This is because I am worried about art thieves and idea theft.

Sequels. We hear about them all the time. WOW, THERE'S A REALLY GOOD MOVIE. Wow, I love it. Wow, we made alot of money out of it!
NOW LET'S MAKE A SEQUEL.

TWO WORDS.
NO. THANKYOU.

Unfortunately, we live in the age of poorly written sequels written on the economical whim of companies/directors/producers. Sequels are no longer creative, planned matters. Sequels are now vomitted from the biros of money-crazed idiots, suddenly, and depend on the economic success of the innocent and usually worthy predecessor. If the movie is a flop, they don't bother. If the movie is a success, they think the public is DROOLING FOR MORE.
Which they'd find, if they'd take their noses out of their gold-driven world and pay some attention, IS NOT THE CASE.
These sequels are borne of 2 unfortunate factors in today's society, the first being greed and the second being today's high powered, rushed, stressed lifestyle.
For the people who want sequels, it may be a whim. They need to stop for a moment, and think, and watch the movie again. They need to take it in, to be truly happy with the movie, to enjoy it and to consider it from a serious point of view rather than a quick-to-judge, prejudiced view. Then, if they decide that the movie is suitable for a sequel, can they have their opinion.

Gone are the days when sequels are planned from the start, when the original story is created TO HAVE a sequel. Here are the days when a self-contained, complete, nourished story is then tainted by a spoiling, rude successor that spoils the original clarity, purity and meaning of the original film.

FOR GOODNESS SAKES, PEOPLE. IF YOU MAKE A MOVIE AND WANT A SEQUEL, MAKE THE STORY FLOW SO A SEQUEL IS NOT ABRUPT AND HORRIBLE!!! If you've created a story that begins and ends perfectly, and ALL COMPLICATIONS are solved, DO NOT MAKE A SEQUEL. Construct the story so that there is an underlying plot, or some kind of remaining problem! Either that, or CREATE INTENSE CURIOSITY at the end of the novel that FORESHADOWS what might happen in the future! AND THEN create a sequel!!!

Giving a movie a self-contained title also indicates it is a SELF-CONTAINED movie, yes? Therefore, if you want to make sequel/s, IMPLY that it is the first of 2, or the first in a series!

It is also an unfortunate fact that in today's society, empathy and true imagination is a dying art. Upon a self-contained movie (that hasn't been dogged by a sequel, thank goodness) if it is constructed so, the audience should be encouraged to think about what might happen afterwards, and decide, based upon their morals, what should happen and what they think about it. The movie-makers should think about this, should try and touch the audience through their movie, or make them laugh, or SOMETHING, not extract every last dollar from their wallet!
A sequel simply throws off this natural empathy and encouragement of human imagination! It creates an epilogue that demands attention and forces awkward canonicity.

However maybe it is the pure fact that the many learned critics out there who abhore sequels, do just that, that people keep making cheap sequels. They will see the movie scrupulously, critically, but nevertheless will see the movie. Word will get around about their abhoration and others will be keen to judge of their own accord. Human curiosity should not be manipulated in such a manner.

Having watched countless sequels who throw off the originality and creativity of the original movie and taint it with a spoiling of the imagination, I am endlessly disappointed by the efforts of people who are trying to demand the human imagination sets off on an electric-fenced, one way street.
Movie-making should be a heartfelt passion, not a whimful, money-crazed industry.


If you read this rant the whole way through and would like to flame me or kill me or something, I ask politely for you to please keep your opinions to yourself. I respect the opinions of other people however seek the right to express my own opinions also, which I have just done. Please consider that I do not wish to brainwash everyone into thinking my way, I just wanted to express an opinion.

I've had writers' block lately so please excuse a short hiatus from Hardly Human. (I've been working on some 'deleted scenes' )
When I started on Hardly Human: Coda, the domesticity just flowed outta my head. Now it's coming in these little spurts and at the moment I'm in the middle of the spurts. So there should be some more soon.
You see, when I have writers' block normally, for my usual sci-fi fantasy related stuff, I just watch an episode of Doctor Who or read some sci-fi manga or trapse DeviantArt for some inspiration. This is a list of weird things (mainly slash pairings etc) that I am fascinated with that may happen when my books get published.(that sentence was made of fail.)

1. WendorxBec. Weird. But I've realised, with the way I write DALA 1, it's probably likely.
2. Other slash pairings such as XovaxWendor (eugh. that is foul) or WendorxZorf (which I am expecting).
When my first book comes out, I expect to have some people on the WendorxBec front and some people on the DenxBec front. Should be interesting. I am also expecting people to debate over which one is canon.
3. I had this thought the other day. How many Dev pairings will there be once Back To Infinity gets published to the stage it's published now?!! Seriously. Think about it. Though DevSazz is the only really canon pairing, I've put suggestions in the stories of DevTimeo, DevDen, DevAlonzo, DevDen (for goodness' sake...), DevGem, DevIke (Canon?), DevMarcus (That is just plain... odd.), DevKaren... Probably DevPeter too.
I am expecting the biggest slash thing out of DevDen and DevIke. The next largest will probably be DevTimeo, and then DevGem. DevTimeo will probably be more popular than DevGem because people will probably think that was going on all through Into Infinity. (?)

4. This is weird. But somehow it works. DenPeter. I am expecting quite a bit of DenPeter.
5. Something I fear: people thinking I've copied bits and pieces of Twilight and/or Doctor Who. When commented on a chapter of BTI: Hardly Human, saying that the more she read my stories, the more she got the feeling I was a big fan of Twilight, this horrid swimming feeling came over me. People might think I'm phoney when they get into BTI. I can assure you, however, that my pale-skinned, sparkly-eyed Time Agents have been such for a long time, before I came into contact with Twilight. But how can I prove that to inqusitive readers?
There are several differences, however, between Twilight-esque vampires and my Time Agents. First and foremost, according to the Twilight series, the moment a human is transformed into a vampire, they become pale-skinned, crimson-eyed, etc. In Back To Infinity, when a human looks into the Time Vortex for the first time, the effects are gradual unless the human is exposed to the Vortex for an elongated period of time. Also, Time Agents retain their original eye colour, while Twilight vampires all have crimson eyes (unless they're 'vegetarian', in which case they have yellow eyes.)
And then there's the obvious: Time Agents aren't predators, they don't lust for blood or anything metaphorical of blood, etc etc.
In this fashion, I am slightly annoyed at how Twilight has rewired people's brains.

An update on that; Today I have broken my record by writing a total of 11,000 words. WOOHOO! Except I'm STILL not finished the Coda. This is gonna take a while. Which sucks, because today is most likely the last day I'll be able to write for this holidays, coz I'm going away without a computer for a week, and then when I come back it'll be SCHOOL. omj. So that kinda sucks-ttebayo in the words of . And yes, Sazz, I do realise I probably spelt it wrong but you get the picture. I've managed to spell 93,015 words correctly, so there.

In other news, Supernova is tomorrow and I don't think my costume will be ready.
For starters, (and yes, I am going to blame my mum), my mum put off buying red fabric paint until TODAY. And even if she does buy it, it needs 24 hours to dry, which I can't do. SO. My solution? Mum offered me one of her old red skivvies, which I took, and which happens to fit PERFECTLY, and where the skivvy needed to be white, I cut a hole and have attached half a white skivvy to it. Weird, eh?
I dunno how to sew, though, which sucks because I don't know how to attach it. Glue, anyone?
Anyway, I've painted on the black stripes and spots using the black fabric paint I bought a couple of weeks ago, and that's drying.
So that was the shirt problem.
The problem with the pants is that I don't have subsitute red pants. DX. What the heck am I gonna do! I can't go to Supernova half Bombalurina and half Victoria!! It just ain't done!!! DX
(For those of you who don't know, I'm (supposedly) going as Bombalurina, from the musical 'Cats'.)

In moar other news, I have planned the next few novels/short stories and plots for Back To Infinity and here are the titles. And no, I am not going to tell you what they are about.

My exams and assignments are almost OVER and so I have some more time. (As for the wasps, I'm afraid you'll have to wait to speak to someone in higher authority.) I came home this afternoon and realised there was nothing on. I started stressing. There had to be something on. There absolutely HAD. TO. BE. SOMETHING. ON. (Welcome to my life.)
But there was nothing.
And then I was high.
I was practically bouncing off the walls of the bus in highness. I had a free afternoon. SO. What did I do? I wrote 3,000 more words of lovely Hardly Human, (remembering that HH is actully the Christmas special of BTI. Yeah. Welcome to my life, again.)
(Although, I think having written the LONGEST STORY I HAVE EVER WRITTEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE, at 79, 143 words and counting, in two months, is a great achievement for me.)
I also have had time to submit perhaps THUH BEST DRAWING I HAVE EVER DONE IN MY LIFE. Details in the submission, titled 'The King of Time'. (Its alternate title is 'This Is Not Jesus', because while I was drawing it, YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE how many people asked me if it was Jesus.)

I have been having a heck of alot of school exams lately etc etc, and have recently tried out for the Open B hockey team at school. In addition, I am working towards a bronze Duke of Edinburgh award (internationally recognised thing, etc etc), have violin on the go, and intend on publishing my novel these holidays. (Yes, I know. Again.)

SO: Those of you who would like me to read your novels, draw you a picture, write you a list, a song, wash your dog etc, forget it until at LEAST the holidays, if not the start of the next term when there's nothing on, if not somewhere in the future.

The QUT Science and Engineering Challenge!
Recently, I was priveliged to be selected out of the top 15 Science students in grade 10 to attend the QUT Science and Engineering Challenge, where schools meet up with their teams and go head to head in several activities (which have been chosen beforehand)to compete for a trophy, etc, over one day. We had four hours to complete our activities.
Our school won last year, and has had a very good record in previous years.
My team, which consisted of my friends Sma, Rushani and I, chose to do 'Mission to Mars', where we had to create a Mars buggy out of planks of wood, rubber bands, eye hooks, conduit pieces with holes in them, screws, nuts, bolts etc etc.
To cut a long story short, my friends learnt that I love rubber bands. (I think that was a realisation for me also.) When something was to be fixed, I instantly turned to a couple of screws and several (hundred) rubber bands.
Our school, overall, was coming first, by a long shot, preceeded by another Lutheran college, until the VERY LAST JUDGING SESSION.
The activity associated with this was some bridge building thing, which involved masking tape, paddle-pop sticks, textas and bits of cardboard.
Our team's bridge was the most geometrically, physically, scientifically perfect structure I've seen in my life. It was perfectly equal, flawless in every manner, created by three good (male) friends of mine, one of which insists on being perfect anyway, another who was one of the joint Duxes of our year.
Come the time to test the bridge with a little trolley weighted down, the trolley went three quarters of the way across, at speed, and then fell off, at speed.
We all stared at it. WHAT. THE. HECK.
It was perfect. They checked it for faults and then had to do it again, and the same result happened, except it fell off the other side. It was as if there was some invisible forcefield (left over from Mission to Mars?) that was causing the trolley to be derailed.
They tried, again and again and again.
Same result. The perfect bridge apparently did not work.
Perhaps a little indicator that sometimes it may be best not to be completely perfect? Maybe things only work properly if they have some sort of fault?
So we were beaten by our rival Lutheran College, by a straw.

The Somerset Literature Festival!
I was also priveliged to attend the Somerset Literature Festival for the third year in a row. I heard five authors speak about their work, was greatly inspired to write several more (thousand) words of my latest brainchild, however still have not yet found the time in which to do so.
I saw and :iconmarishka-13: and there and we bought a plate of 30 poffertjes (mini Dutch pancakes with icing sugar and topping) to share between us. We were also able to purchase books (which I didn't do) and talk to a giant red and yellow spider with an extra leg. (That was just to attract your attention again.)
(For an author, I do a shockingly little amount of reading. I get bored so easily. Maybe that's why I'm obsessed with making BTI so high-octane.)
(THAT WAS A SPOILER.)

Perhaps my intial excitement has ben caused by the fact that I have planned a (novice-ey) CATS costume to wear...?! (That doesn't necessarily mean it'll happen. I've done my research and CATS costumes are among the hardest of costumes to create. I have a backup costume of Victoria from the Twilight series).
I'll be (attempting) to cosplay Bombalurina. I've created a shopping list and a list of things that I need to make, so I'll probably need a little help from other people. (My school bestie has volunteered to do any sewing required since I am an epic failer at sewing.)

I intend to buy a full white unitard and colour it using spray paint or fabric markers.
So I was wondering does anyone here already have a plain unitard or something like it that they aren't using anymore? (To reply to this I have to know you in person).
I also intend to buy a ready-made wig off Ebay. Likewise, does anyone have a wig I could play around with?
My mum has legwarmers and I have gloves. I intend to use both, and I intend to buy an actual dog collar from my pet shop next time we buy sawdust for the guinea pigs.
As for make-up, I already have most of the colours from my recent career (?) as a volunteer children's face-paint artist at my Church functions. Since I'll only be wearing it for three to four hours, I don't see the need in making the makeup super, super super durable.

Yes, it will be nooby. Yes, it will be makeshift. Yes, it'll be half finished. Yes, it will probably look stupid. And yes, I will have FUN.

Some weird fusion of sci-fi, fantasy, action and romance. O_O if that makes sense...

I've been creating stories of some sort ever since I can remember...

The Erueldor Chronicles. Jeez. It was so long ago I don't even know if that's the right spelling.

5. As far as writing it was concerned, how long did it last?
About six months.

6. What was your inspiration?
I read the blurb on the back of 'Narnia: The Silver Chair'.

Dark And Light Auroras, duuuhhhhhh!

I was 10. And a bit.

Itsa stilla goin! Four years and counting.

8. What was your inspiration?
Basically all the stuff I had been exposed to. A strange mixture of Star Wars, Doctor Who, seeing half the first Harry Potter movie, Beatrix Potter stories, the Karensa series, Pokemon... my life. A dream I had was the trigger to it all.

9. How many books are in the series so far?
Oh my word, I get asked this question so much but I can't come up with a straight answer to it. Basically, because the series is so long, I skipped a whole lotta stuff in the middle, so I can't really say how long it is. As far as the number of books that have been written so far, I haven't actually counted, and it's somewhere around 20.

10. What's the basic plot?
Oh jeez. Now you're really asking for conciseness... Let's just say the whole thing is distantly circled around one orphan girl. She has adventures in an alternate universe. That sounds boring straight out, but there's much more to it.

11. How many subplots and themes are in your stories, on average?
Around 4 or 5. Depends on how much I want to cram into it. I sometimes have trouble with fluency if it's only one plot, so another plot helps me along and makes it more interesting for the reader.

12. How long do you expect to keep the series going for, if you are still working on it?
I sincerely have no idea. I thought I had written the final book last year, but I realised there was still an awesome sequel series I could write. So here I am. I could be doing this forever, seriously.

14. What do your parents say about your writing?
My parents? My Mum's alright with it, though she is obsessed with priority, and she thinks I myself am obsessed with writing it and this is a bad thing. (she's right in that I'm obsessed with it. It's my passion! But it's a bad thing?) My dad couldn't care less whether I was a writer or an Olympic hammer-thrower in France.

15. What do your friends say about your writing?
It's all positive. I don't think I've had anything negative from them. I love them in that respect! They're always supporting me!

16. Fan(girl)s?
Quite frankly, , and . No male fans yet, which surprises me, because being full on sci-fi and violence, you'd expect it to appeal to boys...
I guess the romance puts them off.

Dude, I have whole characters based on my friends! >D

Three years ago, when I was in grade 7, in September, for a late birthday present, my mum took me to some cavy breeders to purchase two guinea pigs. I bought a little female tricolour black rex,three months old, and a self white silky fur male, the same age. They were little babies, bought from two different breeders. They instantly took to each other and became mates. I named the female Soot and the male Sir Lancelot, or Lancey for short.
Months later we found Soot was pregnant, and had become so before we had bought her. She had a litter of four, and though they weren't Lancey's cubs, he took to them like they were his own. Two of the babies were males, and had to be sold as they would have fought with Lancey over the resident females. So we had gone from two to six, and to four.
For a very long time it was quite beautifully pleasant, four little guinea pigs, Soot, Fluff, Jet and Lancey. They were only rodents but they meant the world to me, and I used to talk to them about anything and everything. Especially Lancey. Sometimes I treated them like my own children, other times I treated them like best friends. When I had something to say to him, Lancey would simply sit there and listen, uninterrupting, and would 'say something' (or squeak) at appropriate times. He was such a lively creature, sleeping on top of his box rather than inside it, purring at all the girls to impress them, running up and down the ramps, and was continually high, crazy, lively, everywhere. It was as though he couldn't be tamed. He was a joy, if not sometimes a bundle of trouble. I bought a harness for him for Christmas, so I would be able to take him for walks around the backyard. He loved it, absolutely loved it, loved freedom and running about. He ran so fast and so strong that it was like he was walking me, rather than vise versa.
A month ago, however, he seemed a little sluggish. Three years is just under middle-aged for a guinea pig, so we didn't think much of it. He was probably just tired. However that day, I noticed an enormous scab on his back, opened but not bleeding. We were a little worried, so the next day we took him to the vet.
The vet examined it and said it was to heal up very soon. But she pointed out an even bigger problem: Lancey's teeth were being ground down at an angle, and on both top and bottom, one tooth was longer than the other. This was most certainly not normal. We told her he was sluggish and she suggested that he wasn't eating.
That was the only time I was thankful he had a scab on his back. Because if that scab hadn't been there, we wouldn't have taken him to the vet.
We wouldn't have found out, through close observation the next day, that he refused any and all food offered to him.
We took him back to the vet and soon we were feeding him a prescribed critical care hay mixture, that was made into a mushy substance, mixed with baby food and had to be forcefed into him via a syringe.
It was a tedious business, as to feed him we would have to sit him up awkwardly and inject the stuff into him. Half the time the syringe was jammed. It took an hour every meal, an hour meal twice a day.
He just got weaker, and weaker, until he was just a shell, just a floppy ragdoll-like thing that was a shadow of his former self.
We weren't sure what percentage of the stuff was being regurgitated, what percentage was left on his chin, and what percentage actually went down his throat. It was a mystery as to why he wasn't eating, however the vet suggested it could be a form of osteoporosis.
We forcefed him for three weeks, and then this Friday night just gone, Friday the 28th of February, I came home from Girls' Brigade, happy as larry from doing a photo course there. My mum had Lancey in her lap, and had started feeding him. However he was so sluggish it was almost impossible to feed him.
He seemed to be having alot of trouble breathing. I asked my mum if I could hold him. We tried some melted Vicks for him to breathe in the fumes to calm down, but his breathing was even more intense. We were getting worried.
I held him in my arms for two hours, the time just slipping past. After that, his body began to have muscular spasms. I tried to calm him down. It was like having deadly hiccups. He would sort of jolt at intervals of about a second or two, or half a second, unevenly. We sat in a circle and prayed for our dearest Lancelot, committing him into God's hands.
Half an hour later, more muscle spasms later, in my arms, he suddenly convulsed, moving his head from side to side like a snake, stretched his legs out and opened his mouth wide, as if he was yawning. Smartest character: Bygon. But if you want a mortal character, it's a tie between Timeo and Den-War, of whom I've yet to work out the IQs of.

Fittest character (apart from Bygon): Constance Flandergand, with the ability to sprint nonstop for 2 hours.

Character with the most dialogue overall: Bec 'Timeo' Flandergand. I have no idea how many lines she has.

Character with the most dialogue in one story: Devereaux Pame in 'Names', whose dialogue comprised 9 percent of the overall word count.

Character with the least dialogue overall: 'Small Fluffy Green Thing' in Into Infinity: Revenge of the Dreptoleks. Its line consisted of: "Mreep!"

Character with the Highest Number of Flirty Remarks overall: Devereaux Pame. (yes, I did just insert that one just to mention Devereaux again.)

I can also immitate Donkey from Shrek really well, according to my school friends, but I'm not sure about that. I can whistle... but that's not really unusual...

Back to Infinity is a sub-series, if you like, of my larger series Dark And Light Auroras, after Into Infinity, which in turn is after The Legends of Dark And Light Auroras.
BTI picks up where Into Infinity left off, and follows the adventures of Den-War Castellus, Bec 'Timeo' Flandergand, Susanna O'Connor and Devereaux Pame, who travel in a sort of time-machine that doubles as where they live, called the STARDOT. (Space, Time And Random Directions of Travel.) (They are often collectively called the STARDOT Crew.)The STARDOT is a human invention, created in the 81st century, by revolutionary scientist. He made several prototypes, but after Timeo’s original, working time machine was destroyed by a squad of hostile aliens, she ‘borrowed’ the STARDOT from the scientist, promising she’d give it back some day. (Which she has yet to prove.)
They meet other friends who they pick up sometimes, and who end up leaving the STARDOT Crew due to family reasons, age, or other reasons. Some of these, to date, include Spider, Jedd Drake, Gemma Andreasta, Peter Kestrel, and BOLT (an oversized robotic gryphon).
Basically, all you need to know about the relationships is that Timeo and Den-War have a romantic relationship, as do Devereaux and Susanna. Susanna is Timeo’s best friend. Den-War and Devereaux used to be rivals, but the tension has gradually subsided in them.

The following information isn’t necessary for you to read, unless you’d like more of an explanation.

MORE DETAIL- A BIT O’ HISTORY
Timeo, Susanna and Den-War’s adventures in the now nonexistent universe called the Otherworld, where it all started, are all documented in The Legends of Dark And Light Auroras.
Also, their original adventures in the STARDOT, along with a swag of new friends, is found in Into Infinity.
(As this is an explanation of BTI, and BTI only, I won’t go into detail about those series.)
Timeo and Den-War were both Time Agents, people, in the Otherworld, who were specifically hired and trained to put right temporal schisms and faults, to work in Time rather than Space, where other could not work. Initially humans were not allowed to become Time Agents, but for an unknown reason. Hence as few humans were hired as possible. (Though the number seems to grow with every adventure.)
Den-War and Timeo had been best friends when they were children, but were separated, and upon meeting again, their feelings for each other were suddenly different. However their relationship got off to a bumpy start due to rules stating that Time Agents were not allowed to have romantic relationships. Again, the reason was unknown, nevertheless the rule stood. But Timeo and Den-War were determined to keep their relationship, in secret.
Susanna appeared on the scene at a very early stage, nearly as early as Den-War, but basically has been Timeo’s best friend ever since. She fought alongside her, and for a while they were an unstoppable duo.
Compared with other characters, Susanna is a character who has changed the least.
Flirtatious Devereaux appeared much later than the other three, in Into Infinity, after he was abducted by the Pryythiakk, a race of aliens in a gridlock war against a rival species. He couldn’t resist the idea of travelling through Time and Space and joined Timeo and Susanna near the end of Into Infinity, before Timeo and Den-War met again. Though he and Susanna did not have a prominent relationship, Susanna did seem to have a slight crush on him, and he seemed especially amused at this.
Later on, Timeo and Den-War were found out, and Den-War was detained, never to see Timeo again. Timeo, crushed, exiled herself to Earth, and that’s where Into Infinity left off.



EVEN MORE DETAIL- A BIT MORE HISTORY
Once there was a universe called the Otherworld, and Bec and Den-War stumbled into it when they were just 11. However, they were separated, and while Bec helped fight a war between the Rebels and the King of the planet Glofry, Den-War was sent to a planet called Koldgloa, where he fought a similar war but for different reasons.
Though Bec returned to Earth, Den-War did not, and in frustration, Bec tried to go back to the Otherworld to find him.
Throughout the whole series of The Legends of Dark And Light Auroras, Bec is continually returning to Glofry, in the Otherworld, in search of her lost best friend, but ends up being side-tracked in wars and battles and risking her life. She never sees Den-War again.
Susanna enters the scene early on, and quickly becomes Timeo’s best friend, and ends up fighting much the same wars and suchlike as she does, along with two other friends- Greg Johnstone and Kyra Ferdinand.

-When she sings about Macavity, Bombalurina's right arm changes colour in certain frames, from orangey-red to white. It also does this throghout other songs.

-Asparagus is making faces during Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats.

-In the Jellicle Ball, Quaxo notices one of his paws have become black, meaning that he is about to transform into Mistoffelees (fans are no doubt aware that the magical Mister Mistoffelees is in fact Quaxo's alter ego) and Skimbleshanks points this out to him.

-There is a cat that only appears in The Naming of Cats, called Exotica, supposedly Cassandra's sister (Naturally she also appears in the ending credits)

-In the Jellicle Ball, Bombalurina mates with Pouncival. (Either that or it's Tumblebrutus- it's quite hard to see and you can only see it for a couple of seconds)

-Rum Tum Tugger's mane is in fact an attachment to a black vest.

-Tugger changes belts in the Jellicle Ball.

-Tugger changes wigs after Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats (The fact that he doesn't have his mane in this song is old news).

-Mungojerrie doesn't wear his shirt until his song, and neither does Rumpelteazer. Also, have you noticed the other additions to their costumes during their song?

-This isn't a very good one, ie it's a bit obvious and others probably have noticed it also, but Old Deutoronomy undergoes a costume change after Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats.

-Rum Tum Tugger isn't actually in the mating dance. Which is strange, considering his temperament.

-Jennyanydots only wears that ridiculous costume in her song. After that, she appears as a normal cat.

-Watch Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats, the bit where they all sing "The mystical divinity..." Who the hell is that cat in the top left hand corner in the back row? It looks like the Rumpus Cat. I'm not sure.

-Young Grizabella appears in Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats and the Naming of Cats.

-Munkustrap's face can't be seen in most of the Naming of Cats because Bombalurina's hair is blocking him out.

-Jennyanydots has circular ears.

-Victoria is sometimes not wearing her gloves.

-Tugger's face make up changes before his song.

-When Tugger is impressing the kittens with his hip swivelling, pelvic thrusting etc, Plato, Tumblebrutus and Pouncival are also 'impressed'. Interesting...

-Bombalurina is wearing nail polish.

-Did you see Skimble running around with the giant top hat in Bustopher Jones?

-Bustopher Jones' ruffles have fish bone print on them.

-Electra only has a warmer on one arm.

nerd noun Colloquial
a person who has an awkward personality and dresses in a conservative way; a person who is not 'cool' (definition 3)
Below this, it states that the word probably originated from Dr Seuss's book If I ran the Zoo (1950).

Now, usually when the common school student talks about a nerd, or calls someone a nerd, they mean someone who continually does schoolwork, continually is 'erfect in class', someone whom the teacher looks to for an example (but not to be confused with Teachers' Pet)and/or someone who is always getting very good marks.
Compare this with the dictionary meaning. It occurs to me, that when someone has been called a nerd, usually, they have been 'falsely accused'.

Don't get me wrong; being a 'nerd' is not all a bad thing. I have heard a saying time and time before: "Don't make fun of the nerds, someday they'll be your bosses".
Ah yes. I like this saying, however it hardly contains any canon in my life as I am/will be an author. (Hrm... will my agent be at my beck and call...? Does that count...?)

So I have formulated several different definitions of the word. These definitions have come into practice in my friendship group.

Nerd kind A: Does all schoolwork, designates all time to study etc. Study is top priority. Nothing is more important than school work. Gets top marks to go with amounts of study.
Nerd kind B: Does not do homework; sees no point in homework due to mere pointlessness and/or current intelligence. Outside of school activities such as instruments, other research, writing etc have priority. School is sometimes boring as no one can speak on the same intelligence terms as them. And yet gets good marks.
Nerd kind C: Thinks is incredibly smart. Does not do homework, does not listen in class, expects to get good marks but doesn't. Is actually stupid, but thinks s/he is smart.
Nerd kind D: Does do work, all the time, always participating in class, always trying very very hard to do well in class, is the underdog version of Nerd A as they don't actually get very good marks even though they study hard.

Being part of the 'B' category, I HATE MATHS TO DEATH; it seems so pointless and silly to study Trigonometry when one is an author and is only subject to writing about Trigonometry in some complicated plot (as I am generally a science fiction person, who tends to also drift off into the romance category as well).
Well, there you go. Let's write a romance novel and incorporate Trigonometry into it.
Hrm...

That's actually provided a good plot about some nerd who falls in love...

No, don't worry. See, this is what I do, get plots from all over the place. I am extremely proud of my status as Nerd. Besides, it is very much possibly to be a Nerd and socialise with everyone in your grade as well. I am very good friends with almost everyone in my class, save one or two people, and that's not because I dislike them in any way, it's just because I haven't had a chance to talk to them.
Nerds can actually be very deep and emotional people; I know because, as mentioned above, I am one. They can be interesting people, who are just as sick of the world as you are, who are just as happy about the world as you are. They have emotions too.

Oh, and just to clear up stereotypes that I'm sick of:
1. Nerds do not always like to listen to 'classical' music.
2. Nerds do not always wear glasses.
3. Nerds do not always snort while laughing.
4. Nerds do not always have freckles (although I do have many freckles)
5. Nerds do not always do ther homework.
6. They aren't always angels in class
7. They don't have perfect lives.
8. They don't always (they may sometimes, I don't know) have crushes on the class hottie. (If there is one)
9. They don't always keep to themselves all the time- they ARE capable of socialising with the 'opular' group (I'm lucky to be in a class where there IS no 'opular' group)
10. They are not always ugly.

So please, I say once and once again, don't dis the nerds- someday they'll be your leaders, and be authorised to dis you! lol

Pencils.
I am surrounded by pencils, I swear. You see, the strange thing about my house is that there are pencils and pens and writing implements filling little less than every space in my house, and yet they always seem to evade me at the most inconvenient moments, like when you have a rat infestation, and yet when you try and catch just one of thousands, it jumps out of your reach.
(Not that I have had any experience in rat infestations, I can assure you. Nor do I wish to. Although, rats seem to be very intelligent, lovely, fluffy creatures, and since they are cousins of my lovely guinea pigs, I suppose I should be remotely friendly with them.) (Sewer rats seem to have always fascinated me.)
And yet, due to some reason, to which I have no answer and reason for reason, there never seems to be a decent pencil in my pencil case.
Let's go over that sentence. Notice how I've used 'encil' and 'encilcase' in the same sentence.
Let's examine 'encilcase'. It seems the very purpose of this word is to describe any sort of container, or case, that holds pencils.
And yet, my pencilcase is filled to the brim with bloody black pens and biros and stuff I use to write in class. (Not the black pens. I use them to ink.)
When I reach into the pencilcase, to take out a PENCIL, hence the name PENCILCASE, I find there are NO PENCILS in the PENCILCASE.
This is the equivalent of buying a small white container from Woolworths, which states clearly in that sterile blue writing that DENTAL FLOSS in contained therein. And you open the case. Lo and behold there is NO DENTAL FLOSS. Instead, TOOTHPASTE flows out of it like puss from a pusstule.
This is such confusion that is replicated in me when I fail to understand why the PENCILCASE has absolutely and utterly NO PENCILS in it. ANYTHING BUT my precious pencils.
And no matter how many attempts I make to buy new pencils and stuff them into my pencilcase, locking them up like those prisoners of Alcatraz, or something of the like, pencils always FAIL to be located in the pencilcase.
Pencils are EVERYWHERE BUT where you need them. Oh yes. I'll find them in my room, on my desk, on the piano, in my violin case (and this is the pencil that ACTUALLY IS where it should be of use, and I never use it), next to the unfinished book, in the BATHROOM for Heaven's sake, but heaven forbid NOT IN THE PENCILCASE.

Which I've only tried out this year; in my original story manuscripts there is not one SKERICK of romance aside from a small BygonxGali scene which lasts about half a line of handwritten text.
Essentially, I would LIKE to write some action stuff and some really awesome, typical, good ol' fashioned DALA with some good ol' fahsioned sword fights, some good ol' fashioned Auroras (since they got abolished with the Last War) and some good ol' fashioned Xova, Varxor, blah, la di dah di dah.

MOAR ACTION IN BTI?
Back To Infinity is turning into a seperate series on its own, focussing mainly on the developing relationships between Den-War and Timeo, and Devereaux and Susanna. Great. But I'm wondering, to the scarce fans I have, (by scarce I mean 2 or 3), should I put more action in it? BTI is becoming quite domestic; with every story I seem to be giving more of an insight to their daily lives rather than the adventure aspect of it.
