--Convention trips went AWESOME, and we feel financially comfortable enough to move out on our own and have since found a really cute place in the Pilsen area of chicago. So bye-bye 3 hour commute! Furthermore, due to Brion's sister moving back into the parents house for med school, we now have tons of kitchen stuff and between my mom, dad, and brion's parents, we have just about all the furniture we need. ^^

--Did some life drawings last weekend, may post them on DA! Later today. Caleb, if you're interested in drawing more pin-upy poses and cool costumes from life, check out Dr. Sketchy's Chicago. It meets on the 4th saturday of every month and features a life drawing session with Burlesque and roller derbie babes. No fully nudes--just pasties, but fun nonetheless as they have contests and whatnot for best drawing (I won a book ^^ ).

--Dirk is getting married next week! Wish him well here ([link]).

--Currently making plans to squish my speakers into the AAA's speaker list, as well as plan a whole little show thing

--Comic is doing well, and I'm definitely feeling that these last couple pages are the best pages I've done. Feelin' good.

--New computer is up and running, but I have to buy a new copy of windows as the old copy was a stupid OEM copy that won't recognize anything other than an HP motherboard. Curse you HP! *shakes fist*

--Working super-hard to get a buffer of comics done so I can still update while we work on getting the net installed in the new place. Big move-in date is labor day! ^^

--Have a NORMAL school schedule this year! Huzzahs for no late classes! ^^

Anyway, now I'm getting back to my coloring, and finally stuff about "advanced" coloring is sinking back into my head. For instance, I'm having a LOT of fun making up textures, like the beaten up effects for the metal work and the masks in the 2 recent ones I've done. And I also fell in love with the Difference Cloud filter. That's like, the awesomest filter ever. Lessee, still love my waccom--no hand cramps after a couple hours of coloring, huzzah! Plus pressure sensitivity! That thing is sooooooo worth the money. Lessee, printer/scanner/faxer now hooked up officially, had trouble installing the software, and the goddam instruction BOOK they give you had NOTHING on what was wrong, so I messed around in My Computer and got it to register the goddam thing. I fucking rock.

Oh yes, Wizard World. Here's my report thingie:

My mom had a patient to see at 8, so she dropped me off there at 7 since I read on the site that 8 was when it started. Unfortunately, it turns out they started selling tickets at 9 on sunday, so I wandered around the convention center for a while before going to the expensive cafe in the Hyatt. But it was cool, cause while wandering at the Con center, I met this really nice black guy who gave me a shitload of advice for promoting myself. He pointed out a bunch of pieces he said were really "powerful" (Cradle of Death and the Weather Witch) and remarked about how talented I was for 16. So I was like, "Yay!" and walked off as he went to sell his stuff to dealers. Anyway, I was waitin in line and sketchin and got a bunch of people interested, so I gave em this address, so if any of you are reading this right now, HI! Anyway, after I got my ticket, I waited in another line for the doors to open, gave this page to some other people, and went in. That was when I was blown away by all the comic book stuffs. I swear, I think it was bigger this year than last year. Anyway, I started raiding various booths for free shit, so I got like, 3 manga preview books from tokyo pop, punisher and House of the dead movie pins, some cool posters from Dark Horse, stickers and other stuff from Indie Comic people, and a bunch of other shit I haven't sorted through yet. Anyway, I saw this one booth guy looking over this chicks portfolio, so then I asked him to look over mine, and he said pretty much the same thing the black guy said, and then pointed to where Marvel was doing portfolio reviews. So off to Marvel I skipped, not really caring by now if my stuff was good enough to show em, just happy that I was able to show stuff to the 'higher ups' in the Biz'. So yeah, fast forward about 2 1/2 hours and the guy said that a bunch of nice things about my work and said that I had a "fun and interesting style". But yeah, I forgot my sequencial work at home...OOPS. Anyway, now I'm tired, hungry and high on compliments. So off to the overpriced cafe I went where I bought a small flat soda and chips for $5.50. I am not kidding -_-. Anyway, the overpriced cafe (not NEARLY as cool as the Hyatt's overpriced cafe) was near the blue line pro booth, so I spent a bunch of my remaining funds on new inking pens. That's right, I go to the biggest comic book/toy fair in the midwest and what do I get? INKING PENS! CAUSE I'M COOL. I saw the booth for Life's So Rad, but the lady wasn't there so I walked on...into a comic book store where I got the first 2 issues of Runnaways. God I love that comic so much. That used the rest of my money. So I'm tired, happy, and I have a dollar in my pocket. Off to the anime room I went to naturally, and there I stayed until closing where I saw 2 episodes of Witch Hunter Robin (really spiffy art) and Blood: The Last Vampire (must...buy...). And then, my mom picked me up, and as I was leaving, I saw the marvel guy! and he remembered my name! yay! Wizard world chicago was last weekend. Fucking HUGE comic book convention, so naturally a wannabe artist would go there to show off her stuff, right? So yeah, I decided to go sunday as friday I was working, and saturday I had a dentist appointment I couldn't get out of (ugh). Anyway, on friday night I started printing out some of my newer photoshop works as the newest colored piece in my portfolio's the Cradle of Death pic =\

Anyway, I started with the angel of hope pic. It prints out to dark, so I adjust the image, go to reprint and it announces a paper jam. So I take all the paper out, cancel the job, go to reload the paper, and the fucking piece of shit loads the paper about an inch and then the cyllinder started spinning round n' round w/out catching the paper =\ So I unplugged teh thing, replugged it, then waited for it to print out the shit it usually prints when you unplug it. It starts printing...without paper -_- So basically, I talked to a bunch of people...including vicky(who is chitwari, lol) and heart-shards, and then had Peter Biel the great Computer Dude come over. And basically, it died. So yeah, R.I Fucking P. Epson Color 880 printer. You've given me hell over these past 3 years.

Anyway, I called vicky, her printer was out of ink, but barb, said I could come over after my dentist appointment to use hers. So luckily I CALL (as she lives about a mile walk from me) only to have her tell me she realized her printer was out of ink =\ "Well," mused I, "There's a kinko's not to far from here'...Not to far happened to be a 2 mile walk. In 85 degree weather + humidity. And, being the intelligent person that I am, I chose to do it in flip flops. So I get there with HUGE fucking blisters on my feet, sweating like hell as OF COURSE I was wearing black, only to find out that some ASSHOLE deleted all their photoshop software. "Wait...so you CAN'T print my stuff out...?" "For the 9th time, no" "But...but..you're fucking KINKOS!" Sla, alas, no miracle happened so I walked home in my bare feet pretty much as my blisters hurt so goddam much.

My mom came home round 7ish, and said we'd buy a printer. So we got a Lenmark one, pretty cool, scanner/copier too, and then we went out to eat, getting home round 8:30ish. So I scurry off to hook up the printer as my mom realizes she forgot something at the office and went back. So anyway, I'm hooking it up, and when it comes time to get the usb cable, I realize it's not there. So I rummage around the box, the wrappings, tear the room apart, etc, but no cable =\ That's when I notice the USB CABLE SOLD SEPARATELY in tiny letter son the side of the box -_- So I run back to the garbage can, grab our USB Cable from our old printer with a small glimmer of hope that they may be compatible. Alas, they are not. BUT, I remember there's an Office Max nearby!

Immediately I set out for Office Max, happy thoughts of people looking over my new shit with admiration in my mind. I get there only to find out that they close at 9:00. It was 9:05. So I did the only thing I could think of: pounding on the doors and screaming at the top of my lungs for them to open the fucking doors. So this dickwad comes over, points to his watch and says they're closed. FIVE FUCKING MINUTES AFTER FUCKING CLOSING ASSHOLE, IT'S A FUCKING EMERGENCY. Jesus fuck, the Gamestop people let us in 10 minutes after closing when we busted a controller and needed a replacement in order to finnish Balder's Gate. See, the gamer's understand. These fucking office people though... *shakes head* So yeah, I basically went home, cried, and filled the rest of my portfolio w/ original sketches...which is what I REALLY hate doing as say, I spill coffee accidently on it...I'm fucking screwed =\ But hey, that didn't happen, so yeah, I had a blast at WW. I also have a pile of laundry built up from the past 2 weeks to do, it's really sad. I barely ever do my laundry....only when I'm out of clothes do I do it. And yeah, I'm wearing my gym shorts from last year and a shirt with 10 benifits of Morphine. Basically, the bands preforming were Swidden (headlining), Liftpoint, Reforma, and A.D.D. I had gotten a demo from Swidden at another show, and caught the end of Liftpoint's set when I went to see Escape from Earth and Crash Poet, and the song was pretty cool, so we figured, "What the hell, thursdays suck, and the show's $8." Anyway, we get there and surprizingly, the club went through some restoration. So yeah, immediately I started crying as the cieling wasn't going to fall on us anymore (seriously, before you'd know a band was good by how much of the cieling rained down on your head). But hey, a safe building is always a good thing, so the fear for your life is reserved for the pits.

Basically, at chris's local club, they didn't have a balcony or something, so we went up there so he could see what bands are like from above, ha ha. A.D.D. was the first band, and they were REALLY REALLY COOL for the first band. DL their stuff if you're able to, as their set was AMAZING. Then, Reforma came on, and their stuff was pretty cool too, sorta like some weird techno hardcore punk shit. And the turntable dude was hot. Anyway, as Liftpoint was setting up, we realized that the lead guitarist from A.D.D. was standing across from us! So we got him to sign stuff and he gave me a hug, and then we talked a bit. He was really nice ^_^ Lol, Liftpoint was pretty cool as well, and the lead singer/guitarist was DEAD SEXY. After their set we went downstairs cause Chris wanted to mosh a bit, and as we're walking through the lobby, we notice the Liftpoint guys are there! So chris dared me to say something perverted to the singer, so I walked up to him and asked for a hug. He then replied "Yeah, sure, but I'm kinda hot and sweaty right now" so I hugged him and replied with a small smile "I like my guys hot and sweaty" and then we went to see Swidden, ha ha. And yeah, Swidden wasn't that great, their brand of metal sounded really generic =\ But hey, it was really cool. And ESCAPE FROM EARTH'S COMIN BACK! HUZZAH!

People need food to live, right? I mean, we don't have any pizza anymore, and like, I can eat pizza for all my meals (I've had to do it before =\ ) and not get sick of it, but still. I mean, how long is it until you begin to suffer the effects of malnutrition? And it's not like we're poor or anything, my mom's a home health RN, so yeah, she's just fucking LAZY. I NEED FOOD.

I'd really like some milk. That way I could eat some of the stale cake that's taunting me as cake tastes really bad with only water to drink =\ The other day I noticed we had some apple juice. I drink some of it only to spit it out and discover the shit was from last year -_-.

Worst of all this lack of food is that there's no SODA. I NEED SODA TO LIVE. GODAMMIT WHY DOESN'T SOMEONE GET ME SOME SODA?!!

My mom just got me a job. I am a Clerical Assistant in the IV dept. of UltraCare Home Medical. Which is basically a fancy way of saying I file papers.

I really have a new respect for nurses. The packets I was putting together were 21 forms long. The ones for kids were 26 forms long. Some of the single forms had more than one page =\\\ So yeah, it's not cool at all.

I don't have cable, first of all, so I'm not talking about the station (though I'm sure it is). I'm talking about the website. -_-

Anyway, it all started with a visit to Alkaline Trio's website...I wanted the lyrics for "We've had Enough" to post on this message board, when I noticed on the front page that they had the video played on mtv, and that it was downloadable on [link].

So, liking the song, and curious as to what the video was like, off to [link] I went. There, I clicked on the download button, and the video popped up on my media player. It was really cute, lol, the Trio are basically ghosts haunting this couple's house while singing emo lyrics to a pop-punkish beat. Good times.

Naturally, I thought, "Hey, wow, if I can see this video here, I wonder what other videos I can see?"

So I decided to check out Evanescence to see the 'Bring me to Life' video. Pretty much because they were listed on the bottom of the page. So I go, click to dl, and then watch as it plays about 3 seconds of the middle of the song before crapping up on me and saying there was some server problem.

So I was like, "Ok, let's check out Rage Against the Machine, I want to see what their vocalist looks like" I go to dl "Renagades of Funk" and it just doesn't load. 'Testafy' also fails, as well as all the other Rage songs listed.

I then tried like, 6 other bands, and only the newest Deftones song worked out of all of them. So basically, for the next hour, I went on a spree--dling songs from artists of different genres and stuff and determined that maybe 1/9 songs worked.

So, here's my theory. [link] has videos that serve only to waste 5 minutes of your prescious time, getting your hopes up as it buffers only to let you down. Why? Because they like to see you SUFFER knowing that their service is free and you can't complain about lack of videos as you're not paying anything to dl them. The videos that acturally DO work only serve to get your hopes up, making you think that "Hey, if this one works, the next one has to as well!" so in this sense, they lure you into wasting more of your time. So yes, I have wasted time at [link] and fallen into their evil corporate plot.
