Arch Enemy Live in Manila!!!

^{The thought of the band was here in the country for a concert is still trying to sink in my mind. I still can't believe that Arch Enemy would make it to the other side of the world and give it a try for a third world country such as the Philippines.

It was indeed true that they were outrageous in performance. Everything from set up, guitar and drums solos were crystal clear. Amott brothers are highly talented musicians. So much skills and melody. Angela is such a goddess, definitely gorgeous in person. Her voice.. an ultimate touch of agression and heaviness. The band's were just awesome and met my expectations.

So I'm presenting concert photos:

Every Filipino stayed strong for this challenge in life.

Its time to get up and move-on. We know we cant depend on the everyday relief goods you've been getting.

I hope no more typhoon is coming, I think we had enough.

42 years until now, people of Manila has been devastated with the typhoon that just recently passed the country. About 100 people died and tons of people were reported missing.

Two days has passed, but there are still some who has not been rescued.

Please pray for those who are still out there who needs help.}

The title says it right. Last 3 days made me feel motivated and confident for a good shoot outdoor, I was thinking nature. I thought its gonna be a sunny day on Thursdat, but... it wasnt. I got a gloomy day instead. Good thing there's always a place to shoot indoor called, studio. Well, its not really a studio, we call it a mini-studio or transformer studio. It's because its a pad of Cris but transforms into a studio when lights has already been setup. I gather two of my lovely friends, Sam and Gretel for some glamour shots. Which I will be posting when I'm done editing.

Here are some before and after the formal shoot.

Hooray for my new baby toy!
I got my D90 kit last wednesday but I decided to post just now.
I got the kit, instead of Sigma 17-70mm. I really wanted the lens but there was some issues I have encountered. I'll get the lens as soon as pay the balance with a sweet 50mm f1.8, prime lens which is way more affordable. Goodluck to me on that.

It was a day but since I want it badly, off we went to Hidalgo. Very fresh body and damn, hot 3' LCD Liveview was awesome too. It was a good thing I previously used a Nikon cuz the Menus and buttons are easy to find. But I do see a large additions to the Menus, far more different but I know where to look so far. I'm very happy with it right now. Invite me for a shoot eh?

Since I just got my D90, features will be photos taken with a Nikon D90 camera.

My Nikon D40x is gone. Sold to a friend's friend. On the brighter side, I knew who's taking care of my Velkan. And soon, I will have a new Velkan, hopefully its a D90. I am eyeing for the Sigma 17-70mm Macro because it seems like a good lens to me for portraits, landscape and almost macro purpose. Hope to get it before August 15. I have read lots of pages on its reviews and I think I'm satisfied and made my decision. I can't wait.

UP Fair-Tuesday was a blast.
A friend of ours, Jen invited us for backstage pass.
Huge crowd at the Sunken.
Up-front artists with a live crowd.

I'm starting to feel like quit taking shots on concerts, my lens wont do any good.
I wish I could get at least F2.8 for concert photography, that I will enjoy photos I'd take, not like this.

Also, I realized I dont listen to the radio, cuz I need to wait for the host to say the bands name before I knew It was them. New artists comes in good or bad. Ipod is better though. Miguel Chavez is a sucker of attention, before Chicosci could finish their 3rd song, Urbandub was the next on the line up. People saw Gabi on stage with the guitar and they like "Urbandub! Urbandub!" Then Miguel Chavez hit on their ever famous old album song "Sink or swim" to draw back the crowd's attention to them. And why the hell is this guy bringing a PA on stage? He has to get the PA hold the bottled water for him and last year's act was the PA gets to catch his sweater when he threw it out.tru

Urbandub - truly darling of the crowd. We heart you.

Intolerant, you're a total kick-ass.

Greyhoundz, I wish Reg was a little stable on stage. So Id catch a pretty awesome performance.

Planned Getaway

BUT, the good news is Summer's coming and I'm going to the beach, yeeeha!
Actually been to Puerlo Galera the last weekend but this one is big.
My friends/officemates are heading Coron, Palawan.
The place is awesome. Beach + water = Heaven.

Most Expensive day my boyfriend and I spent for food. But we enjoyed every single amount of it, and were both satisfied, taken from a crappy low res iphone cam

New Skirt

Found an uber nice skirt from surf world, original price is P3350, I got it for 500!!! I bet no ones buying Size 14, so i feel like its meant for me

iPhone Sucks

Just came in, while I was fixing the CSS, I tried restoring my phone using itunes cuz it wont sync. Did a reset but didnt work. After the download, iphone rebooted itself and now, all I can see is a keypad to make an emergency call. I think I need this repaired. I hate this.

^{I got sick on my last getaway, maybe I had too much of the sun.
Although I managed to got with my friends on an island hopping, I still got sick when evening came.
But, we absolutely had fun in the beach, Caramoan Peninsula has enormous mountains of rocks. Lovely white sand on the beach and also the fishes were all over the place. I jumped into the water like crazy, as if I didnt get ill the other night. The place was awesome. Gets rid of your illness. yay!

^{I've been gone and this time I went to the famous beach of Boracay.
So, I found out the the news is true, it was a paradise, with the most beautiful sand Ive seen, white and firm.

My family and I stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights. The experience was competely awesome and I've got sunburns. yay!

^{What's going on:

1. I'm thinking not to waste my subscription so I decided to update my journal weekly. Yeeeee! Things has been going smoothly. And I hope it'll stay that way.

2. Yes, Its summer and its friggin hot here. We're planning for a team outing this coming April so I am expecting to see a smokin' island. Hoping to get as many picture as I want.

3. I wanted to look for a new job with a higher pay, but right now there has been a proposed raise. We'll see in a week but if theres no development on these.. uggh.

4. I have a lot of ideas coming up but I hate this notebook I'm using, I feel like Windows Vista is eating up my RAM. Its a new notebook, damn it. I'm working on my new manip right now and I can't finish it any faster. A friend of mine suggests to add up RAM 3G to be more comfortable. Or... give this back to my dad and downgrade to XP Home. But another-not-so-nice-thing is XP is more expensive than Vista. [like ?]. Great! How did that happen?!

Anyway...

Yesterday, was March 15, and it was one of the most awaited day of the day. Shadows Fall Live in Manila. yeah.

But before that It was March12, Jay [my boyfriend] and I was quite desperate to watch the concert but our pockets are empty. Jay happened to peek through FHM and saw a banner flashing a Shadows Fall contest. All he did is sent FHM Philippines the address of the event and added a desperate feel on the e-mail. Then I told him, its gonna be impossible but wished his entry would be chosen.
Then while we were chatting after a day or two. Jay was cussing on MSN and I couldnt understand why. He gave me
the link and opened his yahoo mail. There was it, a congratulations e-mail for the complimentary tickets. Lucky bastart, yes. Tickets sold are 1200 and 600. The free once we got was the 600. We contacted PULP owner Vernon Go and able to verify that we can upgrade the tickets to 1200. Just like we got the other ticket for free.

Carlo and Tere went by the house to pick us up, rode a cab to A-venue and there... the expected crowd all piled up in line. I feel sorry for myself though when I saw Darcke with his Nikon D40 baby , I only have a point n shoot camera to cover the event. We met a few friends in the crowd. As soon as we entered the premise I had Jay talk to the people working on the tickets and tried to negotiate on the upgrade. They said NO, hell. They were saying about the control number blah. blah. blah. I had Carlo go back and pushed through, good thing there was a manager who values money and upgraded the tickets.

The venue was cool, I meant it literally as well. The size for me just fits, huge venues can be so scary. Kiddos might find out and try to gate crash. Although there a muddy sounds up front, it was real good when you're quite far from the huge speakers.

A Redhorse band, first performed. Followed by Valley of Chrome, you got it loud and kicking on pedals. Intolerant -- I fucking want those CDs. SIN who played amazing Math Metal [thanks Carlo], drums are very distinctive but I dont remember Meshuggah sounding like drums are off beat. Maybe I did, but it was a very long time ago since I heard Meshuggah CD.

Shadows Fall started playing like 10:45Pm and finished almost 12AM. People went all crazy singing with gorgeous Brian Fair. The moshpit was quite tempting for me, but I was a coward when I see those Americans slammin. Booo. It was a killer and I do hope there would be a lot of Metal bands will be playing soon in the Philippines. I just hope it would be on a different gig like this one @ A-venue. I cant stand them being lined-up in Summer Slam.

I came to visit Bicol to check out my family after the typhoon, Reming. It feels creepy as soon as you get into Camarines Norte, there's no light, people walks on dark streets, with the cold breeze of air.

As the usual bus stop over, Robertos located in Naga City. I arrived there for about 3:30am and I've noticed that all electrical posts have been destroyed. You can see them lying useless... even in the dark. I didn't even realized the windows were broken until my father told me when he called on my phone. Aircon was busted too.

As the sun rises in the morning and the road near home gets visible, I've felt my heart as it falls on the bus' floor. Houses were ruined... badly. Trees were no longer whole. One place that striked me most is one barangay with their houses sliced in halves beside the river. People said many have died there and the bodies were washed away from the river and were found in far places.

Thank God for taking care of my family.

got a cam

I finally got a digicam, I cant afford to but an EOS Series so all I can get is a Canon Ixus 65. I am not a photographer but I wanted to try taking photos on every subject Im interested.

Anyway, I got the cam for only 14K. Guess where? Quiapo. Lol. Yep. Its 24K in the market. Its brand new with a manual and a one year warranty. Plus a 1G mem card with a two-year-warranty. Im happy? Very happy. haha. Its got a 3inch LCD, 6M and a Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery, well I dont know anything about cameras and those were the specs Ive looked into. So far, I think its a good buy eh? I hope so.

Well, this is my first journal entry. I know you wont be reading this that's why I decided to put one. haha!

I've been planning to buy a new camera. Hopefully before the year ends or by January. I think canon EOS 20D or Canon eos 400D are great cams but I dont think I can afford one. Damn its expensive. I hope to get as many reviews as I can read so I can get a good one with an "OK" feature and a reasonable price.

I got my eyes checked yesterday and good thing the doctor did not recommend glasses. Just a Maxidez eyedrops. Four times a day til consumed. I cant imagine myself wearing glasses on. Id look like a damn oxymoron emo kid. :)" title=">:) (Devil)" />
