I still find him inspirational to this day. Just listening to his music, from the Beatles days to the solo days is enough to put a smile on my face. All of his songs seem to reflect whatever I'm going through, and I wasn't even alive when he wrote this material!

Of course I appreciate his other talents too. I recommend reading "Lennon" by Ray Coleman, reading into John's life is surreal.

I've been toying around with an idea for years now that may possibly come to fruitpunchtation or end up like Duke Nukem Forever. That's right, a video game starring a devious little robot named Wubose is about to be in the works.

Last night I realized I hadn't picked up a pen in a while since all my doodles have been made in MSPaint lately. I think I might've improved since the last time I drew something. The sketchbook has been lonely!

Oh yeah, I was going for a run the other day like I usually do and I came up with an idea for a Mario comic. I might write the story, although if anybody would like to collaborate on a comic/story with me that'd be cool, just hit me up on AIM or here or something to brainstorm!

So the other day I was talking about getting a ride down to the storage area to pick up my scanner but I have a feeling that might not happen. "Our" (meaning my mother's company) car was totaled in an accident the other day. Some dude slammed into a car and both cars slammed into our car, which was parked at the time. They were both able to drive off without a problem. Thanks a lot guys.

Oh yeah, in between keeling over while clutching my stomach and continuing to get rejected at jobs, I fixed my old crummy microphone! I've been recording my guitar playing for the first time in a year and I must say that...hey, what's this? Could it be? It is! It's him!

I have a few drawings I want to do soon, I just don't know when I'll do them. One of them is about running in the rain, some about faeries, the fruit punch faeries, and other things I've been meaning to draw. I'm going to pick up my scanner soon so the MSPaint doodles will be less in numbers.

Oh and I updated UV the other day, I might update it again within the next day or two.

Speaking of dreams, I've been having lucid dreams lately. I wonder if they're being caused by a mixture of long exhausting walks in the heat and coke & rum? Possibly!

The first lucid dream I had a few weeks ago was a Mario dream. I wasn't heavily involved, but I sat on a floating mushroom over looking a Mushroom village watching events unfold. To the right was a forest, and beyond that was a castle. Slowly the castle and forest was enraptured in darkness and monsters started popping up only in the darkness. It turns out I was inside a Mario Multiplayer Online RPG (not massive), and other players were getting ready for a Castle raid, not knowing of the darkness that was coming!

When I woke up I was amazed that I could float down to the ground in the dream and feel the grass and the trees and the wind blowing from the darkness. It felt so real! Could this be a sign that I need to finally start making games?

The other lucid dreams I've had recently weren't geeky but they were still amazing. Too amazing to be revealed on the internets.

It's no secret that I've been intrigued by the spiritual unknown for several years. Back in high school I'd read and write about Awareness, I took a yoga class, and I've had frequent lucid dreams over the years and had an out of body experience when I was younger.

Last night I decided to get back into becoming one with the cosmic forces and actually felt my spirit leave my body. Unfortunately I was still anchored down by the chest so I felt my legs float in the air, it was weird. It's cool if you don't believe in this stuff, but man is it ever peaceful.

So! I'll keep you updated in the comments section! Onward, to the unknown!

#867 - "But Don't Boar Me."


It's odd, but in my prime I was capable of churning out a comic within two hours, but this last one took me two times longer than that just to "sketch" out the details of the strip.

So anyway, I'm disappointed that I never got around to doing the second part of the High Seas Hijinks crossover because I seriously came up with the idea back in 2004 when Capn and I became friends.

Basically the 1st half went sort of the way I originally envisioned it, but the second half, henceforth known as the missing chapter, will go untold.

I was going to spend some time on the Soda War in this chapter and have some minor/big revelations. For instance, NW-NW became KefkaNW because George the moogle (bebbies) told him to steal Kef's identity. These are the same George and Kef from the old Kefka's Comics subcomic (found here: [link] )

The "Forbidden Island" was actually an island that the Nomad known as Gaia went off to thousands of years before the story. KefNW unknowingly sat on top of extreme power, Gaia's prototype gems.

But now I'll just have to skip over what I had originally planned and go with the flow. It'll be fun, hopefully. Lots of people were intrigued when NW revealed that the "good guys" were actually just as dirty as the bad guys. I hope to capture the same suspense as before and possibly wrap up all loose ends before UV comes to a finish.

Some comics may be done while I'm under strange substances 'cuz that's how I roll.

Now I have evolved into Hobo NW.

Universal Voyage is getting a make over! The beginning is pretty dated (An Austin Powers reference within the first eight strips? Really?) and I always heard the most complaints about the comic way back then. People still refuse to read the comic today because of the beginning.

So I'm revamping UV. It'll still retain the plot elements, but the really embarrassing stuff will be taken out. The fact that it's gonna look nicer is a bonus too.

The beginning chapter really should emphasize that NW is a visitor from another planet and he's been living on a new one for the past year without much trouble. He's basically trying to start a new chapter of his life. Then everything goes to hell.

In my last journal entry I didn't have a job. Well, that all changed in October and since then I've saved up over 2000 dollars. It's good to have money, but what I was doing was wrong. With all the drama that was going on at work, I'm surprised that I hadn't left sooner. But that won't be a problem since I am currently unemployed. It's funny, I'm also penniless. Everything has come around full circle. It's a bit of a long story, so I'll spare you all the details.


I've been doodling again! There's a picture that I drew and I think it's OK, but I'm going to wait a while before uploading it to dev-art. I still have some unfinished business to attend to, but I'm sure I'm going to be drawing again real soon.

I can't believe I've made 600 Universal Voyage comics. Most comics on the fansite would end somewhere around their 100s, others (such as JHB) stopped in their mid 300s. The fact that I kept going past 400, 500, and now 600 just amazes me. The semester is finally over too. I want to get back into drawing (I haven't uploaded anything new since November) and making more comics, but I'm lacking inspiration. Oh well. Now that I'm not typing ten papers a week I can play video games to cheer me up. Super Mario RPG, anyone?

It also appears that over the past month I haven't checked in on 346 devwatch deviations. Whoops. I think I'll try to start anew with that.

This summer went by too quickly for my tastes. I want my summer back!

Not that I actually did anything over vacation. Most of the time was spent either sleeping, swimming, doing nothing, and drinking fruit punch. (vwoot) Ah well... I'm looking forward to next summer. I'm not ready for the Fall and Winter yet.
