Hello everyone. How are you guys? I will no longer update in DA.Starting in either Febuary or March, all artworks from DA of mine will be removed permanently.

Oh, and i am no longer making anymore anime/manga type artworks too since i am focusing on my studies and career. I made this decision upon my wedding and also to become a worth while architect. I had fun doing this but it did not provide me the complexities and challenges in working that i always yearned for. Being an architect, researcher and lecturer filled me with excitement daily as i will travel to different countries, explore new technologies, meet, talk and manage stuffs that was unattainable before. It is now so much more tougher, complex and.....surprisingly FUN.

I didn't hate nor regret working in the field of anime/manga but i realised the world has more to offer me in architecture. I am passionate about manga and anime (yup, still reading Onepiece and watch Fairy Tail and whatnot) but hey, architecture fills with me joy and similar passion too.

Haha, especially when you first step into a house you designed on your own, for your own self. To me, it feels like living in art.

I can go on and on about this. Despite the crazy stress in work, i am happy.

Thank you to those who has been supporting me for all these years in DA and in the real world. This is an official goodbye from me to all of you in DA

[EDIT]I have RELIGIOUS and PERSONAL reasons to delete everything here. Apologies to those who wished the artworks to still be here. I don't think drawing manga or having several hobbies at one time is a taboo. I have other hobbies too like travelling and back packing.Drawing manga just did not provide the satisfaction i needed that is why i stopped. I don't hate being an anime artist. Besides, there are more important stuff in my life right now like charity works, family and travelling.

Hi everybody!

Got myself the XBOX 360 and i am buying PS3 next month.

I have finished playing GTA4 Liberty City ,3 days ago XD. It was such an awesome game. I was addicted to it. I tried playing online and it was fun! I just bought Halo and hopefully it is as good as everyone has said. I might buy Alone In the Dark once it is out.

NOW, let's talk about PS3. Gonna buy it next month but i have no idea which game to start with. I have played Assassin's Creed and also Devil May Cry and several other games on PS3 at the office.

Can you guys suggest some games for both XBOX and PS3? I play everything except for sports games like GT or Winning Eleven.

I am AGAINST racism and discrimination. O___O That is my humble position.

2 days ago, i was talking to one of my friends who went to Japan to study there ( it was for student exchange) .

While shopping in a famous shopping mall in Tokyo, she was stopped by some policeman and they asked her to show her passport and they kept interrogating her. There were many light colored foreigners there with her but they only stopped her alone. At first, everyone thought maybe it was because my friend might look similar to someone wanted by the police, so she let go of the incident.

Then, she went to the university in Chiba and attended the class there. However, she told me, she couldn't stand Japan, after staying there for almost a year. She told me the guys in her class always make fun and do not respect her. They kept calling her names because she has a very dark brown color skin and because she is a Muslim. So she was left out in the class on her own though she was supposed to befriending her classmates for the exchange.

I also found out later from my brother who has dark skin that when he was in Japan, he was also interrogated at the airport and shopping malls by the police.

I told them, it is just those guys who are like that. Not everyone in Japan is like that since i have Japanese friends who are really nice to me (but then again, they said it is because i am quite fair x_____x).

I don't know about other countries, but in Malaysia, racism issues rarely occur ( though they happen sometimes). Hmm, i wonder about people from other countries.

Have you guys ever experienced discrimination or racism?Do you know what causes it?

I decided to apologize to everyone whom i might have hurt their feelings.

Lately, i don't feel really good with myself. I learned that i can't get along well with some people. Maybe because i do not share the same view as them.

Today, especially, i feel really down since tomorrow will be my scholarship interview...and yet i have forgotten a lot of stuffs that i had learned. I feel the need to apologize to my family if i do not get the scholarship. I have tried my best but maybe i am just not good enough.

I have to choose between architecture, animation and making comics. It's tough to follow your dreams especially when reality strikes.

Sometimes, i feel like i need all the luck in the world...but maybe having luck was just not good enough too since surviving is much more important.

And then, there's the issue of marriage which i doubt i am ready for... and travelling. I have travelled to various countries and i felt sad again since some of the country has such a high rate of poverty... and yet i couldn't do much since i don't have enough money to give to all those children and poor women. I feel like i am an evil person who consumes resources selfishly...

I am just human. So, i am sorry. Take care everyone.

However, after i was fired job offers were pouring in. I am referring to permanent and not free lance works. These are offers from rather well known companies.

First:
Character designer and artist in animation company PASI. The one that makes Fantastic Four, Animaniacs, Kampung Boy and etc.

Second:
Mangaka for Shoujo Jump.

Third:
Assistant architect in a well known Malaysian architectural firm.

God.....why do these job offers come at the moment when i wanted to further study?

Now...i am confuse. Job offers like this don't come by everyday but they poured in a single day yesterday. I don't know if i should continue studying or work....someone please give me some advice. Thanks

Actually, i don't know if i should say that i was shocked with my boss's sudden news yesterday. Perhaps i had anticipated the news or perhaps that i was hoping things to clear out....but i guess when something turns sour, it rarely becomes normal again.

Let's get straight to the point:

The WHOLE artists department was fired.

YES! The whole department! Surprise, surprise?

Ooh, that has to be some news. After airing on national television and radio airways, having a contract with Diamond and Warner Bros. They fired the whole team. The reason? Lack of production, mismanagement and not having much profits.

The decision didn't really affect me that much since i am going to further my studies. However, i think such actions affected most of the senior talents of the company since it was too sudden. It is disappointing to know that things turned out this way when it could have gone into a better direction with so many wonderful comic artist in the company.

Oh well, life has to move on. I am still making freelance mangas with other companies.

Lately, everyone in my office is a bit down. Since i was the youngest, i didn't really understand at first but lately i begin to see their points.Despite all the super crazy talented comic artist available in the office...the management doesn't seem to realise how valuable these people are... they don't see these artists as assets.

we are underpaid...
and yet not allowed to do freelance work (eventhough there were no agreements in the contract mentioning we weren't allowed to do freelance). They gave so much irrelevant excuses for so many issues that i felt really disappointed.

The sad thing is, my freelance job as a mangaka for a Japanese shoujo jump pays more than my permanent job as a comic artist and colorist...

So, i will be leaving the company quite soon to further my studies since i am really upset and sad by the situation of my current workplace.

Sorry for the rant everyone. To those who read this journal of mine, thank you very much.

Lately, i went into one of my country's famous site for artists in Malaysia. Through observations i realized how a certain number of people there seems to have a hatred for manga style. Some even flame manga artists and their works.

Personally, I believe that everyone has their own preferences. This is what makes each person unique. For me, there is nothing wrong in expressing one's opinion or taste for something.

HOWEVER, i despise people who wage war,curse or even hate something without even knowing what they hate....for example in the case of manga. If you know or have researched about manga and yet have no preference for it- i would understand....BUT for someone who has only seen a few works and then putting a negative definition of what manga or anime is..... i find these people a tad bit annoying.

I am not trying to stand up for manga/anime genre.....

but if you don't know something, don't go around telling other people that that something is bad. If you're too lazy to go around finding some info on something, keep your thoughts to yourself and don't flame that someone or something.... cause to me....if you do this...it makes you look reckless and foolish.

This is my personal opinion. People may agree or disagree with me. What do you guys think?

Sorry for not being around much. I am sure there'll be many people who don't remember me.I have been really busy with my new workplace. We're working on comics and i have to also work hard for several events coming soon.

I guess working in the comic manga field that i have always wanted really excites me. However, the competition between coworkers are really fierce. Being the youngest in the company....i have so much to learn. Everyone else is so good and advanced that it scares me. Nevertheless, i am happy to work with real professional comic artists, writers and mangakas.

Probably a dream come true for me. Looks like i need to work harder to reach up to my company's standard. Wish me luck as an apprentice.

By the way, I hope everybody is doing well. I miss my friends here. Thanks for the support.I need to apologise to the commissioners since i will be producing all commissions rather slowly ( i can only produce 1 commission in 2 months since i am busy with work). Those who wish to cancel their commission may do so if they do not wish to wait.

The first contest was held in 2006 in the span of 4 months. Because it was the first contest KAMCAO has ever organized, their target was to have at least 20 entries. We received an overwhelming response, with 103 contestants participating and 139 entries since the contestants were allowed a maximum of two entries each.

Art...the illustrations, the colors, the compositions,hmmm...

How important is it to the society? Can we live without art or even music? Is it a necessity? Does it contribute to the society?

My lecturer asked me these questions yesterday since i told him i wanted to be an anime artist. I find it hard to answer them.

I said to him; "Sir, ofcourse art is very important. Our creation itself is an artform".... hmm.. he said "But then again, can we live a life that is simple without art?"

No, i can't. I'll be too empty.

What do you guys think? Is art that IMPORTANT?

I was reading Roald Dahl's and Robert Frost's books yesterday. I came across a short literature with the title:

This short poetry resembles the life of very few people who dared to take on something not taken by many.

Somehow, i feel like i was connected to the poetry since I came from a science background, but i decided to pursued art instead, doing what i like best.

Drawing anime style arts.

I have always been busy with studio life, never knowing much about life outside the small cubicle that i lived in. The very few works you see in my gallery, are the works that i do with the little time that i have.Architecture students like me barely sleep nor rest during the holidays since submissions are always on Mondays and Fridays....

Now that i have graduated part 1.....

I am going to enroll myself in a graphics and illustation course in TOA.. finally.

A little late but atleast, i have learned a lot from architecture. I am planning to become a better artist, and a better person in life and soul. No matter how old i am, life is a learning process, and humans must never stop learning.

Although i have come out from a little box, i just realised that i have stepped into another box....

Lately, i feel emotionally disturbed by all the horrific things that has occurred in this world. Wars, child abuse, increasing crime rates, sins, pollutions and other incidents has caused destruction over years. Furthermore, the fact that i can't do much to help the situation from worsen saddens me deeply.

The place that i live has become increasingly hot each year and i see crime rates soaring month to month.After hours and months of pondering and looking through articles in the internet and newspaper it struck me................

Is the world coming to an end soon?

The thought came into my mind. From the scientific articles i have read....the world IS nearing it's death bed.

It scared me....but there is not much i can do to stop it?

I find the new DA layout very uninteresting and i hate that so many features are gone.

!There are no dates.

Recently, i have been a bit worried about my younger brother. He has this rare backbone desease which i also have. The name is too complicated for me to remember O__O.It causes the patient to paralyse.

I have the desease too......

The doctors said that he'll be paralyzed at 27.......I feel very sad when i heard this. First, my friend's death, and now this...

I thought of quitting architecture due to the pain caused by the desease before. Cause at that time i couldn't move my hands and neck.....I hope my brother is able to stand the desease too like my mom and me. The doctor said the desease is more chronic on men and it's genetic.

I don't know what will happen to me and my brother, but i am not going to quit life but i want to stand up and fight the desease. Maybe one day i can't move my hands to draw anymore.....but that's ok.

I guess when things like this happen to your life, it's better to accept it and do something about it rather than be depressed. ^____^ Have a nice day everyone!

Some of you knew that my good friend passed away recently.I felt really bad about it but.... I don't want to mourn anymore but instead be strong to face this.

I want to move on....I am still sad but i believe that my friend wouldn't want me to cry all day long. People come and go; i must accept that.I will remember her forever in my heart and memory.

A moment of silence.......

A friend of mine passed away yesterday due to chronic leukimea. She was a really great friend and we grew up together. I feel a bit down now. Can't concentrate on my drawings. I guess I'm taking a break for a day or 2 to mourn her death.

Dear everyone,

I plan to make changes in my artwork submission. I want to improve more on:

1.Human anatomy
- I want to learn more human perspectives and post more practices.

2. Background drawing
- I rarely post anything with strong background; so that's gonna change.

3.Mechas
- God knows how much i love mechas....i just can't draw them traditionally.
- i made some works using Sketchup,AutoCAD and 3d max which i might post when i am done.

4. Modern stuff
- I think i want to explore more on modern style and still preserve my own anime style. XD Easier said than done but i will still try.

Overall, whatever i will be submitting won't look that good but it is all part of learning. XD Wish me luck!

Hi everyone!Please leave a comment on your opinion.You don't have to read my opinion below to comment.Arigato gozaimasu!!!

Lately, i rarely have a look at anime stuff in DA since i think i was bored with most of it. XD I went to portalgraphics.net and find that the works there have more interesting concepts and links to great anime artist sites. It's not that i think the works here are not good,most of them are rather good( i am referring to the daily top favorites). It's just that i think most of them don't inspire me to do something different. ^____^ I want to try new stuff with new method instead of looking at typical anime.

Also, sometimes, i dislike it when i see some artist getting top favorites and comments when we all know that the work submitted was not much quality and i saw other works at the same page which is better but not faved as much. Maybe it's because of the watchers and fans of the artist who faves things without thinking much.XD, i don't know the real reason this happens XD.

I don't believe pageviews or fan club makes an anime artist a quality one. But i find it weird that many artist here are more concerned in pageviews and having their own fanclub then concentrating to improve their work O____O. But cheers to those who has fanclubs and superb pageviews but continuing to be better. For those inspiring artist, don't bother to much to get comments or pageviews. Concentrate on your work and when you have improve, people will comment.

Made this entirely with Prisma markers.White correctors were used to create the lighting.

I know, i know, i kinda messed things up. But the fact i colored using only a 100 yen sketch paper is another things. It caused the super bleeding TT____TT.

Lately, i just realised how much i feared failing into doing something. I just hate myself for being that way.

I think

knows me more than anyone else in DA....she is the only person who knows me personally outside DA anyway. Haiya, I can become a coward. I mean...i have been invited to join fest, competitions and also features in magazines and also submissions for mangas and comics.....but i just kept backing off in the last minute because of fear.......of public and also maybe because i don't have confident in my works. I feel that all my works are trashy...don't know why. I know they can look better if i spend more time on them......but i just can't cause i get bored halfway XD.

With my pc going nuts, my monitor dying and my scanner broken..i feel even worse. I don't have enough money to buy new stuffs. The other day, i went to KLCC to look at all the COPIC markers, i can't even afford them. God, they're expensive!! I wonder how some artist are able to buy the whole set. I can't even buy mangas and comics for reference and inspiration since my mom banned me from buying and keeping mangas. Yeah....i read secretly from the internet...but that's all.

Oh well, we can't always get to be or have what we want eh?

Q and A again. Important to those who have asked me questions.

Q: Norli, can i use your artwork for my website layout, avatar, signature etc..?
A: Ask me first. If i don't answer in 3 days; it means no. If you get an answer from me saying yes, then go ahead and use it.

Note: Anyone caught using my works without my permission will be finding themselves facing legal charges. It's getting serious lately; i have no idea why some of you steal my works or use them illegally but it's time i take action.If you're using my stuff now without my permission; before you get caught; stop using or distributing them illegally.

Q:What do you use to make your artworks?
A: Go read the artist comments. I wrote what i used for each piece.I won't answer anymore questions about this.It's annoying and stupid.

A: As much as i want to do that; i just can't. Don't ask me why. I have no time for myself even. If you need comments; try posting at [link] at the art arena. Make an effort.

Q: Do you make comic and anime for a living?
A: It's a part time job.

A: I'm trying to make a tutorial once i finish my exam. If i have time.

A: Sadly no. I have to focus on my manga and exams.

Q:How come you don't answer my note,comments or email?
A: I don't go online often since i am very busy.How busy you ask? I slept a barely 3-4 hours a day.....only when i am lucky enough i get to sleep!Most of the time i rarely sleep at all.Why am i busy? Gee....I don't know. Go take architecture then you'll know!
