Pratt's going really well. The classes are interesting, teachers are good, friends are awesome, etc. Loving NYC a lot.
I have a boyfriend now. His name is Jeffrey. We've known eachother since we were 15, started dating over winter break. He's a cutie.
Can't wait for warmer weather. sick of the cold. Just got over the flu, still have a slight ear infection but it happens.

i fucking LOVE pratt. i'm so glad i came here. i think it's definitely the best place for me, meant to be in other words. the classes are insanely hard and stressful but i love the work we do and the teachers are great. my drawing is improving a lot and my LCD teacher thinks i would be an amazing designer so thats awesome. my friends here are amazing. i love them. my roommate is a fashiond esign major and she's from puerto rico. she's awesome. my suitemates are cool too. ones a writing major from the US and the other is a graphic design major from Taiwan. pretty cool. i really miss home and my family and best friends a lot but nyc is great. the nightlife is really fun. i'm going to see anthony green again tonight third time since i got here. not with circa survive though, solo tonight yay. so yes i'm doing great so far. pretty stoaked
i'm in art history right now., its pretty boring, not gona lie. we just had a midterm. greek art i killed. i completely bombed on aegean though. egyptian and prehistoric i think i did aright. we'll have to seeeee.
so yesss i dont know what else to write haha.

anthony green sent out his solo album to the people who preordered it (aka me). so i got it in the mail that day, and what do i see? on the lyric book, one of my photographs (My Only Cupcake) was in a collage on the front of the lyric book!

he had some these things called missions on his myspace, there were about 12 total. you would respond to each mission with artwork or a picture of somekind for inspiration for him, depending on what the topic was. i responded to a few, one of them being your favorite food. i love cupcakes, so i sent it. just for fun.

he had said not to send anything you dont want used, because there was a chance it could be used for album artwork. i figured since nothing cool happens to me, there would be no chance of that.
i was wrongggg =]

thank god. the best part is, i showed me basic design teacher from the summer, who is currently a teacher there now AND she's an alumni ANDD! she's dating the guy whose in charge of who gets in and who doesn't. so she knows what they want.

she said my drawings were really good, that i was above the average applicant (which blew my mind), and that my drawings were up to parr and that i had a good chance. that made me so happy. fk;ladjsfl;kd. nervouss.

I'm doing drivers ed this week. mary and mike are in it along with my brother, and these two guys josh and justin i know. and this girl kate, whose a vegi like me =] haha.
so i've actually been having fun hangin with them. i was dredding it figuring i'd be the only senior, but i wans't =] there were many haha. not from seekonk but a lot from RI.
and i've met some cool people there too =] yay.

mike and i are really good now. i'm glad. he finally opened up to me the other night and told me that he still likes me and has all along. and a bunch of other stuff he would never have normally admited. i was so shocked that i ended up spilling how i feel too. so we both like eachother again. well we always have but whateverr. haha =]

i saw a lunar eclipse tonight. it was amazing. i love space. and the stars and moon and planets and all that. it was beautiful. one of those things you can't really find the words for. i watched it cover the moon and then it turned red. i used our telescope too. good thing alyssa reminded me it was tonight haha. really cool.

I got my acceptance letter for scad, even though i knew i got in, it was nice o get the letter =] haha. i got it yesterday. so that made me happy. 2 down, waiting on 3. i should find out about SVA soon. i think i'll get in there.

for once i'm actually proud of myself. i'm happy with my life and the way things are going. and i've had a really strong love for my friends lately. like, idk i just really appreciate them. especially rina and tina. i love those two to death. i love beth tot and tori too. but i've known rina and tina a lot longer lol.
davids back at school. i'm glad. i know he can do it. he just has to believe in himself and he can do anything. i'm proud of him for stickin it out again.

hmmm. well i'm gonna go to bed. seeing as i have to get up early ;]

but at the same time, i know multiple who have gotten in. so i don't know.. it's really mixed. and the worst part is i can't find ONE thing that separates the people who got in from the people who didn't art-wise. Some of thep eople they rejected, their portfolios were better than some of the people who got in. that must be about grades partially but i dont know. its like theyre looking for different things in different people.

i just hope to GOD they see something in me. theres nowhere else i'd rather be than risd. fkladsjfl.

we waited in line for a good 4 hours to get in, but itwas worth it cuz i was able to go right to RISD and wait in line. i was the 5th one and there were 7 people getting reviewed when i went up. when it was my turn i got up to this really nice lady, she was the last of the 7 so i was in a corner which was good.

she took my stuff out, she loved all my self portraits. i was so happy. she also really liked my painting style, but she didnt like my santorini painting. it's older so i can see why. its not my best. however the guy from SVA loooved it. he said it was my best. funny how its so subjective haha.
but yeah, the lady from risd took one look at me after and said "this portfolio has so much potential for risd. just work on your drawings and make sure theyre your best, and you have a very good chance"
well, i'm sure you can imagine how happy i was. and my mom was like hysterical haha. she gave me her card and told me to call her if i want her to look at my drawings before i send them in for applications.
so i was on cloud nine. i've heard horror risd protfolio review stories.

so then we went to school of visual arts, my second choice. they have a 50% acceptance rate, which is way better than risd's 33% so i was much more confident with getting in there. when we went to see the school though, i was a little nervous because the work that we saw in the school was SO good.
when i got up there, the guy was SO nice. he looked at my stuff and everything he took out he loved. he said my photographs aren't as artistic, but more commercial which is okay. he also gave me his card and told me to call if i was thinking about doing photography.
so once he was done looking at all my stuff, he said i'm gonna pass your portfolio. i looked at my mom and she didn't know what he meant either, os he was like "that means that your stuff that i'm seeing right now is good enough to get into SVA so you dont have to send in your portfolio if you apply. So basically you're half way in, and it was the harder half too. all you have to do is send the app and the transcript and you're basically in"
well then i basically did backflips. I mean, i basically just got into my 2nd choice and i really liked it there. so i was pretty damn excited. and my mom was like "we're going out after and buying you a drink, holy shit." haha

so then we waited in an hour long line for MASSart and the lady i got was kinda wierd. she kept saying she liked my stuff but it was so hard to tell. she kept going on about how i need to use better paper? lol. idk. she gave me some awsome crit though as far as what i need to fix but she wouldnt even look at all my stuff. which pissed me off cuz the opint of a portfolio is to see it as a whole.
so like she started off saying that i needed more of a variety and all that stuff. i only had 5 out of 25 peices out. and then my mom thank god spoke up and was like she has a ton more.
and the lady was like oh! then take it out!
so i took it o ut which is what she orignally told me not to do, and one i did she was like OH! nevermind! this is good. and my mom and i were like wtf... so yeah she was strange. i couldnt tell what she was trying to tell me haha.

i went to pratt but the line was so long that by the time we got there it would have been over. so we just left. it was good enough anyway. my first two schools gave me a lot of hope. so i'm very happy and i feel very inspired from all the other artists i talked to.

first of all, i feel lost since RISD precollege ended. i miss everyone there, the teachers, the school itself, the environment, the feeling of it. mostly the independence. i wanna go back so bad. i wish it was 8 weeks instead of 6. =[

the greek festival is this weeked. i'm going all three days to hang out with my lovely greek friends =] yayy.

projekt revolution is also coming up. very excited. going with tina, nikki, nick, and martina =] should be quite fun!

i still havn't done my summer reading. i got my schedule. i'm really excited for my portfolio class. it sounds like it'll be a good one, better than my junior year one. being the only junior was a little.. whats the word... ... ... crap ... um.. ugh i forget the word. shit. whatever. i felt like i totally didnt belong in there. of course once i got into the course i was fine but still. i think it would be better with people i know.

but as for school itself, i dont really want to go. actually i dont want to go at all. but maybe this year will be better. last year was just one big party NOT. sucked ass.

my roommates are amazing.
i'm in the only 3-person room on campus. luck ? YES. we have our own bathroom too so we dont have to share with 10 other people. its a beautiful thing.
the first one i met was Orm. Her ream name is Jarupa but Orm is her nickname. She's so cute, she's from Thailand, so cool. She's in my major too, interior architecture.
The other one is Jing, her long name is Jingan. She's from hong kong, i ove how they both from out of the country.
Then theres this girl Charis who i met on facebook before the program and we became friends because she recognized me and now she's in a room a lot.

my major is okay, its a TON of work. we had a critique yesterday on the work we've been doing. i spent 7 hours with a 1 hour break inbetween that but man. i've been working like crazy. risd is really intense.
but in my major its all girls, theyre so nice, everyone gets along. its a beautiful thing. haha. i'm usually with orm, erin, kristie, iva, melanie, and morgan. they're all great though.
we have to make a soundscape with a certain song. i used the song Space Dementia by Muse since its so dramatic and powerful if you rally look at the lyrics. it came out cool, she was a little rough with it but she liked my ideas overall. i just have to pull themtogether.
we had to do a ton of idea sketches and

drawing was amazing. the teacher is so nice. i actually found that i have a knack for drawing. she told me i had a lot of talent too which made me feel better and she said that with a few more classes my skills will increase dramatically. that also made me smile huge haha.
i have due on tuesda: a skeleton drawing on big paper, a smaller skull drawing, 3 pairs of eyes, 3 noses, and 3 mouths.
all i have done so far is half the skeleton and 1 pair of eyes. AHHAHA i need to work.

ANDDDD my basic design class is amazing. the teacher gradutaed from risd last year! she's so young and we're working with guaosh (i think ! thats how you spell it but i'm not sure) and its fun!
for wednesday i have to have 2 self portraits, one using a cool pallette and one using a warm pallette. not too bad. then the next week we have this 7 deadly sins painting. mine is lust. i still am not sur what i'm gonna do with it yet.

I have art history in a half hour. i'm gonna go to the met with orm and get some lunch soon.



basically i love risd. its very challenging and stressful but the environment is great. the only class that's eh is my major. i might switch for college especially if i come here ince the major is interior architecture, but i've o nly been her like 6 days so idk yet. i'll figure it out

sooo yeah =] i'm quite happy with this precollege thing.

well somehow, clocks is the only song reaching me. i've never liked it this much.
hahahaa. wow.

i took my math exam today. easy easy. i brought up my quarter grade 12 points.
magic? maybe.
i took my art exam too. but we just made tshirts=] it was fun since theres only 7 people left cuz of the seniors leaving and all.
i kinda like how mine came out. beth didn tlike hers, but hers was different from everyone elses. i think thats why i really liked it. it stood out.
mingo's was amazing. i loved hers. she used the hot pink shirt so her's really stood out. her composition was incredible too.
sadly i didnt get to finish =[ i'm too critical so i take forever. gotta fix that.

i can't go to warped tour. someone keeps rubbing it in my face.
its making me slightly irritated. just slightly.
i'm goign to projekt revolution though. and i dont care. it'll be fun.
i'm going with fun people. and i know they'll go in the crowds and just go crazy with me.
