Miniature Tigers Fortress
Love this album saw these guys 4 times this year and each show was better than the last.
They have sweet lyrics and cool music that has a lot of range playing with different styles of the
Indie rockverse.  I really like Egyptian Robes, Japanese Woman in My Closet, Lolita, and Bullfighter Jacket all the songs are good for different reasons though.

the bouncing souls opened they were pretty awesome

i also saw Built to Spill a couple weeks back
and my friends electronic band that uses samples from basketball games
in all the songs its dunkcore apparently it was pretty weird

my hovercraft was working pretty well it has "blue steel" written on the side of it if you ever see it

i got there in time to see the last 3 songs of the first opener

got a whiskey sour and used my ninjitsu skills to get to the front

they played the tetris song as their 2nd to last one it was pretty flippin sweet i love tetris it made me

at this divey bar called chasers
they had really strong drinks 3 bucks for rum and coke
that was essentially rum with a eyedropper of coke in it lol

first rapper astronautilus was kinda like tom waits rapping
very raspy and old manish

K-os was the headliner and he has a cool band of two drummers
guitarist, keyboardist and a dj  decent rocking set

I didnt get there til devo played at 4ish as they were the main reason I wanted to go and because it was super hot that day so I didnt want to get there earlier.

I wore my devo hat which is the red energy dome made famous in the video whip it.
They were selling blue ones for 30 did not buy :P too poor and I like my classic red better.

I hadnt realized almost all of their songs have that.  The vibra slap is this percussion instrument.that sounds like a rattlesnake rattling kinda. is a percussion instrument consisting of a piece of stiff wire (bent in a U shape) connecting a wood ball to a hollow box of wood with metal "teeth" inside. The percussionist holds the metal wire in one hand and strikes the ball (usually against the palm of their other hand). The box acts as a resonating body for a metal mechanism placed inside with a number of loosely fastened pins or rivets that vibrate and rattle against the box.  From wikipedia!

Next was math the band they were kinda like Matt and Kim but probably even less talented than them which is saying something as Matt and Kim are pretty suck. If you havnt heard them basically Matt and Kim is a guy named Matt (duh)

it was my first time exhibiting there and I did pretty well.
I sold a lot of commissioned sketch cards. I also did one commission sketch comic book cover my first one for the guy that runs pop culture paradise in tempe.  That was my first one and i think i did a pretty decent job on it.  It's an avengers blank cover and I drew a pretty standard ironman on it.  It'll be displayed at pop culture paradise so if you live in tempe go take a look at it!

I havnt really been going to any shows for awhile since i was busy trying to get stuff done for con but i prolly will start going again.

Vampire Weekend last last tues was amazing

and Band of Skulls was pretty awesome too I got better pics of them at least
it was easier to get up to the front as the indie rock crowd was split between going there or to arctic monkeys which i wish i couldve seen but band of skulls was cheaper

fri didnt make it to the white rabbits show just worked on comics
and sat. i got some kick ass records at record store day got a couple freebies
too i really love the zia local music comp usually i only like a few tracks off
