there are no words to explain the irreversable damage that the movie "Inkheart" has done to my faith in hollywood and in the movie industry in general.

a little background:
inkheart is my favorite book SERIES. i emphasise the word SERIES because one of the major flaws of this pile of shit is that it WRAPS UP THE FREAKING MOVIE TO THE POINT WHERE A SEQUEL IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE. (please excuse the use of CAPS-LOCK in the previous sentance. i hate it as much as anyone else, but only CAPS-LOCK can express the intense hatred i feel right now.) As of right now, i am reading the third installation and am thouroughly enjoying it. it is fill with exactly the right amount of fantasy adventure, gritty violence, and plot twists to hold my attention from cover to cover until i realise that it is 3 am and i have been reading for two days straight without food. *exaggeration, but you get the point*

here's where it hits the fan-

YOU CASTED BRENDAN FRAISER YOU DUMBASSES!!!
what movie has he been in that was genuinely good or better because of his acting?? i'll tell you: NONE, ZERO, ZIP! and dont give me any of that mummy shit because he sucked asshole in that too! which brings up another interesting point: why? why do you hire these big shot hollywood jackoffs when you could give other aspiring actors a chance?? everyone knows brendan fraiser sucks so cast someone who actually has some talent!!!

FOLLOW THE DAMN BOOK!
is it that hard for you to keep with the book? you dont even need a freaking script, its right in front of you!!! i brought my friend to this travesty with me. he has never read any of the books, but knew that i was an avid fan, so while watching the movie he had this to say to me, "hey, whats in that pouch?""can Farid actually learn dustfinger's fire stuff""why didn't that guy dissapear".
i ignored his questions because i figured that it would be explained later in the film. it wasn't, go figure. since i had actually read the books i figured i had the upper hand since i knew somewhat the events that were supposed to be taking place. i was very, very wrong. WHY WOULD YOU HINT DETAILS OF THE SECOND BOOK WHEN YOU CUT THE MOVIE SHORT AT THE END OF THE FIRST BOOK? it doesnt make sense! "im going to make a character based on you, a theif who steals just as a bluejay steals shiny objects."...
what does that even matter?! the bluejay shit isnt even relevent until Inkspell!!! Inkspell as in, the movie that wont be appearing because they completely slit its throat with the weapon that is the camera.
what is the point of even having the origional book... or title for that matter? i have an idea for a new title:

"Brendan Fraiser is a Douche... with some Inkheart in it." and maybe, "Nah, we lied. there is no Inkheart in this movie, sorry." in pretty little subtext nearby.

IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FOLLOW THE BOOK, AT LEAST MAKE IT EXCITING!
the inkheart movie was drab and dull, an unfortunate casualty to the madness of movie-making. hmm... "movie-making", eh? they should just call it, "book-dicking". lets take a look at some of the previous "movie-books".
-Harry Potter
-The Lord of the Rings
-Twilight
now ask yourself these questions:
Q: Did you like the movie?
A: "no"
Q: Why didn't you like the movie?
A: "it didn't follow the book"
Q: Would people who haven't read the book like it?
A: "yea, i guess..."

why do you suppose that is? because although it didnt follow the origional storyline the movie still had two key features that Inkheart severely lacked. 1) it didn't follow the book, but still had a descent storyline. 2) it had amazing filmography seamlessly merged with computerized special effects.
my friend, who was unfortunaly my movie buddy tonight, was shocked at the lack of... anything. no story, no visuals... well, i shouldnt say that, Inkheart did have a few good looking scenes. BUT THEY DIDN'T USE WHAT THEY HAD. this story is amazing. there were so many points in the book that could've been really, REALLY good in a visual sense.
but they botched it, what can you say...

im starting to run out of steam here. all i have left to say is this:

i am very dissapointed. i hate (eh...dislike his acting. i mean, i've never even met the guy you know.) Brendan Fraiser, i hate whoever directed this film, and i wish there were things that could be unseen... because this would be one of those things... it could've worked man, it could've worked.

one last thing:
i apologise for all of the swearing involved in this journal, however it is the only way to properly express my feelings toward this abomination.

its just so cold that it overtakes everything.

to put in perspective, wednesday night sat between -20 F and -30 F, and this weekend is supposed to hit -40F in some places.

every day... every day me, faria, and two others have been playing it on the same couch, in the same room. we average between 10 and 13 hours a day

well, its been a while hasn't it? a lot of things have happened since i've been on last...
college: ah! finally, out of high school and on to bigger and better things! but DAMN is it expensive. i actually just paid $5544.25 a couple of days ago, which is really a bummer, cause that's pretty much everything that i had saved this summer. not only that, but i also registered late for my dorm, sooooooo... im on a friggen' waiting list for a room. which means, guess where i get to stay for the first couple of weeks? that's right! the damn study lounge!
there are some good things happening now though. for example, GHS sent me a 400$ check in the mail! ^^ FINALLY! retribution for all of the wasted years in that d... i mean, eduacational facility.
and hey! im back on DA again! it's a miracle ^^
i actually do have a legitimate reason for being gone so long though. the resteraunt that i worked at was severely shorthanded, and often times i found myself at the mercy of split shifts, 13 hour workdays and no days off... whew! at least the money was good though.
anyhow, that'll be enough for today! count on me being on waaaaay more often and look foreward to some new deviations (hopefully ^^)

ya, my whole family and my best friend are on vacation right now. the philippines is my homeland, so it feels good to be back, but it's so hot!!!! i mean IT IS FREAKIN HOT. not only that, but its extremely humid. it's very beautiful though and we're all having a good time.

well i gotta say, i am LOVING this new collections option! if you haven't seen it yet, it is up next to the shop and chat options above the search bar. it doesnt have many collections yet, but i have a feeling that it's gonna get huuuuuuge~ its very convenient for individuals such as myself who type something in the search bar and find exactly the opposite of what you wanted. (maybe im just too vague with that stupid thing.

well, ive got three drawings that are ready to go on, but im waiting on a certain procrastinating friend (*cough cough otaku-kyo cough*). of course i have no room to talk, but it's just to let you know that they are on the way.

well hey there everyone! christmas and New Year's have come and gone and as i waited in the nearly meaningless space between holidays i got busy with some deviations. i've got two done except for the backgrounds, and one lineart that needs to be colored. so, expect about three or four to come at ya here in a bit.

now that the business is out of the way, lets get to some friendly stuff, shall we?

... ... ...WAAAAAAAH! im so bored! here i sit in the stupid computer lab at school cuz i dont have classes for the first to periods.
ive actually been doing a lot of wandering here on DA and ive found some pretty interesting people. some of the art you see on here is so amazing! some of it is also very different, but really cool! and some of it is just strange in my opinion, but hey if you like it, you like it, if you dont, you dont.

anyhow, with all this newly gained free time ive been trying to make it a point to visit all the people in my friend list. if i havent seen you yet, my apologies! ill get to you soon!

finally, im thinking about opening up commisions for people. for free of course! i dont really need the money and i dont think id charge even if i did cuz i luv art and id luv to draw for you guys... if you want me to anyway.
so, if any of you are looking for someone to do a commision for you, i'm your man... NO! not in that way! i know what you were thinking.

well, i worked and worked at that stupid CSS thing for hours, learning how it works, learning some of the colors, and i even asked around about it, and finally came up with that blue journal template that you may or may not have seen, but i just wasnt satisfied about it and finally gave in. thankfully, after much searching, i came across this awesome green one which i am using from

well, its snow snow and more snow where i live and i just cant get enough of it!!! yesterday (Thanksgiving) we went to the Ski hill to do some... Skiing, and it was great!!! the snow was so fluffy and the weather was just about perfect. the only downside is that the backside of the ski hill (where all the challenging runs are) was completely closed TT_TT

and i were trying to think of ways to hurt ourse- *AHEM* make it more challenging. we had a good time!

as far as artwork goes, it's coming along great! ive got tons of work, ive just gotta get it on here now.
it's been so nice actually having internet access, even if it is every once in a while! its better than nothing!!!

hey everyone, this is otakudork90. thanks for reading my first journal since my subscription.
soooooo, im just kinda test how these things work. it took me two or three tries to get the poll thing goin, but it worked out.
which leads into the inquiry(s) of the day.
first, if you or someone you know has a subscription and actually, unlike myself, knows exactly how to use it, your help would be greatly appreciated. id like to know how some people have colorful journals and how they get their artwork actually on them. im also interested to see how people have shoutboards on their page. i can only get mine to appear with the rest of the journals.

anyways, Heeeeeeeeelllooooooo Deviants!!!! ota-d here!! still full of excitement and wide eyed wonder as usual, but half the calories!!!
some updates here that should be mentioned:
-nearly finished drawing for the contest that

is having. just a few touch ups and it's good to go.
-many more drawings nearly completed, so we'll be seeing some more work for once out of lazy old ota-d.
