It's been a busy little while for me - working and then hospital for the past two weeks.

Have shot a couple of events - the Bay to Birdwood and the 90th Anniversay of the Battle of Birsaba.

There's an update of some picture of the Battle of Birsaba, but unfortunatley due to copyright, I cannot show the shots of the Bay to Birdwood.

What else? Heading of around the world for 9 weeks, with the Missus - hitting up Brazil, Germany and the surrounds and finally spending a week in Singapore for our 3 year anniversary - can't wait. Expect to see a lot of photos from the trip updated either as we go or in one marathon upadate when I get back.

I had a rather large Journal update planned in my head, but I've just lost all my thoughts that I was going to update with, which really sucks.

I just managed to snap up a Nikon D2x, extra battery and a full version of Nikon Capture 4 for AU$4,750.

The D2x is a bloody nice camera (should be for the money) the two shots Sunset Wheatand Arms Wide Open are the first shots to grace dA from the new camera.

*Most of you AP fellas must be sick of this... lol

AJ Photography (ajphotoart.deviantart.com) is a collaborative effort between Oliver Andrews and Matthew Jeffery - two young photographers aiming to make a name in the industry. matthew leans towards the experimental side of photography - lens reversal, technical modifications, and others, whereas, Oliver leans towards the more classic side of photography, including portraits, landscapes, and more recently infrared photography. The aim of this gallery is to showcase our works for the general public and prospective clients. It will be updated once a week with a selection of five images from each photographer from that week.

Things that were purchased:

-Nikon D70s w/ 18-70mm Kit Lens.
-Nikkor 70-300mm F4.5-F5.6 G
-Nikon SB800 Speedlight

It has been a learning curve as it is quite a step up from my Lumix FZ30, but hey it was well worth it.

Keep an eye out for photos in the coming days as I have some more time to play with it, but in the mean time enjoy: The Twig, Eerie, and Street Fountain the first images taken with the new camera.

What can I say, I'm an excited boy lol.

It's either sunny one minute and raining the next or just so clouded over that the light is shocking. BOOOO!

Anyway not much else happening, managed to put one more deviation up, The Stream - The only one shot that has been worth keeping in the past few weeks, needless to say that I have been flat out with studying for midyears, and that has taken a fair bit of time.

Spent the holidays with my girlfriend of 17months - a great time was had there. She really is fantastic. SHe also has a knack for photography check The Photographer or the background to my DevID. That is a portrait that she took of me, and let me put up as my own.

Seeing as the school year is heading into it's final term (well for Year 12s, anyway) I don't think that I am going to be able to update as often as I had hoped, although that has pretty much happened already.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get out and about as there is a nice resevoir and stream not that far from me, I plan (keyword plan - usually they don't happen ) to get up there for a few hours tomorrow.

Will keep you guys posted. Hopefully can get some decent pics.

For all the Aussie watchers out there I'd like to give a big shout out to the AusPhotography Forums a great fledgling site that has been up for just over a month and has already collected a heap of talent, it is run by fellow deviants J-E-K-Y-L-L and Gypsy-Girl both of them have fantastic galleries, head on over to AP or their galleries and check em out.

Even though it was a 2-2 draw, the city went nuts!

Started at a few local pubs then progressed to one of the main city sport bars, proceeded to drink for the enitre 90mins.
