It caught me again - that session-induced numbness of mine. I could lie around and slack the whole day long... Literally. I don't even feel such a great urge to draw or read anything (which, on the other hand seems to be a fine deal, since at least I'm not going into my crazed-artist-with-drawing-ban mode)...

Which doesn't mean I don't have any ideas. Those sneaky devils keep on popping out of my head whether I want it or not. Apparently sensing the tension however, they're not as malicious as per usual - good thing as well, I suppose.

I've seen the whole Baccano! in the meantime (many thanks to =tsukishoujo for getting me hooked on it) and I'm very happy I did, since the series is certainly the best I've seen in past two years or so. I'm pleased with it to the point of actually having a fanart idea - and that's saying something.

As for my Holiday plans, if everything at the uni works out fine, I'll be dividing my time between learning, writing Ex Machina and maybe... Doing some requests/comissions/pro illustrating? I still have to think over the first two options (I know a sketch request would be popular - it always is - but I can't really say whether anybody is willing to pay for my drawings), whereas the last one depends solely on my skill in finding announcements (or lack thereof). Time will tell.

Plus, there is still a question of doing a manga for Otaku's fall/winter anthology. Since they're already publishing one (awesome) angel-including series, I doubt I stand a chance... But I'm quite happy with the idea anyway, so it might just end up as a series of four-and-more-comas stored in my gallery.

Aaand... That's it, I guess.

So, I just wasn't in the mood for writing here. Sorry.

I had great time visiting Berlin and Potsdam - I simply can't describe how much I love those. The only sad thing was, Sanssouci isn't quite representable this time of the year - but that didn't really matter to me; I was just glad to be able to visit.

Easter time is drawing near and I really wish I were at Home already. But things aren't that bad: been to MagnifiCON today, along with ~ilitenir, bought me some nice Hetalia and Moomin badges and ~hitohai's Strange Matter...

Yeah, you heard me.

The mid-terms drag behind me, bugging and screeching... And I couldn't care less, really. I'm in a mood for lots of slacking, prefferably curled up on the couch with hot chocolate and a nice, easy-reading lecture.
My Japanese Grammar notes don't fall under that category. Neither do kanji.

Recently, the overall mood is quite mellow, with people around falling/un-falling in love (or it's respectful equivalents) and me having subdued mood swings, but mostly being passive about the affairs of the world. The last energizing buzz was my participation in The Hetalia Hug Project - posting my contribution after the exams - but other than that, nothing significant happened.

Future plans: since I had my reservation for MAGNIFIcon confirmed, I'd probably be preparing myself for cosplay OR designing badges... Or both. I'm still a little skeptical about the latter - I can't afford having the badges done and hope for people to buy it; and as I'm still a little known artist, not many people would even know I'm doing some - even if they're from a popular series (Hetalia)... We'll see.

It is official: Mondays beat the hell out of me. Today especially, since I promised ~ilitenir to wake up at the same time to keep her company - she immensly dislikes getting up early, so I try to wake up the same as her, friend's support and all that.

Besides, I'm the one to switch the boiler since she's too lazy.

Ok, stingy remarks aside (my life is already quite hellish due to my 'speak before you think' habit); I'm really very sorry I get more and more sluggish with completing your requests or even responding to comments. This year of studies is pretty tough and besides I still keep trying to catch up with the rest of my year - which leads to occasional bouts of depression/frustration.

But apart from that, it's peachy. I've been writing a bit of APH fanfiction anonymously at Hetalia Kink Meme - I have my eye on some of the requests - mainly the more imaginative and with sex as just an option . I also failed to resist the temptation of buying Coldplay's Prospekt's March; these guys are simply too awesome to deny oneself the listening pleasure. And, last but not least, in my free time I design characters and plots for my new projects: Ex Machina and Deus sp.z o.o....

... I know they look ridiculous written one after another but please, bear with me.

Anyway, Ex Machina is a kind of steam-punk story, but focused rather on characters and their relationships, needs and wishes - and prices they have to pay to reach their goals. I can't tell how long it is for now, since all I have at the moment are bits of text stewn across my many notebooks... And character designs (I took to drawing such things after writing Nighthawks*). Deus... I've planned to make in a much lighter tone - as a series of yonkomas about Angels having their own PR office down here - and doing lots of stupid things since encouraging people to view Heaven in a positive and slightly more modern way is not really that time-consuming. I've scheduled both projects for Summer break, but if something pops into my head I write it down on the spot, just in case.

If you're interested, other scheduled stuff is: finishing requests and catching up with 3IB (I really feel sorry for that piece of the Web) during Christmas break; and, hopefully, drawing and publishing a Saiyuki doujinshi in Winter break - I look foreward to it since I'm very happy with the scenario.

There is also some hope in my heart when it comes to publishing some of my fiction; if I manage to complete Ex Machina till... Let's say 20th August... Then add a quasi-ending to Nighthawks and write down Goodbye, Blue Sky... then maybe, maybe I'll try to send those three to an editor.

Ah, the joys of wishful thinking.

ひさしぶりだー! 私はもう二年生になったヨー!

Yup, I've finally got my promotion (is it still called that on studies?) and can be proudly called a second-year - how cool is that~?
The best part of the whole thing is - due to some odd coincidents, for the last 2 weeks I barely visited my gakka. It's either the teacher calling ill, or being busy with the other job, or finally half of the staff going to Warsaw for the conference. Surprisingly, my favourite subjects (Modern Japanese Literature and East-Asian Civilisations) haven't been canceled even once. I love the world~

Recent bugs? Hetalia. Lots of it. And the fact I'm learning about Japan in World Wars is not helping. Other than that - pesto. Tons of pesto. And it's not even Hetalia-connected; I just love the taste ~♥

I've updated the journal sections; if you visit Other Projects I guess some of you will be happy to learn 3IB is slowy back on track. Also, after finishing Nighthawks (I might submit the untranslated version if you wish), I've began works on a new fiction piece, Ex Machina. So far, I'm quite happy how the whole thing's turning out. Prepare for some rushed character sketches as soon as I finish and post all the old requests.

As the title says, I'm going to sulk just a little in here. Don't like - don't read.

Lately I feel my art level isn't progressing at all. No, it's not bad and no, I'm not going all 'omehgawdmyartiscrapletsburneeet'... It's just... It feels like I'm not able to express my visions on paper fully. Once I finish something, it doesn't feel right anymore.
My good friend told me I lack my old lust for life (didn't have much of it for starters, but still a decent amount) - that might be the problem; finding a solution, however is beyond me.
Also, (all my watchers, please, forgive me this one), I feel underappreciated here on DA. Ok, so I have less art here than I had on my old account, but - that's what I thought, at least - it's of much better quality so it should be equally, if not more, favorable.

Over half a year here proved me otherwise.

Maybe I ask for too much. Maybe I'm too secluded for my skill to be noticed. Maybe... There is no skill to begin with. Dunno.

Well, that's that. And don't you dare pity me.

1. So, who are you, anyway?

Just your average tea-drinking, yaoi-loving Japanology student; some of you might know me as ~martini6583 - I've changed galleries quite recently.

2. Oh. And why did you do that?

Various reasons. First of all, my previous gallery was a total mess - pictures and poems and stories and whatnot clogged together, you know what I mean? Secondly, I didn't like the fact my most favoured deviation was something doodled on a boring lesson in five minutes - pretty discouraging; and besides... I didn't feel like cleaning up the whole thing and pics which I didn't like anymore.

4. Anyway, since now you have a nice and shiny gallery, what are you up to?

The usual - draw, doodle, cosplay and the like. Maybe photos from time to time, but no texts (I recently write in my native language only, and don't have the time to translate).

5. Pretty decent. But what's in it for me? Do you do any giftart/commissions/art trades/kiribans?

That depends; giftarts are friends-only (don't get me wrong; only my most dedicated friends have the patience to wait for me to FINISH them ). I'll probably be opened for commissions during my summer break, but no promises; I'm fine with art trades - when I have time that is . 6. Ok, supposing you have time, what would you agree to draw?

I feel best with drawing things I know and draw frequently (books, manga, movies, etc), but I can try something new if I get enough info/reference pic; I can also draw your own characters, on the same terms. I have no problems with mild yaoi/yuri/incest/shota/tentacles or whatever is on your perverted mind. Just don't get carried away too much and I'll be fine. From my works you should know my limitations considering art style, working technique and anatomical correctness.

7. Niice... Is there something you won't draw?

Things that are generally considered vulgar or abusive - I have some decency left, thanks - as well as things I consider irrational or plain stupid. Unimaginative OCs of the Mary Sue sort also don't stand a chance.

8. Do you make tutorials?

Ehh..? Thanks for your faith in my skills, but alas, no. I'm too much of a n00b .

9. You know, not everyone likes yaoi...

I'm aware. If you don't like it, don't watch it - as simple as this.

10. About watching... Can I?

Of course. But if you do, please comment on my works from time to time, ok? I'd be glad.
