left me throwing the project together quickly, being sloppy on some of my edits, and coming in at 7 am to finish it up before class starts. Naturally, I had this fear that it was going to be crap.

Turns out 1) only 7 people turned in a project today and 2) many people liked mine more or less, and thought I did a good job. They were even picking up "metaphores" that I didn't even intend, but HEY...whatever works. Of coures the things that they picked up one as "problems" were the exact areas that I didn't spend as much time recreating the second time.

For AIS students only: If, for some sick and strange reason, you want to check out this project, you can go to the Network Share/Animation/Boldenow and it's the Quicktime movie labeled Boldenow_Slide. ENJOY!

As I sit in my Digital Video Post Production class, I fade into boredom at how simple this stuff is. We do little exercises, and don't continue on until everyone understands it. This usually means, I get it done and then have to wait a long time before moving onto the next step. I do realize it's only Week 3 and thing might become more complex, however, these programs always come naturally to me.

In other words, video editing is fairly easy for me, and kinda fun in some weird sense. I have to keep this in mind when looking for a job. Perhaps I won't necessarily look for just animation jobs, but perhaps some post production jobs as well. I'll be pretty much happy with anything just as long as I don't have to go back to retail.

Getting this quarter started is like trying to start a car with a dead battery. I've been able to keep up with my homework, but not to my best and I can't seem to work ahead like I like to do either. To many "outside" school things keep popping up or changing. I hope I'll feel better by August, when things should be getting back to normal.

I'm sorry I've been whiney and cranky all week. This week just wasn't going to well. It doesn't help that I was sick either. I hope next week is better.

Summer Quarter is off to a rocky start. I'm having a hard time getting into the swing of things. This mostly has to do with things popping up, so I spend my free time running errands of some nature or another. Not to mention my work schedules been a bit wonky the past weekend. On top of all this, my old roommate is moving out and my sister is moving in. This means that things are coming and going and my apartment is unorganized and a mess. If any of you know me at all...it's hard for me to relax in such a mess. I just have to keep telling myself that things will be back to normal in a month. I sure hope so.

Once things calm down around here, I feel that this quarter will go smoothly though. I'm only taking four classes as to take a bit of a break. It's funny how one less class can make a difference. I was hoping to use that time to work more and save up money, but it's been a summer of one expense after another. I suppose that's how it goes.

...By the Way...I am displeased with the new lights in South Campus. They hurt my poor eyes. Seriously, every time I step out of a room, I literally shy away from the lights.

I had a nice 4th of July. I spent it with Anaquita, Ambrosia, Jessie and friends. We went to Gas Works Park to watch the fireworks. We went early so we could get a good spot. We talked, ate food, burnt in the sun. We are BAD animators though and didn't bring our sketch pads. Now we know, and we've learned our lesson....please don't hurt us!

I thought Summer Break was going to be dull, but I've spent time with friends and managed to keep myself busy. It's been great, but I really can't wait to get back to school. There is only so much free time I can handle before I go crazy, not to mention that I do actually like school. Hope to see you all there soon.

The quarter has ended...Summer break is well into full swing. Grades were very much as I expected and so far my break has been going well. I've been drawing, working on modeling, cleaning my apartment, ordered books for next quarter, cleaning my computer, went to the aquarium, bought much needed RAM for my computer (who loves me now), handing out with people and hopefully next week I'll break out the oil paints. If the weather remains nice, I can paint out on my deck. I also want to finish Quest for Glory V, a couple of books, and hopefully some models. I am currently one happy penguin.

I was just going to update everyone on how life was treating me but...

I was tagged by: EVERYONE!!

So, start with six weird things/habits about yourself and then the people you tag need to write a journal of their own with the six weird habits/things about themselves.
You must copy and paste this rule at the top when tagged (change the name of who tagged you of course)
After you're finished you need to choose six people to be tagged and list their names at the bottom.
Dont forget to leave a comment that says "You're Tagged!" in their comments and then tell them to read your Journal...

1. I can't just fall asleep, and I can't just lay there and think of stuff, because then I'll start making list or trying to figure out how to model something or start planning what I'm going to do the next day. NO! The only way to calm myself down enough to fall asleep is to make up stories.

2. I constantly want to do EVERYTHING. I want to model in Max, write books, animate, draw a comic, read everybook, watch every movie, play every video game, illustrate. I'm so used to being a jack-of-all-trades that I'm not sure how I can specialize in just one thing in order to get a job once I'm out of school. This also makes it nearly impossible to figure out how to spend my free time...so I end up getting bored very quickly.

3. I enjoy being single, I enjoy being by myself. Most of you know it's not because I'm anti-social and I love all my friends. It's just that I'm happy being me and I don't want to change for anyone, just as I don't want to have someone change for me. However, it is true that I'm not too fond of the human race as a whole.

4. I love far too many horrible movies. I love movies in general, but I get a kick out of watching the cheesy horror movies, or the less-than intellectual video game movies. I'm also obsessed with Matrix Reloaded and I don't know why...it's not because of the story.

5. I have a super hero complex. I'd much rather see other people happy than to worry about my own happiness. I'm also definetly a "fighter" when it comes to those "fight or flight" mechanisms in our tiny little brains. Not to mention I'd love to be able to pull off those Matrix type moves. I shouldn't watch super hero movies, because it makes me want to go kick people in the head.

6. I sing songs about anything and everything. You can usually tell when I'm feeling comfortable around people, because I'll start singing songs about...whatever. It's usually toneless ditties about food or my cats.

I tag: No one...this silly thing must STOP!

If it's after school and they've deleted all the folders, or if you don't have access to the AIS computers, you'll just have to wait for me to post it on the AMV website. It needs a bit of fine tuning first before I post it there, so it might be a week or two. To check that out...follow the link I posted in my "Anime Music Video" journal entry.

Most of you may have notice that I've been awefully cranky lately. I suppose the 9th week stress is getting to most of us. For this, I apologize. Most of my anxiety has been caused by my Cartooning and Character Design class. I work so hard on everything and I can't get more than a B on any of my assignments. I have come to accept the fact that there is very little I can do at this point to get an A in the class. Also, Illustration isn't what I want to do with my life, so I have decided to stop wasting my time on this class, and focus my remaining time on the classes that are more important. I still do my homework, but just not spend a good portion of my time on an assignment I'm just going to get a B on anyways. I haven't worked on my 3-D logo for about two weeks.

I killed my cell phone. I'm so angry with myself because it was completely avoidable on two accounts. First, I had my coffee mug that I thought was empty, and I thought, "You should check and pour it out," but then I thought "Naw, it's closed, I'll just throw it in my backpack." Then when I went to throw it in my backpack, I saw my bag in there and thought, "I should take that out of there and wear it on my person," but then I though, "It's safe in there." As luck would have it, the coffee cup was NOT empty...it was NOT closed and the contents poured directly into my bag. Nothing else seemed to get harmed...except for the cell phone. I tried cleaning it up and drying it out, but it has gone on to silicon heaven.

Anyway, I'll try to replace it today...Wednesday at the very latest, but if anyone is trying to find me today while I'm at work, calling me might not be the best solution. I'll be at Folklife near the north end of Seattle Center. I'm down an walk way marked Uncommon Market. The booth is at the very end on the right hand side. I'll be there until about 4pm today.

I will be working at Folk Life Festival Memorial Day weekend. I'll be there Saturday thru Monday from 10am to 4pm and Friday....sometime. I'm not sure where the booth will be set up, but I think it will be at the north end of the Seattle Center. We sell sarongs, jewelry, mask and other such stuff from Indonesia. You should check it out and stop in and say hello. Also, if anyone feels like hanging out and checking out some of the shows...you should come find me just as I'm getting off work. I'll have my cell phone with me if anyone is having a hard time finding me. Of course I still plan on going out to see X-Men on Sunday afternoon.

All of you should go to Folk Life anyway, because it's within walking distance for most of you and it's free. And I don't fall for this..."I don't have time" crap, because we're ALL busy, but you need to take a break sometimes...not to mention you have FOUR whole days to catch it.
