We went on a 5 gig spree plowing through Finland, and it was pure win and awesome. Three out of five gigs were sold out, so next time we'll have to go for bigger and better venues. It was a crazy few days, amazingly fun and we got to meet a lot of the finnish fans (we tend to mingle before and after a gig - we're very accessible that way).

We made some changes to our live act, that's really pushed our performance to the next level. Now comes a time of creating and composing.

Oh, and also, we brought a DV cam on the road, and got some pointless footage of us traveling and whatnot. I can't believe it. It struck me today to check my dA. And my subscription has even expired.
I guess there's been a lot of stuff happening. Got a new job, a new album (out on torrent, but otherwise) on the way.

Gonna upload the artwork for it here some day soon.

I love the album we've done. And as always, some people didn't get what they expected. But in my ears, the album is 100% Machinae Supremacy, warts and all. And all I can do is rock out to it. And I hope most of you will too.

We went to Norway and played with their most famous symphony orchestra, at the "PLAY!" event. Then onward to a Jcult gig in Västerås, which was awesome as well thanks to a wonderful crowd.

Now, we've been a week in Gothenburg, finishing up the post-production and mixing of our upcoming album. Today is the last day here, and I'm currently listening to the album songs trying to determine any changes we need to do to the tracks before we say "finished!".

And, yesterday I started working on the artwork, the cover idea... I've been told that the rock video for Through The Looking Glass is coming next week, but I really can't promise anything since it's already been delayed for 2-3 months or howlongisit?!.. Anyway, expect more activity from me both as the video gets released, and later on, the album.

From a band perspective, I agreed to take the gig because I believe it can generate some great publicity, and it's a good thing to put on your resume. But now that it's over, now that I have been there and experienced it all, it is as if my entire previous point of view doesn't fit into my world anymore.

The apartment in which we're staying was previously inhabited by folk singer icon Cornelis Vreesvijk. Now it hosts half of Machinae Supremacy - yes, an epic place indeed. We've been to the Stockholm Concert Hall to prepare and set up for the coming PLAY! concert. Friday we're going there to rehearse, and on Saturday we perform together with the Royal Philharmonic orchestra.

When I was a kid I read a lot of comics. Wasn't really into the whole Marvelverse or DC a lot, but I did like Spider-Man and I had a few Marvel bigbooks (a collection of all the stories in a particular mini-series of the hero's life) with various characters such as Wolverine.

I was mostly into stuff like Garfield and Calvin and Hobbes, mainly because they were openly ridiculous and fun, unlike the Marvel ones who actually tried to be cool and awesome but failing miserably in my childish mind. For our project we've had a lot of thoughts on how to proceed, using fully photo-realistic rendered images or toon rendered, and in the end we came back to where we started.

Regular "comic" art (with a bit more advanced coloring, though), supported by "invisible" 3D. Now, you might ask yourself what the point is to spend a year exploring different possibilities only to end up with the original idea. But from a scientific point of view the answer is obvious.
